Update On Hulk Hogan’s WWE Return, Hogan At Royal Rumble?, More

At this point, Hulk Hogan is basically confirmed for an appearance of some kind at WrestleMania XXX. In fact, there are some who believe it’s even possible that Hogan will return at the Royal Rumble tonight. Nothing is official, but there is talk that it’s at least possible.

As previously reported, Hogan was examined by WWE doctors and afterwards the decision was made not to allow Hogan to get involved in any physical capacity. Not only is Hogan unable to work an actual match, but it’s being said that he isn’t even permitted to throw punches, let alone have someone run into a big boot, and especially no leg drops.

  • Seth Rollins Speaks On The Shield Breaking Up, Hogan & Warrior Returns, Rumble

The following are highlights of a recent Digital Spy interview with WWE Superstar Seth Rollins:

On whether or not the Royal Rumble will cause The Shield to part ways: “I don’t think so. It’s every man for himself but there’s 27 other guys in there that need to get out of that ring before we figure out which one of the three of us is the best. I would be worried for the 27 other dudes who are gonna be having to deal with hopefully the three of us in the ring at the same time. No-one has gotten away from that the whole year. Not The Rock, not The Undertaker, not John Cena. When there’s three of us in the ring at the same time, it’s disaster for anybody else.”

On the rumors that Hulk Hogan is returning to WWE: “I mean hey, he’s a legend, if he comes back in the WWE that’d be great for us just to have him around. He’s an icon in the history of our business. But, if he steps in our way, he could end up getting triple-powerbombed too.”

On whether or not WWE’s tag-team division is as exciting as it’s been in a long time: “I would say so. We went through, as a company, a good chunk of time there where tag team wrestling just fell off. Then Bryan and Kane [as Team Hell No] had the tag titles for a long period of time. We took them from them, which really is a great honor, because they really brought ’em back to really meaning something. I think myself and Roman Reigns, even Dean Ambrose with him to an extent, we took tag wrestling in a different direction in the WWE. We showed people what it could be.”

“I love tag team wrestling. I’ve loved it my whole life. A lot of my favorite teams – The Rockers [Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty], Legion of Doom [Michael ‘Hawk’ Hegstrand and Joseph ‘Animal’ Laurinaitis], The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express [Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson], Midnight Express [Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey].”

“The excitement with all the guys in the match. There’s so much more you can do with four bodies in the rules of a tag team match than two guys in a singles match. It’s just a completely different thing. I think we just took it to another level. I felt the writing on the wall with what we can do, and there were a lot of guys in the tag division who were on board. And once we stepped up our game everybody else had to measure up. That was a cool thing.”

On The Ultimate Warrior returning to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame: “I can’t wait for his speech! I hope I’m there, I can’t wait. That’s just going to be immense. I don’t know what they’re going to do with that. If you’re not there live, then wait for the DVD, because they’re going to have to edit that thing for a Hall of Fame special for sure! To have him back is really cool because he’s an icon in our business and the history of our business. He was like a whisper in the wind. Like a firecracker – a few years, BOOM! blew up and then gone. To have him back, doing his thing with us is pretty cool. He was one of my favorites growing up.”

Hulk Hogan/WrestleMania Update, WWE To Bring Back Big Names For 2/24 RAW?

It appears pretty likely at this point that not only will Hulk Hogan not be competing in an actual match at WrestleMania XXX, he may not be involved physically in any form or fashion.

The latest word coming out of WWE is that Hogan was examined by their doctors and as a result, the decision was made not to use him in a physical capacity whenever he returns to the company officially.

Additionally, there is talk in WWE that the company may debut Hulk Hogan, along with several other big names, at the WWE RAW show on February 24th. The 2/22 RAW is the night after Elimination Chamber and the night that the WWE Network officially launches.

