Hulk Hogan Teases Getting His Hands On Ric Flair At WWE Crown Jewel

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan continues to try to get fans excited for a potential physical encounter with fellow pro wrestling legend Ric Flair.

This past Monday on RAW saw Flair and Hogan tease one final showdown but eventually announced that they would have two teams square off at the upcoming WWE Crown Jewel PPV as a 5-on-5 tag team match took place.

Hogan took to his official Twitter account where he teased mixing it up with Flair and potentially changing the match to a 6-on-6 tag team match.

“I can guarantee I will get my hands on Flair one more time at Crown Jewel even if I have to make it a 6 on 6 match brother, by the way I still have one more leg drop left in me brother HH #Ricflair #WWERaw #Crownjewel.”

WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins will serve as the captain of Team Hogan while Randy Orton will serve as the captain of Team Flair.

Rusev will also be on Team Hogan while Baron Corbin will be on the opposite team. More stars for the teams will be announced in the coming weeks.

Hulk Hogan Discusses Never Being Able To Wrestle Again

Hogan and Flair never wrestled against each other under the WWE banner in a singles match but did for WCW and even TNA Wrestling. They also headlined a pair of shows in Australia.

It will be interesting to see how far WWE lets Hogan and Flair go at this show.

The country is slated to hold 11 festivals during these two months as a way to boost domestic and international tourism in the country.

WWE started their deal with Saudi Arabia last year as the company signed a 10-year partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority.

The following matches, which will likely be dark matches for the live crowd in attendance, are being advertised to take place:

  • Universal Champion Seth Rollins vs “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt
  • RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair vs SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks

It should be noted that Rollins will defend his title on the show by facing the winner of a Fatal 5-Way #1 Contender’s match on Monday’s RAW.

This comes at an interesting time for Hogan and Flair as the two stars are slated to appear just days later on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX.

Ric Flair Lists His Top Three Performers Of All Time

Ric Flair has revealed who he believes to be the top three performers of all time. He shared his views during a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, where he was discussing this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW which saw “Stone Cold” Steve Austin returning to Madison Square Garden.

“The only problem with bringing Steve out there, who will always, in my estimation, be the biggest star in the history of the business,” Flair said. “The three biggest […] in my estimation are Hulk, Steve, and ‘Taker. They’re just three names that are gonna be synonymous, they’ve drawn huge amounts of money. But when you send Steve out there, just like they did at the RAW reunion, man, it’s just…what are you going to do? He’s unbelievable.”

He added that, if Austin hadn’t gotten injured, forcing him to retire “ten years too early,” “Stone Cold” would probably still be performing today.

Flair has previously stated that if he and Austin were able to feud with each other during their prime, he has no doubt they would have set box office records everywhere.

Austin was involved in a contract signing segment on Monday between WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins and his opponent at Clash of Champions, Braun Strowman.

Police Officer Under Investigation For Driving Hulk Hogan Onto Airport Tarmac

Earlier this month, Hulk Hogan was chauffeured onto the tarmac at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. Hogan thanked the Chicago PD for giving him a lift on his Facebook page but now the police department has launched an investation into the officer who did so.

Video of Hogan being driven onto the tarmac at the airport can be viewed below:

Chicago PD Investigation Into Officer Who Drove Hulk Hogan Onto Airport Tarmac

The Chicago PD has announced the officer in question has lost his privileges to drive onto the airport tarmac but would not comment on if the officer has been relieved of duty. The department’s Bureau of Internal Affairs has opened an investigation into the incident, however.

“The activity and behavior demonstrated in that video poses a significant risk to the officers and overall aviation safety on the airfield,” said police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. “The superintendent was furious about what he saw.”

Jimmy “the Mouth of the South” Hart was also in the car with Hogan at the time.

“We’re going to Rosemont Horizon, baby,” Jimmy Hart can be heard saying in the video. “It’s where all the memories are made by Hulkamania! Years and years ago.”

Hulk Hogan Reflects On Vince McMahon Squashing His Idea To Be Called Triple H

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan talked about a wide range of interesting topics during his recent appearance on The Steve Austin Podcast.

One story he told was involving a decision that could’ve changed the course of history in more than one way. The Ultimate Warrior dethroned Hulk Hogan to win the WWE Championship in the headliner of WrestleMania 6 on April 1, 1990, at the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The idea was that this win would make Warrior the top guy, which ultimately failed. Hogan thought the build-up to the match was pretty good but when it got time to discuss the finish of the match, things got interesting.

