WWE Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik has penned an open letter to Hulk Hogan and Gawker regarding their ongoing trial over the unauthorized distribution of Hogan’s sex tape.
Sheik opens the letter by putting himself over as the legend who sold out Madison Square Garden and paved the way for the modern era of pro wrestling by dropping the WWE title to Hogan when he could have very well broken his leg instead. He says Hogan told him “I owe you one, Sheikie baby” but never delivered.
Despite taking some shots at his former rival (calling Hulk a “half and half Howdy Doody looking jabroni guitar player”), Hogan is still ‘one of the boys’ and he’s part of the old guard that still knows what respect means. He then ripped into Gawker Media, saying:
“THE GAWKER YOU DUMB NO GOOD SON OF A BITCH YOU GET THE CHEAP HEAT YOU DON’T RESPECT THE PRIVACY YOU HAVE NO CLASS YOU TRY TO BURY THE PEOPLE FROM THE CHEAP HEAT. 1. Kurt Angle’s sister died unexpectedly the night before his Iron Man match with Brock Lesnar (2003)
What fans do know is that Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle had one of the best matches in SmackDown history on September 18, 2003, when they went 60 minutes in an iron man match. What fans probably don’t know, is that Kurt Angle’s sister passed away of a heroin overdose the night before the match. Angle knew his match with Lesnar would be big, and waited until after the SmackDown taping to take time off.
Former WWE trainer Dr. Tom Prichard recently spoke with Marc Madison of News Hub to talk about a number of topics. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.
On training under The Iron Sheik: “What happened was I was working in the wrestling office and when I was a kid during the summer and there was this football player wanted to try wrestling and every Friday before the matches, Gary Hart, he was the booker at the time and would bring one of the boys in with him from Dallas and talk with Paul that Friday afternoon around his matches. One Friday afternoon Gary brought The Iron Sheik who was wrestling as Mohamed Farooq back then and the football player came in and I always brought workout gear with me anyway in my trunk.”
On teaming with the late Chris Adams: “Chris was definitely a talented guy. He was be a really good guy and he could be a really intense guy. So we were both pretty young. He was probably about two years older than me. I was 20 and he was 22, I suppose. Just being at that state in your career and that young and he just came over from England and I came from Texas to California. We both hadn’t experienced a whole lot of life yet. I think we grew in the sense that we were two young guys in L.A having a pretty good time. That’s my experiences with Chris.”
On being as part of The BodyDonnas in WWE: “It was terrible, it was a really bad time. It wasn’t a great time for professionally or personally in my life. At that time it was a gig and it was still in wrestling. It was terrible. I hated every minute of it. I liked working with Chris but the rest of the gig was just really bad. It was my fault it happened like that. But that’s what happened. We can’t go back and change it and it was not the best time of my life or my career. You had to make the best of a situation or otherwise I would have had no job and no gig and that’s not where I was at yet. I had just come off a run and still had long hair and had to put it under a shield and a crew cut was just really awkward. It was uncomfortable for a lot of reasons. It just wasn’t a good time. That’s what the BodyDonnas were for. It just wasn’t a good place to be.”
– New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) star A.J. Styles has been added to the upcoming Ring Of Honor 13th anniversary pay-per-view event. Styles, a former ROH star himself, will face ACH on the show, which emanates from the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, March 1st.
– In addition to his live “Stone Cold Podcast” with Triple H on the WWE Network on Monday night, Steve Austin also released a regular edition of his “Steve Austin Show” podcast, where he spoke about such topics as his early days in the USWA promotion, the WWE Hall Of Fame, comments on this year’s Super Bowl game and more. WWE Superstar R-Truth recently appeared on the Tom Barnard Podcast to discuss a number of topics, including how tough it is to get into WWE, Iron Sheik’s crazy tweets and more.
During the interview, Truth confirmed the rumors that he will be releasing an album through WWE and that John Cena will be appearing on two of the tracks. He noted that they are in the “finalizing stages” of the project.
– Ric Flair and Rob Van Dam have been added to the announced lineup for the upcoming NXT Takeover live special, which airs later this month on the WWE Network.

WWE Hall Of Famer Iron Sheik recently spoke with The Toronto Star about mayor Rob Ford, who was recently caught smoking crack. Sheik shared his thoughts on Ford getting caught smoking crack, challenged him to a match and even hinted at interest in running for mayor of Toronto.
Wrestling fans may remember Ford as the mayor who made wrestling headlines recently for taking part in an arm-wrestling publicity stunt with WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan.

On Ultimate Warrior potentially being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame: “Ultimate Warrior is a low life, piece of shit, freak no good mother——. On whether he thought the WrestleMania gimmick battle royal would have staying power: “You know, I always come back to WWE and they know I am the real legend. I not the Hillbilly Jim or the jabroni Bushwhacker. I come and I show that I tough man, still for my age I look good.”
On how he initially felt when wrestling was removed from the Olympic program, and his reaction now that it has been reinstated: “I very very happy. The Chael Sonnen my good friend and the legend we work very very hard to let the wrestling in the Olympic again. They let the jabroni sport like the javelin or the walking become sport and I think they big time jabroni sports. They know oldest sport in the world is the wrestling. They know I always be ready to shop my heart for my sport. I happy, bubba.”
On being a member of both the WWE and NWA Hall of Fame and which accomplishment he holds more precious: WWE or WWF give me everything I have from my wrestling day. Mr McMahon is like the emperor or the Rome. He help me become the legend. NWA, still I love, but still not like the WWE.

– David Chao, the controversial sports surgeon who has performed multiple surgeries on Rey Mysterio, is risk of having his medical license revoked by the California board due to allegations of “gross negligence in his care of patients.”
Chao is the head physician for the San Diego Chargers and has been sued around 20 times by four chargers players for medical malpractice, negligence and fraud. No word yet on whether Mysterio still uses Dr. Chao, but he’s being cited by the NFL players union as an example of why players should have a say which doctors they see. – As we reported on Monday, WWE RAW is now being listed by cable companies as 3 consecutive 1-hour shows, which has caused issues for some fans who DVR RAW. According to PWInsider.com, this was a move initiated by the USA Network and will be the norm moving forward.
– WWE Hall of Famer the Iron Sheik is engaged in a Twitter war with NFL running back Arian Foster of the Houston Texans. The beef started when Foster asked followers to recommend a funny Twitter account he could follow and several of his fans mentioned the Sheik. WWE Hall of Famer The Iron Sheik, who competed for Iran in the 1968 Olympics and then became an assistant coach for Team USA in the 1970’s, is not pleased about the International Olympic Committee’s decision to remove wrestling from the Olympics starting in 2020. The Sheik told TMZ.com today:

– During a SportsCenter broadcast on ESPN Thursday, anchor and wrestling enthusiast Robert Flores referenced WWE Hall of Famer Iron Sheik. While discussing ESPN’s “Greatest Athlete Of All Time” tournament, Robert Flores said if the legendary wrestler doesn’t make the final eight, he’s “gonna hit somebody.”
– WWE Champion CM Punk joined WGN Morning News today to discuss wrestling, his new DVD, Dark Knight and more.
In response to how he deals with “the nutjobs” on Twitter, Punk says, “With a smile on my face. There is nothing that makes me smile more than haters.”
– THQ announced Wednesday twenty-one downloadable characters that will be available for purchase for the WWE ’13 video game scheduled for release on Oct. 30. The content will be made available from October through January. THQ is offering a $20 package where you receive all the characters as well as Diamond Dallas Page and Goldust, which will be exclusives.
