Zelina Vega Injured, Out of WWE Speed Women’s Title Tournament

Zelina Vega is out of action for the time being, halting the LWO star’s quest for the WWE Speed Women’s Championship. During the latest episode of WWE’s X-exclusive program, Vega was scheduled to face Natalya. However, B-Fab stepped in as a replacement, taking on the Canadian veteran instead.

Corey Graves explained on commentary that B-Fab replaced Vega due to an injury. The match ended with Natalya defeating B-Fab with just 22 seconds remaining, advancing her to the next round of the tournament to determine Candice LeRae’s next challenger.

This marks a significant setback for the 34-year-old Vega, who celebrated her birthday earlier this week. She last competed for a championship on July 1, when she challenged Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship on WWE Raw. While Vega has yet to claim singles championship gold in WWE, she held the Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Carmella from November 2021 to April 2022.

WWE has not yet provided details on Vega’s injury or a timeline for her return, leaving fans eager for updates on the popular Superstar. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest news on Zelina Vega and her status in the WWE Speed Women’s Title Tournament.

Bronson Reed Undergoing Surgery Today After Survivor Series Injury

WWE star Bronson Reed has confirmed that he’ll be undergoing surgery today after suffering an injury during the Survivor Series 2024 event.

The heavyweight star teamed up with Solo Sikoa and his cousins to take on the OG Bloodline and CM Punk in a WarGames match on the show. He suffered the injury while attempting a daring dive from the top of the cage on Roman Reigns through a table.

Reed went through the table alone after Punk saved Reigns at the last minute. WWE previously confirmed that the Australian star suffered a broken foot from the fall. The 36-year-old then took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal that he’ll be undergoing surgery this week. He has since confirmed that the surgery was successful and he is officially on the road to recovery:

Bronson Reed wasn’t the only one who suffered real damage during the brutal PPV match. Both Jimmy Uso and Tonga Loa also suffered injuries during the bout.

Uso, who broke his toe is expected to be out of action for only a few weeks. He’ll likely be back in the ring in late December or early January. Tonga Loa on the other hand suffered a torn biceps and like Bronson Reed, he’ll have to undergo surgery.

A concrete timetable for both Loa and Reed’s return will only become clear after their surgeries. Though they are expected to be out of action for a few months and both the stars are likely to miss WrestleMania 41.

Injury Updates: Tonga Loa Undergoes Surgery, Bronson Reed and Jimmy Uso Out Indefinitely

WWE has announced that three competitors from the recent Survivor Series WarGames match have sustained significant injuries.

Tonga Loa suffered a torn biceps during the event and has undergone successful surgery. He is expected to be sidelined indefinitely.

Bronson Reed incurred a broken foot, reportedly from executing a splash off the top of the cage. Surgery is planned, and he will also be out of action indefinitely.

Jimmy Uso sustained a broken toe during the match. His injury was confirmed during the post-event press conference, and he is currently sidelined with no specified return date.

These injuries were highlighted in a segment on WWE SmackDown, which included x-rays and images of the affected areas.

Bronson Reed Needs Ankle Surgery For WarGames Injury

Bronson Reed is set to be sidelined due to an injury sustained during his most recent WWE match. Reed suffered a right ankle injury after leaping off the top of the cage during the WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series.

The event, which took place six days ago, featured a star-studded main event lineup: Roman Reigns, The Usos (Jey and Jimmy Uso), Sami Zayn, and CM Punk battling The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa). Reed was part of The Bloodline team, who ultimately lost to the babyface team.

The word going around WWE suggests that Reed will undergo surgery next week to address his injury, according to PWInsider. Prior to the setback, WWE had scheduled him to face Seth Rollins in a series of steel cage matches during the company’s post-holiday tour.

Jimmy Uso was also injured during the match, breaking a toe during his own high-risk leap from the cage.

The Rollins-Reed feud has been a highlight on WWE television in recent months, marking a pivotal moment in Reed’s career. The rivalry, intertwined with WWE’s most compelling storyline, helped elevate Reed’s status with fans.

We wish Bronson Reed a speedy recovery and look forward to his return to the ring.

Bryan Danielson’s Neck ‘Feels Like A Bobblehead’ As Surgery Awaits

Bryan Danielson has shared a concerning update about his ongoing neck issues, comparing his neck problems to being like a bobblehead. Speaking on the Nikki and Brie Show podcast, the former AEW World Champion spoke openly about his issues.

