Joey Janela Pulled From AEW Dynamite Due To COVID-19 Concerns

Joey Janela was scheduled to work this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, but was pulled at the last minute.

About an hour before the show went live on TNT, All Elite Wrestling announced in a post on social media that Janela had been removed from his scheduled bout against Kenny Omega due to COVID-19 concerns.

AEW issued the following statement on the situation:

“AEW and Joey Janela learned today that he had exposure to a known COVID-19 positive person at an independent show. For that reason we are pulling him until such time as he is cleared to return consistent with our protocols.”

This bout was part of several planned matches as part of the World Title Eliminator tournament. AEW later announced that Janela would be replaced by Sony Kiss in this contest.

Penta El Zero M vs. Rey Fenix, Colt Cabana vs. Hangman Page, and Wardlow vs. Jungle Boy were also part of the first round matches on this show.

The news comes after Janela faced AJ Gray at Game Changer Wrestling’s The Last Resort show in Silverado, California this past Saturday.

Also on Wednesday, Gray announced that he tested positive for COVID-19. Gray wrote that his positive COVID-19 test was taken on Monday.

Ethan Page & Joey Janela In Spat Over GCW Trading Cards

Ethan Page noted on Twitter today that he is pulling out of Joey Janela’s Spring Break event this year. He said that his reason for doing so is a series of trading cards produced by Janela’s Game Changer Wrestling featuring his likeness. Page says he did not give GCW permission to use his likeness and has not been compensated for the cards.

Here is what Page wrote on Twitter regarding the matter:

Ethan Page Free Agency 2021

Page was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated about his pending free agency.

“I’m looking to convince Impact Wrestling to sign me to a new house,” he said. “I’m tired of stepping on toys in my living room. My kid needs a playroom in a new house, so I’m trying to change my home life through my professional life.”

He also noted that Impact is allowing him to negotiate with other companies.

“Impact has been amazing. They’re allowing me the opportunity to chat with other companies, and they’re handling this in an extremely professional manner. I’m open to chatting with other people, but my interest is hearing how Impact values me and what they’re willing to offer.”

Joey Janela On How Match With Kenny Omega Came To Be

Joey Janela had a match with Kenny Omega on AEW Dark which received positive reception from fans. The match took place on the 10/15 episode of Dark and while Omega came out the victor, Janela still received a lot of praise for his performance. He would then have another match with Omega but this time on Dynamite’s 4th episode. This match got a great response from fans and is considered one of the best early AEW matches.

Janela talked about this match while appearing for an interview with The Wrestling Inc Daily, where he spoke about the match with Omega on Dynamite and revealed how important it is to him.

Janela said that the match was a big deal for him and that it was almost not going to take place.

“It was great. I just wanted to show everyone that I could go. That match almost didn’t happen so for them to let it happen was a big deal for me. Some of my friends from home came up to watch it so maybe my career peaked at that point. “ joked Janela.

Janela also revealed that the match was originally supposed to be against Jack Evans instead of Kenny Omega.

“Where the segment was – me and Jack Evans never wrestled on TV. That would have been his and my TV debut and they didn’t want to put us out there cold. I said, ‘Well, you advertised the match already.’ They said, ‘We’re just gonna put Jack in there with Kenny.’ I was depressed as I was just coming off the big match with Kenny the week before. I felt like things were going right and I really wanted to have that match with Jack Evans on TV. 15 years in the making – I needed that moment,” said Janela.

Janela added that Tony informed him about Jack wrestling with Omega, which got him really upset. But the match was changed later with Janela facing Omega and that’s how it came to be.

Joey Janela On Working With Kip Sabian & Penelope Ford

All Elite Wrestling’s Joey Janela has opened up about working a storyline with Kip Sabian and his ex-girlfriend Penelope Ford. Speaking with Wrestling Inc. Daily, “The Bad Boy” shared how he doesn’t feel uncomfortable working the feud with the new couple.

“Not really at all. I’ve been in the wrestling business for 15 years now so nothing’s really weird or uncomfortable,” Janela stated. “I’ve seen it all and heard it all. I’m trying to find my footing and they are as well. Who knows how all of this will turn out after this is all said and done.”

