Matt & Jeff Hardy Interview Added to WWE Network (Recap)

WWE has uploaded a Hardy Boys interview special to the WWE Network titled, Reborn by Fate: Hardys Interview. Matt and Jeff recently sat down with Corey Graves to discuss their surprise returns at WrestleMania, winning the tag team titles on their first night back, what it’s like to be home in WWE and more.

When asked what’s different about the WWE locker room since their last run with the company, Matt said the vibe is much more and the talent is more athletic than ever. Jeff said he didn’t watch a lot of WWE television before their return and felt somewhat intimidated by the current crop of Superstars.

Matt joked that since he’s in his 40’s and Jeff will be 40 this summer, the term “Hardy Men” might be more of an appropriate name than Hardy Boys.

Of course, what would a ‘Hardy Men’ interview be without an update on the status of Matt and Jeff bringing the Broken Universe to WWE. “I definitely think there is a chance,” Matt said. “It’s a work in progress. Unfortunately, because of legal reasons, I really can’t go into it right now but I find it very flattering and humbling that every time we come and wrestle in front of the WWE Universe, they chant and they address it and they acknowledge it.”

Matt continued, “When it happens, and I’m not even going to say if, when it happens, it’s going to be the most exciting thing to hit WWE programming in a long, long time. We’ve got to keep people guessing.”

Corey Graves brought up the fact that both Matt and Jeff have battled demons in the past and questioned if they find it difficult working the WWE schedule again. Matt says it’s not for him, since he’s accepted the changes that along with getting older. Previously, he’d work himself into the ground and compete no matter how bad his body was feeling. Jeff said temptation is obsolete for him. He’s been there and done that with partying. Now, he looks forward to time on the road and looks forward to returning home to be with his family. Both said their families motivate them to stay clean and both look forward to resuming their singles careers in WWE when the time is right.

The special includes unseen footage from WrestleMania, including Matt and Jeff arriving in secrecy and hiding in a tour bus and the backstage reaction to the surprise after their match.

Jeff Hardy Discusses The Possibility of Feuding With Matt Again in WWE

One-half of the now-former WWE RAW Tag Team Champions Jeff Hardy was recently a guest on fellow WWE Superstar Chris Jericho’s podcast, Talk Is Jericho, where the objective of the episode was to have Jeff meet Dean Ambrose for the first time. During the three men’s conversation, Jeff was asked about a variety of topics including he and Matt’s WWE return, keeping it a secret, and feuding with his brother again in a storyline.

You can read the highlights below:

He and Matt’s WWE return being an inevitability:

“It was one of those things that was inevitable. I think when I did [Jim Ross]’s podcast live at like the House Of Blues back at a couple of WrestleCons ago, that was the big question: ‘are you ever going to return [to WWE]?’ And then, I was like, ‘oh yeah, it’s inevitable.’ I wasn’t sure how it was going to come about, but I always knew it deep down, like you’re not going to know what that extended family means, even back then I remember, ‘we want you to be part of the extended family,’ so yeah, it was inevitable and meant to be in some weird way, just how it all happened was the perfect story. From The Expedition Of Gold to becoming the WWE [RAW] Tag Team Champions. I mean, it’s just the perfect story.”

It being difficult to keep their WrestleMania return a secret:

“We knew that after our contracts expired with that other world, basically, we knew, we’d been through all the deal we had to go through. We just had to keep it a secret and that was so hard. Like, that day of WrestleMania, I was lying like crazy! ‘Will we see you tonight?’ ‘No, I’m on the first flight out of here.'” Hardy added, “even in interviews on the Friday and Saturday before with these people, I even said, ‘yeah, we’ll be with Ring Of Honor through the summer.'”

Feuding with Matt again in WWE:

“I think so, yeah [fans want to see the Hardys together]. Yeah, for sure. Bottom line is people don’t really want to see that. It’s cool for us, like Bret and Owen [Hart] wrestling each other years [ago]. We loved that. Naturally, for us, back in the day, it was awesome. But yeah, the bottom line is people would rather see us together instead of apart.”

