Jeff Hardy Offers Bizarre Suggestion For New Match Type

Jeff Hardy has an idea for a new match and it’s … interesting.

Hardy has been known to dive into creative ventures. Besides being a future WWE Hall of Famer, Jeff is also an artist and a musician. Now, he’s trying his hand at pitching match types.

This Idea Will Leave You Dizzy

During a chat with the folks at Inside The Ropes, Jeff Hardy revealed his pitch for an “upward spiral match.”

Yes, you read that right.

“I’m out there, but I have this idea for an upward spiral match….what if there was a match to which you wrestled for five minutes and then the ring starts spinning, and then it spins at a certain speed for a certain amount of time, and then it can stop.”

Hardy continued, “Naturally, you’d get dizzy but then another two minutes or whatever it starts to spin again, but now it’s a little faster. I’m just curious to see if you can run spots as the ring’s spinning and be safe about it. An upward spiral match.”

Clearly, this type of match doesn’t really fit Jeff Hardy. Willow, on the other hand, would thrive in this type of environment.

Perhaps even Jeff’s concept character, Jeff Ross, could have success in the match as well. Jeff Ross is a character idea from Hardy based on late painter Bob Ross.

I have a headache …

Jeff Hardy wants to revive Willow via Bob Ross & The Fiend

Jeff Hardy continues to talk about reviving his mysterious alter ego, Willow. His latest storyline pitch involves The Fiend and painter Bob Ross.

Hardy is certainly a creative guy. Outside the ring, he expresses himself through music and art. During a recent chat with Metro UK, he presented a storyline idea that’s “out there” even for him.

Specifically, Hardy pitched a storyline idea that would have him portraying a painter named Jeff Ross. His split personality would be Willow, similar to Bray Wyatt and The Fiend.

“I can’t help but think how cool it was when I first witnessed The Fiend, and the light shutting down,” Hardy said. “It was so cool to me – that’s kinda my thing too, I was like, ‘Man, this is so cool!’ Now he’s not here anymore, I think there’s something really cool Willow could do similar to that.”

Jeffrey Ross

Bob Ross

Jeff Hardy said that his own ‘FireFly Fun House’ type character could be a Bob Ross-style painter named Jeff Ross.

“It wouldn’t be exactly like that, but I’ve even had ideas like a Jeff Ross character – like I was a painter, a really silly painter Jeffery Ross, and then Willow would be my Fiend.

Hardy brought his Willow character to TNA Wrestling in 2014. He had previously used the character in the OMEGA promotion he ran with his brother Matt from 1997-2000.

Jeff Hardy Reveals He Owns Song After Re-Signing with WWE

WWE superstar Jeff Hardy has shared that he owns his theme song “No More Words.”

Hardy appeared on BT Sport’s The Run-in to detail his deal with WWE. Hardy re-signed with the company last year. He revealed that the contract length is two years, and WWE gave Hardy ownership of his current theme song.

“…When I re-signed, I was like okay, I’ll sign for two more years as long as I can get my own theme back from 08 or 09, called No More Words,” said Hardy. He shared that he learned that WWE owned the song in negotiations.

He brought the song back at Monday Night Raw on July 19th, when he wrestled Karrion Kross. During the interview, Hardy shared bringing the theme back and the reaction. “…The first night in front of a live audience, I got it back,” said Hardy. He continued, “…It was so powerful, man, and I think they realize okay yeah that was a good decision.”

Jeff Hardy Contract Length

Hardy has one more year left on his contract. By the time his deal is over with WWE, he will be 45 years old. It is unclear if Hardy is interested in re-signing with the company when his contract is up. Matt Hardy has expressed interest in wanting to see his brother in All Elite Wrestling.

Some WWE fans have criticized the company use of Hardy. In September, WWE used Hardy in a segment with the 24/7 championship. Last year, he also suggested to BT Sports that he’d love to have a character change by being his alter ego Willow. It’s unclear if he has pitched the idea to WWE.

