Update On Jade Cargill’s TBS Title Win

Jade Cargill is the first-ever TBS Champion. She defeated Ruby Soho in the finals of a tournament on Wednesday night.

Some fans have suggested that Cargill’s title win was a reaction from AEW management to Big Swole’s recent comments regarding Black wrestlers not being featured in prominent storylines. However, that is not the case.

Cargill had been the planned winner all along, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer noted that there was concern some of Swole’s comments gave away the results of the tournament. This even led to discussion regarding possibly changing the planned booking.

“Jade Cargill’s TBS title win may have come off to some as a reaction (to Swole’s comments), but that decision was made before the tournament ever started,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

“There were people internally who believed Swole gave away the tournament finish by pretty much saying they’ll pick Jade before the tournament started, but very few fans made that connection.”

Cargill’s first-ever match was a high-profile bout where she teamed with Shaquille O’Neal. Cargill and Shaq defeated Cody Rhodes & Red Velvet with Jade pinning Velvet as the finish. The 29-year-old is officially 23-0 in the promotion.

Britt Baker, Tay Conti & Jade Cargill Trade Shots On Twitter

Britt Baker will defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against #1 contender Tay Conti at Full Gear next month. Conti came out to make the save after Baker continued to attack Anna Jay after their match on Rampage Friday night. Then on AEW Saturday Night Dynamite, Baker cut a promo on Conti stating that “All [Conti] has done since arriving in AEW is show everyone [her] ass.”

Baker’s promo led to responses from both Conti and #2 contender in the AEW Women’s division, Jade Cargill.

Conti opted to compare how certain parts of their actions figures look in her response:

Jade Cargill, who received a first round bye in the TBS Championship Tournament, responded to an earlier Tweet from Baker as well.

Baker then answered back with the following:

“Your tweets are as bad as your promos. I was the baddest bitch on the block before you even decided you wanted to play wrestler. No one mentioned “looks” but that’s literally all you have so I get it. If that was an attempt to body shame my ass, go ahead and kiss it.”

Cargill then answered back with a couple more Tweets.

“BODY SHAME!?! The Queen of talking about everyone else is playing the victim. Brittney please, I can’t help that God blessed me with great looks!”

Jade Cargill will face the winner of Red Velvet vs the Bunny in her first match in the TBS Championship tournament.

Jade Cargill Comes To Defense Of Red Velvet Following Moonsault Botch

Jade Cargill is sticking up for Red Velvet.

Velvet was seen in action on the Aug. 25 edition of AEW Dynamite. She went one-on-one with Jamie Hayter. Hayter ended up winning the match but Velvet’s performance was panned after she badly missed a standing moonsault.

Jade Cargill took to her Twitter account to respond to a fan who criticized AEW’s decision to give Red Velvet airtime over her.

“Red was/is fine. She can work. Everybody loved her when she was killing it. Shit happens. But clearly you all don’t know wrestling to not see some shit in that go round. SMH. I’m done.”

Cargill has been built up to become a dominant athlete on the AEW roster. She’s gotten off to a red hot start in AEW with a record of 10-0. AEW has also been making Red Velvet look strong with a 2021 record of 24-5. She challenged Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s title in a losing effort.

Cargill was immediately put in a prominent spot on AEW television. She was set for a tag team match with Shaq to take on Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes. Brandi was pulled from the match due to her pregnancy. Cargill and Shaq ended up defeating Cody and Red Velvet.

Jade Cargill Picks Her New Manager On Dynamite

After weeks of not wanting to sign with any manager, AEW star Jade Cargill has decided to join forces with Mark Sterling and allow him to be his manager.

Tonight’s Double Or Nothing go-home episode of Dynamite featured a segment where the female star tried to talk to Tony Schiavone. However, they were interrupted by Matt Hardy.

Hardy tried to persuade Cargill to join him but Mark Sterling jumped in. He revealed that Jade had already selected him to be her manager in the company.

Sterling told Hardy he is going to slap him with a restraining order if the former WWE star keeps bothering his client. Mark also revealed that his deal is different than Hardy’s and he only gets paid when his client wins.

Mark Sterling then accompanied Jade Cargill for her match against KiLynn King. During the match, Cargill sent King out of the ring. Sterling tried to present King his card as well but she attacked him instead.

The ending of the bout saw Cargill hitting the Jaded finisher on her opponent. She then pinned KiLynn King to pick up the victory.

Mark Sterling is an independent wrestler who has worked for ROH and other indie promotions. He previously made an appearance for AEW as MJF’s lawyer last year.

