John Cena Teasing He’ll Be At RAW Tonight

It looks like John Cena will be returning to WWE television for tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW from Brooklyn, New York. With just 6 days to go until WrestleMania, Cena is taking a break from his physical rehabilitation and will be appearing on NBC’s Today show on Monday morning. As for where he’ll be tonight:

Cena has been off WWE television since undergoing shoulder surgery in early January. He’s been documenting his road to recovery and worked his ass off hoping to ‘defy science’ and return to the ring in time for WrestleMania. He wasn’t able to get medically cleared in time to compete, but it wouldn’t be WrestleMania without John Cena being there in some capacity.

John Cena Teasing WrestleMania Appearance, Surreal ‘WWE Nitro’ Entrance Video

– WWE created a pretty surreal video of what the WCW Nitro opening video would have looked like if WWE had lost the Monday Night War and WCW acquired WWE’s talent.

– Japanese wrestling sensation Shinsuke Nakamura will have new theme music when he debuts for NXT in less than one week at Takeover: Dallas. According to Yahoo! Japan, Nakamura is very happy with his WWE entrance theme.

– Even though he won’t be returning to the ring any time soon, John Cena continues to tease that he will be appearing at WrestleMania 32 next weekend in some capacity.

Update On Cena’s Return, Big Names Scheduled For WrestleMania

– While it seems likely that John Cena will appear at WrestleMania 32 in some capacity, the 15-time WWE World Heavyweight champion is not expected back in the ring any time soon. After undergoing shoulder surgery back in January, the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Cena isn’t expected to be medically cleared to wrestle until July. Cena recently hit the 350-hour mark in his physical rehabilitation. WWE Battleground takes place on July 24th, so he could be back by then in order to be part of SummerSlam the following month.

– WWE has not yet revealed what The Rock, Shawn Michaels & Steve Austin’s roles will be at WrestleMania, but all three are locked in for the show. There hasn’t been any mention of their WrestleMania appearances on WWE TV since January, other than a 30-second video package. It was originally believed they would need names lke Austin and Michaels to sell tickets for the April 3rd event, but they’re already almost sold out.

– WWE has informed pay-per-view providers that WrestleMania 32 could run until as late at 11:20 PM ET. The usual cut off time from the PPV providers is 11:00 PM.

John Cena Burger & Taco: Mexico’s Unauthorized WWE-Themed Restaurant (Photos)

Several readers sent word that there’s a restaurant in Monterrey, Mexico named “John Cena Burger & Taco.”  The restaurant is obviously not affiliated with WWE. Menu items are named named after Cena, Batista, The Great Khali, Kane, Umaga and others. Despite the flagrant trademark violations, they have a decent 6.9 out of 10 rating on Foursquare.

Vince McMahon: John Cena Is WWE’s Babe Ruth

Vince McMahon has high praises for currently-injured former WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena. In an interview with Brian Fritz of the Orlando Sentinel, McMahon talked about Cena missing this year’s WrestleMania, saying he’s a “real warrior.”

“John is Babe Ruth, he’s everything to us. And a real warrior,” McMahon said after Tuesday’s WrestleMania 33 press conference. “I don’t know how long he’s going to pursue this … I don’t know if it’s going to be 70 like me, but he’ll try.

It’s just in him and he loves it so much, even when he was a little kid. I don’t know if you’ve seen some of the videos where he’d have a mini-championship belt made out of cardboard and all that kind of stuff. And on top of it, he’s a hell of a guy.”

Cena, who underwent shoulder surgery back in January, confirmed this week that he will not be competing at WrestleMania 32.

John Cena Confirms He Will Not Compete At WrestleMania 32

At Tuesday’s WrestleMania 33 press conference from Orlando, FL, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena commented on his status for the biggest pay-per-view of the year. Despite his best efforts to defy science and prove his doctors wrong, Cena revealed that he will not be able to get medically cleared in time for April 3rd.

“For the first time in a decade in a half, this year I will be watching and not wrestling at WrestleMania … WrestleMania means the world to me.”