“Years ago, I would be Jeff Hardy, and then I’d be this guy Willow and Willow is my go-to wrestling persona. So, man, and that’s another dream of mine that I would like to do before I’m done, to bring Willow into the WWE Universe and see what happens,” Hardy said.

Hardy is a member of Team Smackdown for the elimination tag team match at Survivor Series on November 21st. While fans may be unhappy with WWE’s use of Hardy, re-signing with the company gave him his theme back. For now, it seems Hardy is happy with the decision.

“A Darker Side Of Jeff Hardy, I Think, Needs To Kind Of Come Out”

Many believe that it’s the right time to turn Jeff Hardy heel after having worked only as a babyface since his WWE return in 2017. The high-flying star has now revealed that he has thought about it too.

The former world champion recently appeared on WWE’s Out of Character podcast for Fox Sports. Among other things, he also discussed the prospect of a potential heel turn.

Hardy was asked if being a heel is something that interests him. Jeff admitted that it does, but he has found it hard to turn fans against him.

“Yeah, yeah it does but I don’t think I can — like when I did the Anti-Christ thing, I mean it’s really hard to make people hate me and I think it would be kind of like done in a different way but it would be definitely something I never really dove into before.”

Jeff Hardy Planning A Heel Turn

Willow
Could Willow be Jeff Hardy’s heel persona?

Jeff Hardy explained how he is not as fast as he used to be due to his age and the 2015 knee surgery caused by his bike accident where he broke his leg. That is why he thinks it’s time for him to focus a bit more on his character work:

“I don’t know how much longer I’m gonna be wrestling but almost like a darker side of Jeff Hardy I think needs to kind of come out and I haven’t figured it out yet but I have these crazy ideas.

I wrote down a few of ‘em, but yeah, it’s my time to kind of focus more on the character stuff instead of the high-flying moves and the TLC matches and all that stuff because I think there’s something that’s waiting to be unleashed within me.”

Jeff Hardy had also recently discussed how he wants to bring back the Willow character one more time before retirement. Now the question is if the return of the character can open the door for his heel turn.

Jeff Hardy: Damian Priest Reminds Me Of My Younger Self

Jeff Hardy sees a lot of him in Damian Priest.

Tonight (Sept. 26), Hardy will be featured in a triple threat match for the United States Championship. Sheamus will also be a part of the match, while Priest is the defending champion. The action will take place on the Extreme Rules card.

Appearing on WWE’s The Bump, Hardy said that Priest gives him flashbacks of a younger version of himself.

“Damian Priest, I am such a huge fan of him and he has been on fire lately, man. We actually got to team last night and it was amazing. He reminds me a lot of my younger self. So that’s what’s kind of scary and intimidating and all that good stuff that creates a wonderful match so I’m looking forward to getting in there with Damian and Sheamus at the same time. It’s going to be insane.”

Priest has been given a steady push on WWE TV. He had a pivotal match on the WrestleMania card back in April. He teamed with pop star Bad Bunny to take on The Miz and John Morrison. Priest and Bad Bunny emerged victorious.

As for Hardy, he’s suddenly in a better role on TV than he has been over the past several weeks. Many fans criticized WWE for throwing Hardy into the 24/7 Championship mix randomly. He has quickly found himself back in a better spot.

Stick with SEScoops tonight for Extreme Rules results throughout the event.

Updated Card For Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV

WWE has confirmed that the United States championship match announced for the Extreme Rules PPV will now be a triple threat among Jeff Hardy, Sheamus and the current champion Damian Priest.

Tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured Jeff Hardy facing Sheamus in a one on one match. The stipulation for the bout was that Hardy would be added to the championship match if he won against Sheamus.

The ending of this match saw Hardy trying to deliver a Swanton bomb but his opponent got his knees up. Though as Sheamus looked to capitalize, Jeff managed to counter. He rolled Sheamus up for the win and got added to the Extreme Rules match.

It’s been rumored that the US title match at the upcoming show will be a tables match but WWE has not confirmed this stipulation as of now.

