TNA Personality Denies Writing Harsh Message To Fan

A fan from the United Kingdom is claiming that TNA Wrestling personality Jeremy Borash sent a harsh private message to him yesterday on Twitter after responding to a public tweet he sent out.

Hyping a TNA Wrestling promotional event in the UK, Borash wrote yesterday morning, “United Kingdom TNA fans … HUGE news coming in the next 24hrs. Stay tuned.”

The fan, Ian Gregory, replied minutes later, “hope your put the UK fans out of their misery and take this **** off the air over here @TNADixie.”

Approximately an hour later, Gregory received a private message from Borash’s account that read “I hope your whole family dies.”

The message upset Gregory because his parents are already dead.

A video was posted on YouTube to prove that it is not a Photoshop job:

Borash addressed the situation this morning on Twitter, denying the accusations.

“For the record, the many of you that know me online know I would never wish harm on anyone or anyone’s family,” he wrote. “Twitter has been contacted.”

Independent women’s wrestler Lizzy Valentine (who has worked for TNA in the past), a friend of Gregory, doesn’t believe Borash. She relayed his accusations on her Facebook and Twitter accounts and said he wouldn’t lie.

“No he’s not a liar, he’s one of my best buds!” she wrote. “Borash denying it isn’t proof of anything.”

Mickie James Discusses Joining TNA, Being Single, Her Music

Recap of Mickie James & Jeremy Borash on Monsters in the Morning
By John Canton of thejohnreport.net TheJohnReport.net and MickieJames.com.

TNA’s Mickie James and Jeremy Borash were on the Monsters in the Morning show in Orlando (XM 152).

– She talked about this being her first country album, Strangers & Angels. The hosts asked her how we can get more people into country music. She said there’s a misconception about the music and now it can be a little bit of southern rock with pop too, so people should be open to the crossover that’s there. The hosts talked about how that Country Strong movie did poorly at the theatres in its opening weekend because some people get turned off by country music.

– They asked about celebrities in TNA. Borash mentioned that Toby Keith shows up once in a while and Snoop Dogg has showed up. They talked about J-Woww from Jersey Shore showing up saying they got exposure on TMZ with it. Then the hosts talked about J-Woww’s features, but Jeremy quickly moved off topic.

– They asked Mickie how the other girls treated her. Mickie said they welcomed her with open arms. They all realize that the bigger names that people have, the better it is for the company in terms of exposure.

– Mickie said that there’s a mix in the company from TNA originals, to former WWE people and wrestlers from all over the world, which makes it a cool place to work in.

– Borash talked about how he and other TNA wrestlers like Jeff Hardy & Beer Money went to Japan last week and how it helps the exposure of the company.

– They plugged Impact tapings for the next two nights at Universal in Orlando starting at around 5:30pm with free entry as always. Borash mentioned the Hardy brothers being together at the tapings last night. Mickie mentions they don’t really know what they will do on the day of the taping until you get to the building.

– The hosts asked Mickie if she’s single. She said yes. Madison Rayne said on the show yesterday she doesn’t date wrestlers and Mickie mentioned that you’re around many wrestlers all the time, so sometimes stuff happens, but she’s been single for a couple of years because she’s so busy. Borash mentioned a lot of the guys on the roster have crushes on Mickie.

– Mickie plugs the TNA theme song “Hardcore Country.” She mentions the song “Don’t Apologize” from her Strangers & Angels CD being her favorite. Then she talks about “Are You With Me?” being her first single and “Hollywood Movie Moment” being another favorite on the album. Then they started playing “Are You With Me?” She mentioned Tim McGraw being a favorite artist. She mentioned the
songs will be on iTunes again soon. (I should also note the whole CD will be available again on mickiejames.com very soon.)

– The hosts plugged the Impact tapings one more time and mentioned their close association with the the TNA brand.

The segment lasted about 15 minutes.

John Cena, J.R. & Others React To Kaval’s Release From WWE

Below are various Twitter reactions to Kaval’s release from World Wrestling Entertainment today:

Jeremy Borash: “Very grateful to be working for a company that gives out bonus checks at Christmas instead of walking papers.”