Jeff Hardy on The Possibility of Using The “Broken” Gimmick in WWE

WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy was recently a guest on Chris Jericho’s podcast, Talk Is Jericho, alongside the now-former Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose, as the whole angle of the episode was for Jeff and Dean to meet one another. During the appearance, Hardy was asked by Jericho about the possibility of using the “Broken” gimmick in WWE. Here’s what Jeff had to say:

“No [there was no talk of using the Broken gimmick in WWE], because we did the Ring Of Honor pay-per-view. That’s when we got the whole cease and desist letter. They said if we use it, ‘we’re going to sue you’ and sue Ring Of Honor. I think Dish Network, they didn’t air the pay-per-view because of the threat or whatever because it said the Broken Universe characters were specifically developed for Matt and Jeff Hardy and that is so far from the [truth].

“Yeah, [the Hardys developed the characters] and even Billy Corgan. I love Billy, man. He was right out there with us, man, throughout two long nights of filming. Yeah, yeah, he almost owned it. And I think, honestly, I’d probably still be there now if it still would have worked out.” Hardy “It’s cool to hear people chant [‘Brother Nero’] even here. Hopefully, one of these days, I will emerge as The Brother Nero.”

Update on Why WWE is Staying Clear of the Matt Hardy – Impact Dispute

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the WWE is distancing themselves from the battle between Matt Hardy and Impact Wrestling for the rights to the “Broken” gimmick because they don’t want to set a precedent for attempting to buy gimmicks from other companies.

Meltzer also stated that if WWE was truly not interested in the gimmick, they would tell Hardy to stop pursuing the character’s rights and utilizing “Broken” mannerisms on WWE TV.

WWE does want Matt to use the Broken gimmick in WWE, but has no interest in getting involved in the process to acquire its rights.

Matt Hardy Responds to Impact President Releasing His Contract

The battle between The Hardys and Impact Wrestling over the famed “Broken” gimmick continues to get uglier. Impact Wrestling President Ed Nordholm just fired off the latest shot in the battle by sending PWInsider a long list of communications between Impact and Matt Hardy.

He also included a four-page excerpt from Matt’s Impact contract, which stated that the company owns all intellectual property after their relationship ends. An email exchange with WWE was also included, in which WWE claimed they have “no interest” in getting involved in the battle for the gimmick.

Check it out:

Good afternoon,

In response to on-going speculation concerning our position with respect to the “Broken Brilliance” creative, I am providing this detailed log of our communications on the subject and the contractual structure of our relationship with Matt Hardy with respect to intellectual property matters (which is standard to our roster and in the industry).

There has never been any argument from Impact Wrestling that the Hardy’s were key contributors to the development of the characters and story line, or that Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy executed on their roles in spectacular fashion. But the position taken by the Hardys is a massive disservice to the contributions of the rest of the creative team at Impact Wrestling, including Jeremy Borash, Dave Lagano (sic), Matt Conway and Billy Corgan, and is totally at odds with the terms of their contracts.

The Hardys would have you believe that Anthem is somehow avoiding their lawyers to address this. This is the log of our communications with the Hardys and/or their lawyers. It is clear that we have not been avoiding them.

* March 10 – EBN speaks with executives at ROH about “Broken Brilliance” being used in ROH shows. I indicated willingness to provide an arrangement that would allow the creative to be used in ROH shows and encouraged ROH to have Matt speak with me if he wanted to pursue that discussion
* March 11 – EBN spoke at length with Matt by telephone about the structure of an amicable arrangement for use of the Broken Brilliance creative
* March 14 – Matt sent text message to Ed Nordholm at 4:05pm:

“Tried giving you a call, it rang & went busy. I’m open to working things out amicably as we spoke about. The lawyer who represent me is interested in seeing your offer. My lawyer’s email is {redacted} which you could send the offer to for review. Thanks.”

