John Cena Watches 205 Live From Audience Stand (Video)

WWE had moved this week’s episode of SmackDown and 205 Live to the Performance Center due to coronavirus threats and the shows were broadcasted without an audience.

John Cena who was featured in the main event segment of SmackDown took advantage of the situation and watched the broadcast of 205 Live from the audience stand.

The company later posted a video of the Cenation Leader enjoying the show. The 16 time World Champion claimed that watching wrestling live is something he has often longed to do and there is no experience like it:

“This is something that I often longed to do—watch this done live, there’s no experience like it, A guy like me, sometimes sticks out in the crowd. I definitely stick out in the crowd today, because I am the crowd.

But I’m in the tech area and because of the circumstances; I get the treat of watching this live. Now, I’m used to performing in front of a crowd, so I’m a rookie at all this stuff. I’m watching the pros and taking notes. This is awesome.”

John Cena had a confrontation with his WrestleMania opponent Bray Wyatt during SmackDown and The Fiend warned the former World Champion that it’s going to be a slaughter at the Show Of Shows.

These two will meet in a one on one match at WrestleMania 36, though it will only be possible if the event takes place as scheduled and it’s not cancelled by the Tampa officials.

Fast & Furious 9 Featuring John Cena Has Release Date Delayed

While John Cena landed one of the biggest movie roles thus far in his acting career, fans will have to wait even longer to watch it.

The former WWE Champion joined the cast of “Fast & Furious 9.” Vin Diesel, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and more star in the film.

The film, which will be the ninth installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise, was scheduled to be released on May 22, 2020, by Universal Pictures.

That all changed on Thursday when the franchise issued a statement announcing that the film’s global release date has been delayed until April 2021 and it will open on April 2, 2021 in the United States due to the coronavirus.

“To our family of Fast fans everywhere, We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga.

That’s why it’s especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film. It’s become clear that it won’t be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May.

We are moving the global release date to April 2021, with North America opening on April 2. While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration.

Moving will allow our global family to experience our new chapter together. We’ll see you next spring. Much love, Your Fast Family”

While Cena will be joined the cast, there won’t be one familiar face featured and that’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as he will not be returning in the film.

John Cena’s Appearance Announced For This Week’s SmackDown

WWE has announced that the Cenation Leader and former World Champion John Cena will be making an appearance on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

Cena made his return to WWE programming during the February 28 episode of SmackDown after a long hiatus, where he announced that he won’t be a part of WrestleMania this year.

The 16 time World Champion had made the decision to stay off the show this year to leave the spot for the younger talents but things changed quickly.

He was confronted by ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt as John was heading back and the former Universal Champion challenged John Cena for a match at the Show Of Shows by pointing towards the WrestleMania sign.

The former WWE Champion accepted this challenge made by the former Wyatt Family leader and WWE has since confirmed that these two will meet in a one on one match at this year’s edition of WrestleMania.

There is no word yet on what John Cena will be doing at the show but the latest episode of SmackDown saw Bray sending a message to his opponent in a Firefly Fun House segment.

So it’s likely that John will respond to the former Champion and it will be interesting to know if we see a confrontation between the two stars at the episode.

John Cena Comments On His SmackDown Return, Bray Wyatt Match

John Cena has broken his silence on not only his WWE return but also his next match.

The former WWE Champion made an appearance on last Friday’s episode of SmackDown on FOX in Boston, MA at the TD Garden in the final segment.

The lights went out then back on with The Fiend standing behind him and pointing at the WrestleMania sign. Cena tipped his hat and The Fiend disappeared to close the show. Now, he’ll take on Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36.

Cena took to his official Twitter account on Monday evening where he issued his first public comments. Cena wrote the following:

“Want to thank @WWEonFOX and more importantly @WWEUniverse for such an emotional experience on #Smackdown,” Cena wrote. “I went to Boston to say ‘goodbye’ but realized that no matter where life takes me, @WWE is always home. Now, onto #WrestleMania!”

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when Cena will return to SmackDown.

Although not confirmed, the belief is that he should make at least a few more appearances to build to the big match in the coming weeks.

Mark Henry Comments On Crowd Reaction To John Cena’s SmackDown Return

Mark Henry has shared his thoughts regarding John Cena’s return to SmackDown last Friday night. The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about Cena’s comeback during an episode of Busted Open Radio

Henry reflected on how he’s so used to hearing the WWE Universe chanting ‘Cena Sucks’ at the Superstar. He noted how it was “unfathomable” to him that Cena would be so embraced upon his return.

