CM Punk Extends Two PPV Streaks At SummerSlam, A.W. Reacts To “Kobe Bryant” Chants, Jim Ross

– CM Punk’s WWE Championship victory over John Cena and Big Show Sunday at SummerSlam extended two pay-per-view streaks. His win marked as his ninth consecutive successful title defense on pay-per-view. However, despite his reign atop WWE, it was the eighth consecutive pay-per-view in which he did not defend the title in the main event.

– WWE Universe members didn’t waste any time in chanting “Kobe Bryant” during the WWE Tag Team Championship Match between Kofi Kingston, R-Truth and The Prime Time Players at SummerSlam in response to The Players’ manager A.W. being released following a Kobe Bryant rape joke on Raw weeks ago. A.W. was informed of the chants on Twitter and responded, “To all the fans that showed their support with the chants and tweets I really want to say “THANK YOU”!!! You guys are truly.. #UNSTOPPABLE!”

A.W. also reacted to WWE confiscating a sign at SummerSlam Axxess today that featured a printed screenshot of WWE chief Vince McMahon distorting his face in a backstage segment on Raw two months ago to ridicule Jim Ross’ facial paralysis: “That really sucks! People pay their hard earned money to show their support for @WWE and that’s how they get treated. #Bully.”

– Jim Ross took a swipe at WWE’s past pay-per-view efforts Sunday via Twitter, writing, “SummerSlam has been a ‘clean’ show devoid of bad attempts at humor or endless non wrestling content. Big money matches merit big $$ effort.”

However, when a mysterious ghostly bear appears and threatens to ruin the show, Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred work with WWE Superstars to solve the case.”

Warner Bros Home Entertainment will distribute the film via Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and digital download while WWE will use its considerable resources to promote the title, said WWE Studios President Michael Luisi.

Kurt Angle Continues To Trash Talk CM Punk & Also John Cena

After apologizing to CM Punk on Tuesday night for threatening CM Punk over the weekend and calling him a b*tch (in response to Punk calling TNA an “indy league”), TNA star Kurt Angle then posted a few more tweets talking trash about Punk and also John Cena.

Kurt Angle Apologizes For Threatening CM Punk

Angle tweeted on Tuesday night that he could “take out” John Cena in 45 seconds and that a match with CM Punk would only last 30 seconds. He later deleted those tweets.

“Who Wants to See Angle vs. Punk?” Angle wrote. “It would Last 30 Secs. Lol. Just Kidding. I’m not Mad anymore. Punk, Ur Safe Now… Put It to Rest. Angle vs. Punk will Happen. Tna or Wwe. I Hope Tna. We’ll See. U tough Punk?

Angle then took one more parting shot at Punk, claiming he makes more money:

“If Tna is an Indy Company, then Why Do I Make More $ than Punk Does in Wwe? I’m just Saying.”

John Cena Wants To Wrestle The Rock Again, Del Rio-SummerSlam News & More

– A local commerical that aired during RAW hyping the August 27 RAW from Milwaukee, Wisconsin is advertising John Cena vs Big Show in No Disqualification match. The ad (and the Bradley Center website) are hyping it as a “revenge” match. WWE Champion CM Punk had been previously scheduled for the main event.

– According to WWE sources, Alberto Del Rio being pulled from SummerSlam is part of a storyline and has nothing to do with Del Rio (or Sheamus) being punished. The situation will likely be resolved at tonight’s WWE SmackDown tapings. We’ll have full results up later tonight.

– During an interview with Steven Muehlhausen of the Fight Club Chicago radio show, WWE star John Cena was asked about The Rock challenging the WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble – and the possibility of wrestling The Rock one more time.

“I think about Wrestlemania every single day, whether is for the WWE Championship or not. I would like another shot to face The Rock.”

Tara Says WWE Blocked TNA From Appearing At Wizard World Chicago Comic Con

TNA Knockout Tara reveals in her latest video entry that she was banned from appearing at today’s Wizard World Chicago Comic Con in Rosemont, Illinois due to WWE’s presence at the event.

According to the former Victoria, WWE permitted their talent to appear at the event on the condition that TNA Wrestling talent are prohibited from appearing.

“I was supposed to be there on Saturday and the only way WWE would show up is if Impact Wrestling was not going to show up. So I got the last minute phone call and I got nixed,” she states.