  • Roddy Piper In Talks With WWE For A Match With Hulk Hogan At WrestleMania XXX

Roddy Piper continues to push for a match against Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania XXX. Part 2 of his interview on the Steve Austin Show podcast was posted online this week and here’s what he had to say about wrestling Hogan one last time:

“This is Wrestlemania 30. I’ve pinned Hogan once and he’s never pinned me. From a fan’s perspective, and WWE Universe and Vince, it never had closure. The business that would be done.. the interviews and stuff would be coming from the heart. We could try to outraise the bar of the WWE entertainment machine in our sport, if they let us go toe to toe and don’t script us. The fans will see really how it got started and why, and then they’ll see the conclusion. They are asking can I get in shape. I am already in shape!. They are asking Hogan.. But there is a fear, I guess, of whether we can pull off the performance.”

Jim Ross Q&A: Hogan vs. Austin, Daniel Bryan/Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns/Usos

The following are highlights from a recent Jim Ross online Q&A update:

On if he feels Roman Reigns will ever work with his cousins The Usos: “I assume that any thing is possible down the road. It likely wouldn’t be often or remotely on a regular basis.”

On if it’s fair to compare today’s era against the Attitude Era: “”Fair?” It’s merely speculation and not a decree of fact. Today’s roster has some intriguing, underdeveloped pieces who need to continue to evolve plus have others added to the mix to ever approach the Attitude Era roster. I hope that they do.”

On why WWE didn’t do Hulk Hogan vs. Steve Austin in 2002: “Nothing serious that I recall. Rock was a better fit for Hogan at WM18.”

On if WWE talents had more creative freedom back in the late 90s and early 2000s: “Yes, somewhat. Those that could assemble their thoughts in a good way were provided some creative flexibility. Needs to get back to that.”

On if he feels Daniel Bryan will be in the Royal Rumble, and if so, should he win: “Your guess is as good as mine. He’s facing Bray Wyatt at the Rumble but that doesn’t mean that any of those talents in one on one matches can’t be in the Rumble match too. Tune in and see….that’s what I’m doing.”

  • Hulk Hogan’s WWE Creative Plans Finalized, Rumored Royal Rumble Title Match

    – There has been talk over the past few days that WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee vs. Naomi will be added to Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. This will depend on WWE’s scripting of the show and how much time is available for another singles match.

    – Creative plans for Hulk Hogan’s return to WWE television have been finalized. It’s unknown at this time when Hogan will be appearing, but he’s expected to have a prominent role at WrestleMania XXX.

It also seems likely that WWE could use Hogan to make a final ‘hard sell’ for the WWE Network, which launches on February 24th.

Jim Ross Q&A: Richard Sherman/WMXXX, Will TNA Survive?, Austin/Hogan, More

The following are highlights from a recent website Q&A update by WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross:

On if he wears his WWE Hall Of Fame ring often: “Yes, I’m proud of my WWE HOF ring and wear it often.”

On if there’s a chance WWE will invite Richard Sherman to WrestleMania XXX: “A chance? I assume so. However, I am not in the WWE loop any longer anddon’t have any idea as to what WM30 plans are. I do know I will do my one man show in NOLA on Thurs April 3 at the House of Blues.”

On how The Rock is as a person: “Great guy. Highly motivated…positive…goal oriented…ambitious. Has always been good to me and visa versa.”

On which version of John Cena he most enjoys: “I am a fan of today’s John Cena.”

On who had the more successful era financially: Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin: “Hard one to quantify but both men were giants within the business in different eras and with different criteria.”

On if he expects TNA to survive the next three-to-five years: “I certainly hope so. I don’t know their financial business.”

  • “Mean” Gene Okerlund Speaks On Legends House, Warrior/HOF, Hogan’s Return

The following are highlights of a recent interview with WWE Hall Of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund:

On WWE Network: “I think this is gonna go down, probably, when we look back at it, I may not be here, for that matter, you guys may not be here, but if you look at 30-40 years from now, it’s revolutionary. And who knows if the internet is gonna be here 30-40 years from now. Things change.”

On Legends House: “We did it in March and April of 2012. So you’re taking a look at pretty close to two years, but it’s been kept under wraps, and that’s beyond me because I’m on the inside track in the company…” The producers took away cell phones, computers, televisions and newspapers and they tried to get you pissed off at each other. And it worked for some of us, but I’m a kind of a low profile older guy, so it didn’t, but Pat Patterson and I had a wonderful time.”