Extreme Rules Matches

WWE has also confirmed that the Universal championship bout between Roman Reigns and Finn Balor is going to be an Extreme Rules match. After the latest change, here is the updated Extreme Rules match card:

  • Extreme Rules Universal Championship Match: “The Demon” Finn Balor vs. Roman Reigns
  • Raw Women’s Championship Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Charlotte Flair
  • SmackDown Women’s Championship Match: Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch
  • WWE United States Championship Match: Sheamus vs. Damian Priest vs. Jeff Hardy
  • SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The Street Profits vs. The Usos
  • Singles Match: Carmella vs. Liv Morgan

WWE Extreme Rules this year will be taking place from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio this Sunday on September 26.

Jeff Hardy Wants To Bring Back Willow One More Time Before Retirement

Jeff Hardy has not given up on his Willow The Wisp gimmick and he wants to portray it on television one more time before hanging his boots for good.

The former world champion recently had an interview with the Culture State podcast. He talked about things such as being part of the first ever TLC match and more.

Discussing the possibility of bringing back The Willow character, Hardy revealed that he recently talked to the guy who originally made the mask for the gimmick:

“Speaking of Willow, I was just talking to the guy who makes the mask, who made it back then, he’s an awesome mask maker and making a new Willow mask

And talking about the possibility of Willow entering the scene once again before my career is over. There we go, it’s gonna happen,”

Jeff Hardy created Willow The Wisp character during the very early stage of his career. He has since brought it back a couple of times, including for a brief 2014 run in TNA.

Though the chances of WWE officials allowing him to use an outside character on their programming are slim.

The possibility of AEW allowing the use of the gimmick is far greater, that is if Jeff joins the promotion in the future as his brother Matt Hardy hopes.

Matt Hardy Hopes Jeff Hardy Makes His Way To AEW One Day

Matt Hardy would like to see his brother Jeff eventually make the jump to AEW.

Matt and Jeff have been a part of some of the most memorable moments in wrestling. The two took the tag team world by storm as The Hardy Boyz. While they have been on singles runs, they seem to always get back together as a team. As it stands now, Matt competes in AEW, while Jeff is in WWE.

Matt spoke to Adam’s Apple and said that he’s enjoying his time in AEW at the moment.

“Tony Khan is great. I think he’s really on the pulse of pro wrestling in 2021, and he knows how to utilize everyone from top to bottom.

“They’re keeping older guys, or veterans so to say, and utilizing them right while also building up talent. And wins and losses matter and they’re really taking a sports-centered approach that even I had to get used to.”

When asked if Jeff Hardy will ever make his way to AEW, Matt made it clear that it’s something he’d like to see.

“Fingers crossed, man!”

Back in Sept. 2020, Matt explained to Chris Van Vliet why Jeff wasn’t free of his WWE contract as soon as he was.

“Jeff had two major surgeries during his deal. He had shoulder surgery and then he had the knee surgery. He also had some personal time off he needed to take. Altogether it was about a year and eight months,” Hardy explained. “Once that happens in WWE if they still continue to pay you, they can extend his contract so he had a year and eight months tacked on to his deal as opposed to my deal. I worked all the way through without ever being injured, so that is why Jeff is still working there now.”

Jeff ended up signing a new contract with WWE. Fightful Select reported that the deal runs through either the end of 2022 or early 2023.

Jeff Hardy On WWE Using His Personal Struggles For Storyline

The personal struggles of Jeff Hardy have been a topic of discussion among fans recently, even more so after WWE used his real-life issues into his feud with Sheamus. Though if the former world champion is to be believed, then he is not bothered by the publicity of his personal battles and instead it feels like therapy to him.

Hardy talked about this during a recent interview on Wrestling Inside the Ropes with James Stewart. He revealed that the officials asked him if he was comfortable with the storyline beforehand:

“It was just an idea. It all starts as an inkling, a concept, and then naturally, they ask if you’re comfortable with that, for me, all that stuff is like therapy. It’s like being honest with the world. The people that have pretty much provided me with an incredible living, you know, over the years, my fans, the WWE Universe.

I’m open minded to anything, and if I feel comfortable with it, I roll with it.” said Jeff Hardy, “I’ve never felt uncomfortable with anything they’ve ever pitched to me.”

