John Cena Says He’s Far From Done With WWE

After winning the WWE Title from John Bradshaw Layfield at WrestleMania 21 in 2005, the sports entertainment company has continued to keep John Cena as a babyface due to his popularity with younger fans.

For years now, the older male audience has called for the former WWE Champion to turn heel and go to the dark side. Not only because they want to change Cena from being portrayed as a babyface, which he has done for over a decade but also because he was such a great heel back in the day.

Cena recently spoke with Arash Markazi for ESPN.com to promote the YouTube Red animated series called “Dallas & Robo,” which is set to premiere on May 30. During the interview, he talked about his future with the WWE despite all of his projects outside of the ring

“I’m far from done with the WWE. The WWE will always be my home, but in this current state of affairs right now with all this extra cool stuff that’s going on, it’s fun to try. It’s a great time to be able to take a chance and I’m so eternally grateful to the WWE and its audience for bringing me to this point.

I realize I’d be nowhere without them and I never forget them. I promise as soon as I have any sort of downtime, like I had when I was at the Greatest Royal Rumble and the string of shows I did before WrestleMania, anytime free time I get will not be free, it will be spent at my home in the WWE.”

John Cena Responds To EC3’s Desire For WrestleMania Match

John Cena has given his reaction to a challenge from EC3.

The former Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion was able to get out of his contract with Impact early, which in turn allowed him to sign with WWE. The sports entertainment company placed him in NXT, where he made his first appearance on the WWE Network at NXT Takeover: Philly.

During a recent interview with WWE.com, EC3 made it clear that he would like to wrestle the former WWE Champion at an upcoming WrestleMania event.

He was quoted by saying, “Yes. I want to vanquish John Cena at WrestleMania.”

This is a big challenge considering that WrestleMania is the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company.

Cena, who was last seen on WWE television just last month at the Greatest Royal Rumble event by beating Triple H in a singles match, responded EC3’s comments by posting this on his Instagram account:

John Cena Says He Wants To Marry Nikki Bella & Have Kids Together (Video)

John Cena appeared on NBC’s Today show on Monday morning and dropped some bombshells regarding his recent break-up with fiancee Nikki Bella.

During the interview, Cena revealed his heart was “broken out of nowhere” when Nikki ended their engagement. Despite photos circulating online of Cena apparently enjoying the single life, Cena says that is simply not the case and he’s heartbroken.

“I love her. I want to be with her. I want to make her my wife. I want to be the father of her children. I just want us to work.”

Cena feels that Nikki might need time to figure out what she wants. There was a long period of time that he didn’t want children, but he’s a changed man. He said he is honored by the time he had with her and that they still speak and he really hopes things will get resolved.  He said he was never in love before her and he still loves her.

    John Cena Posts Cryptic Tweet

John Cena is notorious for posting cryptic content on his Instagram page, and he didn’t disappoint this time around. The Leader Of The Cenation has posted a photo that shows a figure hitting another person with a steel chair, captioned by the phrase “heel turn.”

Cena could be referring to a number of things; likely last night’s controversy with Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe’s main event match at Backlash. Fans started to walk out of the arena in protest of Reigns’ continuing to be shoved down their throats – not to mention the match was a snoozer. Many have called for The Big Dog to turn heel instead of being pushed as WWE’s top babyface.

He could also be referring to the hype from fans to have himself turn heel. This has been an ongoing debate for years now, so perhaps Cena is simply having his fun with fans’ minds and making them speculate. You be the judge:

“Congrats man and I’m excited to go on this journey with you. Congrats my friend and let’s go make a good one.”