“I could not believe the reaction from the crowd last night,” he confessed. “I just, like, I guess absence does make the heart grow fonder. Because he got more love that first minute and a half…he couldn’t even talk. The crowd was like constant. It was a constant roar. And every time he got ready to say something, they amped up.”

Mark Henry noted how Cena may have been taken aback by the reaction, given how crowds have been so mixed in previous years.

John Cena Vs. ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt

John Cena’s appearance helped to set up a WrestleMania 36 matchup between himself and ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt. Ironically, Cena was highlighting how this year’s ‘Mania should be focused on new talent and modern Superstars. Despite these statements, he now finds himself in a major matchup on ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All.’

Wyatt recently dropped the WWE Universal Championship to Goldberg at WWE’s recent pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia, Super ShowDown.

John Cena Returns On SmackDown, Starts WrestleMania Feud

John Cena made his long-awaited return to WWE television.

The former WWE Champion did so on Friday’s episode of SmackDown on FOX in Boston, MA at the TD Garden. As seen on the show, Cena closed the show with a promo about how he needs to answer the question of what he’s doing at WrestleMania 36.

Cena made it known that he always will be a WWE star. He said that he’s doing something different because he knows how hard the WWE stars work for one moment at Mania. He said that WrestleMania should go on without him because it’s the right thing to do.

Cena stated that he’s not going away but doesn’t know when he’ll be back. Cena says WrestleMania should be earned not demanded. Cena put the microphone down and walked up to the stage.

The lights went out then back on with The Fiend standing behind him and pointing at the WrestleMania sign. Cena tipped his hat and The Fiend disappeared to close the show.

Dave Meltzer was initially able to confirm earlier this month that not only will Cena wrestle at WrestleMania 36 but he’ll be wrestling Elias. WWE thinks that Elias will “get the rub from losing to Cena.”

However, that was later changed and reported that Cena would be feuding with Wyatt that would ultimately lead to a match between the two stars at WWE’s biggest event of the year, WrestleMania 36.

Austin Theory Says John Cena Is HIs Inspiration, Reason Why He Got Into Wrestling

Austin Theory has sent waves through NXT since he made his debut in December last year. In this week’s episode of NXT, he took on Tommaso Ciampa and gave him a run for his money but eventually lost the match.

Theory was recently interviewed by ComicBook.com where he was asked about his goals for 2020, which he revealed to be a match against his inspiration, John Cena. Austin said that Cena was the first person that got him into wrestling and he liked his attitude the most. Theory also revealed that he was bullied growing up and Cena’s way of handling himself gave him encouragement to push through the harder times.

“I remember turning on the TV, and the first thing I ever saw was John Cena in the ring doing a segment with Johnny Nitro at the time and Melina. I know that makes everybody’s eyes roll. But I remember watching that, and just his attitude, I just liked it.

“For me growing up, I was bullied in school, and I didn’t have my dad in my life, so it kind of helped me, like just his attitude and the way he was and the way he carried himself, no matter what the situation was. John Cena just gave me that encouragement, and even if it sounds cheesy, just to never give up. I mean it’s true, and that’s what’s gotten me here so quick,” said Theory.

As mentioned before, Austin Theory faced Ciampa and he actually shocked him in the early portions of the match with his upstarting performance. He dominated most of the match and gave an impressive performance despite losing.

John Cena’s Opponent At WrestleMania 36 Revealed

John Cena is slated to be in action at this year’s WWE WrestleMania 36 event as his opponent has been revealed.

Dave Meltzer was able to confirm that not only will Cena wrestle at this show but he’ll be wrestling Elias. The belief is that the feud will likely kickoff when he makes his return to WWE television. That will be on the February 28 episode of SmackDown as WWE will do an angle for the upcoming match.

Meltzer noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that he was given a name for an opponent. At first, he held on giving it out but stated that it was “so underwhelming, it’s ridiculous.” When Bryan Alvarez guessed Baron Corbin or Elias, Meltzer said it’s not Corbin.

This was when the reveal was made. WWE thinks that Elias will “get the rub from losing to Cena.”

WWE presents the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Tampa, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium that will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming months.

  • Paul Heyman On John Cena’s Brock Lesnar Comments

Paul Heyman On John Cena’s Brock Lesnar Comments

Brock Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, has responded to John Cena’s recent comments. Cena praised Lesnar in an interview with Sports Illustrated, calling Lesnar the “best in-ring performer of all time.” Despite his kind words, it doesn’t seem Heyman is impressed with Cena’s sentiment.