Hogan asked why Warrior was going over and what happens next for him once being informed that Warrior was going over.

Hogan recalled “Vince saying, ‘I think the red and yellow is over, we have gotten everything we can out of it.’”

Hogan responded by telling him what if he pointed to God after the match then turn heel on Warrior by attacking him. This would allow him to call himself Triple H, Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

“Vince said, ‘that would never work and you can’t be a heel.’ So, he squashed that.”

Hogan left WWE to join World Championship Wrestling in the 1990s, and he worked in TNA Wrestling for a few years.

While he’s always had a back and forth relationship with the company, it appears that things are on good terms between the two sides.

Hulk Hogan Reveals He Almost Died During Stem Cell Treatment Procedure

Hulk Hogan was a guest recently on Steve Austin’s podcast and revealed he almost died after traveling to Mexico for stem cell treatment.

Hogan was talking about avoiding pain pills by using CBD, supplements and stem cell procedures when Austin asked him where he goes for stem cell treatment.

“I was going down to Guadalajara but I had a Joan Rivers moment down there where they almost lost me on the table,” Hogan said. “Right now I’m going to Tampa Rejuvination Center here in Tampa but when I first started going down to Mexico, they took the bone marrow out of my hips, spun the blood and hit me with the stem cells the first time and I was fine.”

Future treatments were not as successful, however.

Hulk Hogan Stem Cell Treatment in Guadalajara

“Then they took my stem cells to LA and they colonized them, they grew the stem cells and when I went back to Guadalajara there was a 24 hour window when the doctor left LA, I had to meet him there and have them injected within 24 hours.”

This injection, however, led to a medical emergency.

“As soon as they put the needle in my arm, my eyes rolled back, it felt like I had 25 elephants sitting on me,” Hogan continued. “Thank god my wife was there because nobody spoke English but she read my eyes.”

“We found out later that they had soaked the stem cells in DSMO so they wouldn’t crystallize when they froze them and I’m allergic to DSMO.”

Hogan would continue to say if his wife hadn’t been there, he could have been in real trouble. He said the stem cells help his back quite a bit but the effects are not long-lasting.

Hulk Hogan Opens Up About Altercation With “Macho Man” Randy Savage Over Miss Elizabeth

The “Macho Man” Randy Savage was famously intense, often blending the lines between his real-life and pro wrestling personalities. One common denominator existed between the two facets that comprised Savage and his well-documented jealousy: Miss Elizabeth.

Speaking with Steve Austin on his podcast, The Steve Austin Show, Hulk Hogan recounted an incident in Paris between himself and the late “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

“When I first met Randy, man, he was the best at everything. I loved working with him. The only really b***h we had was in Paris, France one night,” Hogan said. “Elizabeth was my manager, and we went to the ring in Paris. There were no steps. Elizabeth was probably 95 or 100 pounds soaking wet. So I reached over the top rope, reached all the way over where she’s standing next to me, and grabbed her by the armpits. I picked her all the way up, she had a dress on, and put her in the ring.”

Randy Savage took issue with this, claiming that Hogan had inappropriately touched Elizabeth whilst lifting her into the ring.

He remembered Randy saying “‘You son of a b*tch you grabbed her boobs’… We walk up and he grabs a headlock on me, but he puts that side headlock on me. I’m hanging in—I’m hanging in there—and I didn’t want my eyeball to pop out, so I grab his waist and I squeezed. ‘Randy, if you don’t let go, I’m going to dump you on your head.’”

“He was so pissed at me,” Hogan recalled. “The match sucked; we had a horrible match… We went back to the dressing room in Paris, and I walked in. I said, ‘Randy, we need to talk right now.’ I reached to open the door, and when I pulled the door I ripped it off the hinges. The door was so old and so rotted by termites… So, me and Randy went in the back and [he said] ‘Hey, man, I’m sorry I got mad.’ I said, ‘Randy, I’m sorry too. I didn’t mean to touch her inappropriately – there were no steps.’ But I think the door is the thing that kind of cooled everything down, it was hanging on by a thread.”

Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage would ultimately feud after their Mega Powers tag team split because of Savage’s increasing paranoia and jealousy over Hogan and Elizabeth. The two would clash in the main event of WrestleMania V, with Hogan walking away victorious.