When it comes to his in-ring work with Sabian, Janela noted how he isn’t surprised at how well they’ve been working together. He highlighted how they are “polar opposites” and that, despite some doubts, he’s happy with how the feud has been going to date.

Joey Janela Wrestling On Dark, Not Revolution

The two recently clashed in a Falls Count Anywhere matchup. This match will be aired on this week’s episode of AEW Dark via the promotion’s YouTube channel. But would Janela have preferred for this matchup to have taken place at AEW’s upcoming pay-per-view, Revolution?

“Of course. Of course. That’s what we thought it was going to be but it is what it is,” he revealed. “They wanted to do a match on TV and a match on Dark. There’s so much stuff on the PPV but I would have done a few things differently, not necessarily politic for my match to be on a PPV. But on a PPV you’re a little more lenient – no commercials and more time to tell your story – but I have no issue with the direction it’s gone.”

He admitted that, once the Sabian feud wraps up, he isn’t sure what’s next. Janela shared how he usually lives “week by week” but is still getting adjusted to having a more stringent schedule to adhere to.

AEW Revolution takes place on February 29th, 2020 from Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

Joey Janela Discusses Feedback To His Match With Kenny Omega, Being A Technical Wrestler

All Elite Wrestling’s Joey Janela recently reflected on the reception he received for his matchup against Kenny Omega. The two competed in a Lights Out match on the 10/15 episode of AEW Dark. Despite Janela’s best efforts, Omega would emerge victorious from their encounter.

“The response was crazy. Actually, we were supposed to have a straight up, regular match on Dark. Nothing too crazy and I got the call the night before from Tony Khan, changed it to the f— fest that it became, and me and Kenny, we went 30 minutes which wasn’t supposed to be the case and it was kind of a big match for me and one of the main reasons I signed to AEW was to wrestle Kenny Omega and I got it so soon and it came so sudden,” Janela told POST Wrestling.

“I’m All The Flavors Of Ice Cream”

Although known for his proficiency in hardcore matches, Janela has faith in his technical wrestling ability. He noted how he has been delivering technical matches for a while, pointing to previous bouts with Matt Riddle and Zack Sabre Jr.

“[…] people on the indies know I can wrestle because I’ve done it all in front of these fans,” he said. “But the new fans coming into AEW, see me for the first time—saw me as kind of [a] hardcore, car accident, f— fest, f—g fall off a ladder and kill yourself wrestler which is not the case so now it’s me doing the same thing after I got thrown off that building a few years ago and proving people wrong on a larger scale and convert people and say, ‘Listen, this is not what I’m all about. I’m all the flavors of ice cream all rolled up.”

Joey Janela is set to wrestle Jon Moxley on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT. You can watch his matchup against Kenny Omega in the video below:

Enzo Amore Responds To Joey Janela’s Version Of Altercation With Big Cass

Joey Janela recently recounted his experience with Big Cass during a WrestlePro event. He shared his story during an episode of Wrestlers On The Road Ordering Room Service. The end result of his altercation saw Cass removed from the event in an ambulance.

Now, Cass’ tag team partner, Enzo Amore, has addressed Janela’s side of the story. He also suggested that the AEW wrestler is using the incident for attention. Amore stated that Janela has zero class or credibility because of it.

Taking to Twitter, Amore wrote:

“I addressed the drunk fantasy portrayal of an atercation already, no one laid a hand on anyone. We saw the tape, but when you speak about a man who’s currently in a rehab in an effort to gain more views, notoriety, & attention. You have 0 class or credibility. I’m disgusted.”

Janela explained how the whole exchange with Cass was like a “horror movie.” He added that he did not press charges as “He [Big Cass] just didn’t know what he was doing and I felt bad…. Get him to a hospital because you know he’s dealing with something crazy.”

Amore recently thanked both WWE and Diamond Dallas Page for helping his friend during this difficult time.

