Hardy Announces Impact Match, TNA Stars Upset With Departure

— Matt Hardy announced on Twitter that he is facing Sting for the first time tonight on TNA iMPACT!.

— A number of TNA stars are apparently upset with Jay Lethal’s sudden departure from TNA. The following remarks were written on Twitter.

Max Buck: “Ridiculous. Just ridiculous.”

Amazing Red: “…… ;( %&*$”

“Morale has just took a nose dive (SMFH).”

Jeremy Buck: “worst possible thing to happen to r locker room.

Tara wrote to Lethal: “Oh I hope this is just a rumor. Because I will miss you terribly.”

— Suicide has been added back to the TNAWrestling.com’s roster page.

Update On Lethal’s Departure, Abyss Undergoing Dental Surgery

— Multiple sources have confirmed that Jay Lethal has parted ways with TNA Wrestling. His profile was removed from the company’s website Wednesday night.

In a new bit of information, many within TNA are saying that organization officials opted to release the former X Division Champion.

— Abyss will be undergoing dental surgery to repair the bottom row of his teeth, which were badly damaged during a misplaced springboard kick from Rob Van Dam at Tuesday’s iMPACT! taping

Abyss received a lot of praise within the company for working Wednesday’s taping despite being in severe pain.

— Brother Devon, Eric Young, Orlando Jordan and Tommy Dreamer vs. Douglas Williams, Magnus, Murphy and Rob Terry was taped for the May 3 episode of TNA Xplosion on Challenge TV last night in Orlando, Florida.

Jay Lethal Parts Ways With TNA Wrestling

It has been confirmed that Jay Lethal has parted ways with TNA Wrestling. His profile was removed from the organization’s website Wednesday night.

Details regarding his departure have yet to be disclosed.

Lethal’s departure surprised some people within TNA. One company source who was on hand for this week’s television tapings was not aware Lethal was leaving the company.

Lethal worked Tuesday’s iMPACT! television taping after competing in the X Division Ultimate Xscape Match at TNA Lockdown.

Lethal has been sparingly featured since dropping the X Division Championship to Kazarian in January at TNA Genesis.

Sabu Through With TNA, Styles Challenged To Match On Impact

— EV 2.0 faced Fortune in a Ten Man Tag Team Match at tonight’s Turning Point pay-per-view, where each member of EV 2.0 put their TNA Wrestling careers on the line. AJ Styles won the match for his team by pinning Sabu, who as a result was fired from the organization.

It had been reported earlier that the wrestling veteran’s departure from the organization was legitimate. He was recently informed by company officials that he would cease to be utilized following the pay-per-view event because they had no creative plans for him.

— Robbie E defeated Jay Lethal tonight at Turning Point to win the X Division Championship for the first time.

— At Turning Point, Stevie Richards challenged AJ Styles to a match on Thursday’s iMPACT!.

Diva Attacked By Giant Squid?, Hardy Removed From SD Opening

— WWE Diva Eve Torres wrote last night on Twitter that she was attacked by a giant squid. She enclosed a gruesome photo of her back, which is littered with red marks.

While the marks are legit, she said today that she was merely joking about being attacked by a giant squid. She said the marks are from a Chinese healing procedure called Cupping.

— Matt Hardy was removed from the opening SmackDown montage on Friday’s show. He remains listed on the company website’s SmackDown roster page.

— Putting a rumor to rest, TNA star Jay Lethal wrote on his Twitter account that he is not dating NXT Rookie Diva AJ Lee — after being asked. He did, however, note that they were a couple at one point.

New X Division Champion Crowned, Impact & Reaction Ratings

— Jay Lethal reclaimed the X Division Championship at last night’s TNA Wrestling’s live event in Rahway, New Jersey.

Amazing Red won the title Thursday night in his hometown of New York City. Lethal won it back Saturday in his home area.

— Thursday’s episode of iMPACT! scored a 1.01 cable rating, down nearly 10.0 percent from the previous week’s 1.12 figure. Overall, the show drew 1,299,000 viewers.

— The ReACTION episode following iMPACT! scored series-low viewership; a 0.53 cable rating, with 638,000 viewers. The previous viewership low took place on September 2 with 692,000 viewers.

TNA Stars Grumbling Over Pay, Kash Says He’ll Be At TNA PPV

— There has been much grumbling amongst the TNA Wrestling crew in regards to tonight’s HardCORE Justice pay-per-view.

Many mid and under-card performers are on per-appearance deals, meaning they only get paid when they work. Due to tonight’s ECW alumnus-only event, a number of stars are missing out on a pay day. While the monetary losses are not as substantial in TNA Wrestling as they would be for WWE performers who receive pay-per-view bonus money, it is a big issue nonetheless among those who receive modest pay.

— The official MySpace page of Kid Kash indicates the former ECW star will be on hand for tonight’s HardCORE Justice pay-per-view.

The page notes: “TNA “Hardcore Justice” tonight!!! Dont forget to tune in!!!”

— Jay Lethal has relaunched his Twitter page. It is located at twitter.com/TheLethalJay.

Kurt Angle’s Next Feud, Tara Returning, ECW Reforming In TNA?

– Kurt Angle’s body is still pretty banged up and he’s taking a few more weeks off to let his body heal. If he’s able to return in time for Victory Road on July 11th, he will wrestle against either Samoa Joe or The Pope as part of his mission to beat all of TNA’s “Top 10 Contenders.”

– After parting ways with TNA just a few weeks ago,  there is talk within the company that Lisa Marie Varon (Knockout Tara) will be back soon.

– Several different ideas are being discussed for the ECW originals angle, including the idea of creating a new “hardcore” spinoff brand with its own television show on Spike TV. Spike has given the green light for TNA to feature more violence on its shows, so we’ll see how this plays out.

– TNA officials are very happy with Jay Lethal and he’s in line for a big push this summer.

Is Kong Still With TNA?, Von Erich To Begin Formal Training

— Awesome Kong’s profile was briefly deleted from TNA’s website this morning but placed back a short while later.

It was reported earlier this week that Kong was telling friends within the industry that the company had agreed to release her from her contract. This coincides with her Twitter post last week where she thanked Dixie Carter and TNA Wrestling for wishing her the best in her future endeavors.

— Lacey Von Erich stated on her Facebook page today that effective Saturday, she begins formal wrestling training three times per week.

She wrote: “YAY! My girls did so good monday, winning the gold for the BP’s. I’m happy to be apart of the glory (not that I did much) lol I start training this sat. 3 times a week! Can’t wait to get in the ring more! ;)Love y’all!”

TNA recently established a working relationship with the Orange County based Mach One Wrestling school/promotion to give company performers an official training location and as feeder of sorts for prospective talent.

— TNA’s latest webmatch has Rhino squaring off against “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal.

Hogan & Nasty Boys Mock Young Star, Hernandez To Mexico

– There was some eye rolling in the TNA locker room when Hulk Hogan and The Nasty Boys had a laugh at the expense of X Division star Jay Lethal. Jerry Sags openly questioned how long TNA will keep him employed and laughed at the audacity of his “Black Machismo” character. Apparently in a tongue in cheek tone, Hogan later cracked during an appearance on The Bubba The Love Sponge Show that TNA should bring in Randy Savage to manage Lethal.

– TNA officials have spoken to the Mexican-based AAA promotion about sending Hernandez for an extended stay. While this idea has come up in the past, there are some who feel he could become a legitimate star in Mexico. On the other hand, others fear Mexican wrestling fans could turn on him once they discover that he doesn’t speak Spanish particularly well. For those curious, Hernandez is of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent.
