WWE is looking to create a retro vibe for the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend and their efforts include bringing in a number of legends for the show.
The company previously confirmed that legendary wrestler and broadcast personality Jesse Ventura will be returning to commentary for the upcoming event.
Now PWInsider is reporting that the former Minnesota governor is not the only big name booked for the night. According to them, names such as Ted Dibiase, Jimmy Hart, Tito Santana, Greg Valentine, and Koko B. Ware will also be in attendance at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The inclusion of legendary names is a tradition the company has re-established in recent times. Many WWE veterans attended the recent SmackDown 25th anniversary special while a number of hardcore legends were brought in when NXT emanated from the 2300 Arena.
The upcoming show is not only expected to feature talents from the past but Triple H and Cody Rhodes have also teased bringing back a classic title belt for one night only during the show.
The return of Saturday Night’s Main Event will be headlined by Cody defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against former friend Kevin Owens. You can check out our predictions for the show here.
With WWE 2K24 around the corner, excitement for the new game is at a fever pitch, with top stars like Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins all confirmed.
While these three will have some of the highest ratings in the game, not everyone can have great stats, and there’ll always be somebody with the outright worst ranking in the game. In this feature, we look at some of the worst-ranked playable characters in WWE video games.
Eric Bischoff – 52 – SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain
Perhaps it was a battle for brand supremacy that led to then-Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff having the lowest ranking in SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain. Bischoff’s martial arts prowess and all-black gi helped little whenever you played as him in the game.
Ribbie – 60 – WWE 2K20
WWE 2K20 was a disaster of a game but it did give fans their first-ever playable anthropomorphic rack of ribs. Ribbie is the mascot of the Memphis Sliders, a minor baseball team, according to Byron Saxton, and with his BBQ sauce haircut, we imagine wrestlers weren’t eager to face him.
Curt Hawkins – 64 – WWE 2K19
The master of the losing streak, Curt Hawkins’ unfortunate record was replicated with his woeful score in WWE 2K19. Nowadays, Hawkins is faring much better in TNA Wrestling as Brian Myers.
Jimmy Hart – 67 – SmackDown Vs. Raw 2008
It makes sense that the Mouth of the South’s rating would be so low, given he very rarely wrestled. This ranking shows that in SVR ’08, Jimmy was best being kept at ringside.
Bo Dallas – 67- WWE 2K17
All the Bo-lieving in the world couldn’t save Bo Dallas from this dreadful score in WWE 2K17. Good luck winning any titles as the third-generation wrestler! His brother Bray would be well ahead of Bo in the game with a score of 87.
Sawyer Fulton – 69 – WWE 2K18
The forgotten member of Sanity, Sawyer Fulton’s 69 is the worst in the entire WWE 2K18 game. What makes this worse is that this would mark Fulton’s first and only time in a video game.
Eric Bischoff (again) – 69 – WWE 2K22
Things clearly picked up for Easy-E between Here Comes The Pain and WWE 2K22, but that wasn’t enough to save him from having the worst rating once again. Sorry Eric!
Michael Cole & Jim Ross – 71 – WWE ’12
These WWE commentators shared the same woeful rating in WWE ’12, so it’s only fair we lump them together. Frankly though, why anyone would play as either man, especially Cole, is anyone’s guess.
The 2024 WWE Royal Rumble is almost here, and fans have been speculating who could be making an appearance. Typically, with the annual event, WWE showcases wrestlers from the past and present to compete in a Royal Rumble match. Although it is unclear who will be a surprise entrant this year, it has led to people throwing out names they’d like to see involved, including Hulk Hogan.
During the interview, Rosenberg asked Hart if Hogan could compete in the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble Match with his current health. Rosenberg noted that Hogan is not in shape to have a match but wondered about his willingness to be protected and thrown over the ropes safely in the match.
Hulk Hogan Posing At Gym
“The Mouth Of The South” shared that he believes Hogan could still compete.
“…For some reason, even when we are at the Beach Shop here, and these matches come on, the matches he used to be in, all of a sudden it’s like he’s Popeye The Sailor Man,” said Hart.
He continued, “…He Hulks up, and all of a sudden, I think he could do whatever he wants to do, but I’m telling you what, he could still throw those punches. He could also use a chair if he had to, but I think the fans wouldn’t really care. They would love to have him there, but they wouldn’t care if he could throw a punch or if he couldn’t just to be in the building with Hulkamania and do that; they would be so thrilled for him.”
