Former TNA Knockout Taryn Terrell is also featured in a small role in the movie, playing a cheerleader who gets hit in the face with a basketball by Ferrell during the game.

John Cena Taking More Time Off After Royal Rumble

Although it won’t be long after he will have returned from his current hiatus from the WWE television and live event schedule, veteran WWE Superstar John Cena has already been given time off from live events after the WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 24th. Cena isn’t scheduled to return on the road with WWE for non-televised shows until the company’s European tour, which kicks off on February 10th.

During his absence from WWE, Cena has been filming the new military-themed competition show “American Grit” for FOX and doing the media rounds promoting his role in the Amy Poehler and Tiny Fey comedy “Sisters.” This week alone, Cena has appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” “The Today Show” and the red carpet premiere of the aforementioned “Sisters.”

Videos: John Cena On The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon (12/8)

John Cena appeared on the NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy on Tuesday to promote his new movie, Sisters. Cena told Jimmy he’s doing a great job since taking over The Tonight Show. Fallon asked Cena if he has been relaxing during his time off from WWE. Cena says he’s actually been keeping extremely busy with his new show American Grit.

Cena talked about getting into weight training when he was 12 years after being encouraged by his grandfather. Cena said lifting weights built his confidence and eventually he got into bodybuilding competitions. Fallon joked that their lives were so similar. Fallon showed a photo of a 21-year-old Cena at a bodybuilding competition and Cena joked how he’s still taking his clothes off and getting oiled up for a living. Cena hyped the movie Sisters and Fallon complimented him for his work in Trainwreck.

Cena wound up singing a verse from Adele’s “Hello” with the wrong lyrics and gave an Attitude Adjustment to his “inner child” (watch and see).

Chris Jericho Sign Confiscated Last Night, Kevin Sullivan On The Ross Report

– For whatever reason, a fan in attendance at the WWE Tribute To The Troops and SmackDown tapings in Jacksonville, Florida on Tuesday night had his Chris Jericho sign confiscated by security. Jericho ended up responding to a tweet about the fan having his sign taken away. He wrote the following basic response:

– This week’s edition of WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross’ “Ross Report” podcast features part two of his excellent interview with former WCW booker Kevin Sullivan. The official description for the episode, which you download right now at PodcastOne.com, reads as follows:

“Kevin Sullivan returns to talk about his booking days at WCW, Brock Lesnar, how he’d change today’s wrestling product, whether there’d be a Stone Cold Steve Austin if there hadn’t been a Brian Pillman, and the murder of his ex-wife Nancy Benoit & her son, and the suicide of her then husband, Chris Benoit.”

John Cena Speaks Out About Donald Trump During Today Show Appearance

In an interesting move since he tends to try to go out of his way to keep from offending anyone, John Cena got political on NBC’s The Today Show this morning. He was asked for his thoughts on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s various comments on American Muslims, which included positive references to Japanese internment camps during World War II. During a roundtable discussion, Cena said this:

This is brash, this is bold, and this is brash. I’m with you, I don’t know how it works out. The last time we did anything like this was in World War II, and that was one of the more reprehensible acts by the United States of America. “We are the melting pot, except for you.” That does not go along with our DNA. Trump is being trumped, there’s no other way to say it.

After I talk to you guys … this is the only song I dance to, and I’m saving a dance for her.”

Fans Leave RAW Before The Final Segment, How To Voice Your Dissatisfaction To WWE

Last night’s episode of RAW is getting an overwhelmingly negative reaction from fans on social media. There are various reports going around that fans were leaving the arena prior to the final segment of RAW. With WWE RAW viewership taking a nosedive in recent months, you would think/hope that WWE would do some soul searching and seriously consider overhauling the product from top to bottom. Based on what we saw last night, it could very well get worse before it gets better.

Former WWE & WCW Superstar Shane Helms, who has seen his fair share of ups and downs in the wrestling business, gave his perspective on the quality of WWE programming these days:

Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch tweeted that fans can send their thoughts about the WWE product to Fanservices@WWEcorp.com.

Luke Harper On The Wyatt Family Adding A Creepy Female, Getting Yelled At By Vince

WWE Superstar and Wyatt Family member Luke Harper recently appeared as a guest on Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast and spoke about getting yelled at by Vince McMahon, what he feels should be done with The Wyatt Family and more.

During the interview, The Wyatt Family member spoke about getting yelled at by Vince McMahon the night he won the I-C title due to not using a Southern accent in his pre-match promo.

“I won the Intercontinental title, I beat Ziggler for it. Yeah, I thought it was great. I thought everything was good. [I] came to the back and Vince yelled at me because I didn’t speak in a southern accent, so [it] kind of put a damper on things for a little bit.” Harper added, “I had to say, ‘I’m a team player’ [in the prematch promo], but I had to say it southern because that was his vision of me and it might still be. I hope not. Yes, and our vision of it is our people come from everywhere. [Bray Wyatt’s] message is nationwide. He’s from the bayou, but us, his followers, aren’t necessarily. We kind of pick and choose where he got us.”