We don’t know what’s going to happen with my neck, but it honestly feels like I have a bobblehead.”

Despite these issues, Danielson made clear that he’s avoiding saying the dreaded ‘retirement’ word, with his recent feud with Swerve Strickland being the exception. The American Dragon added that while his in-ring career may not be fully over yet, he has grave concerns about getting back in the ring.

I can’t find the excitement and nervousness of wrestling, where something could go wrong at any moment.”

Brie shared that Bryan still needs to undergo surgery, something Danielson disclosed in the build-up to All In: London. Brie also wanted to give a “big post” when Bryan’s full-time career wrapped at WrestleDream, but Bryan himself said no, arguing that wrestlers never truly retire for good.

Neck issues are nothing new for Danielson who had to retire in 2016 as part of WWE and would miss two years of in-ring action. On the podcast, Bryan explained how he didn’t want to retire at the time, and it was hard for him to walk away, and to see “everybody” move on without him.

While Tony Khan has been optimistic that Danielson will be return to action in a part-time capacity, the American Dragon received a “beautiful funeral” at WrestleDream as far as Jon Moxley is concerned. Keep checking in with SEScoops for the latest on Danielson for when, if ever, fans see him in the ring again.

Jade Cargill Attack: Injury Details, Suspects, Future Plans

During the November 22, WWE SmackDown, footage revealed that Jade Cargill had been laid out in the parking lot and was left bruised and bloodied on the hood of a smashed car. The beating was so bad that Bianca Belair abandoned her Women’s U.S. Championship tournament match to check on her friend and tag-team partner. WWE would follow up after SmackDown by giving a painful update on Cargill.

Legitimately Injured

While the attack on Cargill was part of the show, the reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion is actually out of action. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has confirmed that Cargill is hurt and will be out for three months and potentially longer. WWE’s storyline injuries are mirroring Cargill’s real situation.

Who Attacked Jade Cargill?

WWE wasted no time in making the attack a whodunnit, with Nick Aldis questioning Nia Jax during the latest SmackDown about her potential involvement in what happened. The reigning WWE Women’s Champion has pointed the finger of suspicion at Naomi, who has denied that she tried to take out her ‘sis.’

Impact On WWE’s Plans

Cargill had been scheduled to compete inside WarGames at this weekend’s Survivor Series, and she has since been replaced by Bayley. The match would’ve been Cargill’s first WarGames and would’ve seen her team with Belair, Naomi, IYO SKY, and Rhea Ripley to face Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae.

A huge question looming now is what this will mean for Jade and Belair’s tenure as Women’s Tag Team Champions. In 2023 the titles were stripped from Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan when the latter went down with an injury. However, that same year, Sonya Deville went down with an injury and Chelsea Green remained a champion after replacing her partner with Piper Niven.

Belair’s injury has also seen her be replaced in the Women’s U.S. Title Tournament. Jade had been scheduled to face Michin and Piper Niven in her first-round match.

WrestleMania Comeback?

If Cargill is off for three months, then her return window will open around late February, in the middle of the road to WrestleMania 41. WWE could build up her comeback for the two-night spectacle and give the popular star a return that fans will remember at WrestleMania for years to come, potentially against her assailant. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Cargill and details about who attacked the Women’s Tag Team Champion.

Swerve Strickland Shares Concerning X-Ray Image Before AEW Full Gear

Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland raised eyebrows on Monday when he posted an x-ray image to social media, accompanied by the caption “These Hurt Syndicate beatings take a toll.”

While the image doesn’t appear to show any clear fractures or dislocations, the timing is concerning with Strickland’s high-profile match against the Hurt Syndicate’s Bobby Lashley looming at Full Gear this Saturday.

Lashley is set to make his AEW debut against Strickland in what promises to be a hard-hitting affair. Given Strickland’s reputation as one of professional wrestling’s toughest competitors, the match is expected to proceed as planned barring any official announcement to the contrary.

More details about Strickland’s condition may emerge during this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

MVP Reacts to Swerve’s X-Ray

MVP retweeted a fan who said the Hurt Syndicate lives up to its name, yet another dig at Swerve before Full Gear.

