Fans can expect the heated verbal feud between The Young Bucks and Jim Cornette to play out inside the squared circle as Cornette has joined Global Force Wrestling.

Global Force Wrestling relaunched its website today and Cornette is listed as a roster member.

In addition, Scott Hall, Takaaki Watanabe, Jeff Jarrett and Karen Jarrett are also listed on the roster.

The feud continued last week with The Young Bucks responding to a Twitter message Cornette had issued.

    https://twitter.com/MattJackson13/status/596721775968329728

Cornette has said that the animosity from the Bucks stemmed from his review of their match at Wrestle Kingdom 9 in January. Following a dust-up on Twitter, he was briefly blocked by the tandem on the social media platform.

“They blocked me on Twitter! They blocked me! I’ve never been so insulted,” Cornette joked on In Your Head Wrestling Radio in January. “No… I’ve been in riots. I’ve had a couple dozen people in my life try to kill and the Young Bucks think they’re going to hurt my feelings because they blocked me on Twitter.”

  • TNA Stars Not Allowed To Work For GFW, Bully Ray/Velvet Sky Update, More

    – While this should come as no surprise, Dixie Carter has reportedly made it clear to TNA talents that she does not want her contracted performers working for Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling (GFW) promotion, even on their “TNA off-days.”

    – Regarding the returns of Bully Ray and Velvet Sky in TNA, it’s said that Sky is back for a regular run, while Bully Ray’s appearance was a one-time only deal for now.

  • Jim Ross On GFW Announcing Rumors, What He’s Heard About GFW TV Taping Schedule

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently spoke with the Baltimore Sun about the rumors that he will be working with Jeff Jarrett’s upstart Global Force Wrestling (GFW) promotion. Below are some highlights from the interview:

On if he’ll ever announce for WWE again and the rumors that he’ll be working with GFW: “WWE, no,” Ross said. “There may be down the road some WWE opportunities, but I don’t think it will be in the broadcasting side. Time will tell on that. If the Global Force thing is there, I enjoyed working with Jeff Jarrett for the New Japan thing in January. I hope that they do great. I think that they can do a real good TV show with the roster they’re putting together. He still has to find a network to air his shows on.”

On fitting GFW commitments into his already busy schedule: “I would be very interested in working with Global Force, it’s just a matter of time obligations and budgets and everything. Everything has to fit schedule-wise. Adding 13 weeks of TV tapings, then going to Nashville and doing voice-overs, all of a sudden it becomes a pretty big project. And I have so many projects already in the pipeline. I just don’t know if we’re going to be able to balance everything to make that happen. I’m not against it, Jeff and I have talked about it.”

On what he has heard about the GFW TV taping schedule: “I just don’t know that I can do it because of the time obligations. I’m a big fan of what they’re doing there. As I understand it, it’s going to be 12 one-hour shows, and then a 13th final episode. I’m a big fan of the one-hour shows. The finale will be a two-hour special. I think that’s a good concept. There’s some real good wrestlers coming in as well. They’d be fun to call.”

  • Jeff Jarrett & Global Force Wrestling Announce “MiLB Grand Slam Tour”

After teasing a “Grand Slam” announcement on social media on Monday, Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling finally revealed what their big announcement is.

GFW issued the following press release today with the details:

Global Force Wrestling brings sizzle to hot summer nights at a ballpark near you

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – You might be able to buy peanuts and Cracker Jacks, and there’s sure to be a crowd. But this will be a whole new ball game.

The historic first Global Force Wrestling show will be held on Friday night, June 12 at The Ballpark at Jackson in Jackson, Tennessee. as part of GFW’s “MiLB Grand Slam Tour.” The tour will feature stops from Florida to California and several points in between.

It’s a grassroots approach building toward the first GFW broadcast event on Friday, July 24 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Minor-league parks operated by both private ownership and municipalities have agreed to play host to Global Force Wrestling shows when their baseball-playing tenants are out of town. It’s an easy win for the parks, which gain another great source for revenue. For GFW it’s a chance to build momentum, show off its roster and deliver on its mission statement to be the most fan interactive brand in sports entertainment.