Kamille Reveals That She Wants To Face Jade Cargill in AEW

NWA star Kamille recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio. The ‘insurance policy’ of NWA Worlds Champion Nick Aldis discussed a number of topics on the show, including how she would like to face Jade Cargill in an AEW ring.

“I would definitely bring a different twist to their product and the type of matches they have” Kamille began, discussing AEW television and what she could bring to the roster. “The only way I would go there is if the business is there to do so.”

“I understand a working relationship, but I’m team NWA” Kamille added. “If the business got more eyes on our product, I’m all for it. Other than that, it is what it is.”

Kamille on Jade Cargill

“Down the line, no time soon, this girl is brand new but she’s an absolute superstar is Jade Cargill” Kamille continued, revealing that she’d like to work with the megastar in waiting. “If you’re flipping channels and you see her, you’re like, ‘What’s going on here?’”

“I like matches with people who are out of this world and you don’t see every day” Kamille concluded. “The business is there for me and Jade.”

Do you think we’ll ever see Jade Cargill and Kamille cross paths?

Cody & Red Velvet vs Shaq & Jade Cargill Opening AEW Dynamite

AEW EVP Cody Rhodes confirmed last night that his match against Shaquille O’Neal will be opening Dynamite tonight. Appearing on the NBA on TNT Tuesday postgame, Cody said that he and Red Velvet will be taking on Jade Cargill and Shaq to open the TNT show as it goes on the air.

There had been speculation that the bout would be ending the show. With AEW’s Revolution PPV taking place this Sunday, tonight’s episode of Dynamite is the ‘go home’ show for that event. There’s a chance that AEW have something planned for the end of the show to lead into Sunday’s PPV and try to get some extra buys ahead of the show.

The mainstream coverage of tonight’s match has been significant. There have been many outlets reporting on Shaq getting in an AEW ring tonight for the very first time. The match itself will be intriguing to say the least, as Jade Cargill and Shaq’s in-ring abilities are as of yet untested on television.

Bully Ray Questions Jade Cargill Debut, Says She “Stood Out” Weeks Ago

WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio Bully Ray recently discussed the official AEW ‘debut’ of Jade Cargill.

Cargill appeared on Dynamite this week during an in-ring promo by former TNT Champion Cody Rhodes. The reasoning for Cargill leaving the ringside area and entering the ring? It was so that she could belittle Rhodes and forewarn of Shaq coming to take on the ‘Prince of Pro Wrestling.’

Bully Ray would question how Jade Cargill made her in-ring debut on AEW programming. Ray would mention how he saw Cargill over the past few weeks ringside; as she played one of the front row ‘performers’ that give the show extra atmosphere during this pandemic ‘era.’

Bully Ray on Jade Cargill Debut

“Am I to believe that anybody who’s hanging out in the front row can just get in the ring and get a microphone? While Cody Rhodes is in the middle of the ring?” Bully Ray began on the show. “When I saw her I’m like, ‘what, what is this!?’ The only reason I knew who that woman was? A couple of weeks ago I made a phone call to a friend of mine in AEW; I said, ‘who is the tall blonde black girl in the front row?’ They told me who it was and I said ‘she has a presence, she has a look.'”

“I’m glad they took advantage of her presence and her look” Bully Ray would continue, before again questioning how she debuted. “What the hell was she doing in the ring with Cody!? There’s much better way to plan out that segment, especially if Cody would have been saying whatever he had to say in his promo; and that woman would have been yelling and screaming at the top of her lungs in the front row, which is where I’m used to seeing her.”

Jade Cargill Signs Multi-Year Deal With AEW

AEW has announced that Jade Cargill is All Elite. AEW sent in word that Cargill has signed a multi-year deal with the company and will be part of the women’s division.

“I joined AEW because here I have a voice,” said Jade. “I’m ready to shake up the women’s division, and I’m going to flip this promotion on its head.”

AEW President Tony Khan touted Jade’s credentials and stating that her signing demonstrates their commitment to signing world class athletes as they build the Women’s roster.

Khan said, “I’m confident that fans will enjoy getting to know Jade’s strong personality and watching her development as a wrestler after her surprising confrontation with Cody and Brandi Rhodes last night on Dynamite.”

Jade Cargill made her official debut on this week’s AEW Dynamite. She confronted Cody Rhodes in a segment and took issue with Cody’s reputation for being a ‘Giant Killer.’ She said that she knows a giant – none other than Shaquille O’Neil. Shaq has expressed interest in wrestling Cody, so this latest development indicates we may actually see them in the ring together in some capacity.

After talking trash to the American Nightmare, Cargill was interrupted by his wife, AEW Chief Brand Officer Brandi Rhodes.