Kevin Nash Withdraws from MCW Meet & Greet Events Due to Back Issues

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash has called off a couple of appearances for MCW Pro Wrestling The Maryland-based indie wrestling promotion shared a message from Nash on social media.

The veteran wrestler stated that he was dealing with herniated discs in his back. Nash further revealed that he had been in therapy and working with doctors. Unfortunately, it is impossible for him to travel for his Meet & Greet appearances on November 9th and 10th.

“Big Sexy” further said that he was in too much pain to take a flight but he did not take medication for the pain. Kevin Nash then apologized to everyone and said that he had a long road ahead of him to recuperate.

MCW announced that WWE Hall of Famers Booker T and John Bradshaw Layfield will replace Nash at their events on November 9th and November 10th.

“We understand this change may be disappointing for some, but we’re excited to have two legendary replacements in Booker T and JBL, who are ready to deliver an unforgettable experience.”

In September, Kevin Nash had revealed that he underwent an MRI for back pain. Nash made it clear that there was no notable strain on his back but still he recently started suffering from severe back pain. The WWE Hall of Famer had then disclosed that an MRI found herniated discs were due to competing inside the squared circle for decades.

During his Kliq This podcast, he said:

“I had sciatica, and it didn’t go away, and I went and got an MRI, and I’ve got a couple herniated discs, and that ain’t from anything except cumulative damage to doing that ‘fake’ bullsh*t, landing on wood, with a 300-pound guy landing on top of you.”

Kevin Nash also recently teased getting involved in NXT during a show next month. However, his role on the show is yet to be revealed.

Steph De Lander provides injury update

TNA Impact star Steph De Lander recently shared an encouraging update on her recovery from neck surgery. Speaking on The Commentary Booth podcast, De Lander opened up about her progress, noting that she’s feeling better than expected just two weeks after the procedure. While recovery from neck surgery can be complex, De Lander expressed optimism about her progress and relief at addressing her health proactively.

Two weeks into her recovery, De Lander reported, “I feel great.” While she’s still in the early stages of healing, she noted that her initial progress has been promising. The procedure left her with a small incision, currently covered with bandages, but no complications have emerged. As she expressed, taking preventive action was a vital step to ensure her long-term health, allowing her to focus on a safe return to the ring.

Why Neck Surgery Was Necessary

In her podcast appearance, De Lander explained that her surgery was a preventative measure to address a nagging neck issue that could have worsened over time. “Neck injuries can be very, very dangerous,” she said, highlighting the need to manage such issues before they become serious.

By opting for surgery now, she hopes to avoid more significant injuries in the future and aim for a full recovery. Although feeling well just weeks after surgery, De Lander acknowledged that her road to full recovery is ongoing.

What’s Next for Steph De Lander?

As De Lander continues her recovery, fans eagerly await updates on her return to TNA. Her successful surgery marks an important step, and she’s determined to make a comeback.

It is not known when she will be returning to TNA, but it is likely going to be well into 2025 at this point.

Latest on Chris Bey’s Neck Injury and How You Can Help

During the post-Bound for Glory tapings of TNA Impact, Chris Bey of ABC suffered a serious injury during a tag-team match against Matt and Jeff Hardy. After an awkward fall, medical staff rushed to Bey’s aid and after being placed in a neck brace, he was stretchered away from the ring.

Bey underwent neck surgery in a hospital in Detroit, where his tag-team partner Ace Austin, others from TNA, family, and friends have been by his side. On the Extreme Life podcast, Matt Hardy shared that TNA Wrestling has ensured that Bey is being looked after throughout his recovery.

“There have been people that have been donating and giving him money just for his life in the weeks and months ahead, however long it takes him to recuperate from this so he doesn’t have to worry about where his income comes from. Yes, TNA is taking care of the expenses, but it’s just to make sure that he’s safe and focused on himself. The wrestling community has been so selfless about it, it’s been amazing.”

On TNA’s X account, Bey issued the following statement.

“I just want to take a few moments to extend my heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation for so much and to so many over the past few days. From everyone at TNA Wrestling, to the incredible medical staff here in Detroit, to family, friends and fans worldwide. I know you have been praying for my full recovery from the in-ring accident this past Sunday. Monday was Day One for me on this journey, which I know will be long and challenging. Thanks again for the love and support, and please keep the prayers coming!”