The charismatic enigma then discussed the use of cinematic matches in recent times. He mentioned the Final Deletion and claimed that they had a lot of fun shooting that. Jeff also shared the idea of a cinematic match with The Usos. He said that it was one of his biggest dream matches and it’s one of the things he would still love to do.

Jeff Hardy Comments On Relationship With Vince McMahon, How Long Can He Still Go

Fans have not been happy with Jeff Hardy’s descend in WWE. A former WWE champion in his own right, Hardy has been seen among the group chasing the 24/7 championship on WWE programming in recent times.

The former world champion recently had an interview with Felger & Massaroti. He talked about things such as his goals in the company and more.

When asked how long he sees himself continuing his wrestling career, Hardy claimed that he has no idea and any match he wrestles can be his last:

“I have no idea. Every match I have now might be my last match. Sometimes, the little things kill. It’s so easy to get hurt. I just don’t know. I live week-to-week and match-to-match.”

Jeff Hardy On Relationship With Vince McMahon

Amidst the fan flare about his position within the company, Jeff Hardy was asked about his relationship with Vince McMahon. Replying to it, he labeled it as ‘business relationship’:

“I’m so grateful to have this opportunity to be a WWE superstar and very thankful and grateful for every show that I’m on.

It don’t matter what I’m doing, I’m blessed to be part of WWE still. It’s a business relationship. I try to do the best I can for him and for WWE. Hopefully that’s enough.”

Apart from this, Jeff Hardy talked about things such as the return of live audience after a year, potentially becoming universal champion and more.

Jeff Hardy: “I Show Up to Work, Do What They Need Me To Do & Move On”

Jeff Hardy was involved in a segment on RAW this week where he was chasing after the 24/7 Championship. Many fans have voiced criticism of having a multi-time former world champion in such a segment.

Hardy was asked about his chase of the 24/7 title during a recent appearance on Boston’s 98.5 The Sports Hub.

“Monday night in Miami, that’s just what I felt like doing, that’s what I had to do,” said Hardy. I was in the chase for the 24/7 Title and it just didn’t work out. It’s one of those things, I show up to work and do what they need me to do and move on. That’s in the past and this Monday is the future so I’m super excited.”

Reactions to WWE’s Booking of Jeff Hardy

Several fans have reacted to the segment on social media.

According to a report from PWInsider, Jeff Hardy was seen backstage for tonight’s RAW, and will return to the ring to wrestle.

Hardy was last seen in action on July 19, when he defeated a RAW TV-debuting Karrion Kross. Hardy was removed from TV after testing positive for COVID-19 to quarantine himself for two weeks.

The positive COVID-19 test put a stop to the feud with Kross that had reportedly been planned. Fightful indicated that the original plan was for Kross to face Jeff Hardy again on the July 26 episode of Raw, and lose for a second time.

There’s no word on who Hardy will face for his return. The following matches and segments have been announced for Monday’s show, starting at 8pm EST:

  • Randy Orton returns after being off RAW for over a month to open the show
  • Bobby Lashley will respond to Goldberg regarding his SummerSlam WWE title defense

Raw Match Nixed After Jeff Hardy Tested Positive For Coronavirus

Jeff Hardy, unfortunately, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier yesterday. The news was revealed by a music venue called recordBar in Kansas City. The former world champion was scheduled for a meet and greet event there on Monday.

Though it appears that this wasn’t the only plan that had to be halted due to his positive test. According to PWInsider, the former champion was scheduled to compete in a match on this Monday’s episode of Raw.

Per the site, Hardy was scheduled to compete against Karrion Kross in a rematch from last week’s episode of the show. Though this match has been canceled now.

For those who don’t know, the high-flying star faced the debuting NXT champion in a one-on-one match during last Monday’s episode of the Red Branded Show.

To the surprise of many, Jeff Hardy picked up a victory over Kross in this match. He pinned the NXT star with some help from the ropes after a powerbomb.