On Old School RAW: “I love Old School Raw. It’s great to see the young guys… and young divas, that’s not beyond me, but I think it kind of mells the old with the new. I mean, you’ve got a Piper, you’ve got some of these new guys, The Shield, and of course some of these old time guys who are kind of the stalwarts of the company, you know, Hunter, certainly John Cena, but I think there’s something to be extracted from the past and what it delivers to a current audience. Becauase a lot of these people grew up with Piper, they grew up with Hogan, they grew up with the Macho Man, they grew up with a guy who’s going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, The Ultimate Warrior, and why the hell that’s happening is beyond me!”

On Ultimate Warrior: “Well, you know what, he was a huge draw for a limited amount of time. He was a World Heavyweight Champion, and I remember riding back in the car with Hogan when we left Toronto and went to Syracuse, New York, you know, he had some bad feelings about it.”

On if Ultimate Warrior going over Hulk Hogan was best for business: “Well, you know, I really tend to go with the feelings of the company. I was told this was gonna happen and this is the way it’s gonn be. We did interviews actually before the event, not that I’m letting the cat out of the bag, I would say that Hogan was against that move at that time… and he was probably right.”

On if he feels Hulk Hogan will be returning: “I kind of have to say that my hunch is, you might be seeing him shortly.”

  • Former TNA Announcer Speaks On TNA Departure Of Hogan, Jarrett & Styles

The following are highlights of a recent interview with former TNA announcer Todd Kenley:

On Hulk Hogan’s departure: “I think it was time. I think Hulk went in there and did everything he could do to help the TNA brand and he did a lot of good for them in terms of opening that door to different media channels and a lot of international business. I think he played a solid role. Hulk wasn’t just a figure head. He was in those meetings, he was in creative meetings, he was taking time, he was helping guys fine tune the little nuances in ring and on the mic. He was very active, so anyone who thinks Hulk was there just sitting there collecting a check is wrong and i can tell you that first hand.”

On Jeff Jarrett’s departure: “That one was definitely a big head turner, i mean here’s a guy that really put himself out there, founded that company, took a chance did the weekly PPVs, got on Fox Sports at one point, eventually teamed up with the Carters, got on Spike TV. You think about the roller coaster this guy went through and the sacrifices he made to keep that company around is unbelievable so to walk away from it it’s got to be for a good reason one would think. You read the rumors that he’s going to start his own thing and we’ll see. I honestly hope he does, because the more variety and more opportunity for talented people in this business to get work, be seen and make a living the better. He’s obviously got a great mind for the business, but yeah that’s one where if you followed TNA from day one then he’s the guy who started it all so you gotta look at it and say whats going on here.”

On AJ Styles’ departure: “Time will tell whats really going on there. Obviously as much as Jeff Jarrett founded TNA and is synonymous with TNA in terms of a in ring competitor he’s been labeled at times the poster boy of TNA wrestling, AJ Styles is another guy that you just saw his career, you basically him basically grow up in the business in TNA. They were the ones that really gave him a big opportunity to shine and you saw him go from X Division competitor to holding tag team gold all the way to becoming World Champion. He’s a guy you can’t help but respect, a guy that has tons of class, hard worker, great attitude in terms of working with people. So another guy just like Jarrett where you like wow if they really let him go whats the deal.”

Jim Ross Q&A: WWE Divas Tag Titles, Hogan/WMXXX, Undertaker’s Streak, More

The following are highlights of a recent online Q&A update by WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross:

On if he was surprised by the quality of past Undertaker-Batista matches: “Not really. Both are big money players. They had chemistry. Taker’s extraordinarily special. Dave’s a beast. Great combo.”

On The Undertaker’s streak: “I’m not a fan of a The Streak ever be broken. It’s not torch passing material.”

On Hulk Hogan’s participation at WrestleMania XXX: “I see Hulk in a tag before him doing a singles bout w/ a wrecked back.”