How to Help

TNA is making sure Bey is being cared for, but there are plenty of other ways fans can show their support for Chris during his recovery.

  • A shirt released on Pro Wrestling Tees will see all funds go to Bey during his recovery.
  • The GoFundMe mentioned by Hardy remains active. The fundraiser was made by Bey’s longtime friends Jeremy Sanchez and Stan Victor and has already raised over $80,000
  • TNA is auctioning rare memorabilia, including one-of-a-kind items on eBay with proceeds going to Bey’s recovery.
  • TNA will have numerous fund-raising initiatives to assist Bey at the upcoming tapings on November 8-9 from the Crown Arena in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fans will be able to pick up exclusive Bey pins and limited-edition numbered collector photos.

Bey’s situation is a serious one and we aspire to provide updates as they become public. We at SEScoops are wishing for a full and speedy recovery for the TNA star.

Rhea Ripley Faces Extended Absence After Suffering Legitimate Injury on Raw

Rhea Ripley made a special appearance on this week’s WWE NXT, where she addressed several stars in the women’s division, including ZARIA, who made her in-ring debut for the company. Prior to the main event, we saw a disturbing backstage scene of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez armed with baseball bats, viciously attacking Mami.

The camera followed as Ripley was found lying next to her car, showing a cut on her head with fake blood pouring from the wound. WWE later announced on Wednesday evening that due to the attack, Ripley had suffered a fractured right orbital socket.

Rhea Ripley Update

WWE frequently uses injury storylines to write talent off television for various reasons, such as allowing performers to recover from real injuries or focus on outside entertainment projects.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Rhea Ripley is legitimately dealing with a fractured orbital bone and will be sidelined for the foreseeable future. Although she could potentially return in a non-physical role before being cleared for competition, WWE often opts to keep talent off-screen until they are fully recovered.

How the Injury Occurred

The belief is that Rhea Ripley’s orbital bone was fractured on the October 21 episode of WWE Raw during a spot that involved her head-butting Liv Morgan.

Rhea Ripley Dealing With Real Injury, NXT Angle To Write Her Off (Report)

During this week’s WWE NXT, Rhea Ripley was seen laid out in the infamously dangerous NXT parking lot, the victim of an attack by baseball bat-wielding Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Fans were taken aback by how much blood was shown during the segment, and it’s now reported that the Australian Superstar is dealing with a legitimate injury.

A real injury resulted in this angle being produced, according to PW Insider, but no specifics were given as to what is wrong with Rhea Ripley. Earlier this year, Ripley missed three months of action earlier this year after suffering a shoulder injury during a segment with Liv Morgan. That injury resulted in Ripley vacating the WWE Women’s World Championship, a title that Morgan now holds.

WWE is reporting that Ripley suffered a fractured right orbital socket, which will put Ripley out of action for an undisclosed amount of time. On X, Ripley shared some X-rays and warned Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez that they had made a fatal error in judgment.

Ripley has made it her mission to regain the Women’s World Championship from Morgan, though has been unsuccessful thus far. The Australian came up short at SummerSlam thanks to the betrayal by Dominik Mysterio while the return of Raquel Rodriguez ensured the title didn’t change hands at WWE Bad Blood earlier this month.

This is a huge setback for Ripley who is one of the very top Superstars on Raw and has appeared for both SmackDown and NXT in recent weeks. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Rhea Ripley as we wish her a full an speedy recovery.

Vikingo Vows to Return Stronger Than Ever from Knee Injury

El Hijo Del Vikingo has updated fans on his condition after a scary knee injury at Sunday’s post-Bound for Glory TNA Impact tapings. In his Instagram stories, he wrote:

“Thanks to my brother, Laredo Kid, for accompanying me and keeping an eye on me! I chose this sport, I am happy for the good and the bad. I will recover and come back stronger than ever. Thanks to everyone who sent me a message!”

Vikingo was stretchered out of the October 27th TNA iMPACT! tapings when he suffered a knee injury in his match against Trent Seven.

Vikingo made his return to TNA at Bound For Glory after being sidelined for seven months due to a knee injury. He challenged “Speedball” Mike Bailey for the X-Division Championship. The high-flying flip-fest saw Bailey retain his championship by executing a float-over superplex off the top rope for the victory.