The Janson Directive will be an action thriller film which originally had plans to star Dwayne Johnson as the lead but he had to move to just producing because of his tight filming schedule. The film is based on the novel of the same name written author by Robert Ludlum and will star John Cena in the lead who, after leaving covert operations due to the high number of sanctioned serial killings, goes into business as private security consultant. • John Cena Doesn’t Understand Why People Want To Be Famous

John Cena Doesn’t Understand Why People Want To Be Famous

WWE Superstar John Cena recently did an interview with the ID10T with Chris Hardwick podcast to talk about several professional wrestling topics. Cena first discussed a unique correlation between professional wrestlers and comic book characters, and explained why some wrestlers can be considered nerds:

“We are in the business of imagination, and a lot of that creativity rests on your own shoulders. When you say ‘nerdy,’ and the things that nerds are drawn to, the creativity to video games or comic books, if that is what defines a nerd then we are all nerds because our job is to go out there and be a superhero and a super villain. It’s not like, I want to run a 40-yard dash as fast as I can.

“Now, creating a superhero character, if your character can look muscular or big, then you have the advantage of having your character look like a superhero. So, it’s only in your best interest to be in superhero shape, so that comes with the territory. We are not in a pure sport environment,” Cena said. “It’s a comic book existence, so that is why we share on certain views on culture and that is why we are so nice about everything because we shouldn’t be doing it as a job. It’s not an occupation that should exist.

“I think all of us should earn a living because we are never home, and our body certainly takes a beating, but I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. I think any of my colleagues would be saying the same thing. It’s like, the joke is on them for paying us to do it. I know personally that i wouldn’t want to be doing anything else. I know that it is a time-dependent thing, so I am going to enjoy as long as I am on it.”

The Leader Of The Cenation then explained how some people get into the professional wrestling business with the sole purpose of becoming famous:

“If your goal is, ‘I want to be famous’, what the f**k is the tangible of that? I don’t understand that. When I see a ring and I get in, and I say that I just want to learn, and I just want to sustainably do this for my entire life, for as long as I physically can, then the ups and downs will come.

“When it is up, you can keep the perspective of saying to yourself that you shouldn’t be here anyway, it’s a great perspective to have because it keeps you working hard,” he said. “Sometimes you see complacency in our workplace, and I don’t understand that, because if you really wanted to be here, and when put a microphone in front of them, and when they say that they have wanted to do this since they were a kid, then you have to take the bad s**t with the good stuff because it’s not all good, and it’s tough work, but you should enjoy all of it.

“You really get to test a person’s mental when things aren’t going their way. Oftentimes that is the case, but at the end of the day, you are a freaking pro wrestler. You may not have been paired with the person you wanted to work with, but at the end of the day, you are getting paid to perform in front of people, which is a good thing.”

Cena then commented on his status as a “company guy” and also explains how he has grown over time in the WWE:

“For the longest, my goal, I’m a weird case because I love the company I work for. I am a company man. I know that I will not perform anywhere else in Pro Wrestling outside of the WWE because I love the company I work for. You have this life ark of I would like to become a Professional Wrestler. I would like to earn a WWE contract. I would like to become a champion. Then, when you ask yourself why you would like to become a WWE Champion and when you broke that down, it was so more people could enjoy WWE,” he said.

“I hate the fact that Pro Wrestlers are judged a certain way. I hate the fact that when you walk into a room and people scour and say, ‘Oh, it’s those guys.’ That is fact. That is the way it is. We run episodic television, with no reruns, no off season. We have an incredible global reach. We have a streaming model that is off the charts. Just now, after 40 years of doing this, people are like, oh, wow, okay, this kind of works. The acceptance is due to the fact that YouTubers can be successful. I guarantee YouTubers face the same stigma of only being popular because of YouTube.

“That just hit me the wrong way early on in my career and it made it a goal of mine early on that I would like to leave this place better than I found it, which is why I did The Marine early on. I didn’t want to do movies. I enjoyed living the life, and going town to town feeling the heartbeat of the excitement of that animal. You guys know that if you are out there and telling a joke, or if they are buying the bit, you get immediate satisfaction; or, if you are bombing, it’s also immediate notice, like, I’m going to change this.

“It is always another town, and it’s always another chance,” he continued. “It’s the passion of the live animal that is unlike any other thing in this world, but the business model made sense. If I take a WWE performer and make him a movie star, then that is more eyes on WWE. Got it! That works with my mission statement, I am going to do this. I did a string a movies that were unsuccessful, and I gave it everything that I had, but my heart wasn’t into it. My heart was in the ring, and now after 15 years of being in the ring, I have to strip it down to the bear minimal of why I keep coming back to this thing?

