  • Former WWE Star Receives TNA Tryout, Angle To Face Old Rival

    — Former WWE Superstar Mike Knox received a tryout with TNA Wrestling at Monday’s Impact Wrestling taping in Orlando, Florida. Brandishing a new look, he faced TNA Television Champion Devon in a pre-show dark match.

    — Kurt Angle stated on Twitter that he would be wrestling Samoa Joe at Monday night’s Impact Wrestling taping in Orlando, Florida. The match will air on Thursday.

    Also announced for the show is a three-way match between Brooke Tessmacher, Gail Kim and Velvet Sky for the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship.

    — It was noted by some TNA Wrestling employees Sunday night how good Sacrifice was without Eric Bischoff, Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan’s last-minute involvement. All three individuals were not on hand for the annual pay-per-view event.

  • New Match Announced For Over the Limit, WWE Features RVD

    — Announced exclusively on WWE.com, WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth will defend their titles for the very first time at WWE Over the Limit on May 20, taking on Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger. (Match Preview)

    — WWE.com has added Rob Van Dam to their Alumni section. The website writes, “Rob Van Dam’s innovative maneuvers, laid back demeanor and airbrushed attire made him ECW’s most popular Superstar of all time, and he later became WWE Champion at a historic contest in New York City.     This continues a trend of WWE.com acknowledging former talent affiliated with TNA Wrestling as Sting was added to the section last week and a playlist of Hulk Hogan’s wildest interviews was uploaded. Furthermore, three TNA Wrestling stars who succumbed to Brock Lesnar during his rise to the top of WWE—Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle and Hogan —were shown in a series of video packages on the April 23 Raw SuperShow.

    — Mick Foley stated Wednesday via Twitter that he has been advised to lessen his time in front of a computer due to his history of concussions.

    After selling his previous home for $6.2 million earlier this year (down from the original $25 million asking price), Hulk Hogan and his new wife Jennifer have purchased a 5,000-square-foot home in north Clearwater Beach for $3.3 million.

    Built in 2009 and located at 1040 Eldorado Ave., the home and has an elevator, fireplace, pool and two spas and looks out on an open expanse of secluded gulf beachfront.

After “Big Poppa Pump” wrote on the social networking website, “At Shoney’s to Go Grand Opening in Buford….awesome food,” the TNA Wrestling executive responded, “50+ year old man pitching greasy fried chicken in Buford and wrestling indys in front of 250 fans…bitter?” Bischoff then retweeted comments on his timeline with an anti-Steiner stance, many of which accuse him of drug abuse.

    Eric Bischoff has finally responded to Scott Steiner’s numerous messages on Twitter over the past month blasting him and TNA Wrestling.

    After “Big Poppa Pump” wrote Thursday afternoon on the social networking website, “At Shoney’s to Go Grand Opening in Buford….awesome food,” the TNA Wrestling executive responded, “50+ year old man pitching greasy fried chicken in Buford and wrestling indys in front of 250 fans…bitter?”

    Bischoff feels it’s ironic that Steiner complains about young talent not rising in TNA Wrestling while simultaneously ripping his 28-year-old wrestler son Garrett: “Its hard for some guys to move over and let the younger talent rise. Irony? One of Scotts bitches in his 20’s and 30’s.”

    Bischoff then retweeted comments on his timeline with an anti-Steiner stance, many of which accusing him of drug abuse.

    Scott Steiner, who parted ways with TNA Wrestling in March, has continued to fire off messages on Twitter trashing his former employer. In his latest series of messages, “Big Poppa Pump” rips Hulk Hogan over his reported concept calling for fans to film TNA Wrestling talent whenever they may encounter them. The multi-time champion also recalls a conversation with Sting where both shared displeasure with Orlando Jordan portraying a bisexual character. Steiner says:

    “Everytime hogan talks to the media without a script he sounds like a F’n idiot.   • Hulk Hogan’s “New Concept” For TNA Possibly Revealed

    Hulk Hogan recently told the New York Post that he has a “new concept” that will “change the business” and be a “momentum shifting” idea. Hogan is so confident that the idea will work that he told the post:

    “We are going to give more power to the fans, make them more involved and more important. I can’t say much more, but I can say this, I’m either going to be really right on this one or really wrong. If I’m wrong, you probably won’t see me again because I’ll be hightailing it out of here.”

    Now, word has gotten out about what the concept is – and we’re left wondering whether Hogan’s days in TNA could be numbered.

    At Monday’s Impact Wrestling tapings, the word going around the TNA locker room is that the new concept is something where TNA will be calling on their fans to film TNA wrestlers whenever they may encounter them, in or out of the ring, TMZ/paparazzi-style.

    Sources in TNA say talent is not thrilled with the idea, with people joking about Hogan encouraging “candid footage” of TNA stars – considering how badly his own image has been hurt by TMZ coverage (his divorce, Nick Hogan’s car wreck, his sex tape, etc.).