Adam Cole Discusses Mental Challenges of Recovery From Ankle Injury

Adam Cole has had to deal with two very tough injuries in the last couple of years. While the concussion injury in 2023 was a scary one because of all the symptoms, the ankle injury that kept him out for most of 2024 was even more challenging for completely different reasons.

The former NXT Champion recently appeared on The Takedown. He discussed things such as his break up with Britt Baker, his injury turning out much worse than first thought and more.

During the talk, Cole was asked about his injury affecting plans for not only him but his Undisputed Kingdom teammates as well. The 35-year-old explained that even though it was a freak accident, it crushed him to know that his injury affected his friends:

“Oh dude, it crushed me, yeah because exactly what you said. I can handle dealing with my own challenges that I have to deal with. But if it involves affecting other people, that’s a real big problem for me. So that was certainly tough and certainly challenging.

But fortunately all the guys that I work with are the most understanding wonderful dudes in the entire world. So I’m glad I’m close with guys like Roderick Strong and Mike Bennett and Matt Taven. So they understand that freak situations and freak circumstances do happen.”

It Was Really Tough: Adam Cole

Adam Cole was involved in a long-running storyline with MJF prior to his injury. He revealed himself as the mysterious Devil at the Worlds End PPV in December 2023. A reformed version of the Undisputed Kingdom as the Devil’s Masked Men was also revealed under Cole’s leadership.

The group now consisted of Wardlow, Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett, and Matt Taven. The faction has continued being featured on AEW programming in Cole’s absence, but they have been moved out of a prominent spot.

The former ROH Champion explained that the ankle injury was more challenging mentally in many ways compared to his concussion recovery. Though he is very thankful for the support system of his family and friends that helped him stay positive in this time:

“To say this was a challenging time mentally would be an understatement. In a weird way again the concussion injury that I had that was probably the scariest in the sense of like ‘Am I going to be able to come back from this injury?’

But to deal with the ankle injury which took even more time and knowing that it affected other people. Yeah, it was really tough. But again I’m so thankful that I have a great support system around me that includes not just my family but the wrestlers who were involved.”

AEW Star Hologram Confirms Recent Injury

AEW star Hologram has confirmed that he suffered a minor injury during his most recent PPV match at WrestleDream on October 12.

The high-flying star was set to wrestle at the upcoming Galli Lucha show on October 27. The promotion, however, posted a video on Facebook recently to confirm he will be missing the show.

The AEW star who holds the Galli Indiscutible Title was going to defend the championship against Beast Mortos. He confirmed in the video that the match will have to be postponed due to his injury:

“I was looking forward to the show and defend this title (the GALLI Indiscutible Title), but I got injured and I will be out for some weeks.

I would be with you all if it were up to me, but that is not the case per advice from the medics so I will have to postpone that match against Beast Mortos.”

The good news for Hologram fans is that he won’t be out of action for long. The masked star claimed that he is only expected to be out for about two weeks:

“The slightly good news is I won’t be out for that long, just about two weeks. I will try to heal up as soon as I can so I can bring a great spectacle for all of you and be a worthy champion. A hug from the Musketeer of The Air,”

Hologram competed in a 2 out of 3 falls match against The Beast Mortos at the WrestleDream PPV. He picked up the victory over the La Faccion Ingobernable member in the bout. This week’s episode of AEW Collision then saw the Mexican star being attacked by Mortos with Rush and Dralistico.

Braun Strowman Injury: Update Following Raw Setback

Braun Strowman has found himself sidelined following a Last Monster Standing match against Bronson Reed on a recent episode of WWE Raw. During the bout, Reed delivered a superplex to Strowman, causing the ring to collapse. This set the stage for Seth Rollins’ return, as he emerged to hit Reed with a stomp on the steel steps. As a result, Strowman picked up the win.

However, reports soon emerged that Strowman had sustained an injury during the match, believed to be a torn groin. Strowman later confirmed the nature of the injury himself.

Injury Update

The WWE Raw star provided an update in an interview with The Schmo over the weekend, where he served as an honorary starter at a NASCAR playoff race in Las Vegas. Strowman shared that he is still undergoing rehab to recover from his injury.

“Well, they call me the Monster of All Monsters for a reason [laughs],” Strowman said when asked how he’s managing to stay active despite the torn groin. “It’s unfortunate, but that’s part of the job. We know we’re not signing up for water polo or ballet, so things happen in our sport. The show goes on, and you’ve got to suck it up and get it done.”