Hulk Hogan Discusses Never Being Able To Wrestle Again

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was recently a guest on the Steve Austin Show podcast hosted by “Stone Cold” where he spoke about a wide range of topics including his history of surgeries.

Hogan opened up on the surgeries and health issues that he has had over the years. This is where the pro wrestling legend talked about why he will never wrestle again.

Hogan talked about how he went in for one back surgery but it turned into having nine back surgeries. Once he did one surgery, it was “game over” for him.

“I was hoping that if they cut on my back one time, I’d have the fusion like Shawn Michaels and I could keep going.” The doctors wanted him to try everything else first, which he did.

He recalled going to a place called Laser Spine where they cut him six times and they basically took him out of the game as they cut too much bone away. “Things went awry after the first six surgeries and then the last three surgeries.”

Hulk Hogan Talks Vince Sr. Firing Him For Filming Rocky III

Hogan added that he was down for about a year and a half. “I can’t wrestle again, but I’m really cool other than this darn arthritis kicking in and I’m gonna be 66 years old in a week.”

Hogan has been a household name in the world of professional wrestling for decades now. He has wrestled some of the biggest names in the history of pro wrestling.

Although he has a long-lasting relationship with the company, there have been some hiccups between the two sides throughout the years. After being away from WWE for a few years, he is back in the family.

Hulk Hogan Recalls Vince Sr. Firing Him For ‘Rocky III’ Role

Hulk Hogan was a guest recently on Steve Austin’s podcast. The two talked about Hogan’s long career in the wrestling business including an interesting story regarding the time Vince McMahon Sr. fired Hogan for performing in the movie Rocky III.

“The mindset back then wasn’t like it is now,” Hogan responded when Austin asked him why he got fired from WWF for filming Rocky III. “That we want Stone Cold to do his TV show and we want Stone Cold to do Expendables and we want the Rock to do… Back then, 78-79, if you were a wrestler you didn’t do TV, you didn’t go do a movie, if you were a wrestler you were a wrestler.”

Hogan started performing as a heel in Vince Sr’s promotion in 1979. He would leave in 1980 due to the conflict over his filming of Rocky III. Afterward, he performed in Japan, and would also end up in the AWA by 1981.

Hogan’s popularity ended up exploding because of the film but Verne Gagne was hesitant to put the title on him because he didn’t have a legitimate wrestling background. As a result, Hogan ended up going back to New York, this time signing with Vince McMahon Jr. and kick-starting Hulkamania and the wrestling boom of the 1980s.

Hulk Hogan on Vince Sr. Firing Him

Hogan and Austin would continue to talk about how at first, Hogan didn’t believe he was being offered the part in Sylvester Stallone’s movie.

“Vince Sr. fired me for doing the movie because you weren’t supposed to do movies or TV shows back then,” Hogan continued. He then talked about going to Japan after and enjoying that as he had a girlfriend over there. Hogan ended up in Minneapolis working for Verne Gagne in the AWA shortly after as well.

Stallone has talked about Hogan’s portrayal of Thunderlips in the film as well. He said that Hogan put multiple guys in the hospital during production of the film. Stallone made the comments in an Instagram post:

Hulk Hogan Reveals Several Stars Who Could Be Next Breakout Talent In WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan did an interview with ESPN following the WWE RAW Reunion special on Monday night where he spoke about a wide range of topics.

During the interview, he talked about how there are several stars who have the potential to be the next big Superstar in WWE. This was after he was impressed with a lot of the current talent.

Hogan started out by stating that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon is always looking for that one big attraction. He brought up seeing all of the young stars and how there are so many of them that are fighting to grab that brass ring.

“You’ve got the ‘Scottish Psychopath’ (Drew McIntyre) that’s running around like a crazy man. Of course you’ve got AJ Styles. Then you’ve got Ricochet, who’s making an impression on everyone. I’m still betting on Kevin Owens, he’s my boy. I’m a huge John Cena fan. He’s my favorite wrestler. He’s doing a lot of movies, so I’m disappointed that I can’t throw John Cena back into the picture for the world title.”

Hogan would then bring up the women as he noted that Charlotte Flair is setting this bar so high that Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, or Andre The Giant would have a hard time catching up to her.

“She is blowing the roof off of this place because she’s got it all. It’s just amazing. You’ve got a handful to pick from. I sure wish I was Vince McMahon with all this talent.”