“These ballparks are the center of attention in the summer in most of these cities, and we’re eager to get out there and mix with our fans and show them what the GFW brand is all about,” said Jeff Jarrett, Global Force Wrestling founder and CEO.

The stars of GFW will be appearing in such cities as Knoxville, Tennessee, Richmond, Virginia, and Clinton, Iowa. Dates for the summer ballpark tour are available on globalforcewrestling.com, and more will be added in the coming weeks.

“Global Force Wrestling presented us with a great plan, one that will be beneficial to us and all ballparks, teams and cities as well as to their burgeoning brand,” said Todd “Parney” Parnell, vice president and chief operating officer of the Richmond (Va.) Flying Squirrels. “We know GFW will generate a lot of interest and excitement, not only the night of the show but for weeks in advance.”

Atlanta Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski is excited about the alliance of his profession and his pastime.

“Wrestling and baseball make a great tag team,” said Pierzynski, a wrestling aficionado. “And I’m thrilled to see so many minor-league parks, some of which I’ve played in, jump on board.”

Global Force Wrestling will roll out its talent roster in the next couple of weeks. It’s a lineup filled with speed and power, righties and lefties, starters and closers, sure to provide thrills at every ballpark.

“She grabbed him in the face and stuck her nails so hard in his jaws, squeezing his mouth she put holes in his skin. She said, ‘If you don’t leave this town, I’ll kill you!’ Teeny became a legend in that situation. And the result was she gained enormous respect from Nick, and Roy and all the wrestlers.”

Additionally, Jeff Jarrett spoke about being in talks with three different networks for GFW, and noted that the promotion will also be offering free online content.

Bandit, a 22-time winner of lighting company of the year, is the worldwide leader in event and concert lighting. Born in the 1960s in Kingsport, Tennessee, Bandit is headquartered in Knoxville and has offices in Nashville, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The company has done all of the lighting for Garth Brooks concerts and specials for years, as well as hundreds of other musical acts including Aerosmith, Queen, Van Halen, Jimmy Buffett, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban. Bandit has lit special events for President Clinton, the NFL and the Make A Wish Foundation, among myriad others.

  • Jeff Jarrett Gives His WrestleMania 31 Predictions, Talks Undertaker/Wyatt, Sting & More

Jeff Jarrett recently spoke with Steven Godfrey of SB Nation to share his thoughts on WrestleMania 31. Jarrett predicted that Big Show is going to win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal and The Usos are going to win the WWE Tag-Team titles in the Kickoff Show four-way tag-team match.

Below are some comments from Jarrett regarding other matches on the card:

On Intercontinental Title Ladder Match: “This is one I’m really looking forward to. I think this event has the best chance to become the show-stealer. I like Dolph Ziggler here, he’ll have the opportunity to shine through with those seven guys. There’s plenty of ammunition and plenty of targets. I think Dolph is ready to rise to the occasion; he’s got a chance here to take that next step. Bryan has to be the obvious favorite, if not the fan favorite. But I like this event because each of these seven guys are distinct enough in ability and persona. That diversity in ingredients is what could make this match really special.”

On John Cena vs. Rusev: “John not having to carry the company on his back through WrestleMania season means he can focus only on this. He gets to leave nothing on the table and exceed expectations. Rusev should bring a couple oxygen tanks to ringside because he’ll be absolutely gassed at the end of this. He’s not on Cena’s level in big money matches, at least not yet.”

On Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker: “For years you could never bet against ‘Taker at ‘Mania, and that went for not only wins and losses, but also match quality. I think this year’s no different. I would’ve bet you and lost last year [vs. Brock Lesnar] but I’d put the farm on Undertaker this year. He’s always exceeded what’s expected of him and Sunday will be no different.”

On Sting vs. Triple H: “From an emotional standpoint I’m invested in this match more than any other, having such a long history with Sting. I’ve watched his career from the Clash of Champions to the Starrcades to big matches in TNA, but at this stage of his career … For Sting to arrive at the biggest match of his career north of 50 years old is a testament to the man they call ‘Sting.’ I’m excited he’s got this opportunity and I wish him nothing but the best. But: If you’ve ever watched one of Triple H’s WrestleMania matches, Sting has to realize he’s not walking into a traditional wrestling match. He’ll feel the effects of this weeks, if not months to come.”

On Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar: “With the ESPN announcement and Dana White’s comments I believe the proverbial gas has been poured on the fire. There’s a lot of moving parts here: Roman Reigns is very fresh to this dance as a singles wrestler. I would say that he’s got the deck stacked against him in numerous ways. We’ll talk more about that on Sunday, but I’ve also got a funny feeling that Roman comes out of this match as the winner in more ways than a ‘1, 2, 3.’”

  • Jim Ross Blog: Potential Bill DeMott Lawsuits, Global Force TV Deal & More

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog update, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR said about:

Projects He’s Working On: “We had some productive meetings in LA the past couple of days and my itch to get back into some form of play by play needs scratching. Boxing and MMA folks are speaking with us and where that goes is anyone’s guess but I’m told that it looks positive multiple fronts.”

Potential Lawsuits Over Bill DeMott: “Contingency attorneys must be licking their chops on the thought of expected litigation on the allegations directed to the Bill DeMott matter. If I were them I might not spend that money just yet. ”

NXT: “Smart move by WWE to tour outside their home base of Florida as it helps the talents in a multitude of ways. Poor travelers don’t make great roster members in my view. Plus, by booking some experienced talents with the younger ones the ‘rookies’ will improve exponentially faster. Fact: rookies cannot improve as needed working only with other rookies.”

Global Force Wrestling: “Getting lots of questions about what’s next for Global Force Wrestling and I expect Jeff Jarrett to address this matter after WrestleMania. However if he does to a series of TV tapings I do think that doing them in Las Vegas is a splendid idea. Begs the question, if Jeff actually is planning on taping TV, could a network deal be too far behind? Yes, Jeff and I are talking but there is no “deal” on the table at this time.”

  • Jeff Jarrett Having Trouble Securing TV Deal For GFW, Details On A Concept He Has Tried Pitching

Jeff Jarrett has been having issues finding a paid television deal for a weekly show for his upstart Global Force Wrestling (GFW) promotion.

According to television industry sources, Jarrett has proposed a concept for a show to at least one network, which is said to be a channel without full national clearance, and likely some additional networks, however he hasn’t been able to secure a deal for whatever that concept is.

Jarrett’s current idea is to do a test-run live show that would feature wrestlers from the independent scene, AAA and New Japan Pro Wrestling all working under the GFW banner.

It’s been speculated that Jarrett will be making some kind of announcement regarding GFW’s future later this month. In fact, at one point it was reported that Jarrett would be announcing a GFW television taping in Las Vegas in the near future, as he has been in negotiations with an arena in Las Vegas that would be the official home for GFW.

  • Jeff Jarrett On Who He’d Like To Build GFW Around, His Favorite NXT Star & More

Jeff Jarrett recently spoke with Nerds of Evolution Radio about the latest going on with his new Global Force Wrestling promotion. Below are highlights from the interview.

On what the latest status of GFW is: “Well, obviously we just wrapped and the end of January, basically a month long promotion. WrestleKingdom 9 obviously happened on January 4th and in today’s world of Ondemand viewing, Direct Tv, on Demand and scheduled replays, so we really just wrapped (promoting) that. And there was a lot of tying up loose ends business wise, not a lot of fun stuff, boring stuff, but stuff that had to be done. That sort of came to an end at the end of January, but during that time I’ve been working on everything that, in my opinion, if you’re interested in and curious about Global Force Wrestling, I’ve been working many long hours about the things you’re asking about. I’ve been having multiple discussions with talent, I’ve got several opportunities with sponsorships that have literally developed in the last 14 days. Talking to different venues, live event plans, it’s coming together. More international companies have discussed with me about bringing their product to the North American market via ppv. I’m just not quiet ready to release details but I am- I can tell you this, I am very excited. I’ll call it – I hate to put timelines because you miss them, and Murphy’s Law takes effect and that’s how it always is, but you know I think by WrestleMania season, by the end of the season there’s going to be some very exciting announcements about Global Force Wrestling.”