“I don’t need to. I have been well taken care of by the WWE, so what it is? Why am I not able to have myself drift away? I love the storytelling aspect of it. It’s not the physical bumps, it’s not like I’m going to do a stunt better than the next guy so that people can appreciate my athletic ability. I am in the twilight of my athletic ability, but I am drawn back because of the material. This guy hates you for this reason, or, if often than norm, when the Creative Writer comes to you and says that you are going to be working with this guy, you guys figure it out on what to do.

“A lot of our guys frown upon that, but I literally take the guy and go into a room and ask him why we are fighting. We can come up with anything. Did I look at your girl the wrong way? Are you jealous of me, am I jealous of you? That is the imagination aspect, which is what makes us nerds. We can take something out of nothing. That is what reintroduced me to film, and I have used my fortunate career in the WWE to not have to do movies. To be handed a script, to read a script, and be like, that was great.

“I can be whatever they want me to be in it because i just read the story. If the story is good, then you just tell me whatever piece I am and I will be that piece. It is a different thing because you don’t have the heartbeat of the live audience, but I get to still be creative in my own way, but to answer your question, I never thought of crossing over other than the reason to change perception of what it means to be a WWE performer. Now, I can get the thing I am most passionate about, which is telling stories for the audience, but under a different format.”

  • John Cena Says His Heart Hurts For Nikki Bella Following Split

John Cena Says His Heart Hurts For Nikki Bella Following Split

This December, John Cena stars in Bumblebee, a spinoff of the popular Transformers movie franchise. Cena was in Las Vegas on Wednesday night to promote the film at CinemaCon and commented on his recent split with ex-fiancee Nikki Bella.

In a conversation with E! News, Cena quoted Walt Whitman’s poem O Me! O Life! in describing how breakups are unfortunately a part of life.

“‘The powerful play goes on and you get to contribute a verse.’ I love that Whitman quote. Life is sometimes tough, but it’s life and it goes on. Nicole knows I love her and I miss her, but that is what it is. And I’m still here, still going—and I choose to go.”

Cena said it’s hard to conceptualize the heartbreak he’s felt as their relationship came to an end. “When you love somebody, it stings. That’s why musicians write about it. That’s why poets write about it. If anything, just try to take away what went wrong and enjoy the good times you had with the person that you love.”

The breakup of John Cena and Nikki Bella is being promoted as one of the main storylines for the upcoming season of Total Bellas. According to the Wrestling Observer, the breakup that was filmed for the show was actually resolved three days later, so the relationship was on-and-off in the final months before they ultimately called it quits.

Total Bellas returns to the E! Network on May 20th.

John Cena & Nikki Bella Split Up After 6 Years

John Cena and Nikki Bella have broken up.

Cena had been dating the former Diva’s Champion since November 2012 and they had been together for almost 6 years. The two also got engaged last year when the Cenation Leader proposed to the Total Bellas star at WrestleMania 33.

However, US Weekly broke the news earlier today revealing that the duo has mutually agreed to end their relationship. The story also features the following combined statement from both the stars, saying that they’ll continue to have love and respect for one another:

“While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another, We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.”

After the news went viral, the now former couple took on their social media accounts and reflected on the situation with Nikki saying that she loves her fans and John sharing a quote from Walt Whiteman:

John Cena On His Future After Wrestling, Shinsuke Nakamura On His Heel Turn

    – John Cena was recently a guest on Popcorn with Peter Travers where he was promoting his new movie Blockers. During the interview, it was noted that the Cenation Leader is giving ‘some serious thought to what comes next in his career after wrestling’:

“The fact that I’ve been able to do it at the pace that I have for 16 years, that’s not your regular statistic, That falls into like the Tom Brady category. I’m not supposed to be where I am anyway. So I don’t know when it’s all going to end.”