And I responded by text at 6:41 pm

“Thank you Matt. I was supposed to be [flying] into NYC today and am a little twisted. I will pull something together with [our] lawyers and try to get it over to your lawyer tomorrow or Thursday at latest”

* March 16 – At 8:25 pm I sent an update text to Matt:

Hi Matt. My lawyer got me a draft too late to get reviewed for today. I will look at it in the morning. Sorry for the delay”

And he responded at 9:16 pm

“Ok, he’s ready for it. Thanks for the update.”

* March 17 – counsel for Anthem Wrestling delivered draft proposal to counsel for Matt Hardy
* March 24 – counsel for Anthem Wresting followed up with Matt Hardy counsel requesting comments on the proposal
* March 27 – counsel for Matt Hardy responds that they have been away and have not reviewed the proposal but will be back “in the next few days”

After which no further communication until

* April 18 – counsel for Matt Hardy leaves a voice mail message for counsel for Anthem Wrestling asking to arrange a meeting
* April 20 – EBN contacts WWE by email to determine veracity of internet rumours concerning WWE interest in Broken Brilliance
* April 21 — WWE respond by email that there “is no interest on our end” {redacted email exchange attached}
* April 21 – counsel for Matt Hardy sends a follow up message requesting a meeting
* April 27 – lawyers speak to arrange a meeting
* May 16 – lawyers meet but no agreement reached

Finally, I am attaching a copy of the relevant provisions of Matt’s contract with Impact. The clause is virtually identical to the corresponding provisions of every wrestler under contract with Impact.

The facts are that we tried to accommodate the Hardys for their Ring of Honour engagements, and have tried to elicit an indication from WWE whether they have an interest in using the Broken Brilliance creative in WWE. We are not hoarding it from WWE; WWE is not interested in it.

We fully respect the decision of Matt and Jeff to return to WWE and appreciate all of their contributions to Impact Wrestling. We wish them every success.

Our focus is on the future and we will not have any further public comment on this matter.

Ed Nordholm

Matt’s response was much more direct and to the point, saying that his evidence will be released via the correct venue:

The Hardys Comment on Possible Singles Careers in WWE

WWE Monday Night RAW Tag Team Champions Matt and Jeff Hardy recently did an interview with The Sports Bible to talk about their return to the WWE and sitting atop the tag team division on RAW. During the interview, The Hardys were asked about possible singles careers moving forward, and you can check out what they had to say here:

Matt on a potential singles run:

“Speaking from my perspective, I think right now our goal, especially starting, coming back, being reintroduced to the WWE universe after being away for a substantial amount of time, really was to be a tag team – we became famous for being a tag team. I think down the road there will be a potential for both of us doing our own things; we’re both strong singles personalities in many ways, and I think as performers we’ve grown as we’ve got older; we’ve got smarter”

Matt’s dream matches for him and Jeff as singles competitors:

“Just for starters, if we get to where we need to be, I think ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy against Bray Wyatt would be an amazing deal, and you look at him [Jeff] – him vs Seth Rollins, him vs Finn Balor, either one of us vs Roman Reigns – there’s a lot of cool, interesting combinations of guys who became stars in the last five or six years that we’ve never worked against, it’s totally like a fresh slate. So there’s a lot of potential forces as singles competitors also.”

Matt Hardy Hints Return of Broken Character Could Come Soon

WWE is believed to want to run with Matt Hardy’s Broken character/universe. Unfortunately Impact Wrestling is claiming ownership of the characters. Speculation is that both sides are looking to make a deal which would allow the characters to appear on WWE programming.

Matt sent out the following on social media earlier today, indicating a deal may have been struck:

The Hardy Boyz in WWE

Previously Hardy had tweeted that his successful expedition of gold had contained his condition. This allowed Matt to perform as the old Matt Hardy from a storyline perspective. Although Matt has continued to lead live crowds in chants of “Delete! Delete!” and occasionally slipped into the character’s accent or manner of speaking.