Taking to his Twitter account, Heyman shared an image of Brock Lesnar and John Cena from their early days on SmackDown. Lesnar has Cena hoisted onto his shoulders, seemingly ready to deliver an F5. Heyman accompanied the Tweet with the following caption:

    “Dear @johncena, #BrockLesnar doesn’t want your F’N compliments! Happy Valentine’s Day, #YourHumbleAdvocate.”

Making sure Cena would see the post, Paul Heyman tagged him, the official WWE Universe account, and Brock Lesnar himself. Cena has yet to respond to Heyman’s post at the time of writing.

    Brock Lesnar’s Upcoming Bouts

Brock Lesnar is set to defend his WWE Championship against Ricochet. The two will face off at WWE Super ShowDown which takes place on February 27th from King Fahd International Stadium in Saudi Arabia.

If he retains, Lesnar will proceed to clash with the winner of the 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble match, Drew McIntyre. They would compete on “The Grandest Stage of Them All” WrestleMania 36 on April 5th in Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, Florida.

Booker T Discusses John Cena’s Brock Lesnar Comments

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has shared his two cents on John Cena’s comments regarding Brock Lesnar. Cena recently shared his opinion that Lesnar is the “best in-ring performer of all time” in an interview with Sports Illustrated. Speaking on his podcast, The Hall of Fame, Booker T addressed Cena’s words.

“I know where John is coming from,” Booker T said. “[…] I can say I had a small piece in teaching John Cena the art in Shakespeare. People think I am throwing shade on him when I say John Cena is very limited as far as move set. He’s a guy who parlayed his skills all the way to the main event, the most decorated champion in WWE history. For John to make that statement about Brock Lesnar, I can’t say he’s wrong.”

He continued, “I wouldn’t necessarily say the best, he’s not number one on my list but as far a performer goes, right now, today, on the roster, in my opinion, Brock Lesnar is the most believable guy on our roster today in 2020, bar none. If anybody wants to challenge me on that, do so. The most believable athlete walking out of that curtain. He makes you believe it, you want more of it even if you don’t want more.”

Booker T On Lesnar’s Rumble Performance

Booker T looked at Lesnar’s performance in the Royal Rumble matchup as an example of this, calling it “awesome.” He believes people will remember January’s Rumble match for a long time because of Lesnar’s involvement and that, no matter who Lesnar’s opponent is, “if and when that guy beats Brock Lesnar, the fans go crazy. That’s a moment.”

Brock Lesnar defends his WWE Championship against Ricochet at WWE Super ShowDown on Thursday, February 27th. The event takes place from King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Roman Reigns On John Cena Calling Brock Lesnar “The Best In-Ring Performer Of All Time”

Roman Reigns has addressed John Cena’s comments regarding the current WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar. Cena recently shared his belief that Lesnar is the “best in-ring performer” he’s ever seen. Speaking during a WrestleMania 37 press conference at SoFi Stadium & Hollywood Park in California, “The Big Dog” shared his opinion on Cena’s thoughts.

“It puts you on a different level. When you work with Brock Lesnar, when you’re in the ring with Brock Lesnar, it puts you… it jumps you multiple levels,” Reigns said. “My life changed in 2015, WrestleMania 31. It hadn’t been the same. So, I mean, got a lot of love or Brock, he’s a great performer. A lot of people heard the statements that John Cena made about him… I’m not sure if he was wrong, you know what I mean?”

WrestleMania 31 saw Reigns face off against Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Seth Rollins would appear and cash in his Money In The Bank contract, eventually winning the championship.

Roman Reigns On Drew McIntyre’s WrestleMania Matchup

Roman Reigns then turned his attention to Lesnar’s upcoming WrestleMania 36 opponent, Drew McIntyre. He shared how McIntyre will be in “good hands” when he clashes with Lesnar later this year.

“He’s one of the few guys that people really, really believe,” Reigns said of Lesnar. “Even as a performer, you have to always keep your eyes on him. If you watch…when I’m in the ring with him, I never take my eyes off Brock, because you just never know. That’s the type of competitor, that’s the type of intimidating man that he is. So, I think the fact that Drew is going to him next, he’s in good hands.”

Roman Reigns is scheduled to face off against King Corbin at WWE Super ShowDown. The two will clash in a Steel Cage match. The event takes place on February 27th from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

John Cena To Play Vin Diesel’s Brother In “F9”

The first trailer for F9, the upcoming movie from the Fast and Furious franchise has arrived, and it reveals what character John Cena is going to play.

Cena was announced to be joining the film last June, and there was no word on what role he would be playing in the movie, until now. The trailer reveals that John Cena will be playing the role of the brother of Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel).