Apart from this Cena also talked about how the culture has changed and how he shared director Kay Cannon’s vision for his character in the film. You can read more quotes from John Cena’s interview and check out the video of it here.

  • Steve Austin Offers His Thoughts On Undertaker Squashing John Cena At WM 34

Steve Austin Offers His Thoughts On Undertaker Squashing John Cena At WM 34

WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin has released a new episode of his podcast, The Steve Austin Show, in which he breaks down this past weekend’s WrestleMania 34 event. One match in particular Austin discussed was Undertaker’s squash match over John Cena.

Austin explained that WWE didn’t advertise the match so that it could be viewed as a bonus for fans at the event:

“It was a little shocking to me with Cena calling him out for so long.” Austin explained, “basically, it was an unadvertised match. I mean, Cena’s trying to call out [Undertaker] and I kept thinking, ‘there’s no way, no way that he’s going to get an acceptance on the day-of,’ so, yeah, it was teased and they paid off the tease, but it wasn’t really advertised. So nonetheless, the crowd felt like they got a bonus, but in that bonus was a very short match and Cena got squashed.”

The former WWE Champion believes that the match would’ve been a lot more effective had The Leader Of The Cenation gotten in a bit more offense against Taker:

“I’ve got nothing but respect for both guys,” Austin prefaced. “Undertaker has been around forever. He has had one of the best runs in the history of the [pro wrestling] business, so has John Cena.

“And, man, had it been a 15-minute bing, bang, boom kind of thing, I don’t know that that’s what they needed, but it just seems like maybe if Cena got in just a little bit more offense into that Tombstone, then, do the favors, maybe it would have been a little bit more effective.”

With all that being said, Austin said he respects Cena, arguably the greatest WWE Superstar of all time, for accepting the match and his willingness to lose the way he did at WrestleMania:

“It was what it was and I don’t know how Undertaker’s feeling on a physical level.” Austin continued, “he looked phenomenal and he’s one of the toughest guys, I think, in the business.

“But Cena’s probably moving on to do other things with movies, and series, and endorsements, and stuff like that. But he continues to be an ambassador for the company, and [has] a great attitude, and it not afraid to put somebody over. I respect him for that.”

  • John Cena Tweets Cryptic Video After WrestleMania Loss

John Cena Tweets Cryptic Video After WrestleMania Loss

John Cena has WWE fans guessing what his next step will be after losing on the grandest stage of them all.

As seen at WrestleMania 34 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on the WWE Network, The Undertaker did, in fact, accept Cena’s challenge to a match. After Cena did a quick segment with Elias in the ring that saw Cena hit his finisher to the RAW superstar, a spotlight hit the ring with Taker’s hat and jacket with a lightning bolt hitting it.

Lights got out then back on with the hat and jacket gone. The gong hit and Taker’s music played. Taker comes out as his deadman gimmick. Taker won the match in very quick fashion.

With Cena’s acting career taking off, his role in the WWE has started to go from full-time to part-time. The former WWE Champion is advertised for tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Cena posted the following cryptic video to his Twitter account after the event.

  • Chris Jericho Explains Why John Cena Should Lose To Undertaker At WrestleMania 34

Chris Jericho Explains Why John Cena Should Lose To Undertaker At WrestleMania 34

Chris Jericho discussed the potential John Cena vs. Undertaker WrestleMania match on a recent Talk is Jericho. The sports entertainment company has still yet to announce this match despite the reports of it happening at the biggest event of the year for the WWE.

Jericho has done it all under the sports entertainment banner. He has been under contract with the sports entertainment company off and on since 1999. He is also a record nine-time Intercontinental Champion.

Jericho is the first Undisputed WWE Champion, and thus the final holder of the World Championship (formerly the WCW World Heavyweight Championship), having won and unified the WWE and World titles by defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock on the same night in 2001.

It’s safe to say that his opinion should be taken and considered. Thus, he stated during this podcast that if the WWE does indeed book this match, then Cena should lose to The Deadman.