Matt and Jeff Hardy are scheduled to defend their Raw tag team titles against Cesaro & Sheamus at Payback on Sunday.

Both shows air live on the FloSlam app for subscribers.

Update On Matt & Jeff Hardy’s Broken Universe Coming to WWE

We’ve got an update on Matt and Jeff Hardy’s “Broken” characters. Since returning to WWE at WrestleMania, the Hardys have been wrestling under their real names with some subtle references to the broken universe. Their legal battle with Impact Wrestling parent company Anthem is still ongoing, but WWE is working on bringing the Broken Universe to RAW.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is in talks with Impact Wrestling parent company Anthem to secure the rights for the Broken characters. Meltzer said,

“The plan is to do the Broken character. The delay is that they’ve gotta work out the deal [with Anthem] and the deal is not worked out … The goal is to work out a deal.”

Whether WWE licenses the rights to the Broken characters or outright acquires the trademarks, a deal is being worked on.

There is still a lot of excitement surrounding Matt and Jeff Hardy back in WWE, but WWE is aware their current gimmick will grow tired soon and the main storytelling potential lies with the Broken Universe.

Matt Hardy has been incorporating aspects of his various gimmicks in his current  character, referencing “Matt Facts” on Twitter but also using the Broken Matt accent and talking about deleting people.

Daniel Bryan & Brie Bella’s Baby Name, Big E Explains Why He’s Officiating Weddings

– Sheamus noted on Twitter that today marks 10 years since his WWE tryout.

– On last week’s episode of Total Divas, Nikki Bella said she thinks Brie “feels lost” since leaving WWE and had a rough time after leaving the company last year. Nikki said,

“Brie retired from WWE because she can’t be a mom and wrestle at the same time. Giving that up and not automatically getting pregnant, I feel like she’s just in this in-between stage. And I think she feels lost and it kind of makes me feel bad for her.”

Brie and husband Daniel Bryan are expecting a baby girl in about a month. Previously on the show, Brie revealed the child will be named Birdy Joe Danielson.

“Joe, her middle name, is after my grandfather – his name was Joseph, and he meant the world to me,” Brie said. “Birdy is because my husband and his whole family are B’s. And he married me, a B too, so his one request was that our kids have B names. I didn’t realise how hard it was to find girl B names, but we both came across Birdy and knew that was it!”

– Big E recently announced on Twitter that he is available to officiate weddings in the Los Angeles are later this month. He made sure to clarify he is not joking around.

Big E spoke to WWE.com about the decision to start officiating weddings and revealed it came about because he had some free time on his hands and he ‘really doesn’t do well’ with idle time. “I think I was talking about it in the locker room,” Big E said. “I actually have to give all credit to Enzo Amore. He came up with this idea. As soon as I heard it, I thought ‘This is kind of ridiculous, but kind of phenomenal, as well.’ So, I gave it some thought, ran it by a couple of my friends, got their feedback. I couldn’t really think of a reason not to do it and got even more excited about the prospect.”

As for what couples can expected from a Big E wedding, Big E knows people will probably expect to see him ‘in character’ like they see on WWE television. “I’m not going to approach it as a normal minister would,” he said. “My job is an entertainer, so my thought is people want to see me entertain. That’s something we can talk about, of course. If you have a grandmother at your wedding who is uncomfortable with me shaking my hips, that’s something that I can tone down. It’s a case-by-case basis. I’m sure people who would try to employ my services would want something fun, but we’ll talk about it.”

“I liked his final moment,” said Hart. “I enjoyed his last match, and I thought he gave his all. He’ll forever be one of the wrestling giants, and he is one of the guys I respected the most.”

The Hardys brought along their Raw Tag Team Championships and thanked WWE for allowing them to attend the IWC event. Matt Hardy cut a promo at the event but once again used a very subdued version of the “broken” gimmick. However, he did refer to Jeff Hardy as “Brother Nero” during the promo.