Joey Janela Details His Altercation With Big Cass

All Elite Wrestling’s Joey Janela has opened up about his recent altercation with Big Cass at a WrestlePro event. He shared his story during a recent episode of Wrestlers On The Road Ordering Room Service on the Being the Elite YouTube channel.

‘The Bad Boy’ explained how he went outside for a smoke only to have Big Cass corner him and strike him in the head.

“I went outside for a smoke and I had said ‘Hello’ to the dude earlier and he was like, ‘Hey, what’s up?’ I go out for a smoke and he corners me and then smacks me in the head,” Janela said of Cass. “It wasn’t like a hard smack but it just caught me off guard. I’m like, ‘What the f*ck is going on here?’ Then he starts chasing me, ‘Joey, I’m’ coming to kill you!'”

He recalls how he ran through the locker room in an attempt to get away, comparing their chase to an episode of Tom & Jerry, as Cass allegedly threatened to shoot and kill him.

“It Was Like A Horror Movie”

Promoters of the show eventually put Janela into a separate locker room, locking the doors in an attempt to protect him. Janela remembers being terrified saying, “It was like a horror movie,” as Cass attempted to open every door in his attempt to find him.

When Janela prepared for his match at WrestlePro’s equivalent to the Gorilla Position, Cass would try to attack him once again. He ended up being tackled to the ground by other wrestlers.

Despite this scary exchange, however, Janela doesn’t hold it against Big Cass. He explained how he had lost a friend because of substance abuse problems, and because of this he empathizes with Cass’ struggles.

Despite Big Cass’ repeated attempts to get at him, Janela refused to press charges, explaining that “He just didn’t know what he was doing and I felt bad…. Get him to a hospital because you know he’s dealing with something crazy.”

Big Cass’ tag team partner, Enzo Amore, recently thanked both WWE and Diamond Dallas Page for helping his friend during this difficult time.

Joey Janela Says NXT’s Product is “Stale”

Joey Janela says he might be the one to mess with WWE on AEW television. Janela was recently a guest on the WINCLY podcast and spoke about the Wednesday Night Wars and referred to NXT’s product as “stale.”

Janela said on the show he watched NXT’s debut on USA a few weeks ago and wasn’t that impressed.

“I watched the [NXT] premiere a few weeks ago and it was okay. I don’t watch NXT and haven’t watched it in two years. There were other reasons I wanted to watch it as well *cough cough* Lio Rush who I wanted to see f**k up or not. But he did great. Besides that, it was kinda stale.”

He would admit that NXT’s PPV events are good, however.

“Their PPVs are spectacular; they’re big Saturday shows are great. I think it’s gonna be competitive and I think NXT knows what they’re doing. But AEW knows what they’re doing as well. So we’ll see what happens.”

Janela also teased that he could be the one to mess with the other company similar to what happened a few times during the Monday Night Wars.

“I don’t know. I was a big, big WWE fan in the Attitude Era and I would like to be that prick,” admitted Janela. “There’s a chance I could be that prick, so you’ll have to watch and see.”

Joey Janela Reveals His Wrestling Gear Was Stolen

All Elite Wrestling’s Joey Janela uploaded an unfortunate video during Wednesday afternoon. ‘The Bad Boy’ took to Twitter to share footage of damage to his car after somebody had broken into it. He revealed that his wrestling gear had been stolen while he was in Philadelphia.

The short clip shows the aftermath of the robbery, with broken glass all across the car seats. Cables can be seen strewn across the passenger seat as Janela deadpans “Good afternoon, Philadelphia.”

In the actual tweet, Janela wrote:

“Good afternoon Philadelphia, Wrestling gear is bye, bye…. Bunkhouse Janela is BOLA…….”

https://twitter.com/JANELABABY/status/1174397390398377992

He later added that, despite having $80 in cash in plain sight, the robbers decided to steal the “sweaty gross wrestling gear” instead. They also took his Beats Headphones.

“I’m dying that I had $80 in cash laying around in plain site but the robbers decided to take sweaty gross wrestling gear and a man purse full of foreign coins…..”