In the three minutes long trailer, it is revealed that John Cena’s character Jakob, is Dom’s long-lost brother and he has teamed up with Cipher (played by Charlize Theron) to take down Dom.

The film seems to be focusing on the sibling rivalry as John Cena will play the role of the main antagonist, besides Cipher. John Cena’s Jakob is a master thief, assassin, and a high-performance driver, and it can be seen in the trailer how far he’ll go to take down Dom and his crew.

The film will release in theatres on May 22. The film stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang (yes, apparently his character’s alive), Charlize Theron and Cardi B, who will play a new character named Leysa, shown to be a woman who has a connection to Dom’s past. In a recent interview with SI.com, John Cena says that Brock Lesnar is the greatest WWE performer of all-time. Cena discussed watching the Royal Rumble from his home on the WWE Network and how he doesn’t feel his presence was missed on the show.

“I can say with the utmost sincerity that I believe Brock Lesnar is best in-ring performer that I’ve seen and I know it’s an opinion, and if you want a cool quote, here it is: I think he’s the best in-ring performer of all time,” Cena said during the interview.

Cena would continue to talk about Lesnar’s performance in the men’s Royal Rumble match.

“I thought his performance at the Rumble was a clinic on how to establish yourself, how to establish those around you, establish the championship, establish the importance of one event.”

Speculation Over John Cena Potentially Appearing At WWE Royal Rumble

John Cena has talked about wanting to make a WWE return in the near future. A photo posted on his Instagram account has led fans to believe that could be happening sooner rather than later.

Cena posted a Royal Rumble photo earlier today. It should be noted that he didn’t provide any context for the photo posted.

The former WWE Champion made his last Royal Rumble appearance in 2018 where he made it to the final four in the contest alongside Finn Balor, Roman Reigns, and the winner, Shinsuke Nakamura.

John Cena Shares Reason Behind Wearing Denim Jorts As His In-Ring Gear

John Cena shared some insight into his ring attire when he was a recent guest on an episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden to promote his latest film, Dolittle.

During an appearance on the show, Cena talked about his signature “jorts” [denim shorts] that he wore throughout his in-ring career. It turns out that his “Dr. of Thuganomics” character originally inspired the attire.

    John Cena Shares Insight

The reason for that is due to him wanting to be different from other stars as they wear traditional ring gear while he wore street clothes.

“If you look at my other options, it’s just underwear,” Cena said. “So I wanted to do some sort of street clothes because my persona was a tough, wannabe rapper kid from the mean street of West Newbury. Tough to do that in your underwear, tough to do that. So I also wore sneakers while most guys wear calf-high or knee-high leather boots.”

In a more funny way, Cena also brought up how he did try to wear cargo style shorts while performing for WWE. However, he found that it was common for the crotch to blow out of the cargo shorts.

As a result, it would expose him to fans during his matches and he had to change back to the jorts.

“So I’m pretty much in street clothes, and I chose denim because you don’t blow the crotch out of denim. I tried cargo pants and in front of the world a few times – here I am trying to put my life on the line with a superstar that I’m trying to have a match with and everybody’s just looking at my d–k. So, denim is a safe play. And they’re back in, so I kind of stood the test of time!”

  • John Cena Says The Rock Changed The Game For Wrestlers In Hollywood

John Cena Says The Rock Changed The Game For Wrestlers In Hollywood

Wrestlers such as John Cena and Batista are currently enjoying post-wrestling acting careers. Hollywood hasn’t always been so accepting of wrestlers, however. According to comments Cena made to Cinema Blend recently, he believes the Rock’s foray into acting changed all that.

“It definitely has changed, and I think that rests on the already broad shoulders of Dwayne Johnson,” Cena said regarding Hollywood’s attitude to wrestlers. “He just made it acceptable to be something other than your wrestling persona. If you look at the correlation of wrestlers or WWE personalities in movies, they essentially played extensions of their WWE personality. I think Dwayne was one of the first ones to break that mold, and do it on such a grand scale that he couldn’t be ignored.”

John Cena On Wrestling and Hollywood

Cena would continue to talk about the similarities between pro wrestling and other forms of entertainment.

“What we do in WWE is we tell stories – we just tell most of it through a physical nature of a narrative. And it is over the top, and a very Shakespearean form, but it is storytelling. I just think we have a lot of talented individuals that could be good in other avenues. It’s just by being on every week without a break, perception is reality. ‘I know this person for being this person and this person alone.’ It’s very much like your favorite [television show], like Seinfeld.”

Cena’s film career is set to have a big year in 2020. He will play a role in each of the next installments of the Fast and Furious and Suicide Squad films.