WWE Releases Top 10 Ladder Attacks From The Hardy Boyz

– Jeff Hardy is now able to travel to and wrestle in the U.K. after being barred from doing so since 2011. Since his conviction of drug possession and conspiracy to traffic drugs, he struck a plea bargain in October 2011 and was not allowed to travel there for five years. With no further legal issues, the time has expired and he is free to compete in the U.K. again.

– Mika Rotunda, the sister of WWE Superstars Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, is now working for WWE as a member of the production team. Mika has trained at the WWE Performance Center before and had a tryout back in the summer of 2015.

Matt and Jeff Hardy No Longer #BROKEN on RAW Talk

Fans of Matt and Jeff Hardy who are hoping the brothers will be performing their #BROKEN gimmicks in WWE had their hopes dealt a blow last night. After defeating Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows to retain their Raw tag team championships, the iconic tag team were Renee Young’s guests on Raw Talk.

The Hardy Boyz in WWE?

Despite the undeniable chants of “Delete! Delete!” throughout Amway Arena in Orlando, it appears as though WWE is only bringing back the old “Team Xtreme” version of the Hardys. This could change of course, but Matt had definitely reverted back to his old self in the interview.

On where the Hardys Have Been:
“We’ve been everywhere. Truly everywhere. One thing we were doing is we were on an expedition of gold. Where we were going to every federation or promotion that was worthwhile and win the tag team championship. And we did, we won every tag team championship that we went to a promotion and worked for. And to home back and win these, obviously the most prestigious championships there are just concluded our expedition of gold.” – Matt Hardy

“The perfect story. The perfect ending. I’ve got the Hardy girls now and Matt’s about to have the Hardy boys. . I’ve been a father for the last six years and it is the best thing thing ever to happen to me.”- Jeff Hardy

Both brothers would continue to talk about the other tag teams on Raw before concluding their brief appearance on the show.

Matt and Jeff Hardy Celebrate Championship Win Backstage

In the last few weeks Matt and Jeff Hardy have played a major role in TNA, ROH and now WWE. The legendary tag team made their return to the company last night after 7 years. The WrestleMania win comes 23 years after Matt first appeared on WWE programming.

WWE posted the following to their YouTube channel after the match:

Will Matt Hardy Be Using the #BROKEN Gimmick?

Judging by the above video Matt Hardy still plans on using elements of his BROKEN character. This could mean they have reached a deal with Anthem, or more likely the case is that WWE isn’t worried about any legal action from TNA’s new owners. A third option is that these were just videos which went out on YouTube, and Matt and Jeff probably just did whatever they wanted.

WWE also posted video of the Hardy brothers before the show.

More WWE and Matt Hardy #Broken References on Twitter

WWE has sent out another tweet which seems to be a subtle nod towards Matt Hardy’s #Broken character.

This is the second time this week WWE has tweeted out video of old Matt and Jeff Hardy matches and included a subtle reference to Matt’s new character.

Earlier this week WWE sent out the following:

Raw Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Championship Match at WrestleMania

The interactions between the Hardys and WWE’s social media accounts has led many to believe the Hardys are returning soon. It is also interesting to note that a ladder stipulation was recently added to the raw tag team championship match at WrestleMania. The Hardys were apart of the original WrestleMania triple threat ladder tag championship match, along with the Dudleyz and Edge & Christian. Ladder matches have been the signature Hardy match for some time now.

Additionally, King Maxel, tweeted out some photos which could be seen as a clue that his father plans on appearing in that ladder match.

https://twitter.com/BABYHARDYBRAND/status/846861754911150080

The tweets from King Maxel could simply be in reference to the Young Bucks vs. Hardys ladder match at ROH’s Supercard of Honor however.

Matt and Jeff Hardy “Reincarnate” the TNA Tag Team Title Belts

Yesterday before the start of Smackdown, Matt Hardy released a video on his YouTube channel. The video consists of him and Jeff dipping the TNA tag team titles into the “Lake of Reincarnation”. The team used the old TNA tag team belts which they are still in possession of.