It’s said that this surprising result was part of a long-term plan for the current champion. It’s yet to be seen how the company will handle things now that Hardy has to be taken off-screen for at least a couple of weeks.

Jeff Hardy Has Reportedly Tested Positive For Covid

WWE superstar Jeff Hardy was supposed to take part in a meet and greet after Raw this Monday night at recordBar in Kansas City but the event has been cancelled because of Hardy testing positive for coronavirus.

The music venue released a statement from their Facebook page revealing that the former world champion will not be taking part in any live events for at least two weeks:

“Jeff Hardy just tested positive for covid this morning, and will have to quarantine for the next two weeks, and will not be participating in any live events for the next two weeks.”

As with other positive cases, WWE has not commented on his status. Hardy himself has been quiet so far as well. Though if the report is true then the high-flying star will miss upcoming WWE shows for at least two weeks.

Jeff Hardy wrestled on this past Monday’s episode of Raw where he picked up a surprising victory over the NXT champion Karrion Kross. This was Kross’ official debut match for the red brand.

There is no word yet on how Hardy’s expected absence might affect the plans for the NXT star. We will have to see if Kross makes an appearance on this Monday’s episode of Raw or if he is kept off TV as well.

Jeff Hardy Writes a Poem to Welcome the WWE Universe Back to RAW

WWE’s Jeff Hardy is the ‘Charismatic Enigma’ and this certainly extends beyond his in-ring antics. Known for his creative side in all avenues of life, he recently took to social media to debut a new poem he had written. The words were scribed ahead of his return to RAW this week, moreover, as an ode to the fans who returns alongside him.

In fact, Jeff Hardy returned to claim what can only be classed as a shock victory over the debuting Karrion Kross.

Universal Adrenaline: A Poem

2020 shortly evolved into the unknown,

A return to silence made me question everything.

Hearing your voices only in my head,

From past memories your chants are engraved in my brain.

It feels like a decade since you’ve been gone,

Virtual worlds have reset normality.

I imagine a world without the pandemic,

A world where sanity and insanity develop a perfect compromise.

In this world were close,

In this world we were free,

In this world we were fearless,

It’s been over a year since I’ve seen your smiles.

The empty arenas are about to fill,

Adrenaline again changing now from then.

Re-emerging to life,

Re-inventing the show,

Re-creating the auroa,

Re-assuring, I know.

It feels like a decade since I’ve felt it,

The virtual worlds have replaced live energy.

It’s time to get it back, welcome back,

It’s time to re-engage, turn the viral page of WWE’s infinitive chapter,

It’s Universal eternal, inspiring ever after

I see a world without the pandemic,

A world where you and I develop the perfect adrenaline.

In this world we are close and free,

In this world we are bold and fearless,

In this world we are not alone,

In this world we are home, again

Jeff Hardy Lead a Night of Returns for Monday Night Raw

It was a big night for Jeff Hardy. Not only did he create his work of lyrical art, but he returned to action in stunning fashion. He also marked the return of live audiences with the return of his No More Words entrance theme.

It was certainly a big night for the multi-time champion as he became the first man to ever defeat Karrion Kross via pinfall. However, the manner of his victory is teasing a heel turn for Jeff Hardy. Hardy’s last heel run came in 2011, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Jeff Hardy WWE Contract Update

WWE RAW Superstar Jeff Hardy was defeated in pretty quick fashion this week on the program. Facing a returning Jinder Mahal, Hardy was on the receiving end of a loss whilst Mahal made a big return.

Mahal was flanked by former NXT tag team Indus Sher (Rinku Singh and Dilser Shanky). They are now going by the names Veer and Shanky.

Jinder also appeared on the May 3rd Main Event TV tapings where he beat Hardy in a singles match. Mahal also worked the Superstar Spectacle special back in January that aired on the WWE Network. Interestingly, Mahal teamed up with The Bollywood Boyz to face Drew McIntyre and his new on-screen cohorts Indus Sher.

With Jeff Hardy seemingly falling further and further down the card, fans have been assuming that he will be leaving the company at some point soon.