On the possibility of a WWE Divas Tag-Team Championship: “At the moment, I’m not overjoyed by the potential of a Divas Tag Championship but I’m willing to see how it evolves over time if it happens.”

  • Judge Rules That Hulk Hogan’s Sex Tape Can Be Posted Online

WWE Hall of Fame Hulk Hogan suffered a legal defeat in court today in his ongoing lawsuit against Gawker.com for posting clips of his sex tape with Heather Clem, ex-wife of Bubba The Love Sponge.

Tampa Bay Times reports today that the Judge presiding over the case ruled that the website is allowed the post the footage because:

“Mr. Bollea failed to meet the heavy burden to overcome the presumption that the temporary injunction is invalid as an unconstitutional prior restraint under the First Amendment.”

Hogan filed a temporary restraining order against Gawker Media back in April 2013 for releasing footage of the encounter. The court ruled that due the the publicity of the tape, the news falls under the First Amendment, which protects “discussions on matters of public concern.”

HULK HOGAN Says He Will Be “Working” WrestleMania XXX

Report: Hulk Hogan Says He Will Be At WrestleMania

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan says he will be at WrestleMania XXX on April 6th and will be “working” at the event, according to a report at WrestlingINC.com.

Hogan attended this week’s Affiliate Summit West marketing conference from Las Vegas, Nevada to promote his Hostamania web hosting service.  The news comes from a fan who attended the summit and spoke to Hogan personally, so take that for what you will.

Big Update On Hulk Hogan’s WWE Negotiations

Big Update On Hulk Hogan’s WWE Status

Hulk Hogan reached a verbal agreement with WWE this past week, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The latest is that Hogan will not be wrestling at WrestleMania XXX and most likely would not pass a WWE physical. That said, he will have some sort of role at the WWE Hall of Fame and WrestleMania XXX. WWE has been talking about inducting the WrestleMania 1 main event (Hogan & Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorf) into the Hall of Fame, with all 4 men being on hand for the ceremony.

As reported earlier this week, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has been pushing for a match at WrestleMania that would pit himself & CM Punk vs. Hulk Hogan & John Cena. Piper put Punk over during Old School RAW and tried convincing Punk to get on board for the idea, but it wont be happening, for a variety of reasons.

At one point there was talk of Hulk Hogan appearing at the ‘groundbreaking’ WWE Network announcement, but the company did not want Hogan’s return to distract from the Network announcement. The decision was made to hold off on his return, which will help pop a big TV rating as WWE is negotiating their TV rights fees.

Backstage News On Batista & Ultimate Warrior’s WWE Deals

    – “The Animal” Batista’s return to WWE television on Monday’s RAW has been several months in the making. Triple H and Batista began negotiating back in September, with both sides coming to an agreement around October. He’ll be working a close-to-fulltime schedule (including house shows), taking time off when needed to promote his movie projects.

    – The deal to bring The Ultimate Warrior back into the company for a WWE Hall Of Fame induction was reportedly finalized a week before Christmas. The deal was brokered by 2K Sports, who worked with Warrior directly on the WWE 2K14 video game. As previously reported, Warrior dealt directly with Vince McMahon and had no interaction with Triple H. Warrior apparently wanted an apology for the 20045 “Self Destruction” DVD and is getting a proper DVD release on his WWE career that will be released the Tuesday before his Hall oof Fame induction and WresteMania XXX.

As for Warrior’s Hall of Fame inductee, both Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan are rumored to be doing the honors. Considering how much leverage Warrior had during the negotiations, it seems unlikely that he’d sign off on Hogan inducting him, so Vince appears to be the frontrunner. Warrior’s well-documented unpredictability and what he’ll say during his speech is one of the main selling points for this year’s ceremony. This was referenced by JBL several times on Monday’s RAW and was acknowledged by Warrior himself this week on Twitter.