Becky Lynch Shuts Down Hulk Hogan Suggesting Legends Should Take Over WWE At Raw Reunion

The WWE RAW Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, isn’t impressed with a tweet recently uploaded by Hulk Hogan.

In the original tweet, Hogan admired the colors of the the sunset. He commented on the blend of yellow, red, and black.

It was then that he apparently had the “crazy thought” that all of the RAW Reunion Superstars in attendance for tonight’s RAW special should get together, say ‘enough is enough,’ and just take over the whole WWE. Their intention? To rule it for life.

Her response was curt and to the point, as she replied: “Yeah, that doesn’t work for me, Brother.”

Take Over 4 Life

“The Immortal” Hulk Hogan’s original message read:

“For some reason, I saw this last night I thought of the #RawReunion, brother ,the red/yellow/black color scheme made my mind kick start with a crazy thought, what if the Reunion Superstars got together and said enough is enough and just took over the whole WWE and Ruled4 Life. HH”

With a cavalcade of former legends and Superstars in attendance for tonight’s Reunion special, it’s not out of the question that Hogan and Lynch might cross paths.

Becky Lynch is scheduled to defend her WWE RAW Women’s Championship against Natalya at SummerSlam, which takes place on August 11th from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.

Hulk Hogan Talks IWGP Heavyweight Title Run

WWE legend and Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is often referred to as a 12 time World Champion. Hogan won 6 World Titles during his run in the WWF/WWE and 6 Titles during his time in World Championship Wrestling/WCW.

Hogan took to Twitter today to mention that he is in fact a 13 time World Champion. The Hulkster wrote that “people always say I was 12 times champion but why does everyone forget that I was the first IWGP Heavyweight Champ, brother?! Make it 13 times Champ brother HH.”

For fans of modern day New Japan Pro Wrestling this may come as a surprise. However unlike some of Hogan’s ‘facts’ this is, in fact, true. However the original IWGP Heavyweight Championship was very different to the title held today by Kazuchika Okada. Hogan won the IWGP League back in 1983 defeating Antonio Inoki in the final and becoming the first Champion. The belt was however only defended once a year, as Hulk lost to Inoki at the next year’s tournament. When the tournament was changed in 1987 the original title was retired and the modern IWGP belt was created.

The reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada will be defending his Championship against Chris Jericho on June 9th at Dominion in Osaka, Japan

Hogan appeared at the Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia late last year as well.

Hulk Hogan To Induct Brutus Beefcake Into The WWE Hall Of Fame

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is set to induct former WWE star and good friend Brutus Beefcake into this year’s class of the Hall of Fame.

WWE made the news public on Thursday in a statement posted on their official website. This news also ended the speculation on inductors being done away with this year.

WWE touted in the announce that “Hogan and Beefcake first joined forces in 1989, headlining that year’s SummerSlam against “Macho King” Randy Savage and the monstrous Zeus and later stepping into a Steel Cage to battle the ruthless duo. When Beefcake returned to the ring after a parasailing accident that nearly ended his life, Hogan was literally in “The Barber’s” corner, joining forces with him to form The Mega Maniacs, a duo that battled then-World Tag Team Champions Money Inc. at WrestleMania IX.”

Hulk Hogan was reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame last summer after a 3-year hiatus from the company. He returned to WWE television at Crown Jewel in November. He most recently appeared on Monday Night Raw to pay tribute to the late “Mean” Gene Okerlund.

WWE WrestleMania 35 takes place Sunday, April 7th from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

Hulk Hogan Discusses Being Back With WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is back in good with WWE officials including WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon.

While at a “Be A Star” anti-bullying rally at the Grace Salesian Boys & Girls Club in Tampa, Florida, Hogan spoke with Jim Varsallone of The Miami Herald about his return to WWE.

This is where he was quoted by stating that, “It’s really cool to be back, I’m in and out all the time. I’ve quit. I’ve been fired, I quit, I’ve been fired. It’s great to be back, you know? It’s just really fun being home with these guys. It’s really, really cool.”

Hogan was recently back in the spotlight when he appears on the January 7th episode of RAW in Orlando, FL to reflect on the life and career of the late great fellow WWE Hall of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund.

This only marked his second appearance on WWE programming in years. His first appearance with the company took place once he appeared as the host of the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event.

