Matt Hardy Shares Issue With AEW’s Use Of Talent: “It Drives Me Nuts!”

On his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt looked at the recent push of Harley Cameron, who despite her popularity, came up short against Mercedes Moné at Grand Slam: Australia. Hardy argued that even if Cameron isn’t on Mone’s level when it comes to in-ring wrestling ability, that shouldn’t have been a factor in the event’s booking.

“Who cares? Harley doesn’t match her in the ring. That’s irrelevant.”

Hardy shared his issue with Tony Khan’s mantra that AEW is ‘Where the best wrestle.’ While this is some effective promoting of the company, Hardy believes that Khan’s focus on in-ring work is having a negative impact on popular acts on the roster who may not be the ‘best’ in the ring.

“It doesn’t matter if she doesn’t match up. It drives me nuts man. If you are over (as a) character, if people are interested, it’s gonna help sell tickets, it’s gonna move merch, and someone that’s popular, utilize them.”

While Cameron may still become AEW TBS Champion, many believe the promotion’s ideal window has passed, and that a victory in her native Australia should have happened. The match in Brisbane marked Cameron’s first time competing for any championship in AEW, with fans hoping it is not her last.

As for Hardy, he will be a part of the upcoming WWE NXT, in a historic return for both himself and Jeff. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Matt Hardy and his views on AEW and the wider wrestling world.

Mercedes Mone Speaks On Future Of Mone Muppet After Grand Slam

Mercedes Mone has commented on the future of the Mone Muppet after her Grand Slam victory.

The Mone Muppet was introduced by Harley Cameron as a way to mock the current TBS Champion during their recent feud. Thanks to the genius of Cameron, the whole thing became a huge hit with multiple Mone Muppet segments going viral.

The former WWE star discussed the unexpected success of the Muppet in her Newsletter. She mentioned how it took a life of its own when they looked nothing alike:

“This little Puppet has really taken on a life of its own. I mean, let’s be real—this thing doesn’t look anything like me, but it sure knows how to bring the entertainment!”

Leave The Spotlight To The Real Star: Mercedes Mone

Mercedes Mone also discussed how Cameron brought the Mone Muppet out for a spot during their Grand Slam match. She mentioned that it was a tribute to DDT’s inflatable dall Yoshihiko but claimed that it was time for the Muppet to take a seat:

“And at Grand Slam! That puppet had its moments, but I kicked it so hard that it practically flew backward! I’ve been a fan of DDT Yoshihiko for ages, so consider this my tribute.

If that Muppet Moné ever wants to hop on the money train, it’s going to need to step up its game. Seriously, it should probably just take a seat and leave the spotlight to the real star—because we all know who runs this show!”

Despite many hoping otherwise, Mercedes Mone picked up the victory over Harley Cameron at AEW’s Australia debut. The rivalry between the two seems to be over for now as AEW teased Momo Watanabe as the next challenger for the TBS title at Dynamite this week.

Harley Cameron’s Emotional Homecoming: “This Is Only Just Getting Started”

AEW Grand Slam Australia was a night of raw emotion and fierce competition, and despite not securing the win, Harley Cameron made it clear—this is just the beginning.

“I think that was one of the best moments of my life, and it didn’t end up how I wanted, but it’s just the beginning,” Cameron said, reflecting on her long-awaited return.

The match, set in front of a home crowd, was a culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice.

“I left here so many years ago and had no idea what was going to happen… but to come home today and show that it all paid off—nothing’s going to change how this feels. It feels so good.”

Although she fell short of victory, Cameron’s passion remains stronger than ever, fueled in part by her rival, Mercedes.

“Oh Mercedes, you are amazing, and I meant it when I said you push me to be better,” she admitted. “I love wrestling so much. I love this industry. I love this company, and I just have a fire in me.”

That fire, Cameron promised, is only growing. “This is only just getting started, people. You are only just starting to feel the wrath. There is more to come.”

With such determination and intensity, the Australian wrestler is far from done—and fans can expect even bigger moments in her future.

Mercedes Moné Retains At Grand Slam, Kicks Harley Cameron’s Puppet

Harley Cameron’s homecoming did not go as planned at AEW Grand Slam: Australia as she was unable to capture the TBS Championship. Arguably the biggest sentimental favorite going into Grand Slam, Cameron arrived to a hero’s welcome in the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

The two women traded momentum, with Cameron’s puppet of the CEO also coming into play. Mercedes Moné would punt her miniature doopelganger into the second row, riling up the crowd, who were already firmly behind Harley, even further.