Garrett Gray, winner of the Knockout’s ‘Geek Fit Challenge’, then asks, “Wait a second. Are you telling me that the WWE says that Impact Wrestling is not competition, but yet they are banning them from Wizard World?”

Tara responds, “Actions speak louder than words.”

John Cena, CM Punk and Booker T appeared at the event over the course of three days. The ban, however, did not extend to former WWE talent as The Bella Twins, Maryse, Kevin Nash, John Morrison, Melina and Lita appeared as advertised.

JBL Not Retruning To WWE, John Cena vs. Tensai & More

– Following his recent tease that he could be returning to SmackDown as an announcer, former WWE superstar JBL tweeted the following response to fans inquiring about the situation:

– John Cena vs. Tensai is being advertised for the main event of next weekend’s RAW-brand live events from Mississippi and Arkansas. Big Show will be overseas with the SmackDown crew.

– Monday would have marked as Dino Bravo’s 64th birthday. On March 10, 1993, Bravo, whose real name was Adolfo Bresciano, was found shot to death. He was 44-years-old. In all, seventeen shots were fired, seven to the head and ten in the chest and abdomen area while watching hockey in his Vimont, Laval, Quebec home. It is widely believed that his alleged role in illegal cigarette smuggling in Canada led to his murder.

Masters Says Cena Is A Stiff Worker, Whether He Will Join TNA

Chris Masters appeared on Inside The Ropes radio Thursday night. Highlights are as follows:

How he finds Vince McMahon backstage: “He’s above and beyond everybody. Even The Hulkster. He’s the guy that put this stuff together. They’re an odd family. They are good at business. People who are business savvy tend to come off a little cold. They don’t get too close to the performers. My first meeting with him was very cool. I told him in due time, I could definitely be a huge player for WWE.”

Who came up with Masterpiece gimmick: “Dr Tom Prichard changed my name to Masters. My friend Matt Morgan and I were sitting one day and he said Masterpiece. I brought it to Jim Cornette and he ran with it, WWE ran with it. I joke that I give 10 per cent of my salary to Matt Morgan. I’m just kidding. He always ribs that he’s responsible for it but I tell him he just had one moment of brilliance (laughs).”

On working with John Cena in 2005/06: “That guy had some heavy fists. Carlito and I used to joke around that in tag matches with Cena and HBK, we would literally rush to get to Shawn Michaels, because he wasn’t as heavy with hands and the other guy would be stuck with Cena and you’d be potato’ing each other left and right. I remember at the Elimination Chamber I felt like I was in a real shoot fight. It’s not that he’s bad, he just gets really fired up and he’s got big hands, he doesn’t realise his own strength.”

Thoughts on his TNA dark match and ending up working for Dixie: “I think there’s a good chance I’ll be working them in the future. It’s a different vibe to WWE. I like that Dixie Carter makes herself accessible to the talent. Jason Hervey came up to me after the match with a camera and just let me talk, it wasn’t some writer giving you stuff to say. There was a good reaction from the crowd. All in all it turned out as good as it could go. I’ve planted all the seed I could. It’s up to them if they want to capitalise, if not I’ll just go about my way.”

What Happened After Raw, AJ Gets A Last Name, John Laurinaitis

– After Raw went off the air, John Laurinaitis hit the ring with a steel chair tapped for John Cena. Cena, however, ducked and hit the former Raw General Manager and Executive Vice President of Talent Relations with the Attitude Adjustment. Big Show then tried to attack Cena, but was put to rest with the Attitude Adjustment.

– In her first night as Raw General Manager, AJ was referred to as AJ Lee. It is the alias she used in WWE developmental league Florida Championship Wrestling from 2009 to 2010. When it was announced in August 2010 that she would be part of the third season of WWE NXT, the last name was dropped and she was simply referred to as AJ. However, she maintained the AJ Lee name on her Twitter account.

– John Laurinaitis turns 47-years-old Tuesday. WWE.com announced Monday that Laurinaitis had resigned from his position as Senior Vice President of Talent Operations, citing “burn out.” He will continue to work for the company as a producer assisting talent with their matches as well as performer.

Results: WWE Raw 7/30 Randy Orton Returns!

We are live from Cincinnati, Ohio and your announcers are Jerry ‘Will Kane do anything with Pete Rose tonight’ Lawler and Michael ‘Herb Tarlek is my hero’ Cole.