Jimmy Hart On Hulk Hogan’s Current Health & Status
Although Hart believes Hogan could work the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble Match, the chances seem slim. The former WWE Champion has a history of health issues, which would make the decision difficult for WWE to allow him to compete.
That said, Hart shared that Hogan is in great shape and in a good place.
“…Hulk and I talk about every couple of days, and I’m always concerned about his health, but right now, he’s doing phenomenal and he works out religiously. Twice a day, believe this or not, twice a day, and if you looked at him, you wouldn’t think anything is wrong with him. He looks just how he used to look,” said Hart.
“The Mouth Of The South” also noted that Hogan is enjoying what WWE is doing and looks forward to doing something with the company again.
“…He loves the talent. He watches Roman Reigns. He watches Seth(Rollins). He loves Cody(Rhodes). He thinks that what Triple H is doing up there is phenomenal, and like I said, whenever they call us to do something, we are always there,” said Hart.
“The Mouth Of The South” Jimmy Hart has run into some issues with Twitter after a fake account claimed that he would be in attendance at a “klan rally.”
“there is a twitter account (claiming to be me) that states I will be attending a klan rally – that is not that case,” Hart declared, before stating, “I will not be at a klan rally.”
He also reached out to Twitter’s official account, @verified, which determines which accounts will receive a ‘Blue Tick.’ That tick acts as a visual indicator that confirms that the actual celebrity/personality owns that Twitter account.
there is a twitter account (claiming to be me) that states I will be attending a klan rally – this is not the case – I will not be attending a klan rally – @verified – Twitter, please verify my account so this does not happen in the future
Without that Blue Tick, it’s far too easy for fake accounts to trick fans into following them and the lies they might spread.
Many superstars have had issues with fake accounts trolling fans, interacting with their fanbase whilst posing as the celebrities they are impersonating.
In the case of Jimmy Hart, however, the best thing he could have done is reach out the way he has done. It not only directly highlights the fact he won’t be attending this rally but also that some public personalities could do with the verification, if only so their fans won’t be left confused over potential poser activity that could ruin a person’s reputation.

WWE Hall Of Famer Jimmy Hart is one of the most legendary managers in the history of professional wrestling. Hart has managed the likes of Hulk Hogan, The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, Jerry The King Lawler, Bret Hart, and many more. In a recent interview with WWE, Hart discussed which current Superstar he’d be interesting in managing.
Hart divulged that he’d love to work with Elias if given the opportunity. Here’s what he had to say:
“You know what? All of them are great but I like Elias. He plays guitar and me being from Memphis or course and look what I did for the Honky Tonk Man so Elias this is for you. Dick Clark told me something … he said if you dress like the audience then you’re gonna wind up sitting in the audience.
“We gotta get you out of those blue jeans and out of those patent leather brown or black boots that you wear and that t-shirt. We gotta get you down to Memphis. Let me take you to Graceland, baby.”
WWE announced today that Jimmy Hart will induct Hillbilly Jim into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6th. Hillbilly Jim will be inducted alongside Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz, Ivory, Jeff Jarrett, Mark Henry, Kid Rock and Warrior Award recipient Jarrius “JJ” Robertson.
Hart said the following at the Andre the Giant documentary premiere about inducting Hillbilly Jim into the WWE Hall of Fame:
“I am so excited about doing that. First of all, I am excited about being at WrestleMania. It is a such a big thrill for me because a lot of people don’t know that Howard Finkel saw my Memphis tapes, called Hillbilly Jim and he called me to go to the first WrestleMania in New York. So that is how I really got signed up by the WWE”.
On his experiences with Hillbilly Jim:
“Well, he was my roommate on Legends’ House of course. We go back a long way, almost 34 years, can you believe that? We’ve played music together, we laughed and we cried together in the Legends’ House. I am so excited about this”.
WWE Hall Of Famer Jimmy Hart recently did an interview with Cerrito & 5 Starr to discuss Hulk Hogan, his upcoming endeavors and if we’ll ever see the Hulkster back on WWE television. Here are the highlights of what Jimmy Hart said about:
What Hogan has been up to:
“Well first of all The Hulkster has been great, we were in LA a couple of weeks ago for a couple of shows. Then we went to San Francisco for a couple of shows and a business meeting. I went to Las Vegas Cauliflower Alley for the WWE of course, but Hulk is doing great. He has his Clearwater beach shop doing phenomenal down in Clearwater Beach, and he just opened a brand new one he’s been working on for two years. We finally got the okay and the building done, fixed it up unbelievable right at WrestleMania time. It’s doing great up in Orlando right now.