He was reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame last summer after Hogan was fired from WWE in the summer of 2015 after racially charged comments from a sex tape came to light.

Hulk Hogan Opens Up On His WWE Future

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has opened up on his future with the WWE.

This comes after he appeared earlier this week at the WrestleMania 36 press conference which was held to announce that the event would be hosted by Tampa Bay on April 5, 2020 at the Raymond James Stadium.

While doing a recent interview with the Tampa Bay Times where he was asked what his future holds with the company. The former WWE Champion made it known that he can’t wrestle anymore but doesn’t mind being the Babe Ruth of the promotion.

“I’m not really sure,” Hogan stated. ”I can’t wrestle anymore because nine back surgeries, two fake knees, two fake hips. … I’ve had 17 surgeries in the last ten years. I kinda missed the memo on the ‘fake’ part [of wrestling] … Vince [McMahon] has this master plan.

And I don’t mind being the hood ornament, and I don’t mind being the Babe Ruth of the promotion, but Vince is putting together a whole new thing. … I still feel like I’m 20 in my head, but my body’s telling me, ‘Easy, brother.’ I’m not sure what the title is, but hopefully really soon I’ll be back and really, really active.”

Hogan was recently back in the spotlight when he appears on the January 7th episode of RAW in Orlando, FL to reflect on the life and career of the late great fellow WWE Hall of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund.

Jim Ross: Charlotte Flair Is A Modern Day Hulk Hogan

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross sees Charlotte Flair as a modern day Hulk Hogan and the lynchpin of WWE’s Women’s division.

On the latest episode of the Jim Ross Report podcast, JR analyzed Charlotte’s promo from this week’s SmackDown Live. In doing so, he raved about how far she’s come and compares Charlotte to one of WWE’s biggest stars of all time.

“She’s the female version of what Hulk Hogan was to the WWE in the 80s,” Ross says. “She’s that strong. She’s that over, that big, that impressive.”

Ross goes on to say that just as Flair has been a building block in the women’s division, she could play just as big a role in the company as a whole.

“You can build around her. You can build a brand around her. I’ve said this before, and people got pissed off,” he says. “They said I screwed her dad.”

Ross was a big fan of Charlotte’s mic work, and her overall presentation on Smackdown.

“Charlotte had a great promo, in the sense that she looked regal,” says Ross. “She looked majestic. From her attire, to her shoes, all the way to her hair. She looked like I am the woman in this company. She’s a hell of a talent. She’s statuesque.”

He added, “She did really well. She looked strong. She looked like a top star, as she is.”

Listen to JR’s comments in context below.

‘Thor’ Star Chris Hemsworth to Play Hulk Hogan in New Biopic

Chris Hemsworth will be saying his prayers and eating his vitamins, brother.

The 35-year old Aussie best known for portraying Thor in numerous Marvel films including the upcoming ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is expected to portray Hulk Hogan in an upcoming biopic that will be directed by Todd Phillips.

Phillips will direct the feature about Hulk Hogan’s life with Scott Silver attached to write the script after the two just worked together on the upcoming ‘Joker’ movie starring Joaquin Phoenix.

The news comes courtesy of the Hollywood Reporter.

The film is expected to be made for Netflix with Academy Award winning producer Michael Sugar behind the project alongside Phillips, Bradley Cooper and former WCW executive Eric Bischoff on board as producers as well.

Hogan came to prominence in the early 1980’s as part of the World Wrestling Federation under the guidance of Vince McMahon.

Hogan became a pop culture icon during the 80’s with his All-American theme and frequent battles against the likes of the Iron Sheik, Andre the Giant and “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

In recent years, Hogan has stayed in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons including an infamous sex-tape scandal as well as racist remarks that were made by the former WWE superstar that essentially got him booted from any association with the company.

The biopic isn’t expected to dig into Hogan’s issues outside the ring over the past few years, however, and instead will stay focused on his rise to fame and the explosion of ‘Hulkamania’ during his prime years in the 1980’s.

Hogan is also expected to serve as a consultant on the project.

This will be the latest big budget project for Hemsworth after his starring role in three ‘Thor’ movies as well as four ‘Avengers’ films with the latest due out in April. Hemsworth also stars in the upcoming ‘Men in Black: International’, which comes out in June.