Jeff Hardy is not going to be in a position to work elsewhere anytime soon. The site He signed a new contract with WWE back in 2020. It’s not known exactly how long the deal is for, but it was believed to be for 2-3 years.

Even if Jeff were looking to leave and potentially join his brother Matt in AEW? He would have at least another year on his contract with WWE.

Would you like to see Jeff Hardy join his brother Matt at some point in AEW? Let us know in the comments

Jeff Hardy Comments On Matt Hardy’s Fall At All Out

Jeff Hardy recently commented on what was going through his head when he saw his brother Matt get knocked out at AEW All Out in September. He spoke to Metro UK recently about what happened.

”Terrifying! When he tried to get up and then he fell down – when you hit your head hard, that’s scary stuff,” Jeff Hardy said. “That was scary, man, with Matt – flesh on concrete, it was scary when he couldn’t walk. Gosh, man – thank God he’s OK, but that’s part of the game.”

Jeff himself took a nasty bump not long ago. He was wrestling Elias in a Symphony of Destruction match on RAW when he appeared to hit his head hard on the ring steps.

“Even in that Symphony of Destruction match with Elias, people thought my head was messed up from the stairs but it was easy, my head is fine,’ Jeff continued. “When I did the Whisper in the Wind and he hit me in the butt with the guitar, my back is still messed up from that.”

Hardy defeated Elias in the Symphony of Destruction match on November 30th, 2020. He dropped a match to Randy Orton on last week’s edition of WWE RAW.

Jeff Hardy Thinks Match Between Willow & Bray Wyatt’s Fiend Would Be Magical

Jeff Hardy has previously talked about a possible match between his Willow character and Bray Wyatt’s The Fiend gimmick. Clearly, this is something that he’s interested in doing.

The former WWE Champion did so again, but in further detail, while speaking with the Digital Spy

“I think there’s something magical that can happen between Jeff Hardy and Bray Wyatt and The Fiend and Willow, my alter Nero that will come back to life.”

Hardy noted that he has this huge vision of a black wedding dress and Willow almost being a god that is a weird figure who doesn’t make any sense to anybody.

Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy

Hardy stated that perhaps the two characters can team up together then fight each other.

“It’s crazy, it’s very cinematic and I think there’s something very special that can happen between The Firefly Fun House and the Fly Light Zone and the imagination here at my property. I can’t wait. I can’t wait because it’s possible, man. it’s totally possible.”

The match is possible as Wyatt and Hardy are currently on Monday Night Raw. Of course, Hardy may have to wait a bit longer considering Randy Orton burned The Fiend at TLC.

Eric Bischoff On How Dixie Carter Handled Jeff Hardy In TNA

Former WCW President Erich Bischoff reflected on his time in TNA back in 2010 during an episode of his 83 Weeks podcast on AdFreeShows. The episode saw Bischoff and Conrad Thompson looking back on TNA Final Resolution 2010. During their conversation, Bischoff also addressed how Dixie Carter handled Jeff Hardy during that time.

Bischoff confessed he did not enjoy his time in TNA back in 2010. He claimed he wasn’t in “TV shape,” explaining how he was carrying “15 or 20 extra pounds” at that time.

“I didn’t put forth the effort. My performances were generally decent or pretty good, but my physical appearance, I look back and I’m embarrassed,” Bischoff confessed. “I wished somebody would have pulled me aside and said get a haircut and lose 20 pounds, dress a little better and show up next week.”

He admitted part of the reason behind his lackluster approach was because he “really wasn’t into it.”

Bischoff added how it wasn’t his goal to be on TV in TNA. He wasn’t excited about being involved as, he argued in comparison to WCW and WWE, “TNA was a notch or four down.”

Bischoff explained how he’d “already been to that mountain.”

However, “I didn’t say that to myself when I got there. I didn’t say that to myself every time it was time to go out and do a scene, but deep down inside, that’s how I felt about it.”

Eric Bischoff acknowledged how TNA’s usage of him stemmed from wanting to get the “biggest bang for their dollar.”

He acknowledged how “Part of it was me. I’m not going to put it all on somebody else. That would not be fair or honest. I would allow myself to get sucked in because it made sense on paper, but I wasn’t passionate about it.”