On whether or not GFW will produce a AAA PPV and if they’ll work with Lucha Underground: “That stuff I’d like to not discuss but what I can tell you is discussions are going on with AAA in Mexico. They (L-U/AAA) are really two separate entities, although the Roldan family is owners in both of them. They (L-U) have different partners in the states. Great group of folks, from Mark Burnett, all the way down. But it really is a different entity. I haven’t had any discussions with that group (L-U). But I continue with my 10 or 15 year relationship with AAA down in Mexico.”

On how difficult it is to go from TNA and start a new company all over again: “It’s so exciting. It’s, for lack of a better term, really refreshing. I said this on my media rounds heading into Wrestle Kingdom 9, I haven’t been this excited about the wrestling business in a long-long time, and it really really excites me. I think the timing is right for a number of reasons (next wrestling boom), at the very top of that list is the talent pool that’s out there. It’s red hot, the free agent market is as healthy as it’s ever been. Obviously the New Japan organization is top notch, and now they’re working with (pro wrestling) NOAH; well they’ve been working with NOAH but now they’re taking it to a whole other level. The wrestling business is really fun to be in right now in my opinion.”

On if the ‘Bullet Club’ will be part of GFW: “My quick answer to that is: ‘Stay tuned.’”

On which “inactive” wrestler he would like to build GFW around: “In my opinion this is a no brainer. When you have a guy that is 3rd generation, knows the business inside and out and comes up and becomes the hottest box office attraction in the world; The Rock. I mean he’s on a completely different level. He’s a movie star, a great athlete and a great wrestler. I think you’d have to absolutely start with him. Then you go back a couple generations and look at the great wrestlers like Buddy Rodgers, Jerry Lawler…The Von Erichs; but you’d have to go Rock. Then you know, Hulk Hogan. His record speaks for itself. He had Hulkamania and then was right back on top 15 years later with the nWo.”

On why he feels we’re near a next great boom period for wrestling: “I can’t put my finger on the main reason. I think there’s a bunch of contributing factors. I think the Rock-effect, when you had a guy come on the scene like that during the attitude era, Rock and Stone Cold, the Monday Night Wars. The kids that were 10,12, 14 years old who were watching it, are now 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 years old and these guys have all been wrestling 4,5, 6 years. There was such an enormous exposure to the mainstream. Everybody was watching wrestling and now we’re seeing some residual payoff of that. I also think that the wrestling fanbases that have popped up, ROH has been around as long as TNA has and they have their fans. …You have t.v. being produced in South Africa, in India, small promotions you guys have probably never heard of are being produced. Just all around the globe, wrestling as content is being produced and I think when you have that, a lot of wrestlers having a lot of matches, and the cream, slowly but surely, rises to the top and I think NXT is the best example of that today. Kevin Steen is a 12 year pro and he’s just now stepping onto the scene. I think all those contributing factors are to me, what are the biggest. But the proof is in the pudding. You got RAW, Smackdown, NXT, all under the WWE umbrella, you referenced Lucha Underground earlier, you got AAA in Mexico, you got TNA, you got ROH (New Japan, New Japan World, it) and that’s just a few who are producing content.”

On who his favorite NXT star is to watch: “Steen (Kevin Owens) He’s very good. There’s a bunch of other ones, but I’m excited him because of the road he’s traveled all these years. When he hits the main roster he’s going to shake things up.”

Additionally, there has been talk of doing another pay-per-view with New Japan Pro Wrestling in the spring, as well as talk of bringing AAA to pay-per-view in the United States.

  • Jeff Jarrett Talks Plans For GFW, CM Punk’s History In TNA, His Controversial WWE Exit

GFW founder Jeff Jarrett recently spoke with the v2 Wrestling Podcast about a number of topics, including plans for his new promotion and more.

Below are highlights from the interview:

On whether GFW will be a standalone promotion: “The short answer is yes. I have been working with the team on what wrestling fans are calling a standalone promotion. Multiple conversations with talent, distributors, sponsorships, venues, legal, finance, everything that goes with launching the brand. I don’t want to get too overinflated and say major announcements, but I’ll call them very exciting announcements around WrestleMania and then the weeks to come after that. So in the next 4-6 weeks, the first announcement will be coming.”