Hulk Hogan Says He’s Too Old To Wrestle Again, Talks Gene Okerlund’s Passing

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was recently back in the spotlight when he appears on the January 7th episode of RAW in Orlando, FL at the Amway Center on the USA Network. “The Hulker” walked down to the ring where he would cut a promo to reflect on the life and career of the late great fellow WWE Hall of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund.

Hogan spoke with People about various topics including here he is in life today vs. then, which is when he stated that people are all human and they make mistakes. In his mind, it all comes down to forgiving people and learning and growing.

He admitted that he’s not in the same place a decade ago and when he said stupid comments, that’s not who he is.

When asked potentially returning to the ring as a wrestler, Hogan stated, “I’m too old to wrestle. I embarrassed myself enough out there by moving too slow, so I don’t want to get back in there again.  I don’t think I could. I could probably wrestle somebody like John Cena or Vince McMahon, but as soon as I’d be done they’d be taking me straight to the hospital to fix something … the body’s too worn out for that.”

Hogan also talked about how his appearance on RAW came when Vince McMahon contacted him about it. While reflecting on hearing about Okerlund’s passing, Hogan said, “It felt like my Adam’s apple went backward or something, I couldn’t catch my breath. I guess my wife thought I was having a heart attack. It hit me so hard cause I just talked to him a couple weeks before about getting together the weekend when I came back from New Years.”

Hulk Hogan Discusses Possibility Of Kenny Omega Signing With WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was in the news this week once he appeared on this week’s Monday Night RAW episode and is back in the headlines after doing a recent interview with Sports Illustrated.

In this discussion, the pro wrestling legend gave his take on the future of former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega and if WWE is the right fit for him.

Omega made big news this week once he mentioned that he was “stepping away” from NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling) which led to speculation that he could be headed to the WWE or potentially sign with AEW. Hogan talked about what he thinks it would mean if Omega decided to join the WWE.

“It’s tough to go your whole life without eating at McDonald’s or riding in a Chevrolet,” said Hogan. “If you don’t touch on the WWE, the story’s not complete. But maybe Kenny could be the exception.”

It should be noted that Omega is still under contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling until his contract expires on January 31.

Hogan would continue by talking about how just like with Omega, he started to become a big star in Japan. He would reflect on his journey in the country back in 1978 and how he fell in love with it but mentioned how times were different back then. You can read the full interview here.

Hulk Hogan Returns On WWE RAW To Honor Gene Okerlund

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan made his return on this week’s episode of RAW in Orlando, FL at the Amway Center on the USA Network.

“The Hulker” walked down to the ring where he would cut a promo to reflect on the life and career of the late great fellow WWE Hall of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund. There was a touching video package shown to highlight the career of Okerlund.

This only marked his second appearance on WWE programming in years. His first appearance with the company took place once he appeared as the host of the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in early November at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At the show, he cut a promo in the ring where he talked about being back in front of the WWE Universe.

He was reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame last summer after Hogan was fired from WWE in the summer of 2015 after racially charged comments from a sex tape came to light.

WWE Hall Of Famer Reportedly Set For Raw (Potential Spoiler)

WWE could be bringing in another big name for this Monday’s Raw. According to a report from PW Insider, Ric Flair is booked for the show. WWE is bringing Hulk Hogan in for the show as well, reportedly as part of a planned tribute for “Mean” Gene Okerlund.

Ric Flair Pays Tribute To “Mean” Gene Okerlund

Flair is likely coming in to pay tribute to “Mean” Gene Okerlund. He paid tribute to his friend earlier this week as well. Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Flair said the following:

“Friend would be too generic a term for us,” said Flair. “We were more than friends, we were brothers. We were tied to each other for years. If I was going somewhere, and I knew Gene Okerlund was there, I made sure I found him.”

“In my opinion, Gene Okerlund added more entertainment to the business than anybody. Gene made our product better. You can be good at what you do, but Gene was so good that he made the people around him better. Gene brought that to every segment he was on for his entire career. It’s hard to explain how much talent he had. Gene was entertainment-ready, witty beyond belief, sophisticated, and I’ve never seen anybody else like him.”

Ric Flair On Raw

This Monday’s show will take place from the Amway Center in Orlando, Fl. Also booked for the show is John Cena’s return to Raw. Cena was also on last week’s Smackdown. The Revival will take on Roode and Gable in a lumberjack match for the Raw tag titles this week as well. Alexa Bliss will also debut a new talk show “A Moment of Bliss” on this week’s show.