Dixie Carter’s Handling of Jeff Hardy’s Issues

Eric Bischoff then turned his attention to how Dixie Carter handled Jeff Hardy’s substance issues whilst maintaining her TNA duties. He stressed how “Dixie loved Jeff Hardy.”

He added how Dixie Carter was a “healer” and a “fixer.” According to Bischoff, she would “look for broken people and fix them.” He explained how Dixie almost became like a mother to Jeff during that difficult time.

“Dixie didn’t talk a lot about Jeff to me or probably to anybody else. What a mistake, right? But the intention was there. Her intentions were honorable and good,” Bischoff said. “I think because of the lack of wrestling experience or lack of experience in general on Dixie’s part, she knew she was taking a risk but I don’t think she realized how big a risk she was taking, not only for Jeff, but for the people Jeff was in the ring with.”

Jeff Hardy defeated Matt Morgan at TNA Final Resolution 2010. They competed in a No Disqualification matchup for the TNA World Championship.

Jeff Hardy Update Following Crazy Spot On Monday’s RAW

Jeff Hardy competed in a “Symphony of Destruction” match against Elias during Monday’s WWE Raw. Unfortunately, Hardy appeared to sustain a head injury during a key moment following a Swanton Bomb to the outside of the ring.

Upon driving Elias through a table, Hardy hit the back of his head on the steel steps. This impact prompted the referee to immediately check on him to make sure he was okay.

Discussing the scary moment during Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer divulged what they had been told from people backstage following the incident.

According to Alvarez, Hardy was said to be okay. He confessed, however, he wasn’t entirely sure to what extent. He stressed that Hardy still banged his head on the steps, acknowledging the seriousness of the potential damage.

Meltzer added how Hardy immediately grabbed his head after the impact. He noted how he was “walking around like he was hurting real bad” before stressing that it “wasn’t a sell.”

“He was looking to see if he split his head open, which it didn’t appear that he did but I had heard that there was kind of an expectation that he had a concussion but he hadn’t been diagnosed as having one because that wouldn’t come as yet anyway.”

Jeff Hardy defeated Elias in a ‘Symphony of Destruction’ match last on Monday Night Raw, ending their feud.

Darby Allin On Signing With AEW, Jeff Hardy Comparisons, Future Goals

AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin has opened up about signing with All Elite Wrestling and how he feels about being compared to Jeff Hardy.

Speaking with Inside the Ropes, Allin shared how the moment he discovered Cody Rhodes was interested in signing him, he immediately took the initiative and reached out.

“I heard that he was interested in hiring me, and the moment I heard that I just blew his phone up, and I was like, ‘Dude, I need this, I need this. Like, there’s nowhere else I want to go. I want to have my creative freedom there. This is it, get me involved.’ So I just called him off the hook.”

He explained how the key phrase that enticed him to AEW was the promise “creative freedom.” Allin stated how “[…] if I’m going to make it in this world, I’m going to do it as Darby Allin. No one else. I’m not going to have anybody change who I am. Period. So, AEW is my calling card.”

Darby Allin On Jeff Hardy Comparisons

When asked about comparisons between himself and WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy, Allin shared how he’s “fine” with being compared.

He confessed he “never searched” to be compared to anybody but acknowledged how “if it’s there, it’s there.”

Ultimately, he believes there will only ever be one Darby Allin, just like there will only be one Jeff Hardy.

Allin also shared his interest in a potential matchup against Jeff Hardy. He admitted he would “[…] love to step in the ring with someone who is as creative and driven as artistically as he is, I feel like he would always be able to go. Even with Matt, I want to step in the ring with him and just create some art.”

Having won singles gold in AEW, Allin has already set himself another goal for the future: main event an AEW pay-per-view.

“I want to make the TNT Championship one of the most important things in professional wrestling, period. I want to main event a pay-per-view. That’s a big one. So right now the TNT Championship is my biggest concern and then main-eventing a pay-per view.”