Strowman mentioned that while he has been off for the past few weeks, he is continuing his rehabilitation. “I’m flying back to Orlando to get more rehab this week, then next week we’re in Hershey, PA, before heading to Saudi Arabia for the big one [Crown Jewel].”

We wish him a speedy recovery.

AJ Styles Reveals Lisfranc Injury: “I’m Cooked”

AJ Styles’ long-awaited return to WWE SmackDown turned tragic on October 4, when he suffered an injury during a match with Carmelo Hayes. WWE later announced that Styles had suffered a mid-foot ligament sprain but now the two-time former WWE World Champion has shared more on his condition.

With his injury coming so soon after his return, some have speculated as to whether this situation is a ‘work’ to build towards something big. When a fan shared that opinion on Twitter/X, Styles made clear that this situation is very real.

A separate fan brought up how this injury can derail careers, as it did with Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers in 2016. Styles acknowledged the seriousness of the matter with some lingo from ‘the kids.’

Lisfranc Injury: The Facts

A Lisfranc injury occurs when one of more of the metatarsal bones in the foot are displaced from the tarsus. The injury is named after Jacques Lisfranc de St. Martin, a French surgeon who noticed the injury amongst cavalrymen in the early 1800s.

While easily mistaken for a sprain, a Lisfranc injury is much different. Even a simple injury is a severe setback and may require surgery and months to heal, according to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Styles’ recovery time will depend on how severe the injury in his foot is. If there are no fractures or dislocations and the ligaments are not torn, then non-surgical treatment may be all that’s needed with a recovery window of six to eight weeks. If surgery is required to realign the joints and return the fractured bone fragments, this could keep the wrestler out for many more months. The overall recovery process for resuming all activities may take 6 months to 1 year in some patients, according to the Academy.

We here at SEScoops are wishing Syles a full and speedy recovery. We’ll continue to monitor his situation for further updates.

Rhea Ripley Hits Back At Trolls Hoping For An Injury On (10/14) WWE Raw

During the latest edition of WWE Raw, Rhea Ripley was part of the opening segment that included Tiffany Stratton, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez. Soon after, Ripley would accidentally drop on the top of Stratton’s heel head-first after a brutal big boot from Rodriguez.

While the vast majority of fans showed concern that landing head first could have been an injury, there was a select number of trolls that were hoping Ripley got hurt. On her Instagram Stories, Ripley had some choice words for these particular ‘fans’ of wrestling.

image 5

The main event of Raw saw Ripley team with Stratton to face Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. This match ended in a no-contest due to an interruption from Nia Jax. During the show, the WWE Women’s Champion vowed that Stratton would cash in her Money in the Bank contract on Liv Morgan when the time is right, which came as a surprise to Stratton herself.

While wrestling fans have the freedom to support or not support who they wish, wanting a wrestler to get injured in the ring is a step too far. Hopefully, these ‘fans’ of wrestling will reflect on what they want after having their comments shared with Ripley’s 4.5 million followers on Instagram. In the meantime, Ripley will continue to be one of the very top Superstars in WWE and be featured regularly on programming.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from Rhea Ripley as the Eradicator continues to be a force to be reckoned with on WWE programming.

AJ Styles’ Injury Halts WWE Storyline Plans

AJ Styles made his long-awaited return to WWE television on SmackDown last week, but things didn’t go as planned. During his match with Carmelo Hayes, where Hayes emerged victorious, Styles sustained an injury.

WWE later confirmed that Styles suffered a mid-foot ligament sprain, and he was shown being evaluated by the medical team before leaving the arena on crutches. Although early reports suggested his absence might be part of a storyline, it was later confirmed that Styles had suffered an injury.

The Phenomenal One had been absent from WWE since stepping in for Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at the Clash at the Castle event in June. It wasn’t due to injury, but lack of creative. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Styles was frustrated with the situation, as it could impact future plans.

WWE had intended to start a storyline involving Styles embarking on a farewell tour, teasing his eventual retirement. However, the direction of this storyline now hinges on the results of an MRI, which will determine the severity of his injury.

Styles is 47 years old and began his pro wrestling career in 1998.