Michael Cole mentions that the evening is eventful so far. Jerry Lawler mentions that there was a pyro situation where the TitanTron caught on fire. We see the footage of the fire.

It is time for a video package to remind everyone what they saw last week on Raw as the milestone of 1000 episodes of Raw was achieved. (remember that Raw 2000 will take place on September 22, 2031). We end with what Punk did to the Rock.

CM Punk makes his way to the ring. Punk says that Wrestlemania moments are what everyone talks about. They want their Wrestlemania moment. Punk says that he had a Raw moment last week that was bigger than most people’s Wrestlemania moments. Before he explains why he did what he did to the Rock last week, he wants to talk about something else.

The way that Raw 1000 went off the air, he felt uncomfortable. It ended with Jerry Lawler saying “CM Punk has turned his back on the WWE Universe.” Punk looks at Lawler and he goes to the announce table. He puts his title belt on the table and sits down in front of Lawler on the table.

Punk says that he doesn’t get it. He is used to bad overly dramatic hyperbole on commentary but not like that. Punk says that it was Lawler who turned his back on him. Rock was not the WWE Universe. The Rock is one single solitary man. He is a larger than life, extremely charismatic, delusional movie star who showed him an incredible lack of respect.

Rock interrupted him and that is something that no one should do. When he went into his tired shtick with Daniel Bryan, it was like Punk was invisible. When Rock ‘lowers himself’ to talk to Punk, he mentions that he is gifted a title match at the Royal Rumble. Rock acts like he is going to be given the title.

Punk says that he showed Rock some respect because he should have dropped Rock right then and there.

Then at the end of the night, Dwayne does what Dwayne does best. He tries to make the show all about him. Punk says that was when he showed Rock the type of person he is dealing with at Royal Rumble. Punk reminds Jerry that he is the champion.

Punk wonders what the Rock’s response is because we haven’t heard anything. When Dwayne was dealing with John Cena, we couldn’t shut him up.

Punk says that he knows what Dwayne’s silence means. Punk tells Jerry that when it comes to him and his little agenda, Jerry can say what he did or didn’t do to John Cena. The 1000th episode of Raw ended the way that every episode should end. The focus was on the WWE Champion, the best wrestler in the world.

Big Show’s music plays and he comes to the ring and Punk goes into the ring as well.

Punk says that Show is out here to steal the spotlight too.

Show says it isn’t hard to do. He says that the focus was on Punk at the end of Raw 1000, but the end of Raw 1000 was all about him. Show reminds everyone that he is the one who cost John Cena the WWE Title. He made John Cena the first man to cash in the contract and lose. Show says that Punk is the ‘best in the world’ but Show knocked out John Cena and Punk still couldn’t beat him. Punk was in the STF and would have tapped out if Show didn’t do what he did.

The only reason why Punk is still the WWE Champion is because of him. Show says that Cena vowed that he would not win Money in the Bank and Show says that he vowed that Cena would not cash in. Show vows that he will be the next WWE Champion.

Punk says that Show couldn’t beat John Cena at No Way Out and couldn’t get the briefcase at Money in the Bank. It appears that the only person who is winning is him.

John Cena’s music plays and he goes to the ring and he kicks and punches Show. Show pushes Cena away and leaves the ring.

Punk stands in the ring watching John Cena trying to steal the spotlight.

AJ Lee comes out and she says that as her first proclamation as Raw General Manager tonight’s main event will be Big Show versus John Cena. The winner of the match will face CM Punk at SummerSlam for the WWE Championship.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Cole asks Lawler what his thoughts were on CM Punk’s explanation. Cole sends out a Tout Challenge.

Santino sets for the Cobra but Del Rio was playing mongoose and then Del Rio sends Santino into the ring post and then he applies the cross arm breaker and Santino taps out.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

After the match, Del Rio stands over Santino and he says that he just destroyed the US Champion like nothing. Santino Marella is beneath him. Sheamus is beneath him. All of the people in here are beneath him. If it is not a World Title match, he will not compete. Starting today, he will not compete until SummerSlam.

We go to the hallway and Bryan tries a second time to talk to the Raw General Manager. Daniel cannot summon up the strength to knock on the door and we go to commercial.

We are back and Vickie interrupts Brodus and the Funkettes. She asks them if that is dancing and she calls it a disgrace. She tells the little girls to step aside so the Queen Diva can show everyone to put a step on. Vickie calls for her music.

Damien Sandow’s music plays and he has something to say. He begs everyone’s indulgence. Tis Damien Sandow, the intellectual savior of the masses and our martyr. A horrible crime was perpetrated last week against humanity. Damien wants the footage to be rolled at once. We see what DX did to Damien Sandow.

Damien sees Brodus laughing and he attacks Brodus. Sandow clips Clay and punches him. Sandow with knees to Clay’s head and he continues the attack with punches and kicks. Sandow whips Clay with his tear away pants and then he breaks Brodus’ gold chain.

Michael Cole mentions that Dolph Ziggler and Chris Jericho will be involved in a tag match later tonight. We see footage from way back at Raw 999 when Dolph Ziggler inquired of Chris Jericho’s current status only to see Jericho hit the Codebreaker.

We then see what Chris Jericho did to Dolph Ziggler on last week’s Smackdown (not even close to 1000) and the Brogue Kick from Sheamus and Codebreaker from Chris Jericho.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Daniel Bryan finally enters AJ’s office. AJ says that she is glad to see him. Bryan wants to know if AJ is insane but AJ tells Daniel to shut up and she reminds him that she is his boss. There were a few guys in white coats last week. They looked like they were from a mental hospital. AJ says that she thinks Daniel was going to marry her to get her committed.

Daniel says that he is committed to AJ. They were friends of his and they were wearing white because he was wearing white.

AJ says that she is putting Daniel in a match against one of his favorite opponents, Sheamus. Daniel asks if it is for the title and AJ says no. She repeats NO and Daniel leaves.

In case you missed the Brock Lesnar and Triple H confrontation from last week, we have highlights.

Michael Cole reminds us that Daniel Bryan will face Sheamus. The fans get to choose the stipulation. Will it be a No Holds Barred Match, a Falls Count Anywhere Match, or a Street Fight?

Sheamus is walking in the back and Josh Mathews asks Sheamus what type of match he wants. Sheamus likes that the decision is in the hands of the fans. Sheamus says that his face won’t win any beauty pageants so the rougher the better.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Daniel Bryan tells everyone to stop chanting yes. Daniel says that he is the only person who can chant ‘YES’. Daniel wants everyone to stop while he yells ‘NO’.

Jerry Lawler lets us know the stipulation and it is going to be a Street Fight.

Bryan says that Truth is consoling an invisible child and they wonder what is wrong with him. Bryan says that Truth is out of his mind and he does not belong here.

Daniel’s wedding party comes out and they are here to take Truth away.

AJ’s music plays and she comes out. She tells them that Truth isn’t the person who needs the help. The little guy in the ring needs the help. Randy Orton’s Drug Suspension Ends, Changes To SmackDown

Randy Orton’s 60-day suspension for his second violation of WWE’s Talent Wellness Program has ended—suspended effective May 30. He returns imminently as he is scheduled for Monday’s Raw in Cincinnati, Ohio and Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Indianapolis, Indiana.

According to F4WOnline.com, his suspension stemmed from a positive drug test for elevated levels of testosterone. He reportedly told people that he took a tainted supplement containing the testosterone, causing him to fail, and acknowledged that he should have been more careful. WWE chief Vince McMahon was said to have been livid with Orton over the matter, particularly since he was so “outspokenly indifferent.”

Orton’s suspension caused a ripple effect on SmackDown as John Cena, Triple H, CM Punk and Daniel Bryan were shifted to several shows this summer to alleviate the brand’s lack of star power. Punk and Bryan will resume their feud at Raw live events beginning this weekend while Cena will cease making special appearances following SmackDown broadcasts in three weeks. Triple H will continue to make special appearances on SmackDown until further notice.

Doane On Cena’s Divorce Settlement; AJ-Bryan-Sheen Storyline

– It was reported last week that John Cena and ex-wife Elizabeth Huberdeau had reached a settlement in their divorce proceedings. When news of the divorce broke in May, an inside source told The Miami Herald that it would “dwarf the Hogan divorce in nastiness,” with Huberdeau’s attorney Raymond Rafool stating to TMZ.com the following month that she was convinced the WWE Superstar was unfaithful during their marriage and would prove it in court. But in a sharp turn, Rafool stated that all matters in the divorce were settled and resolved amicably. Former WWE performer Kenn Doane, who has claimed that Cena had an affair with his then-girlfriend/fiancée Mickie James in 2007, weighed in on the divorce settlement via Twitter.