On his relationship with CM Punk in TNA: “He did work with us for a little while, yes. It was in the Asylum days when I was wearing 5, 6, 7 hats every Wednesday night. We had a very business-like, cordial relationship. To say that I missed the boat would be an understatement of the year, but things like that happen. My father started two guys from California that drove cross country and the first time I laid eyes on them was Thanksgiving 1985. Very young and very green, they were called the Blade Runners and within 18 months after they left my father’s promotion they became Sting in WCW and the Ultimate Warrior in the WWF. So promoters miss the boat and there is a long track record of that, but Punk seized his opportunity when he got to WWE. Quite frankly, he goozled that entire promotion and left on his own terms. To this day he’s still one of the hottest box office attractions in professional wrestling, and he’s not even doing it any more.”

On whether there will be a place for Vince Russo in GFW: “We enjoyed our years together but no, not at this time.”

On his controversial departure from the WWF in 1999: “At the end of the day, I showed up to work that night in Cleveland, and (Vince McMahon) had two options, I had two options, and we both took Option A. We agreed on a price, and the rest is history. I have spoken with Vince McMahon several times since that day”.

On whether he will remain an active wrestler: “No, my full-time days in the ring are over. Not to say I’m not going to put on the tights again, and quite frankly, in the last two weeks I don’t know what it is but I’ve gotten several offers from promoters in Canada, the Carolinas and California, so like I did last year, I’ll probably have a few shows here and there. But my main focus is Global Force Wrestling and launching that brand as a standalone promotion.”

On his role in GFW: “I like to refer to (my role) as somewhat of a matchmaker. In the old days they called it a booker, but a booker is really a matchmaker and let the fans decide. The talent, it’s not like you want to slap on and say this week you’re the Gobbledy Gooker and next week you’re Skinner. It’s who is Talent A and why are they Talent A, what’s to like or not like about Talent A. You put them against Talent B, who they are and why they are, and they go out there and get it done in the ring. I think that’s a recipe for success in professional wrestling.”

On GFW’s style compared to other promotions: “It’ll have its own style, but I don’t believe in recreating the wheel. I think Wrestle Kingdom 9 proved it, and Jim Ross said it in some of the videos that we produced on him, wrestling fans don’t over-think it. Give the fans what they want. Great wrestlers, hard-hitting style, championships, winners, losers and larger than life personalities – that’s what we plan on doing. I’ve always had that philosophy, dating back to my early days in the territories and my father’s and grandmother’s promotion. You have good wrestlers, and whether it’s black hats and white hats or however you want to define it, the people have to know and understand that Wrestler A is fighting Wrestler B and why they’re fighting, what are the results on who wins and who loses, and what’s going to happen next. I don’t think you need to overthink that in any stretch of the imagination. I think there are instances, from NXT to Wrestle Kingdom 9 to Triplemania, the successful wrestling shows going on in the world today are, at its core, basic and simplistic.”

  • Jeff Jarrett, GFW No Longer Restricted From Negotiating With Spike TV

For whatever this is worth, there is no longer a restriction on Jeff Jarrett and/or Global Force Wrestling negotiating with Spike TV.

When Jarrett first left TNA, when the promotion was still with Viacom, part of his release stated that he could not negotiate with a network that TNA was on. Now that TNA is on Destination America, Jarrett is free to attempt to negotiate with Spike TV if he chooses to.

  • Jeff Jarrett Talks About Plans For The Official Launch Of Global Force Wrestling

Global Force Wrestling founder Jeff Jarrett recently spoke to Brian Fritz of SportingNews.com about the rollout of his new promotion.

Below is an excerpt from the interview.

“It’s live event programming or it can be live event programming and in today’s world that’s very important. Global Force is doing the rollout and we’re strategically looking at the distribution models because brand awareness is everything and the wrestling business is very healthy and Global Force is ready to do the rollout in 2015.

Timing is everything but brand awareness is at the very top. You have to very strategically roll out. In business, the bottom line is all that really matters. So when you put the pieces together of talent, of live event shows, of sponsorships, of distribution, legal and finance go with all of that but brand awareness sits on top of all of that. First impression is a last impression, so I think to roll it out strategically, you got to do it the right way. Patience is not in my DNA but thus far I’ve had some good patience and I’m taking it step by step.”