John Cena Talks Moving On As WWE Regular, Hints At WrestleMania Appearance

John Cena was on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week where he made some interesting comments while he talked about his status with WWE.

Right out of the gate, Cena was asked about his status with WWE, which is where Cena noted, “I’m officially moved, I’m not a regular player.”

Cena talked about how WWE is still in his heart and he’s still a part of the family as he keeps in touch with a lot of folks but he wants to be a mentor and help others.

The former WWE Champion brought up being 42-years-old and being proud of the effort that he’s put forth.

“I just want to make sure that I’m never in a position where paying customers like yourself look at the effort and go, ‘Eh, he’s just sticking around because he’s greedy.’”

    John Cena Talks WrestleMania 36

Cena was asked if he calls WWE to pitch ideas to him or if he calls them, which he noted that he always likes for WWE to give him ideas and he makes it his own. This is where Cena brought up WrestleMania 36 in April.

“I know that we have a small, large event called WrestleMania around the corner, just so happens to be in Tampa, that’s kind of where I live, so I’ll be in the neighborhood, so if Suicide Squad should be done, but it’s not like I call someone up and be like, ‘I want to be in WrestleMania.’ Those spots are very coveted.”

    John Cena On WWE Boss

Cena continued by noting how there are performers that work all year to earn those spots. Make no mistake about it, he would love to earn one of those spots.

“The way you do that is by Vince McMahon, the head of creative, calling you up and going, ‘Hey pal, I’d like you to do this.’ And then I say, ‘Yes sir,’ and then I put my own spin on it.”

Cena ended by noting that McMahon is more than a boss to him but rather a friend, father figure, mentor, and trusted resource. He does still think of him as his boss.

He hasn’t wrestled at the biggest event of the year for the company since 2018 where he lost to The Undertaker in a quick match.

“I hope they always view me as a member of the WWE, because I am,” he said. “Whether it’s watching the events or being able to participate, any chance I’m given to answer this question, WWE is my family. It’s weird that the culture is, you either do this or you do that, and for 20 years I’ve been trying to tell people, ‘No, it’s all really cool.’”

Cena talked about how he doesn’t ever want to not be known as a WWE superstar because he can’t perform as much as the current ones due to him being a little bit older.

He noted how he has these cool opportunities to do other stuff but he doesn’t want to come across as he’s shutting off the WWE world.

Instead, Cena brought up how he’s trying to bring this world with him so everyone can all be involved in a movie conversation or a WrestleMania conversation.

Cena has landed another movie role as he is set to co-star in the movie “Vacation Friends,” a film is a comedy that will see Meredith Hagner and Lil Rel Howery in the other co-starring roles.

“The one thing I really regret about showcasing the breakup is that no one got to hear [John’s] voice, and it just seemed so one-sided. I felt like that wasn’t fair to him because he was on this journey with us from the beginning.”

Nikki Bella also revealed that Cena never took one paycheck from Total Bellas. She thought it was beautiful that he was fully there to support her and she will never forget his support and his love.

“That’s what made me sad—I don’t want to say it became the Nikki show, but in a way it did because you didn’t get to see John anymore.”

The couple announced their separation last year after dating since 2012 and being engaged for a year. Prior to their split, John Cena and Nikki were scheduled to get married in May 2018.

John Cena On Why He Follows So Many People’s Accounts On Twitter

John Cena recently spoke to Sports Illustrated and talked about his Twitter presence. He discussed the use of social media and particularly Twitter and why he started following so many random people’s accounts on the website.

Cena is a bit interesting when it comes to social media usage. His Instagram account is particularly weird, where he posts random images usually. He would sometimes also post cryptic images hinting to something he’s going to do in the future, and none of his posts have a caption.

On Twitter, Cena posts inspirational messages and advice. He is also often asked if his tweets are directed at a particular person because of this. Cena has also started following seemingly random accounts on Twitter, and he explains why he chose to do it.

“I know that social media is most times a difficult, argumentative, and negative place, Twitter especially, because of the ability to hide behind the text,” said Cena. “So what can I do? Send out good stuff, be honest with everybody, and then follow people that relate to the good stuff.

“If I follow someone who is a ‘negative’ person on Twitter—their profile reads sarcastic, skeptic—and they like my tweets? They’re not who they say they are, or they have a chance to change. If the experiment fails, so be it, but it’s just me trying to use my presence to tip the balance.”

So there you have it. Cena believes in authenticity and he follows others because he knows that there is a notion that people get happy when Cena follows them. He tries to follow people who relate to his messages and spread positivity with his huge reach.