“There might be a match of Undertaker versus John Cena because John Cena [has] been calling for it. Let’s take a little detour. Chances are that the match is going to happen. Chances are that Vince [McMahon] didn’t want Undertaker to waste an entrance on Raw. I think that, knowing Vince, he’s probably thinking, ‘People are going to buy this show either way and the tease of Cena coming in week after week, ‘Where’s Underaker?’ No response. ‘Where’s Undertaker?’ Everybody knows, even though they don’t know, that Undertaker’s going to come out and you get your big entrance and that sort of thing.’”

Jericho continued, “Listen, guys, from what I know and what Jack Slade knows, which is lots, 99% on my part, there will be Cena versus Undertaker. I have a theory. Undertaker should not lose at WrestleMania ever again. ‘The streak’ is done. He lost to Brock [Lesnar]. He lost to Roman [Reigns]. He does not need to be losing to John Cena. Cena right now, he’s about to become, I’m not going to say ‘the next Rock’, but we know he [has] got Blockers, he’s a star, and Duke Nukem, and Transformers. Cena is going to lose, as he should, because, at this point, if Undertaker’s going to be effective as a performer, he should never lose again. Ever. Yeah, he lost his match and he lost his other one to the heir apparent, the prodigal son of Roman Reigns. After that, he should beat everybody! If he’s going to continue wrestling, my opinion Taker beats Cena in a match of 1,000 false finishes.”

Lesnar is slated to defend his Universal Title against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 34 this Sunday night live on the WWE Network at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

On the flip side, Cena doesn’t have a match officially listed for the show but is rumored that he will be wrestling The Undertaker at the show.

John Cena Reflects On His Match With Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 30

WrestleMania 34 is set to be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Just four years ago, WrestleMania 30 went down and saw an interesting match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt.

At the time, Wyatt was the leader of The Wyatt Family. The group, which was created in 2012 while in NXT, includes Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan. For a short amount of time, Braun Strowman was featured in the group.

The group had a throwback feel to them. They were these people who came from the woods and the darkness into the light. You had three big, hard-hitting talents, who could get it done in the ring. Wyatt, who was the leader, cut different style promos before and after matches. It was truly unique to the NXT brand and later on the main roster.

Cena briefly spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about WrestleMania and his memory of his match against Wyatt. Here is what he had to say:

“Wherever we draw inspiration, that is what makes the beauty of creativity special,” said Cena. “A character like Bray Wyatt has gone through so many evolutions. With me, it was very different. I encompassed the commercialization of hip hop in the 90s and 2000s, and that’s how I got my jumpstart.”

“Bray started as a close correlation to a DeNiro character,” said Cena. “His origins were kind of like, ‘I saw this on screen in Cape Fear, and I would kind of like to take traits from that and put it into what we do.’ It’s gone unbelievably expensive since then.”

  • The Rock Reveals Past Real Issues With John Cena

The Rock Reveals Past Real Issues With John Cena

The Rock is currently on a media tour to promote his new film “Rampage.” It just so happens his old WrestleMania foe, John Cena, is doing to same to promote his own movie “Blockers.” The Great One recently made an appearance on The Jimmy Kimmel Show and was asked about Cena’s Hollywood success.

Rock was asked if he and The Leader Of The Cenation have any real tension with one another, because although they feuded in the WWE, the rivalry wasn’t real. The former WWE Champion actually corrected Kimmel and revealed some real issues he had with Cena:

“In the world of wrestling, as you guys know, it’s fictionalized, it’s a TV show. But we had our rivalry, and now we can look back on it, it was so real. Like, we had real problems with each other,” Johnson said. “We had real issues with each other.

“Now… he’s one of my best friends,” Johnson said. “We talk all the time, I’m rooting for him to win.”

  • John Cena On Getting Comfortable With Comedic Acting

John Cena On Getting Comfortable With Comedic Acting

WWE Superstar John Cena recently did an interview with Collider to promote his new film, “Blockers.” The Leader Of The Cenation discussed how comfortable he’s getting with comedic acting:

“I think a lot of that is being comfortable with the people around you and being comfortable with the material. Even if it’s not your sense of humor, you have to understand the humor. I also know that a lot of the humor rests on me looking like an idiot, so I’m okay with that. I’m okay with looking like an idiot.