Cena underwent shoulder surgery back in January to repair a torn rotator cuff.

John Cena Teasing A Big Announcement This Week

As he continues to rehabilitate his shoulder following surgery back in January, John Cena is teasing some “VERY BIG” news for this week. The 15-time World Champion has been posting cryptic yet optimistic messages on social media, leading many to believe he’s talking about returning to action in time for WrestleMania.

Cena has been training like a mad man, undergoing 8-9 hours of physical therapy every single day. We’ll find out soon enough if he was able to “defy science” and achieve the impossible.

Steve Austin Urges John Cena Not To Rush His Recovery From Shoulder Surgery

John Cena continues to rehabilitate his surgically-repaired shoulder in hopes of “defying science” and returning in time for WrestleMania 32. On last week’s episode of the Steve Austin Show, ‘ol Stone Cold urged Cena not to rush back too soon.

“I don’t know how long John would like to wrestle, but as long as he wants to, I wouldn’t rush to come back from injury too early because, man, that dude’s a stud in the gym.

His healing powers are phenomenal, but just don’t try to rush this thing back because it’s the shoulder and shoulders are tricky and it isn’t the time or place to try to jeopardize if you want another couple year run.”

Cena underwent surgery back on January 7th at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Dugas told WWE.com at the time,

“He had a complete tear of a small portion of the rear rotator cuff tendon, the infraspinatus — toward the top-back of his shoulder — which I repaired. Also, there was a large piece of loose tissue in his shoulder that needed to be removed.”

John Cena Checks In, References The Bullet Club

John Cena checked in on Twitter this morning with his latest inspiration message. It’s hard to not relate his recent tweets to his recovery from shoulder surgery and his efforts to return in time for WrestleMania.

Cena also posted the following on his Instagram page, which is known for puzzling random photos, memes and trolling. For those unaware, Biz Cliz is slang for Bullet Club. Following the WWE debut of former Bullet Club leader AJ Styles, former members Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson are expected to be joining WWE soon. They said farewell to New Japan Pro Wrestling two weeks ago at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s New Beginning show.

John Cena Hoping To Defy Science With His Recovery From Surgery

– John Cena tweeted the following on Monday morning, noting that he continues to work 12 hours a day to ‘defy science.’ It appears that Cena is talking about returning to action in time for WrestleMania, which would be a miraculous recovery period following shoulder surgery, even for John Cena.

– Brie Bella wore Daniel Bryan’s WrestleMania XXX kickpads for her Divas championship match against Charlotte last night at Fastlane tonight. Unfortunately for Brie, her husband’s kickpads were not enough to get her a win against Charlotte. Backstage after the show, Brie spoke about the match, noting that she still has her pride and dignity even though she didn’t win the title.

John Cena Talks About His Status For WrestleMania 32

John Cena recently spoke with FOX Sports about his status for WrestleMania 32. “Percentage-wise, I’m somewhere between zero and 100,” Cena said. “That’s a safe estimation for me. As far as me participating in WrestleMania 32, the Magic 8-Ball says ‘ask again later,’” Cena joked.

Cena continued, “But if I can’t perform, it would be unfortunate for the people watching WrestleMania to see me suffer through something that isn’t worthy of the event. I take a very unselfish approach to my job and what I do because people spend their hard-earned money to enjoy what we do,” added Cena.

If he is unable to return by WrestleMania, Cena knows there is always next year and the year after that.

“And our goal is to deliver the best show possible. If I can contribute to that, great. If I can’t then, it not helping any of fans … we’ll see how it works. I know there will be a WrestleMania 33 and 34 and 35,” said Cena. “And hopefully, 100.”

Editorial: John Cena Should Not Return For WrestleMania 32

If John Cena knows what is best for him, he won’t return to the WWE before WrestleMania 32.

No, that’s not a threat.

If anything, it’s just a suggestion. As a WWE fan, it’s the duty of all to care about the wrestlers in the ring and their health outside of it. That thought process came to a head when Daniel Bryan retired from the WWE on Raw over a week ago.