Hardy Family vs. Anthem

Anthem Sports and Entertainment have been attempting to prevent the Hardys from using the #Broken universe in other promotions. The company has placed “TM” (trademarked) next to all videos featuring the Broken storyline on their YouTube page. They have also sent cease and desist letters to ROH and cable companies broadcasting their PPVs.

The Hardy family, most notably Reby, feel they went above and beyond the call of duty for TNA, only for the company to attempt to harm them on their way out. In the notes of the video Matt posted yesterday, he includes the following comments:

“After exerting everything within our VESSELS to make TNA trendy and cool again, we were betrayed by the OBSOLETE OWL. Since we carried the TNA Tag Titles to a CELESTIAL plane, as well as becoming greater than our host, the #7Deities mandated that I REINCARNATE these OBSOLETE Titles.. These titles have now been transformed into something worthy of The Greatest Tag Team in Space and Time.

This video was shot, edited and scored by the BRILLIANT Queen Rebecca Hardy, who also shot/edited/scored several similar vignettes for TNA without ever being paid, credited, or signing over the rights for TNA to use them. Rebecca, like Jeff and I, did many things for this brand because we’re upstanding beings. #HouseHardy will now continue to soar to new heights while the OWL fades away and classifies itself as OBSOLETE.”

Matt & Jeff Hardy Reportedly Offered WWE Contracts

WWE has extended new contract offers to Matt and Jeff Hardy, according to an exclusive report by Pro Wrestling Sheet. Matt and Jeff are currently working for Ring of Honor under short-term deals and are the reigning ROH tag team champions. The Hardy family is in the midst of a legal dispute with Impact Wrestling parent company Anthem over the rights to the “Broken Universe,” but that situation clearly hasn’t affected WWE’s interest in bring them back.

During our exclusive interview with Jeff Hardy last week, he spoke about his desire to bring the Broken Universe to WWE, become World Champion again and eventually be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

“I would love to introduce the Broken Universe to WWE eventually. I think it would be huge. As far as character driven or just a fresh vibe in in the pro wrestling world, yeah I think eventually I’m sure I’m going to jump back into the solo dimension and I’d love to be the world champion again. In my career in WWE, if it works out, the whole Hall of Fame and all that stuff. It started there and I’d like to end there.

For now, I’m just having a blast doing the indies and I love the Broken Universe stuff with Matt, I think it’s the best thing he’s ever done. It’s just hard to keep a straight face around him at times, but he can be serious and make sense in a weird way, it’s just so fun. I hope it lasts as long as it can.”

Matt and Jeff will be in Orlando during WrestleMania weekend for their ROH tag title defense against The Young Bucks. The gold will be up for grabs in a Ladder Match at ROH’s Supercard of Honor.

Jeff Hardy Talks Potential WWE Return, Anthem’s Legal Threats, Wanting To Be World Champion (Exclusive)

Jeff Hardy plays a former MMA fighter turned promoter in movie The Favorite, an inspirational true story currently in production. We had a chance to speak with Jeff on Tuesday and discussed him and Matt working for Ring of Honor, the latest on Anthem blocking the Hardy family from using the Broken Universe elsewhere, the possibility of returning to WWE, wanting to be World Champion again and more.  Here are the highlights:

His involvement in the movie The Favorite:

Jeff: I was asked a few months ago if I’d be interested in doing this, the role of a retired MMA fighter and now a promoter. I just looked over the script and it’s very interesting. It’s based on a true event, this guy that had a close call with death. I was very moved by it, so I’m here for one day only to film. It should be fun.

Does he have any other acting roles scheduled?

Jeff: No, just a lot of wrestling. March has been crazy, we’re going to finish it out strong in Orlando for WrestleMania weekend, we’re on 3 shows. We’re doing a Ring of Honor show in Lakeland, Florida where we’re wrestling the Young Bucks in a ladder match, so that should be a show stealer. No more movie roles for a while, this is a one time deal for right now.