Shelton Benjamin: “I guess my question is would you rather see him as a jobber for Wwe or the Indy phenom that he had been.”

Gregory Helms: “U gotta be f***ing kidding!!!”

TNA Seeking New Ring Announcer – Lilian Garcia To Follow?

In light of ring announcer David Penzer’s departure from TNA Wrestling last week, Jeremy Borash is now being used as the company’s full-time ring announcer. However, the move may not be permanent as TNA officials are reportedly seeking talent outside the organization to assume the role.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, TNA officials have displayed interest in acquiring veteran ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta, whose career dates back to the 1970s. While he has worked for Ring of Honor in recent years, he hasn’t worked full-time in the industry since leaving World Championship Wrestling more than a decade ago. Currently, he is a Spanish teacher at Christian Brothers Academy in New Jersey.

There is also an unconfirmed report circulating online indicating TNA officials have contemplated asking former WWE songstress Lilian Garcia about joining the organization. While the former WWE Diva has yet to publicly acknowledge TNA, she’s very much aware of the Orlando-based wrestling promotion. The former ring announcer of Monday Night Raw has privately told friends she considers herself very loyal to WWE and thus she could never see herself working for TNA. Though she loved her job with WWE, she cited the taxing road schedule as her main reason for departing the company last year. Recently, Garcia moved out west to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment field, so a return to professional wrestling appears highly unlikely at this point.

Borash Talks TNA Roster Cuts, iMPACT! Leaving Monday Nights

TNA announcer Jeremy Borash was a guest on the “Right After Wrestling” radio show last night and spoke in-depth about TNA iMPACT! leaving Monday nights and returning to Thursdays.

“I think it’s definitely a different era. It would have been nice to re-capture the competitive spirit of being on Monday nights, but at the end of the day, it was just more of an inconvenience. Perhaps being back on Thursday nights, we can prosper and thrive.  At the same time, I would have liked to have stuck it out a little bit longer on Mondays, especially at a point where there were very exciting programs that we did produce.” He added, “There are a lot of things about the Monday Night Wars that we could have taken part in and really brought some popularity to the idea of it again.”

Borash was also asked about the online reports that TNA will be letting go 15-20 superstars in coming weeks in order to save money.

“I don’t know if you look at it as roster cuts. You don’t say anything or we don’t hear anything about when we spend more money to hire people. When you say ‘roster cuts,’ it obviously invokes an ‘oooh’ kind of feeling to it,” Borash said. “At the same time, we have 60-something people under contract, so I think it’s a natural evolution of business. Sometimes you do have to trim the fat. The programs are being written differently where less people are being featured more prominently.”

Borash also spoke also responded to criticism that “Total Nonstop Action Wrestling” and “TNA” are terrible names for a wrestling promotion. Many have pointed out that the name is grammatically awkward and the letters “TNA” conjure up images of what the acronym is most commonly known for – “tits and ass.”

“We have years of promotion invested in it and it’s definitely something, you know – what it is, Total Nonstop Action – they are three easy-to-remember letters. Whether you like it or you don’t like it, it’s stuck around and it’s definitely made us three easy letters to remember.”

TNA To Release Knockouts?, Bound for Glory Update, Borash

— As reported yesterday, TNA officials have advised company president Dixie Carter to release 15 to 20 names in an extensive cost-cutting measure. Carter is against cutting anyone since she doesn’t want talent who have been loyal to the organization be unemployed in these uncertain economic times. Nonetheless, it is expected that cuts will be made.

In regard to any Knockouts being cut, the majority of the company’s female performers are said to be safe for the time being. Though it should be noted that TNA came close to releasing one Knockout recently but was saved because there is a shortage on available female talent due to the injuries suffered by Angelina Love and Daffney, as well as the departure of Tara. TNA brought back Roxxi at this week’s television tapings to help fill the void.

— Jeremy Borash is getting less face time on iMPACT! these days due in part to the increased usage of the documentary style camera, which has been dubbed the “Hervey-Cam.” As a result of David Penzer’s departure from the organization this past, Borash now handles ring announcing duties, though it may only be temporary as they’re said to be searching for a replacement with past experience.

— There is talk of holding Bound for Glory in Texas this October, but nothing is official yet.