Trying to stay positive about the awful situation, Janela later tweeted that “If I don’t have any gear this weekend I still got these sick CHOPS BABY…”

Joey Janela recently competed for All Elite Wrestling’s All Out event. He participated in a three-way Cracker Barrel Clash matchup against Darby Allin and Jimmy Havoc.

Big Cass & Joey Janela Altercation At Indy Show, Police Involved

Police were involved in a situation at a WrestlePro event last night in Rahway, New Jersey. According to various reports, Big Cass was involved in several confrontations backstage at the show. Here is what is currently available in regards to the situation:

Big Cass/Joe Janela/Pat Buck Incident

According to PW Insider, Big Cass was confronting people backstage over stolen items, one of which is believed to have been a sweater. Cass confronted Joey Janela about it as well, though what was said or what he did is unclear. This was causing a bit of a stir backstage.

Cass is then said to have confronted Pat Buck (possibly over the stolen items, it’s not clear) while Buck was putting together the main event match for the event. PW Insider’s report says Cass spit on Buck and then Buck punched him and took him down. The report does not mention who is providing the details or what their role in the incident was, however.

Cass is then said to have been removed from the building by police at the promotion’s request. The police who removed Cass had already been at the venue and were asked if they could remove Cass, they had not been called to the venue specifically to deal with the situation.

It had been reported by at least one outlet that Cass had been arrested. This was later refuted by those who conctacted the local police department, however. Not only was Cass not arrested, the police didn’t feel it necessary to even fill out a report regarding the incident.

Joey Janela Doesn’t Want To Wrestle To A Formula, Thinks Those Who Do Are “Lazy”

Despite being known for his penchant for hardcore wrestling, Joey Janela has explained how he doesn’t adhere to a formula.

Speaking with Bleacher Report, Janela detailed that he doesn’t “have a set move set or a formula. A lot of these guys, they get lazy,” he said. “They develop a formula which they use every match. And it makes their matches lack excitement.

He continued, “I’ve always been a good technical wrestler. I’m pretty good at adapting to my opponent. I wrestled a match with Zach Sabre Jr. a couple years ago where we went to a 30-minute time limit draw. Thirty minutes of technical wrestling. That’s the kind of match my critics are never going to watch, because they don’t want to admit I have that aspect.”

Janela is a member of the All Elite Wrestling roster. During their recent show All Out, he participated in a Cracker Barrel Clash triple threat match alongside Jimmy Havoc and Darby Allin.

He called their match “good, harmless fun,” admitting there was some craziness involved throughout. Janela added they were within the boundaries of a PG-14 environment and, had they removed the staple gun, the match could work in a PG environment.

Joey Janela will become a full-time member of AEW when the show debuts on TNT on October 2nd.

Joey Janela Opens Up About Altercation With Enzo Amore

All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) “Bad Boy” Joey Janela has revealed that he didn’t think his altercation with former WWE Superstar Enzo Amore would “blow up” the way it did.

Speaking with NJ.com, Janela opened up about the incident that took place at a blink-182 concert in New Jersey.

“I didn’t think something like that would blow up the way it did,” Janela confessed. “But it was a little embarrassed coming out of it. But you live in you learn. I feel bad that I did it. The guy was trying to have a night out, enjoy himself, just like I was enjoying myself.”

AEW would try to capitalize on the confrontation, filming a brawl breaking out between Janela, Darby Allin, and Jimmy Havoc before revealing blink-182 were present. Mark Hoppus, bassist and one of the singers of the band, then quipped “Again, Janela…what the f***?”

Janela and Amore had previously traded insults prior to their confrontation at the concert. They continued their back and forth after news had broken that they had found themselves in a fight. Eventually, video evidence of the fight found its way online.

Joey Janela competed this weekend at AEW’s All Out event. He took part in the Cracker Barrel Clash matchup facing off against Jimmy Havoc and Darby Allin. Jimmy Havoc would emerge victorious.

AEW Posts Video Of Joey Janela In Another Blink-182 Related Fight

Joey Janela was involved in a scuffle of sorts with Enzo Amore at a Blink-182 concert back on July 9th. AEW has since released video of Joey Janela in another fight while members of the band Blink-182 looked on.