Braun Strowman Confirms Groin Injury Last Week on Raw

WWE star Braun Strowman recently confirmed that he suffered a groin injury on last week’s edition of WWE Raw.

The September 30th edition of WWE RAW emanated from Evansville, Indiana, and on the show, Braun Strowman faced Bronson Reed in a Last Monster Standing match. The match saw some incredible spots and in the final stages, the ring even broke down. However, fans were concerned when it was reported that Braun Strowman suffered a torn groin during the match.

During the match, Reed hit a Samoan Drop on ‘The Monster of All Monsters,’ who grabbed his thigh and groin area. Following this, Strowman was noticeably limping but he pushed through the pain. Taking to Instagram, the powerhouse dropped a video clip and wrote how he got injured two minutes into the match.

“After waiting a few days to see how this was gonna end up. This is where we’re at!! Tore my Groin 2 minutes into the Last Monster Standing Match last week on #Raw and pained my way through that son of a b****. To yet again reminded the world I am The #MonsterOfAllMonsters.”

Strowman won the match after Seth Rollins made his return and hit a curb stomp on Reed on the steel steps. This helped the former WWE Universal Champion to rise to his feet and beat the ten count.

Strowman’s injury comes months after he returned to WWE following after a year-long hiatus due to neck fusion surgery. In July, Strowman had also shared that his knees have been ‘banged up.’ It is to be seen when he manages to make his return.

AJ Styles Injury: Update Following SmackDown Scare

Fans may have had quite the pause after it appeared AJ Styles may have gotten injured during his return match against Carmelo Hayes.

Styles returned to WWE SmackDown after being away for months and he got thrown right into the fire with a singles fight against the upstart Carmelo. However, the match got stopped early when Styles seemingly injured his ankle after an awkward landing. Styles crawled underneath the rope to be checked on by a doctor and the match was called. This allowed LA Knight to hit Hayes with his BFT finisher. Styles was helped to the back and it was later shown that “The Phenomenal One” was taken to a hospital.

If one were to go back and watch the footage, it would appear that Styles’ injury could indeed be legitimate and not an angle, but fear not. According to Fightful Select, AJ Styles injury is all apart of an angle and the former WWE Champion is just fine.

Styles’ persona is taken a new turn as he was the full-fledged heel in his previous feud against WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. Styles went out in a memorable way in an “I Quit” match at Clash At The Castle when he was handcuffed to the corner and found himself between the turnbuckle and the steel stairs wielded by the “American Nightmare.” However, on SmackDown AJ said that he regretted his actions earlier this year and plans to make up for his past transgressions, aiming to rebuild his legacy.

Charlotte Flair Reveals Her Initial Reaction To Career-Threatening Injury

Multi-time WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair thought that her life was over after she suffered severe injuries last year. “The Queen” has been away from the programming since suffering a significant knee injury including tears to her ACL, MCL, and meniscus last year.

Charlotte Flair recently joined in for an interview on the Forever Young Podcast with Dr. John Layke and Dr. Payman Danielpour. She opened up on the injury and her recovery process. The former WWE Women’s Champion is determined to recuperate and bring back the best version of herself. She said:

“I thought my life was over. My husband [Andrade] had just come back to the company or was on his way back. I knew he was going to be debuting soon. From the moment I was taken out, I just have kept telling myself that I’m going to come back the best version of the Queen when I do come back.”

‘The Queen’ is using the injury hiatus to her advantage as she is scouting the present wrestling landscape to add more layers to her character when she is back. Flair explained:

“It’s been a challenge, but a challenge I know that’s going to make me better in the long run because I’ve had the opportunity over these, I think it’s been like nine, eight months now to go back and see things that I would have done over. What can I do over? Look at the landscape of the division and try to figure out where I can add character layers when I come back.”

During the conversation, she was asked how long until she returns. However, Flair remained tight-lipped and said that she wants fans to get surprised when she makes her comeback.

The daughter of legendary wrestler Ric Flair, is quite active on her social media and shares footage of her in-ring training. She previously dropped a clip of running the ropes and doing a series of rolls.

There is a belief that there is still some time left before she returns to the ring as the injuries that she sustained last year were severe. She is likely to miss the remainder of the year and could be back next year.