“Some people don’t go there, but I don’t care. You have to get the perspective of funny people and not have any reservations on looking like a dumb-ass. I just trusted Kay and trusted my co-workers, and hoped that she then put it together well.”

If he ever imagined that he’d be butt-chugging, as his character does on the film:

“No, but I couldn’t have imagined any of this. I couldn’t have imagined that I’d have a WWE match and they’d give me money for it. This is not supposed to happen. For me to digest that moment, the moment is essentially that this dude will do anything for his daughter, and then he gets called out on it. He’s a guy who’s a man of his word. He will do anything for his daughter. Not only does that statement mean something, but he genuinely means it.

“It’s funny as hell. You’ll laugh out loud. But if you wanna talk about a vulnerable moment for a dude who’s built like a brick shithouse, to be humbled and humiliated in front of a part full of people because he’s worried about a bad decision his daughter may or may not make, that’s where I get the depth of shoving a beer up my butt.

“Everybody has their own process, but that’s why it’s funny and that’s why I’ll do it. It fits in the movie. It’s not just, “Hey, so we have this gag and we wanna do the gag.” There’s meaning behind it.”

He also commented on the reception that the movie has been receiving thus far:

“My goodness, of course! We saw it at SXSW, which is an amazing place to premiere a movie, and people were laughing so hard that they missed a lot of the punchlines. They were laughing over five jokes. You wanna stand there and be like, “Guys, be quiet!,” but at the same time, you don’t because they’re laughing at moments.

“Moments outlive punchlines. The punchlines will lose their luster, after awhile, but people were laughing at the outrageous moments of the movie, and that sets something up for long-term success. They’ll just have to go back and see it again.”

Michelle McCool Responds To Upset Fans On Undertaker Missing RAW, Paige Pranks Absolution (Video)

    – Fans are upset that The Undertaker wasn’t on Monday Night RAW last night to accept John Cena’s WrestleMania challenge. For the past several weeks The Leader Of The Cenation has been calling The Deadman out, but to no avail. Since Taker doesn’t use social media, fans typically go to his wife, former WWE Women’s Champion Michelle McCool, for answers.

One fan told McCool they were very disappointed her husband didn’t show up last night. When he asked “where is your husband???” McCool responded by revealing they’re actually eating breakfast:

    – This past weekend at a WWE live event, with some help from Mike Rome and Nia Jax, Paige pranked her fellow Absolution members Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. The pair were told Paige missed her flight and got in trouble before being sent home. Check it out here:

  • John Cena Explains Why The Attitude Era Wouldn’t Work Today

John Cena Explains Why The Attitude Era Wouldn’t Work Today

Professional wrestling fans often hold the Attitude Era as the greatest in WWE history. The Attitude Era is essentially used as the measuring stick for what WWE produces today. A lot of today’s professional wrestling fans despise the “PG Era” WWE is currently in, and one day hope for the company to return to content similar to what was produced in the late 90s or early 2000s.

WWE Superstar John Cena addressed this in a recent interview with Screen Rant and explained why the Attitude Era wouldn’t work in today’s world:

“Coming in in 2002 you’re still riding the coattails of the Attitude Era. It’s 18-35-year-old males, it’s very visceral, the entertainment is very extreme. Fast forward to 2004, 2005, 2006, more families are showing up. and I don’t feel comfortable saying the things I was saying on the microphone because I got to look at a little kid and at that point, I’m supposed to be the good guy?

“That’s not how a good guy is so I use the opportunity of the platform of The Marine – because the movie did reach a bunch of people – to genuinely, subtly, begin to change my character into more of a P.G. environment because those are the tools I’m dealt. I can do a butt chug scene if you put an ‘R’ on the movie but when you put a TV-PG on the show and you’re out there doing stuff that makes your audience feel uncomfortable, your career longevity is going to be nothing.