Gunner Speaks On AJ Styles & Jeff Jarrett Leaving TNA, Hulk Hogan, Dixie Carter

The following are highlights of a recent interview with TNA star Gunner:

On having a tryout in front of Hulk Hogan: “I was aware that I was being watched. When I got that dark match, D-Lo said Dixie’s watching, & Hulk’s watching. Here is your opportunity so don’t go out there and screw it up. I’ve always worked well under pressure and I think being in The Marine Corps helps you in dealing with a lot of pressure. It was my opportunity and I was either going to go out there and shine or I was going to burn. Hulk gave me a lot of compliments, not only for my dark match, but throughout the time he was there. He seemed to enjoy a lot of my character, so that meant a lot.

On TNA being on the road versus the Impact Zone: “There are pros & cons to both. Being on the road was great because you get to see different towns and different wrestling fans. The Impact Zone has the same people there usually every week or every month, which is not bad, but then again it’s really nice to get in front of say like, a southern crowd like we will in Alabama for Genesis. It’ll obviously be a hot crowd. But it’s good to be back in the Impact Zone. We have a home base and we know the crowd will be pretty lively.

On AJ Styles leaving TNA: “Superstars leave promotions all the time. It doesn’t mean he (AJ) won’t be back. He may have some things going on that he wants to take care of first. All it is, is giving somebody like me the open door to be the new poster child for the company.

On the state of TNA: “I honestly believe that all is well. It seems that theres’ things going on in WWE that the internet doesn’t hit on. It seems that because we are a younger company, I feel like we are the ones that get hit on so much. I don’t think personally anything is wrong with the company. We’re having more live events in 2014 than we did in 2013. We’re doing the UK tour which is a very huge tour for us plus the new TV deal we just signed in the UK and we’re still with Spike TV, so I don’t think anything’s wrong with the company. I honestly don’t see Impact going anywhere.

On TNA pushing but not committing to young stars: “I understand what you’re talking about and it already happened to me because in 2011 I was in the bound for glory series and I was hot being a singles guy, then I sat home for 8 months, and it wasn’t anything I did wrong, it was just a revamping of the character. There could be things going on behind the scenes that I don’t know about perhaps like somebody not getting along. It is known and it has been said, and Dixie has had conversations with us, and the new talent relations guy said 2014 is the year for the young guys to step up.”

On Jeff Jarrett leaving TNA: “That was kind of out of left field with a lot of us. On a personal level, Jeff helped me a lot also. He was always there for me to ask questions about promos or anything and as far as that, he’s a guy I consider a friend. And on a professional level, I don’t know why he left. Jeff Jarrett is a smart man. He’s a smart business man when it comes to wrestling. He’s been around it his whole life. I wish him luck and hope I get to work with him again someday because he’s always been there for me.”

On how hands-on Dixie Carter is with TNA creative: “When it comes to writing storylines, she doesn’t have any say so in that. She kind of lets the professionals do that. I don’t get to sit in on production meetings so I don’t know what goes on with that stuff. She does keep an eye on everybody and she does watch the show live when we do it. She’s right in front of the monitor in the back. She has input and it is valuable at times because she’s the owner of the company and you definitely want to hear what she has to say.”

  • Matt Striker Speaks On Hulk Hogan/Metallica Rumor, Relationship With Edge

The following are highlights from a recent Journey Of A Frontman interview with former WWE talent Matt Striker:

On if he’ll give more time to his music career now that he’s done with WWE: “Yeah. The thing about music with me though is that I have to be inspired. I need a muse. I have to have a desire to sit down behind a drum kit or pick up the guitar or do anything, as far as making music goes. When inspiration hits, now that I give it more time, of course I would expect it to be something that I could pay a little more time to.”

On the Lemmy documentary and fans of Motorhead in WWE: “No. I’ve seen the Motorhead one, but I haven’t seen the one that was focused on Lemmy himself. My exposure to Motorhead came from my Aunt Sheri. I always dug just how driving they were. And I always chose Motorhead over AC/DC. That was pretty much how that worked for me. Growing up, you either dug Motorhead or you dug AC/DC. But when I got to WWE, it turns out that a few people that I really looked up to were big Motorhead fans. William Regal, Triple H, guys like that. So I got to meet Lemmy once backstage at a WWE event. He and Hunter were just talking in a hallway and all the wrestlers were walking past Lemmy and they had no idea who he was. It broke my damn heart. So I remember interrupting their conversation and I was a little scared that I was gonna offend Hunter, but at the same time, he knew that I was a fan. I said to Lemmy, “Hey man, I just wanna let you know, it’s really f’ing cool to meet you!” And Lemmy chuckled, we shook hands, and I just kept walking. And that was a very cool thing for me. I don’t think anyone else knew who the damn guy was! And they should all be put out to pasture for that.”

On the way Lemmy would be treated by those in WWE: “Then you’d watch everyone go into ass kissing mode because they would want to gain favor with Triple H. They’d say, “Oh man! Great to meet you! I really like uh…Ace of Spades!” They would just throw out whatever commercial Motorhead song they thought they knew. I just thought it was cool that Triple H saw the fanboy in me and almost thought it was cool how sheepishly I approached Lemmy to just shake the guy’s hand. And I mean it’s just so cool. That’s a musical icon. That’s a great treasure of the world, Lemmy should be.”

On musicians he’s met backstage in WWE during the RAW guest host era: “I got to meet the guys from Alter Bridge. They were hanging out with Edge and that was pretty cool. I’ve met George Thorogood through CM Punk. That was really neat. I think there’s a Chicago connection there. Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, got to meet them backstage at RAW. I dug that WWE, for a while, was using really cool musical guests, not just for Wrestlemania. So I would really dig when those people would come around because being a musician, I would watch their soundchecks. And I would just watch how they would finger a chord or how a drummer would hit a particular note somewhere. So I always really, really liked that sort of stuff. I also got to chill with Snoop Dogg in his personal dressing room, but I won’t get into much more! (laughs) But wink, wink, wink!”

On his relationship with Adam “Edge” Copeland: “Adam’s got a unique musical taste. As part of our unique friendship, we don’t really talk about wrestling, but we do talk about other things. And music is definitely on that list. He’s a big Pearl Jam guy too. And he’s a big Foo Fighters guy, that’s his band all day every day.”

On wrestlers in WWE who have strong music tastes: “That’s a great question. There’s a lot of guys that I connected with on different levels of music. I remember when I first got to WWE, I wasn’t well-received. I was the new kid in school. And one of our first European tours, we all travel on a bus. Good guys travel on a luxury bus, bad guys travel on a luxury bus. I was on bad guys’ bus. And I remember Chavo Guerrero and Mark Henry were in the back and they had their phones, they were listening to music. They were listening to a lot of good seventies and early eighties disco music and house music. So I opened up a conversation with them about that. So guys like Chavo and Mark Henry were into that style. Teddy Long used to be a DJ on the air and I used to travel with him. Man, we would talk about soul music. I mean just some real good stuff such as Teddy Pendergrass, The Main Ingredient, The Platters. Guys like Big Daddy V would put that stuff on in the locker room and most of the young, white wrestlers would leave! (laughs) It would just be me, Mark Henry, Teddy Long, and Big Daddy V tappin’ our toes to some cool Rare Earth and stuff like that. William Regal is a big Motorhead fan, as well as a big Smiths and Morrissey fan. He and I talked about that a lot. We had a little bit of a side wager, how many different Smiths or Morrissey songs could I work into commentary for a William Regal match? I think I hit about sixteen of them and tried to make them all make sense, while not just saying names of albums or songs.”