  • Paul Orndorff Slams Bret Hart, Ric Flair and Ultimate Warrior

    WWE Hall of Famer Paul Orndorff appeared on Inside The Ropes on Thursday night and slammed Bret Hart, Ric Flair and Ultimate Warrior (audio available here) . Highlights are are as follows:

    Facing Ric Flair in 1982 for NWA World Championship: “He was just another body. Some are better than others. I believed in making it look real. I was probably hard to work with because I wanted it to make real and I knew how to wrestle.”

    Experience of working at the first WrestleMania in the main event: “It was special. There were so many people. It was the largest crowd to ever watch it. And then the pay per view of it was just ungodly. This was my opportunity to be really noticed and be seen. My paycheck….it was huge. I made more money in that 30 minutes than I did in a whole year with the NWA. People expected it and they were gonna get it from me.”

    Working with Mr. T in the main event of WrestleMania: “I wasn’t crazy about it. I was very protective WrestleMania 1of the business. I was taught that. You take care of it. You don’t give out all your trade secrets. But then again you look at somebody like Ric Flair and you can say how can you hide something when they look like that? So I guess I started to give in a little bit.”

    Transition in WWF from wrestling to entertainment in mid 80’s: “It depends on your personality. I protected it. To me that wasn’t protecting it.     Opinion on long rumur that Hogan wouldn’t drop the belt to Bret Hart in 1993…: “I don’t blame him. I wouldn’t have either. Bret Hart was a nobody from Canada and Hogan was the greatest star in wrestling. I don’t blame him. He did the right thing.”

    Rob Van Dam beat Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson in a Three-Way Match at Tuesday’s Impact Wrestling taping in Orlando, Florida (airing this Thursday on Spike TV) to become the No. 1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. He will face Bobby Roode at Sacrifice, which takes place May 13 in Orlando, Florida.

    The show kicked off with Hardy and Anderson confronting Roode and staking their claim for his title. Impact Wrestling General Manager Hulk Hogan appeared and made a match for the No. 1 Contender’s spot with Hardy, Anderson and Van Dam.

    Kurt Angle stated on Twitter that he will face AJ Styles at Sacrifice. This is a rematch from Tuesday’s Impact Wrestling taping.

  • Brooke Hogan Appearing At Lockdown, Why She Isn’t In TNA

    Hulk Hogan’s daughter Brooke said on Twitter that she will be on hand for tonight’s TNA Lockdown pay-per-view event in Nashville, Tennessee. Since her father’s arrival to TNA Wrestling over two years ago, it’s been speculated that she would eventually assume an on-camera role. When asked Saturday whether she has plans to join the Knockouts division, she remarked, “Knockout division? I’m about 2 feet taller than all em. It just wouldn’t be fair lol.”

    Hogan told British newspaper The Sun that WWE has tried several times to get her to follow in her father footsteps and become a wrestler.

    “The WWE have told me that if I ever want to become a wrestler all I need to do is walk through the door and they’ll give me a job straight away,” Hogan said three years ago. “They are always like, ‘Hey Brooke when are you gonna put on some spandex and get in the ring?’”

    So what’s stopping her from becoming a wrestler?

    “It’s just not my interest,” Hogan said then. “I’m more of a girly girl.”

    Meanwhile, Robbie E warned Hogan to not interfere in his Television Championship Match against Devon tonight like at Victory Road when she took away a steel chair he attempted to use. He then blamed her for the loss over Twitter as he felt she was hitting on him during the match.

    “Don’t get involved in my match again hamster or I’ll have @IMPACTWRESTLING security get you ejected bro!” E wrote.

    She responded, “listen peanut, cool your jets. You’re not my type.”

  • Eric Bischoff Calls Bret Hart A “Sad Person”, Kaz Shaves Head

    — Eric Bischoff, who once considered Bret Hart a friend, now views “The Hitman” in a negative light. When asked for comment on the legendary wrestler on Twitter, he responded, “Another sad, bitter person. Too many of them in this business.”

    Bischoff made similar comments two years ago during an interview with Monday Night Mayhem shortly after Hart railed the TNA Wrestling executive producer and Hulk Hogan via Twitter: “I feel sad for Bret, because Bret is one of those people, and there are a lot of them, he’s the type of person that needs someone to hate in order to feel significant himself.”

    Scott Steiner, who parted ways with TNA Wrestling three weeks ago, has continued to fire off messages on Twitter trashing his former employer’s upper hierarchy, particularly Hulk Hogan. In a series of messages posted this weekend, “Big Poppa Pump” addresses Hulk Hogan and Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling drawing a poor rating.

  • Hogan Says Storm Needs To Hurt Roode, Knockout Shoots Film

    — SoCal Val catches up with Impact Wrestling General Manager Hulk Hogan as he arrives at Nashville airport for Sunday’s Lockdown pay-per-view event.