As fans, the immediate need to be selfish and want WWE stars to never retire always comes into play. However, health does come first and for Bryan, he realized that before it was too late. The same thing can start to be said about Cena.

The former-Dr. of Thugonomics is currently trying to come back from torn rotator cuff surgery. At it’s simplest form, that type of surgery is routine and normally takes 4-6 months to recover from. A running joke going around the Internet Wrestling Community is that Cena should’ve returned to the WWE already.

Is it actually a joke?

It’s becoming less funny and more serious after a tweet from Cena yesterday that began speculation of an early return for WrestleMania 32.

WWE fans’ theories aside, this could’ve been a tweet about his rehab and perhaps he’s trying to reach a milestone. As one fan pointed out yesterday, this could’ve easily meant he may propose to Nikki Bella, his long-time girlfriend.

Cena sent out that tweet knowing full-well what WWE fans would immediately believe upon reading it. The West Newbury, Massachusetts-native was exactly right and now wrestling enthusiasts across the world are wondering if he’ll return for WrestleMania 32.

Does Cena need to return for the Grandaddy of Them All?

Last night on Monday Night Raw, the WWE made Fast Lane infinitely more interesting with one match and a brief moment in the ring. Dean Ambrose began the show with an altercation that included Stephanie McMahon

She announced a Fatal-5 Way match for the Intercontinental title. If Roman Reigns were to interfere, Ambrose would’ve been disqualified and he couldn’t partake in the no.1 contender match at Fast Lane for the WWE championship.

Both men obliged Ambrose lost his championship to Kevin Owens in an exciting bout to open the show. However, that didn’t make the Lunatic Fringe particularly happy. Later on, the WWE Universe would find that out.

In the top of the third hour, Reigns and Paul Heyman were engaged in a war with words. As soon as Heyman left the ring, after saying Reigns would be forced to choose between his family and Ambrose, the Dudley Boyz assaulted Reigns from behind.

Moments later, Ambrose hit the ring for the save and the former-Shield members ran rough shot on Bubba Ray and Devon. It didn’t take long for WWE to tease the entire wrestling world in three seconds.

Ambrose grabbed Reigns and was about to hit the Dirty Deeds before the former-WWE champion spun out of it, and the two stared down for what felt like an eternity.

As this all comes full circle, it makes WWE Fast Lane mean more. If Ambrose still had the Intercontinental belt, he’d have no chance of winning on Sunday. Even worse, the fans would know that he had no chance. Brock Lesnar isn’t going to win, so now it’s down to Ambrose or Reigns.

All of that being, John Cena doesn’t have to return to WWE before WrestleMania.

It’s always going to be a subjective matter, but the WWE has plenty of stars to fill the void until he comes back. Best case scenario: Bray Wyatt interferes at Fast Lane and he gets a huge match against Lesnar at WrestleMania.

Ambrose and Reigns will get put in a high-profile match at WrestleMania regardless of who’s in the main event with Triple H. The New Day, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, the Dudley Boyz, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens and the Undertaker will get booked for quality matches at WrestleMania. That doesn’t even include AJ Styles or the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Cena may be a medical marvel, but that doesn’t mean he has to press his luck once again to return to the WWE. It’s his prerogative, so if Cena thinks he can return, then let him. He’ll only help sell more merchandise and promote WrestleMania.

After Bryan’s retirement, the WWE will undoubtedly focus on injuries and keeping wrestlers safe from this point forward; even more so than before.

Cena’s less than two months from torn rotator cuff surgery. When it comes time for WrestleMania 32, he’ll have missed less than three months of action. Torn rotator cuffs usually take 4-6 months to recover.

If John Cena knows what is best for him, he won’t return for WrestleMania 32.

John Cena Teasing An Early Return From Injury

John Cena tweeted the following on Monday morning about taking ‘risky action’ and ‘lacing up’ again soon.

The 15-time World champion underwent shoulder surgery last month and has increasing the intensity of his workouts (as seen below). A return in time to compete at WrestleMania 32 would be aggressive even by John Cena standards, but he’s defied expectations before.

Cena had been slated to wrestle The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 before he went down with the injury. Now that it looks like Undertaker vs. Braun Strowman is almost certainly not happening, there’s a glimmer of hope that Cena vs. Taker could take place at AT&T Stadium.

Roman Reigns Says The Rock Better Stay Away From Him In The Ring

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns spoke with The Times of India to promote this past week’s live events in New Delhi, where he replaced John Cena as the face of the tour. He was asked how it feels to fill the shoes of the world’s most popular wrestler.

“It’s a great honor. John Cena has been the standard-bearer of professional wrestling for the past 10-12 years, and to follow in his footsteps is a great opportunity. I just want to give my best and represent my family and my people,” said Reigns.

“It’s unfortunate that John couldn’t be here because of the injury and we all hope he will be fit again soon. I for one, can’t wait to square off against him. But then, you have to remember that I’m the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. There is a certain weight to that, a certain standard. Like John used to say, ‘The champ is here and in the end, that’s all that matters!'”

Reigns was also asked if he expects Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to challenge him for the title at WrestleMania 32.

“I expect The Rock would want to keep his pretty face intact for Hollywood. He better stay away from me in the ring,” Reigns said. “But honestly, anybody who wants to get into the ring with me and take the world title, just try!”

Reigns also discussed his rivalry with Big Show, visiting India for the first time, WWE matches being scripted and more. You can check out the interview here.

Total Divas Preview Videos: John Cena, Nikki Bella, & Dolph Ziggler Drama; Daniel Bryan Makes Jelly

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXOgVF_v580

Total Divas is back this Tuesday (January 19th) at 9:00 p.m. ET on E! Entertainment Television, which means that WWE has started to push out all sorts of promotional material for the show’s season premiere. For example, Paige revealing that she has a concussion was part of an interview promoting the premiere, E! is running more Total Divas content on their website again, and even In Touch Weekly’s website got in on the act by featuring a Rosa Mendes baby bump photo. Of course, it also means that WWE has released preview clips for the episode on their YouTube channel.

In the first clip, Brie Bella/Brianna Danielson (remember, Total Divas is weird about names) and husband Daniel Bryan/Bryan Danielson talk to someone about some business proposal of her’s. Somehow, Bryan’s gardening and jelly/jam-making hobby play into this. In the brief clip, he does talk about how there’s now the possibility that he may be done wrestling.

Then there’s the resolution to last season’s cliffhanger, as Dolph Ziggler/Nick Nemeth says he could give Nikki Bella/Nicole Garcia-Colace babies and marriage if they got back together. Then he tries to kiss her in front of her and John Cena’s bus. This does not go well.

Later, she finally tells Cena. It looks like it may not go well, but they cut it off before “it gets good.” I guess we’ll have to tune in to find out what happens next, unfortunately.

John Cena Closing In On $10 Million A Year In WWE, Batista Argues With WWE Fan, More

– The latest edition of WWE’s “This Week In WWE” YouTube segment, which you can view above, looks at the debut edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, where The Undertaker took on Damien Demento in the main event.

– John Cena is reportedly closing in on earning $10 million per year from WWE, according to a post written by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com. The $10 million annual salary certainly puts Cena, who has had a rare run of over a decade in a main event position in the company, in a very elite class in terms of others who have earned money at that level from WWE.

– While out in Hollywood achieving success few WWE Superstars have ever had, Batista still manages to find time to engage in social media beefs with pro wrestling fans, as he recently had an exchange with a fan who got in a one-liner on him. A fan asked “The Animal” what role he would play if he was in the Titanic movie, to which Batista sarcastically replied, “The ship.” The fan then responded, “So just like your WWE career, you’d sink.” This led to a defensive Batista posting the following tweet listing his WWE credentials before closing with a quick dig at the fan.