“But we’ve got a couple of great projects that Hulk has been working on that we’re gonna let the whole world know about in a couple of months. One of them might be an overseas major tour with some of the Superstars. You see how The Rock does those big bus tours? We’re gonna grab one of those big buses over there and hit five or six cities during a week, come back home for a month, go back – maybe Australia, maybe Germany, maybe England, and kind of do that. So many of the fans have asked Hulkster to come back over there, but we’ve never really done a Q&A, we’ve never really done autographs, we’ve never done a ton of merchandise over there. So we’re in the process of working some things out. There’s a lot of great things happening with The Hulkster.”
If Hulk will ever return to WWE:
“You never say never on anything. I know there has been a lot of people I thought would never ever return to the WWE, but for some reason – It’s like Triple H always says ‘We’re gonna do what’s best for business.’ You never know what might happen but I know Hulk still loves the WWE and everyone up there, like me too, and I’m grateful to still be doing stuff with them and doing stuff with the Hulkster.”

On the next edition of MSL & Sullivan, the weekly podcast on MLWRadio.com, former WCW booker Kevin Sullivan brought up a previously unknown wrinkle to the complicated relationship that Hulk Hogan had with the company. In a passage sent out in advance (the episode goes up tomorrow, October 23rd), Sullivan is quoted as saying the following about legendary manager Jimmy Hart:
Besides him getting a payday from WCW, he was getting paid by Hulk. So I was inclined to use Jimmy because of the creative control. He wasn’t getting a percentage. He was getting a flat fee. Every January 1st or 2nd he got a check written to him. Six figures.
When co-host Mister Saint Laurent asked why Hogan put so much faith in Hart, Sullivan explained their relationship:
Out of all the people Hulk had, he felt more secure with Jimmy because Jimmy had no vices. I think it happened in Memphis when Hulk first got there. Jimmy probably got him rides and he would ride with Hulk. When you finished Memphis, you had to go to Louisville, which was a brutal ride. 380 or 400 miles. He would get him a ride. He knew the places, this was the deep south, this was Kentucky Fried Chicken, Jimmy would talk the guy into grilling Hulk a dozen chicken breasts. That kind of thing. I think it started from there.
– WWE broadcast member Renee Young noted on social media that one of her upcoming guests on her “Unfiltered” show on the WWE Network will be “King” Bad News Barrett. As noted, Young’s guest on Monday’s edition of the WWE Network show will be Wiz Khalifa.

– Jim Ross touched on the build to this year’s WrestleMania and the fan reaction to the push of Roman Reigns in his latest website blog. Below is an excerpt where JR comments on these two subjects.
“For those looking at the build to this WrestleMania as being not to their personal liking because of not enough hype and a lack of momentum in their eyes, I equate it to the Super Bowl. This year in the Super Bowl I did not have a horse in the race so I did not have an emotional investment to a high degree but I still watched the game with interest simply because I’m a NFL fan and it was, after all, the Super Bowl. Could that analogy apply to WrestleMania as it currently stands? I’m not jacked to the max today about WM31 but I promise you that I will be come that weekend and wouldn’t miss watching the show on the WWE Network for anything. Why? Because I’m still a true, wrestling fan. Let the show happen and then judge it as you choose.”
“Continue to get feedback from fans on Twitter or here at our Q&A’s that Roman Reigns “isn’t ready.” How many of you think that JYD was “ready” when Bill Watts made him the top star in Mid South Wrestling back in the day? Simply ask some of Dog’s opponents. But Dog had much of what many feel that Roman Reigns does. “Charisma” and a marketable look. Time will tell on that one but I say put Roman in the game and let’s see what’s in his heart when he knows he’s being relied on to pull the wagon. I’d enjoy seeing Reigns and Heyman put the screws to Brock this Monday in Pittsburgh on RAW whereby Lesnar goes into the main event at WM31 as a fan favorite defending his title against a stacked deck w/ Heyman ‘making’ a couple of villains by enlisting their help as “backup.” Just an idea much like Fantasy Football from my friends a @DraftKings.”
On Friday night, WWE held a “Hulk Hogan Appreciation Night” at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