If he would consider focusing more on acting down the road:

Jeff: Yeah, possibly, if this goes well and naturally I can’t wrestle forever. If my music doesn’t succeed, maybe more acting gigs might work out.

Reports that he and Matt have signed short-term deals with Ring of Honor:

Jeff: We do, it’s a short term deal and it’s cool because we can still work the indies like we’ve been doing. We’ve really had a good time on the independent circut. We sell a lot of merchandise and take a lot of pictures with fans. It’s great to be your own boss and being able to do TV with Ring of Honor as well.

The latest on Impact Wrestling parent company Anthem blocking the Hardy family from using the Broken Universe elsewhere:

Jeff: It’s kind of in limbo right now. It’s just very heartbreaking. I gave 7 years of my life to Impact Wrestling and TNA and for them to hold this against us .. When they threatened to sue Ring of Honor .. What they said was a complete lie, that “they developed the Broken Universe” for us, which is so untrue. We did that all on our own. It started when I broke my leg in April of 2015. The positive outcome of [my accident] is that Broken Matt Hardy was born. Brother Nero was born as well. The stuff we did at our home, Final Deletion, was the highest rated show all year for Impact Wrestling and it was just 4 guys and a couple sound people. We did it all on our own and we totally developed the characters all on our own. For them to hold this against us like this is very sad and heartbreaking. But I think in the end, we’ll come out on top.

In late 2016 when TNA Wrestling’s future was uncertain and Dixie Carter, Billy Corgan and Anthem were fighting for control of the company, did he and Matt align themselves with any particular camp?

Jeff: Oh fore sure. If Billy was still the President and he owned the company, I’m pretty sure I’d still be there because I get along with Billy great. He is so open minded and he was out there when we filmed Delete or Decay and he was great. He had great ideas and he was out there all night until the sun came up. That said a lot to me so fore sure, if Billy owned the company I’m sure I’d still be under contract. I was excited, to continue to move forward, but oh well, it’s done now so I’m looking forward to future possibilities.

Returning to WWE, his desire to be World Champion again and wanting to bring the Broken Universe to WWE:

Jeff: I would love to introduce the Broken Universe to WWE eventually. I hope it lasts as long as it can.

If he still follows the WWE product:

Jeff: I do, I just watched a little bit of RAW last night and saw Aries debut. I was very proud of him because we’ve had a lot of good matches back in the day and had a great feud. So I was glad to see that and i’m just now catching up with the whole Goldberg movement. He’s destroying everybody until Mania and that’s going to be something big between him and Brock. I tune in every now and then, but I’ve gotta be honest, I kind of miss those crowds. Hopefully I revisit them.

Matt Hardy Comments on ROH Wrestling Style

Matt Hardy, fresh off signing a ROH contract, gave an interview with ROHwrestling.com, and revealed what it is about Ring of Honor that keeps bringing him back. This will be Hardy’s third stint in with the promotion. His first was in 2005, after having been released from WWE. Hardy then returned again to the company from 2012-2014.

Now, in 2017, Hardy is at the peak of his popularity and back for another ROH run. When asked what it is that he enjoys about the company, Matt had this to say:

“Ah, yes, my mortal vessel has had a couple of runs in the Honorable Ring (ROH) before I made my return in New York City. Something I’ve always enjoyed about ROH is that they’ve really stripped wrestling down to its true essence. In its essence it’s great athleticism and storytelling and that is what they do better than anyone else. They’re mantra of being the best wrestling on the planet is very true to form. ROH truly does pro wrestling in a modern form better than anyone else right now. I am a wrestling fan still at my core because I inhibit this vessel, so that makes me love ROH.”

Matt Hardy Contract Length

It is not currently known how long of a contract Matt and Jeff Hardy have with ROH. Some speculation is the deal is only a short-term one to keep the Hardys on TV leading up to an eventual return to WWE programming. Others feel the Hardys know they won’t get the same creative freedom they are enjoying now from WWE, and will simply continue their act on ROH programming and indie events for as long as they are able to make good money doing so.