“Kane, I know he likes Pink Floyd. Sometimes you’ll hear Delicate Sound of Thunder coming from his private, little locker room. Vince McMahon is a big AC/DC guy, very muchso. CM Punk is very, very into a lot of alternative music, bands like Minor Threat and those other hardcore bands. He doesn’t go far without his headphones on. He really identifies with that culture. I believe he brings Lars from Rancid backstage. He’s a really, really cool, down to earth dude. Christian listens to Judy Garland, Barbara Streisand, Justin Bieber, and Celine Dion. That’s the truth. Jericho and I always got along really well and again, it wasn’t about wrestling, it was about music. Jericho is a music trivia machine guy. He’s buddies with Mike Portnoy whose from Long Beach, New York, two towns over from me. He’s buddies with Eddie Trunk, and being a Long Island kid, Eddie Trunk’s voice is a staple. Out here on Long Island rock and roll radio and stuff like that, And Jericho likes Rush a lot. And he’s a big Beatles guy too. And not just I Wanna Hold Your Hand and Here Comes The Sun, side two of Abbey Road and Let It Be and things like that. That’s what Jericho and I really talked about. He’s also a hair metal guy. Saxon and Warrant and bands like that.”

On Chris Jericho’s band “Fozzy”: “I have heard a couple of Fozzy songs. I had just never really gone out and pursued their catalog. I find that a lot of their stuff with Chris’s fronting reminds me of early Maiden or early Judas Priest and stuff like that. I admire Chris for having the courage and the talent to go out there and forge a career outside of wrestling. Chris Jericho’s a talented guy, musically. And also with his podcast and his web show. Pretty much everything Chris Jericho does is successful. That’s a testament to Chris’s talent.”

On cracking Vince McMahon up on commentary: “Oh, of course! It’s funny, when I was on commentary once, I don’t remember how the segue came up, but I started to break into my rendition of Stand Back live on RAW. And Vince came in my ear over the headset and you can just hear him laughing for a good thirty seconds and then said, “Knock that shit off!” (laughs) I would get away with the references no matter what because half the time, no one knew what I was talking about. There’s no way Vince McMahon or the executive producer of the television product in the truck was able to pick up on a reference I made. I used to go out there and make these independent hip hop references. I was very into guys like Slug, whose apart of Atmosphere or Brother Ali. And I would quote lyrics fully on the air on any show and then the feedback on the internet would be great. While Vince is catering to the nine year old kid, he forgets that there’s still a large population of people twelve and up that watch our product as well. You need to engage them as well. I was able to get away with a lot of stuff because I would cleverly veil my references.”

On the Hulk Hogan/Metallica rumor: “I know he used to play bass in a bar as a young man. If that’s the case, then I auditioned for Metallica too. Maybe he did audition for Metallica. But I’m sure Lars would remember Hulk Hogan coming in to play bass. (laughs).”

TMZ.com caught up with Hulk Hogan this week and asked him about the news of The Ultimate Warrior being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

After their much-publicized personal rivalry, Hogan appears to have buried the hatchet and said “He’s a good choice for the Hall of Fame.” Hogan added, “He’s a good man.”

Back in the summer of 2011, after Hulk Hogan had been running down the Ultimate Warrior in a series of interviews, Warrior unleashed his 55-minute “Karma Collects” video on Youtube, accusing Hogan of being an avid user of cocaine and marijuana, keeping other wrestlers hooked on drugs to hold them down, having an ‘open marriage’ with his ex-wife Linda, offering his wife’s ‘services’ to other wrestlers back in the day and being a disgraceful parent (among other things).

WWE To Induct An Actual Match Into 2014 Class Of The WWE Hall Of Fame?

WWE is playing around with the idea of inducting a match into the 2014 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame in April.

According to a recent PWInsider.com report, the idea being pitched in WWE right now is for Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorff and Mr. T to be inducted, making it the first time in history that an actual match itself is inducted into WWE’s Hall Of Fame, as all four were involved in the main event of the first ever WrestleMania.

It’s possible that Jimmy Snuka and Bob Orton Jr. will also be inducted, as they were part of the WrestleMania I main event as well. If the idea comes to fruition, it would leave the door open for future matches to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame as well.

Mr. T has reportedly turned down offers from WWE in the past, but company officials are reportedly negotiating with him to make the aforementioned idea possible.

Obviously if this idea pans out, it would make Hogan, Piper, Orndorff, as well as Orton and Snuka if they are involved, two-time Hall Of Famers. The only two-time Hall Of Famer at the moment is Ric Flair, who was both inducted as an individual and as part of the Four Horsemen.