This time Janela was involved in an altercation with his future opponents at All Out and former teammates from Fight for the Fallen, Darby Allin and Jimmy Havoc.

Video of this latest Blink-182 related altercation of Janela’s can be viewed below:

It was later reported by the Wrestling Observer that Tony Khan is a longtime Blink-182 fan and organized their appearance in the above video.

All Out Lineup

Janela vs Havoc vs Allin was added to the All Out lineup last week. The updated lineup is below:

Footage Of Joey Janela & Enzo Scuffle At Blink-182 Concert (Video)

As previously reported, there was an altercation between Enzo Amore and Joey Janela at a Blink-182 concert last night in New Jersey. Footage of the scuffle has since been posted online.

According to Tweets from both Janela and Enzo, Janela introduced himself to Enzo at the show and a scuffle broke out between the two.

The two never really engage during the video.

Joey Janela and Enzo Conflict In April

Shortly after Cass and Enzo invaded the G1 Supercard in MSG this April, Janela Tweeted at Enzo.

“Just saying this, straight up if @real1 wants some buzz, he can come shoot with me next year at @GCWrestling_ Bloodsport I’ll do 4-6 months of whatever MMA Training Barnett Recommends so I don’t make a fool out of his art, the way NZO makes a joke out of the wrestling business…” Janela Tweeted.

Enzo then said he’d pay for Janela’s MMA training and Janela responded that he wouldn’t want Enzo to blow the last of his money.

Joey Janela & Enzo Amore Altercation At Blink-182 Concert

Janela then said he walked up to Enzo at the Blink-182/L’il Wayne concert last night.

Enzo Amore & Joey Janela Involved In Altercation At Blink-182 Concert

It appears that Enzo Amore and Joey Janela got into a physical confrontation during a concert. Both were in attendance for last night’s blink-182 show at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.

According to their Twitter rendition, Janela attempted to introduce himself before Amore slapped Joey’s hands away, challenging him to a fight.

The two confirmed the altercation occurred, allowing the confrontation to spill over onto social media.

The Rock Show

After the event, Enzo Amore wrote the following to Joey Janela:

“I’m glad you introduced yourself cause I couldn’t pick you out of a line up. You don’t want no smoke. And now I know it, there’s only two things that smell like fish. Ones fish. @JANELABABY straight p****y.”

In response, Janela replied, “At least I said hello….”

This incited Enzo all the more, who warned him not to “try & play that wrestling s**t with me,” promising he would “end up on f*****g world star.”

“Where was that energy at? We aint friends @JANELABABY Dont introduce urself to me f***boy I thought u were a fan hahaha the second I realized it was u I slapped ya bitchass hands down & walked @ u w/ MY HANDS UP YA F******N RAN BACKWARDS & told my homey to film it ??? soft af”

Janela addressed the accusation, claiming that they had, what he called, “the s******t fist fight of the year.”

Amore, however, remembers it differently.

“Boy we didn’t have the s******t fist fight of the year, I slapped ur f*****n hands down and walked at u with mine up and u walked away and let me know all that S**t u talk IS A WORK… which is fine if I were a wrestler.”

Janela explained that, with his exclusivity deal starting in October, they won’t have an opportunity to wrestle or fight. All he wanted to do was introduce himself.

That being said, “The Bad Boy” did throw out one last challenge:

Past Heat

The two have had heated Twitter exchanges in the past, with Joey Janela accusing Enzo of making a joke out of the wrestling business.

Janela would lay down a challenge to face Amore in a shoot match at Josh Barnett’s next Bloodsport event. He even promised to do 4-6 months training so he wouldn’t “make a fool out of his art, the way NZO makes a joke out of the wrestling business…”

Enzo, in turn, offered to pay for his classes before Janela shot back, claiming he would want him to blow the last of his money.

Joey Janela Squashes Cody Hall In Twitter Beef

All Elite Wrestling’s Joey Janela got into an online beef with Cody Hall yesterday on Twitter, where he told Hall to get his act together.

Janela tweeted out that he wasn’t having a great morning owing to a very late flight. He also had to catch a train that would take two hours to get him home. He implied that he was in a bad mood, and asked everyone to leave him alone.