AJ Styles Returns on SmackDown, ‘Hospitalized’ With Ankle Injury

AJ Styles returns to WWE SmackDown, his first appearance since saying the words “I Quit” in his match against Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle back in June. Styles said that we may never see him again if he quit, but he’s back and received a warm reception from the crowd.

The multi-time World Champion said he missed the fans so much, and it’s only fitting that he returned in Nashville, where it all started for him in the business. He regrets a lot of his conduct, but he’s here to rebuild his legacy. Styles declared that SmackDown is still “The house that AJ Styles Built” and was interrupted by Carmelo Hayes.

Hayes said he’s a big fan of old-timers like Styles, but said he’s better suited for a Legends contract at this stage in his career. Hayes continued talking himself up and said he deserves a shot at the United States Championship, held by one LA Knight. Styles said he’s familiar with the champ. Styles challenged Hayes, but it wasn’t accepted. They continued talking trash back-and-forth until LA Knight’s music hit and he hit the stage.

Knight acknowledged his history with Styles, and said he made a liar of himself by teasing a retirement and then showing up in Nashville. Knight will grant MELO a shot at the title if he can get through AJ Styles on SmackDown.

AJ Styles vs. Carmelo Hayes

Styles and Hayes had a competitive match that was stopped due to injury after Styles appeared to land awkwardly on his leg after a backflip off the ropes. Styles sold the injury as he left the ringside area. While Carmelo Hayes was in the ring watching his opponent hobble off, he was blindsided and laid out by LA Knight.

AJ Styles Injury Update

Later in the show, AJ Styles was shown in a pre-recorded segment getting checked out by a doctor. Michael Cole said that Styes has been transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation. We’ll provide an update when it becomes clear if this is a legitimate injury or not.

Gunther Mocks Rival Ilja Dragunov Following Devastating ACL Injury

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther has mocked his arch-rival Ilja Dragunov, who recently suffered a torn ACL injury at a WWE Live event over the weekend.

During the WWE SuperShow on September 28th in Columbus, Georgia, ‘The Ring General’ faced ‘The Mad Dragon’ in a title match. Gunther successfully retained his title but Dragunov sustained a major injury that will keep him on the shelf for several months. On last night’s WWE Raw, footage from their match aired and the injury was confirmed.

WWE recently shared the footage of the announcement about Dragunov’s injury on social media and Gunther mocked him in a Tweet. Check it out below:

Gunther used the same phrase that was seen on the wall at Carozza Fitness gym in Stamford, Connecticut during a video showing GUNTHER’s training for WWE Bash in Berlin where he faced Randy Orton.

The former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov will be absent from in-ring action for the remainder of the year and he is likely to miss next year’s PLEs including Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. It has been announced that he will be gone for six to nine months. A minimum of six months recovery time indicates that he will be absent for WrestleMania 41 season as well.

On the other hand, Gunther is enjoying his World title run and Sami Zayn poses a threat to his title reign. Last night on WWE Raw, ‘The Ring General’ finally accepted Zayn’s challenge and they will face each other at this weekend’s WWE Bad Blood PLE.

Ilja Dragunov Out Of Action For 6 To 9 Months After Live Event Injury

WWE has announced an injury to former NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov that will likely keep him out of action for the rest of the year as well as the WrestleMania season next year.

On Monday’s episode of Raw, the company aired footage of the 30-year-old facing the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther in a match at this past Saturday’s house show from Columbus, Georgia.

In the commentary, they noted that Dragunov is suspected to have suffered a torn ACL and the medical team believes that he will be out of action for 6 to 9 months:

Ilja Dragunov In WWE

Ilja Dragunov had a successful run in WWE developmental. He started in NXT UK in January 2019 and has the credit of ending Gunther’s 2 year-long reign with the NXT UK Championship at NXT: Takeover 36 in August 2021.

He had to relinquish the title after 346 days due to a leg injury in July 2022. Dragunov joined the main NXT brand after returning from injury where he had a 200+ days run with the NXT title.

The former champion was finally called up to the main roster during the 2024 Drafts. He has competed in the King of The Ring tournament and also unsuccessfully challenged Sami Zayn for the IC title since then.

A minimum of 6 months recovery time means Dragunov will not be ring-ready until April at least. That implies he’ll be absent for the whole WrestleMania 41 season, with a high potential of missing the Show of Shows as well.

SEScoops wishes a speedy recovery to Ilja Dragunov