“If I knew I wasn’t going to win in court, I would settle too. His only option. Keeps him a babyface without the world knowing he cheated,” he wrote. “He and his lawyer knew if it went to court then his name gets dragged through mud. Settle an walk away. #smartchoice.”

Doane, however, added, “Honestly I am glad it ended peacefully. Court always sucks.”

– WWE.com has published an article asking who Daniel Bryan should be worried about more as SummerSlam approaches: AJ or Charlie Sheen? AJ ditched Bryan at the altar to assume the Raw General Manager position while the award-winning actor has issued an open challenge to him at the Los Angeles pay-per-view event.

Cena’s Latest Tout, RVD Compares TNA To WWE, Santino

– During a recent interview with the Phoenix New Times, TNA star Rob Van Dam compared WWE to TNA:

“In Total Nonstop Action, individual wrestlers have a lot more freedom to artistically express themselves versus WWE. When we have our matches, they are known to be more athletic, more competitive in nature, and that’s what wrestling fans really appreciate. And the fact there’s more of a focus on wrestling in Total Nonstop Action over the other major company on TV. Whereas WWE has been known to feature more of the 400-pound giants that aren’t necessarily going to (perform) quite as impressively.”

– WWE United States champion Santino Marella is back with Episode 26 of his Foreign Exchange Youtube show:

– Here’s John Cena’s latest Tout, promoting his appearance in the kids movie “Fred 3,” which airs tonight on Nickelodeon:

Riley Not Ready To Comment On Rumor, The Rock Thanks WWE

– Once a promising talent in WWE’s midcard scene, Alex Riley’s role in the company has been greatly curtailed since last year. According to PWInsider.com, the Raw Superstar is in the doghouse stemming from a hostile backstage encounter with John Cena.

Cena was reportedly poking fun at Riley in front of their wrestler peers, and in response, the Raw talent angrily reacted to Cena’s “rib”—a violation of the unspoken rules of the WWE locker room. Though Riley’s exact actions are not known at this time, his unfavorable reaction to WWE’s premiere star was not considered a good move.

“A-RY” was asked to weigh in on the matter via Twitter and responded “I’d rather not comment about this… At this time.”

– Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson congratulated WWE via Twitter on their milestone 1,000th episode of Raw: “Congratulations @WWE for an historic & monumental night of television: 1000th episode of RAW. Honored to perform on it.”

Storyline Plans For Punk, The Rock, Cena & Undertaker

– The Undertaker was said to be very relaxed backstage at RAW 1,000. He is currently scheduled to return to WWE storylines around Survivor Series in November.

– With The Rock announcing on Monday’s RAW that he’ll be wrestling for the WWE Championship at next year’s Royal Rumble, the current working plan is for The Rock to win the WWE Championship at the Rumble (likely from a heel CM Punk) and then go on to defend agaisnt John Cena at WrestleMania 29. Despite Rock & Cena’s WrestleMania 28 match being hyped as “Once In a Lifetime,” Cena winning the Royal Rumble could set up a scenario where a rematch would take place.

– CM Punk’s surprise heel turn at Monday’s RAW 1,000 was the big “summer storyline” that WWE has been planning for quite some time. Previous summer angles have included Vince McMahon’s limo blowing up, the formation of Nexus and CM Punk’s “pipe bomb” promo from last year.

Kenn Doane Weighs In On Heat Between John Cena and Alex Riley

Once a promising talent in WWE’s midcard scene, Alex Riley’s role in the company has been greatly curtailed since last year.

Though Riley’s exact actions are not known at this time, his unfavorable reaction to Vince McMahon’s pride and joy was not considered a good move.

Kenn Doane, who appeared as Kenny of the Spirit Squad and Kenny Dykstra for WWE from 2006 to 2008, weighed in on the matter after claiming last month that Cena’s backstage politics sabotaged his once promising grappling career.

He tweeted, “Cena acts stupid to riley, riley calls him on it, loses push. This must be a lie! Lmao #ibelieve.”