Despite Cameron’s best efforts, Moné won with her Mone Maker, earning her 14th consecutive TBS Championship defense. Though she didn’t linger in the ring with Cameron following her victory, the champ gloated in front of STARDOM’s Momo Watanabe, who was sitting ringside.

Cameron coming up short will come as a disappointment to many but only proves that The CEO is ready to dash the hopes of all challengers, even in their home country. It remains to be seen who will ultimately end Moné’s impressive title reign, and whether it could be Watanabe who takes the TBS gold.

AEW Stars Compete Before Jacksonville Jaguars Home Opener

All Elite Wrestling is home to several Hispanic wrestlers who wow fans each week with their skills in the ring. This past weekend, AEW kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month in style by presenting a special Lucha Libre match before the Jacksonville Jaguars’ home opener.

In an electrifying tag team contest, Sammy Guevara and Hologram defeated the team of The Beast Mortos and Matt Taven in a two-out-of-three falls match. This win makes Hologram 10-0 in AEW after debuting for the promotion earlier this year.

AEW President Tony Khan addressed the crowd beforehand, expressing AEW’s dedication to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and the Jaguars’ success.

This match wasn’t the only way Jaguars fans got to see the stars of AEW as Wardlow, Harley Cameron, and reigning Women’s World Champion Mariah May were in attendance at the game. This marked a rare appearance for Wardlow, who hasn’t competed for AEW since the Big Business: Dynamite in March of this year.

Despite the influx of AEW talent at the game, the Jaguars lost to the Cleveland Browns 18-13. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from the world of AEW as the company continues on the road to its Grand Slam: Dynamite special.

WWE & AEW Stars Drop “Can’t Stop Da Party” Music Single

Though most professional wrestlers may prefer to “layeth the SmackDown” on their opponents, Da Party opted for a different approach.

In a music single released at midnight, the quartet of WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Xavier Woods, Ring of Honor World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, AEW‘s Adam Cole, and former WWE Superstar Tyler Breeze, laid down the bars. The respective single marks the musical debut of the foursome, as they previously connected in the professional wrestling and gaming worlds.

Each spent time in WWE, with Woods standing as the sole talent to remain with the company, but it was on Wood’s popular Up Up Down Down YouTube Channel where they truly bonded. Now, Da Party lends their voices to the music stylings of “Can’t Stop Da Party.”

Also featuring the voice of Harley Cameron, the dance track “Can’t Stop Da Party” is now available on major music streaming services, including Spotify, Apple, and Amazon Music.

Prior to the song’s official launch, Da Party shared some behind-the-scenes photographs from their recording session in the studio.

Harley Cameron’s Music Contributions

Harley Cameron, much like her co-contributors, is a professional wrestler, but she’s also made some moves in the music business as well. In October, she dropped a cover of “I Put a Spell on You” alongside WWE Superstars Shotzi and Scarlett. The trio previously released another song entitled “Indestructible” in 2021.

2021 also marked the premiere of “The IInspiration,” named after the Australian tag team of Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay. The duo used it as their theme song in IMPACT Wrestling. Lee and McKay were featured, alongside Cameron, in the corresponding music video for the song as well.

WWE & AEW Talent to Release ‘Can’t Stop Da Party’ Track Soon

Fans of Xavier Woods’ popular UpUpDownDown YouTube channel will soon get to hear the group’s single ‘Can’t Stop Da Party.’

Da Party consists of Woods, former WWE Superstar and current trainer Tyler Breeze, Ring of Honor World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, and AEW’s Adam Cole.

On Twitter, Cole shared an image of the four members and said it is just two more days before the track’s release.

Given that the tweet was released yesterday, that means that ‘Can’t Stop Da Party’ will drop at some point tomorrow.

Fans can find out more information on how to purchase the track by clicking here.

Harley Cameron, who has performed with Shotzi and Scarlett, will feature in the track set to be released on Monday.

All four members of Da Party have proven themselves in the ring, and while Woods can hold his own on the trombone, none are known for their singing.

In addition to the foursome, the track will feature Harley Cameron, who is a wrestler/singer.

Cameron worked with Shotzi and Scarlett last October for a cover of ‘I Put a Spell on You’ and produced the theme song for The IInspiration in Impact Wrestling.

Da Party

The quartet of Woods, Breeze, Castagnoli, and Cole were highlights of UpUpDownDown for years, but the group’s run was cut short by factors outside of their control.

Breeze was released from WWE in 2021, and Cole would choose not to re-sign with the company shortly after.

In October 2022, members of Da Party teased a reunion and in November, streamed on Twitch for their first time playing together since Cole’s departure.