This is exactly when Cody decided to respond, and Hall wasn’t having any of the trolling. Hall wrote, “Post for attention, says leave me alone.”

Janela reponded in a brutal fashion and stated that Hall is 28, 6’9 and the son of Scott Hall, yet he isn’t signed anywhere, nor is he getting any notable independent dates. The Bad Boy urged Hall to get his act together.

https://twitter.com/JANELABABY/status/1143688432499200001

This prompted Hall to write a response of his own, where he specifically mentioned how handsome he is.

https://twitter.com/Cody_Hall1/status/1144003150652645376

It isn’t clear if the both of them are building up heat for a match down the road, or if they simply just don’t like each other. Whatever the case may be, it’s clear that it’s best to leave the Bad Boy to himself when he asks you to.

Enzo Responds To Joey Janela’s Challenge

Since invading the G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden last weekend, Enzo and Big Cass have announced they are reforming their tag team. Now known as the Free Agentz, nZo and CazXL say they aren’t signing any exclusive contracts and could potentially appear in any promotion.

One promoter/wrestler, GCW’s Joey Janela, sent a message to Enzo on Twitter. He challenged Enzo to appear on next year’s Bloodsport event:

For those unfamiliar with Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, the annual event uses a more realistic style similar to the UWF promotion in Japan during the 1980s. Minoru Suzuki and Josh Barnett wrestled in the main event of the show this year.

Enzo posted the following to his Twitter account the next day:

Janela then issued the following response:

When asked if he actually has beef with Enzo, however, Janela stated he is just having fun.

Enzo and Big Cass Are The Free Agentz

Enzo and Cass told SI.com this week that they do not plan on signing any exclusive contracts. This would theoretically free up the pair to appear on a GCW show at some point in the future if Enzo and Janela plan on capitalizing off their online back-and-forth.

“This is the real-life NWO,” said Enzo this week to Sports Illustrated. “We are not signing any exclusivity contracts, we are not signing a non-compete. We have all the right in the world to promote ourselves shamelessly and have as much fun as we want. If fans want to see us in a ring, then let their voices be heard.”

Billy Gunn Joins AEW, AEW Talent Allowed To Work Elsewhere

Another familiar face has joined the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) crew. Former WWE star Billy Gunn was introduced as AEW’s first and only official producer. Rhodes announced the news in a video uploaded to AEW’s Twitter account.

Gunn and his son, Austin, were both at yesterday’s AEW rally. They also both competed in Cody and The Young Bucks’ “All In” pre-show in the Over Budget Battle Royal. Check out: Updated list of talent working with AEW.

AEW Talent Allowed To Work Elsewhere

There was plenty of news from yesterday’s rally. Some bits of information regarding AEW’s talent were also brought to light. Cody spoke at the post-rally media scrum and commented on select AEW talents, such as Chris Jericho and Joey Janela, being able to work elsewhere.

Jericho will still be allowed to run his cruises, and Janela can still run Spring Break shows. We spoke with one AEW star who said they will be allowed to work with other promotions, except WWE. This might be a window into AEW’s approach to signing talent.

Some of their stars might be exclusive, but others could be brought in on non-exclusive deals in order to give AEW access to more wrestlers who have other commitments. This might also lead to AEW forming partnerships with other promotions.

Joey Janela Opens Up About Split From Penelope Ford

It looks like professional wrestling couple Joey Janela and Penelope Ford are no longer together. Janela recently ‘vented’ on Twitter and opened up about his recent struggles. He included his real-life breakup with Ford in the statement. Since 2014, Janela and Ford worked the independent scene together.

They appeared together at the “All In” pay-per-view (PPV) in September for Janela’s match against Adam Page. Interestingly enough, Ford was spotted as a member of the WWE tryouts in Orlando at the Performance Center recently:

Janela’s Recent Struggles

Janela suffered a bad leg injury at a Game Changer Wrestling event in September. After landing awkwardly on his leg after a crossbody dive, it was determined Janela tore his PCL, MCL, suffered ACL sprain, and several other injuries. He’s expected to be out for at least a year.

Here’s what Janela had to say on Twitter:

“I usually don’t get too personal on here, but I wish I had a camera crew follow me around for the last four months, you couldn’t write my life, ups and downs galore. Went from wrestling on the most talked about Pay-Per-View of the year to completely blowing out my knee in less than two weeks.

“Major knee surgery at the end of October that caused me to miss my own show in Los Angeles (I watched it from my friend’s basement) [and] on top of all of that, my real life relationship with Penelope Ford ended.

“I just wanna thank the fans for being for me with these past few months, all the love and support has mentally and financially supported me through these times. And, oh yeah, Spring Break 3 sold out so fast that we had to add another show, which equally sold out just as fast!

“The clock is ticking and I’ll give everyone the great wrestling comeback story of all-time. The next chapter is gonna be epic! Enjoy the ride. Happy Holidays!”

Marko Stunt Breaks Leg At GCW Event, Requires Immediate Surgery

Another up-and-coming star on the independent scene has gone down to injury. “Mr. Fun Size” Marko Stunt revealed following last night’s show that he suffered a broken fibula at Game Changer Wrestling’s PPV last night.

Stunt was wrestling Eli Everfly when the injury occurred. Twitter user @GIFSkull posted video of the injury:

Marko Stunt Breaks Leg On Game Changers Wrestling PPV

Less than 3 weeks after both Joey Janela and Marko Stunt appeared at All In, Janela wrestled Psychosis on a GCW PPV. While diving from the ring ropes to the floor, Janela suffered multiple injuries to his knees. He required surgery and is expected to be out 9 months to a year.

“Unfortunately my man @MarkoStunt suffered a bad break of his Fibula and needs immediate surgery in the morning, can we take care of him in whatever means necessary everyone?”

Joey Janela Set To Undergo Knee Surgery Friday

Joey Janela revealed on Twitter that he’s set to undergo major knee surgery this Friday. Wrestling’s Bad Boy has been out of action since September after suffering a multitude of injuries to his left knee while performing a dive at a Game Changer Wrestling event.

Janela reportedly tore his MCL and his PCL, and sprained his ACL, while also sustaining an impaction fracture, a bone bruise, and partially tearing another ligament in the knee.

The ligament tears are something of a common injury for athletes, and the standard timetable in sports for returning from major knee ligament surgery is nine to twelve months, as evidenced by Carson Wentz in the NFL.

That rough timetable for Janela’s return to action is what we reported earlier this month. How the additional injuries that Janela sustained will impact that timetable remains to be seen.

Joey Janela To Miss At Least One Year Following Knee Surgery

Janela To Miss “At Least A Year”

On Tuesday afternoon, Janela revealed that he’ll be going under the knife next week. His surgeon informed him this was an especially bad injury. The operation will keep him out of action for at least one year. It’s hard to put a positive spin on the situation aside from the fact that the injury is not career ending and Janela has proven himself to be as tough as they come. We wish Joey Janela a speedy recovery.

He details the moment the injury occurred, reflecting on hitting a crossbody dive onto his opponent, Psicosis. Janela highlights that the move is one he has “hit a hundred times, without issue.”

“I just came down wrong. Bad. On my left leg. Badly contorted my left knee. It bent into a position that a human’s leg should never bend in.”

“It’s A Long List Of Things…”

The Bad Boy then informed fans that had received his MRI results and that, sadly, “it’s a long list of things.”

“I completely tore and destroyed my PCL. I completely tore and destroyed my MCL. There’s an impaction fracture in the one of the bones in my knee that I don’t know how to pronounce,” he joked, before pressing on, “[…] I have a mild bone contusion in another bone in my knee. A sprain, a fibular collateral ligament. A partial tear of another ligament. Patellofemoral ligament. I have a ACL sprain and a small knee infusion.”

“That’s about 8 things. I’m going to need surgery, it seems like,” he divulged. “I talked to a few specialists, and I’m going to be out for a long while. I’m going to disappear for a bit.”

Joey then promised, “When I come back 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 months from now, I’m going to be better than ever. Thank you.”