He also spoke about his feeling that he didn’t get a fair run with the Intercontinental Title.

“I was pissed because I thought I didn’t get a fair run with [the title], really. I hadn’t really done anything with it.” Harper continued, “I thought ‘this is bulls–t.’ So I remember talking to Dolph and I said, ‘hey man, I want to do something special here because I’m pissed.’ It was in Cleveland [Ohio], his hometown, so it was, like, again, a perfect storm of stuff.”

Harper also revealed some advice he received from John Cena after he lost the I-C strap.

“I was told by one of the top guys in the [professional wrestling] business, John Cena, that if you have an at bat and you hit a double or something or you hit a single, you’ll get another at bat, so that [has] always been my mindset now. When I get the ball, do what I can with it. Control what I can control. And if I can go out there and do something special, then, that makes them happy and it makes everybody happy, I’ll get another at bat.”

Finally, Harper touched on what he feels should be done with the Wyatt Family faction, agreeing with Jericho that they should add a “creepy girl” to the mix.

“New blood. I’ve always said that, I thought with a cult like that, we should always have kind of [new members joining] and [grow] bigger.” Harper continued, “I think [adding a woman] gives us more diverse things and more ways to go instead of just saying, ‘hey, we’re going to beat you up.'”

Kevin Owens On Wanting To Face Brock Lesnar, His Son Cheering John Cena

WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens recently spoke to the Like Father, Like Son podcast about a number of topics. Below are some of the highlights.

On who he wants at WrestleMania:

“I’ve answered this question a couple of times and my answer is always Brock Lesnar, because I’d just love to be in the ring with him and see what it’s like. There’s nobody quite like Brock Lesnar, as far as pure strength and viciousness and everything. I’d love to see if I could hang with him and see how much I could hurt him. I’d love to get in the ring with The Undertaker one day, too. I feel like that’s a long shot, I guess, because he wrestles on a limited basis and when he does, it’s always a huge deal. But, hopefully I can position myself in the next year or so to be seen as a viable opponent for the Undertaker, because it would be a thrill to be in the ring with him at WrestleMania or anywhere. It can be on a Raw or a live event, I don’t really care. I’d just love to be in the ring with him. I feel like that would be an experience I’d never forget.”

On his son cheering for John Cena:

“I think he was pretty split honestly. He’s always been a big John Cena fan, but all of a sudden he’s against his dad. I think he kind feels like he can’t cheer against me, but at the same time he wants me to do good, so I think he was pretty split down the middle and maybe a bit conflicted. But he’s met John, and he and John known each other. They have this little thing they share together.”

WrestleMania 32 Updates: Sting’s Status, Undertaker vs. John Cena, Triple H

As of a week or two ago, there had been no real internal talk within WWE about booking Sting vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 in Texas next year. In fact, there hasn’t been any real talk of Sting appearing on the show at all, even though that doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t end up appearing at the show.

As far as The Undertaker is concerned, it appears that WWE is going forward with the plans for an Undertaker vs. John Cena match at WrestleMania 32. The idea of Undertaker vs. Cena came up a few months ago and was seriously discussed in August, and then again in October.

As far as rumors of Seth Rollins vs. Triple H taking place at the big event, it’s said that a match between those two has never actually been considered for WrestleMania, although it’s possible that a HHH vs. Rollins match eventually happens when Rollins returns at some point down the line.

Currently, there is no word yet as to who Triple H will be facing at WrestleMania 32 now that it appears that The Rock will not be able to wrestle on the show as WWE had originally hoped.

Rey Mysterio vs. Johnny Mundo To Determine Next AAA Mega Heavyweight Champion On 12/4

AAA will crown a new Mega Heavyweight Champion at the Guerra de Titanes event on December 4th at Feria de Tampico in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

John Cena Talks About His Time Away From WWE Creating Opportunity For Others

John Cena recently spoke to Zap2It.com about his decision to take extended time off from WWE to film American Grit, a military-themed reality competition that will air on the Fox network in 2016. Despite the fact that he’s put over countless people over the years, his perennial spot at the top of WWE has led to strong backlash from fans who feel he overshadows everyone else. Cena says his absence has created an opportunity for today’s young talent:

“I’ve been a cornerstone of WWE programming since 2002. That’s a long time, it’s more than 10 years. So much so that a portion of our audience has direct complacency with me. ‘Man, Cena holds everybody down. He doesn’t give the new guys a chance.’”

“From a company perspective, as you know I hold it very near and dear to my heart, the dance floor is open, boys,” he explains. “I’m gone, let’s see who steps up. And I like that. As much as I want to try to distance myself or as much as someone who views me would try to distance myself from WWE, I’m never going to go.”

He added that his time away from the ring “gives our young thoroughbreds a chance to run on the track a little bit, but also lets them know I’m hot on their heels.”