“So a lot of these guys today also want to do all the things we’re not supposed to do. That’s not being a good mechanic. You take the tools that you have to fix the problems in front and everybody’s like, hey, would you bring back the rap guy? It would bomb right now. It would bomb. One, because all those punch lines are inappropriate. Especially, for now, they’re not P.G. so if I were to still come out in the outfit, I did, I managed to sneak one in against the Rock.

“Man, was it difficult to write those lines and I even had to say before I cut the promo, okay, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire so I’m sorry that I have to do this but it’s got to be done. I had to preface it with like earmuffs, kids, because it’s about to get pretty raw and even still meandering through all that I had a double entendre my way through something that I could possibly only do for one night, or it would not work right now. Neither would The Attitude Era.”

  • WWE Is Still Teasing John Cena vs. The Undertaker At WrestleMania 34

WWE Is Still Teasing John Cena vs. The Undertaker At WrestleMania 34

For several weeks now, WWE fans have been wondering when the WWE will announce that John Cena would face The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34.

As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW in Atlanta, GA at the Philips Arena on the USA Network, Cena once again issued the challenge to “The Deadman” for a match at the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company.

Many fans of the WWE thought that with this episode being the go-home edition of WrestleMania 34 for the RAW brand, Taker would make an appearance and accept the challenge. However, that wasn’t the case.

Over the past few years, he has gone from being a full-time talent to a part-timer. After years of speculation of when Taker would retire from pro wrestling, it appeared that he had his farewell at WrestleMania 33 in the main event against Roman Reigns last year in Orlando, Florida. After the match, Taker put his gloves and hat in the middle of the ring before leaving.

Taker was last seen on WWE television back in January during the RAW 25 Anniversary episode where he cut a promo in the ring about how he has beaten everyone that there is to beat. Cena vs. Taker will reportedly take place at WrestleMania with the WWE announcing the match during the show.

Here is an excerpt from the teaser that the sports entertainment company posted on their official website:

“Will The Undertaker return to battle John Cena at WrestleMania?

After coming up short in several attempts to secure a WrestleMania bout, including the Royal Rumble Match, a career-altering contest inside Elimination Chamber and a WWE Championship Six-Pack Challenge Match at WWE Fastlane, John Cena has seen his Road to WrestleMania hit a dead end.

However, before accepting his fate and preparing to go to The Showcase of the Immortals as a member of the WWE Universe, The Leader of the Cenation decided to exhaust one more option and challenged The Undertaker to a one-on-one match on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

So, what now for Cena? With The Undertaker offering no answer to his challenge, perhaps the showdown between the two iconic Superstars is simply not meant to be. Is Cena destined to experience this year’s Showcase of The Immortals as a spectator? Will he aid another Superstar to victory or perhaps offer his expert knowledge of The Grandest Stage of Them All as a guest commentator? Or, is there still a chance that a match between John Cena and The Undertaker may take place? Find out this Sunday at WrestleMania, streaming live on WWE Network at a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT”

WrestleMania 34 is set to be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This event airs on pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network. It’s the most successful and longest-running professional wrestling event in history.

  • John Cena Hypes Tonight’s RAW, Teases Return Of “The American Badass”

John Cena Hypes Tonight’s RAW, Teases Return Of “The American Badass”

If The Undertaker is ever going to respond to John Cena’s WrestleMania 34 challenge, tonight’s the night to do it.

For the past several weeks The Leader Of The Cenation has attempted to lure The Deadman out and accept his challenge, however, Undertaker has remained radio silent on the matter.

Cena has verbally attacked Undertaker on the microphone week after week on RAW, and has even fired off a few shots at him on social media as well. He recently took to Twitter to promote tonight’s episode of RAW, continuing to use the hashtag #DoSomething:

Cena also referenced the rumors going around that Taker could return under his American Badass gimmick. With the fact that Kid Rock, who sang Undertaker’s American Badass theme back in the early 2000s, is going into the celebrity wing of the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame this weekend – speculation has continued to run rampant.

With that being said, Cena decided to post an Instagram photo of some American Badass gear:
