One of the matches advertised for iMPACT! is Jeff Hardy’s “Open Challenge.” The open challenge is expected to be met by a wrestler let go by World Wrestling Entertainment earlier this year.
— Former ECW performer Francine Fournier, 38, has declined TNA Wrestling’s invitation to appear at Sunday’s HardCORE Justice pay-per-view event.
Following her unceremonious departure from World Wrestling Entertainment in October 2006, Fournier imminently announced her retirement from the professional wrestling industry. Since that time “The Queen of Extreme” has maintained her retirement, though last year she held an ECW reunion show with proceeds from the event donated to the American Cancer Society.

TNA Wrestling performer Jeff Hardy is scheduled to appear in court today to face multiple drug charges stemming from his arrest on September 11, 2009. His trial will take place in the Superior Court of Moore County in Carthage, North Carolina.
Court records state Hardy faces four counts of drug possession. Following his last court appearance in June, there was a discrepancy on whether three of the four counts were dropped.
Hardy is scheduled to appear in Superior Court alongside 30 other defendants at 9:30 a.m. Last month, Hardy was granted a continuance of his case until today, due to the court running out of time during the morning session.
The list of charges against Hardy are as follows:
1. Felony drug trafficking. Two felony charges of possession of a Schedule lll controlled substance or drug.
2. Felony possession of cocaine. Felony maintaining of a dwelling for redistribution of controlled substances.

— Unlike the case of Roxxi, there has been no strong reaction to ODB’s departure from TNA Wrestling. A number of people within the company felt bad for Roxxi because she showed up for work on the day of Slammiversary and hastily informed her services would no longer be required. Many feel the Knockouts division “has gone to hell” as Roxxi was one of the better in-ring performers they had left. On another note, there is said to be no interest on the company’s part in marketing women’s wrestling, sans pushing “The Beautiful People” and Angelina Love.
— Jeff Hardy’s neck was bothering him following last weekend’s live events.
— Recently departed TNA Knockout Roxxi is currently training to compete in the fitness competition at the NPC Jay Cutler Classic in Boston.
Earlier this week, we reported that it appeared most of the drug charges against Jeff Hardy had been dropped, since the North Carolina courts website had updated the public records of Hardy’s case – stating that he was now only being charged with Conspiracy to Traffic Opium.
Unfortunately for Jeff Hardy and his fans – news of any charges being dropped was an error by the The Moore County Superior Court. Hardy was in court on June 3rd, but time ran out and there was no time for his case to be heard. When the court listed Hardy’s next court appearance for July, most of the charges against Hardy were no longer listed (the erorr).
North Carolina’s Pilot Newspaper spoke to District Attorney Maureen Krueger, who stated:
“His charges are still pending. In fact, a new one was added.”
The new charge against Hardy is Conspiracy to Traffic Opium, a felony.

— There is much internal concern regarding the state of Jeff Hardy. Many feel his work since coming to TNA has been lackluster not to mention that his promos are rambling and sometimes virtually incoherent. Several people are comparing his current state to his previous run in the company, which occurred as a result of his termination from World Wrestling Entertainment for erratic behavior, drug use, refusal to enter rehab and deteriorating ring performance.

— There was said to be a collective groan among a large group of wrestlers and TNA personnel watching iMPACT! on the backstage monitor when Eric Young interrupted Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy’s post-match celebration on Monday. The “unanimous opinion” was that Young killed the moment due to the fact that he’s nowhere near the level of Van Dam and Hardy. While everyone describes “EY” as a nice guy, the feeling is he’s been given so much television time over the years due to his friendship with the company’s power players. It was reported last week that Kong was telling friends within the industry that the company had agreed to release her from her contract. This coincides with a recent Twitter post where she thanked Dixie Carter and TNA Wrestling for wishing her the best in her future endeavors. She had reportedly been asking for a fifteen percent pay increase or a contractual release, with company officials opting for the latter.
One of the holdups in her release becoming official is that TNA wanted to include a lengthy non-compete agreement, while she was asking for the traditional ninety-day non-compete. Sources are unaware of the length of the non-compete agreement that will be enforced. She is the fourth female performer to part ways with the company this year, following Alissa Flash, Roxxi and Traci Brooks.

They noted that around 4AM on Wednesday, an Erlanger police officer patrolling Crescent Springs saw a group of five people being rowdy in a shopping center parking lot. The officer told the group they needed to leave and some of them got a taxi. This was shortly before the taxi driver pulled over and called 911 after the incident in the backseat.
While other reports have came out since then, Cincinnati.com noted that Helms ran and was later found by police but Matt Hardy couldn’t be found by them. It’s been mentioned now that Hardy was not sober and the woman involved is now claiming that the whole thing was blown out of proportion.
A conviction on the misdemeanor charge of public intoxication carries a fine of $25 and court costs of $134. Helms and Jericho can appear in court on February 16th to challenge the charges or they can have the charges dismissed by paying $159 total before court date.
WWE released a statement to the paper saying that they assume the authorities will take proper action if necessary but declined further comment.