Darby Allin teams with Cody Rhodes this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite. The pair face off against Team Taz, represented by Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Sheamus Reflects On Jeff Hardy Feud, Possible Drew McIntyre Rivalry

Raw Superstar Sheamus has reflected on his recent SmackDown feud with Jeff Hardy during a recent interview with SI.com.

Sheamus revealed how his storyline with Hardy “hit so many raw nerves” before calling the personal story one of his all-time favorite feuds.

“That was very, very personal, and it’s one of my favorite feuds in my career. For me, the pandemic has really given me a chance to be who I really am. I’ve never been afraid of cutting to the bone and saying things that put people in an uproar. The match with Jeff at the end, the barroom, that brought out this new shady side of Sheamus.”

Now a member of WWE’s red brand, Sheamus turned his attention to Raw’s roster. In particular, he pointed to the WWE Champion, Drew McIntyre. Regarding a potential match with the champion, Sheamus promised how, if it does happen, McIntyre will quickly remember “how hard I hit.”

Sheamus confessed he isn’t aware of Raw’s landscape since being drafted. However, he has heard rumblings about a feud between himself and McIntyre.

“If it does happen, I feel sorry for Drew. He’s going to remember very, very quickly how hard I hit. I’m worried I’ll hit him so hard that he’ll just turn to dust. He’s my friend, I don’t want to do that to him,” Sheamus said. “He’s been messing around with these American wrestlers for so long, tippy-tappying around the ring, but one shot from me will make him realize how easy he’s had it before I got there.”

Sheamus was recently drafted to Raw as part of the 2020 WWE Draft.

Sami Zayn Wins Intercontinental Title At WWE Clash Of Champions

The battle to find out the true WWE Intercontinental Champion was an impressive spectacle, but it was Sami Zayn who pulled off the win.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles vs. Zayn in a Ladder Match took place at the WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view event.

On paper, fans had high expectations for this contest, and based on feedback on social media, it appears those expectations were met.

Some notable spots included Styles sending Zayn bouncing off a ladder in the corner. Zayn was climbing the ladder, but Styles threw a small ladder at him. Hardy hit a Swanton Bomb off a ladder to Zayn through another ladder. Near the end of the match, Zayn put a handcuff through the earlobe of Hardy and attached it to a ladder. Zayn then handcuffed Styles to a different ladder before getting the titles.

Zayn decided to pull himself from television due to concerns about COVID-19 and WWE later stripped him of the championship and set up a tournament to crown a new champion.

Styles, Daniel Bryan, Drew Gulak, Elias, Hardy, King Corbin, Sheamus, and Shinsuke Nakamura were confirmed as competitors. Eventually, Styles won the tournament finals and became the champion only to drop it to Hardy.

When Zayn returned to TV on the August 28th episode of SmackDown, WWE played it up as Zayn being the real champion.

Jeff Hardy Can’t See Himself As A Trainer Or Agent When He Retires

WWE Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy has revealed he may not transition into a trainer or agent role when he eventually retires from in-ring competition.

Speaking with the Daily Star, Hardy shared how he hopes there will be a “creative place” for him when he decides he can’t wrestle anymore.

“I still don’t feel like I’m a trainer, a coach or a leader. I just feel like somebody who would never really be seen but has these unique ideas that might be cool for a show or a storyline.”

Hardy then revealed the only circumstances that would convince him to become a trainer. He confessed he would embrace the role only if his daughters wanted to become pro wrestlers:

“[…] If my two daughters ever want to wrestle and they’re serious about it, that’s when I’ll get a ring and a building, and get my training boots on. Other than that, I don’t know what it is…”

Jeff Hardy then spoke about how invested he is in his musical career. He shared how he’s been writing a lot and attempting to improve despite being such an “intimidating industry.” He also pointed to his love of art and painting before once again stating how “[…] I don’t think like I’ll ever be a wrestling trainer, an agent, a coach or anything like that.”

Jeff Hardy is set to defend his Intercontinental Championship this Sunday at Clash of Champions. He competes in a Triple Threat Ladder Match against AJ Styles and Sami Zayn.
