Later in the show, Cena was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with Lee, which led to her resigning as Raw General Manager.

– Two matches were taped Monday night in East Rutherford, New Jersey for this week’s episode of WWE Superstars:

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin Says Sheamus Isn’t Ready To Be Champion Yet, John Cena’s European Tour Status

– “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, who writes a column for Fighting Spirit Magazine, offered his opinion on reigning World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus during a recent issue while discussing WWE’s World Titles and how their importance level has never been lower. Though Austin considers the Irish grappler talented, he doesn’t feel Sheamus is ready to be champion.

Austin wrote, “Sheamus is a big talented dude, no doubt about it. Can he get to where the company wants him to go? That remains to be seen, and there’s a lot of work required from both him and the company in order to jump to that superstar level. He’s doing fine for the amount of time he’s been in the business, and there is no disrespect intended, but there are so many aspects that go towards making a guy draw money with the title.”

Austin also remarked that the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championships should be unified as soon as possible. An article on Austin’s comments is available here.

– John Cena, who is currently nursing an arm injury after undergoing surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow on Sept. 18, tweeted Thursday on whether he will take part in WWE’s tour of Europe kicking off Oct. 31 in Strasbourg, France.

WWE Looks At John Cena Passing The Torch To Ryback, AJ Wants To Wrestle At WM29

WWE.com has an article up questioning whether John Cena “passed the torch” to Ryback on Monday’s WWE RAW by leading the crowd in a “Feed Me More” chant and endorsing Ryback as CM Punk’s opponent at Hell in a Cell:

“Ryback, who has been nothing short of a force of nature since his arrival in April, now carries the weight of the WWE Universe on his broad shoulders. Handed to him by Cena — a 10-time WWE Champion — Ryback also carries with him the hopes and dreams of an entire locker room. Whether it’s because Cena isn’t yet healthy enough to do battle, or perhaps because the Cenation leader sees something special in the rising Superstar, the burden is now on Ryback to answer the call.

Few have been afforded the opportunity to challenge for WWE Championship gold; fewer still have claimed it. Standing now at the precipice of greatness, when Hell in a Cell descends on Ryback and Punk come Oct. 28, will Ryback live up to the enormous expectations thrust upon him by Cena and carry that torch to a title reign?”

DISCUSSION: Comment below and tell us what you thought about John Cena putting Ryback over on Monday’s RAW. Is it too soon to put the WWE Championship on Ryback, is that exactly what he needs to complete his monster push and establish him as WWE’s top new babyface?

– WWE RAW General Manager AJ Lee was recently interviewed by Trentonian.com to promote next week’s RAW from New Jersey. AJ, a New Jersey native, once again stated that she hopes to wrestle in front of her home town crowd next April at WrestleMania:

AJ said she’d book herself in a Divas title match against Eve Torres.

John Cena Teases A Rematch With The Rock: “I Really Want To Beat Him”

Larry King interviewed several WWE superstars backstage at last week’s RAW from Sacramento for his new Hulu series, including John Cena, CM Punk, Zack Ryder, Big Show, and Miz.

One of the more noteworthy quotes from the interview came from John Cena, who talked about feeling better [physically] now than at age 20 and said he’ll wrestle until age 60 if he can. Larry King asked Cena who his favorite opponent is and he answered, The Rock. Cena says “He’s my favorite opponent because I really want to beat him.” Larry King asked Cena if The Rock is a good guy and Cena hesitated, then laughed. He said The Rock was a great football player, he’s a great actor and entertainer, “.. but I want to beat him.”

A rematch between John Cena and The Rock has been rumored for WrestleMania, with The Rock expected to win the WWE Championship from whoever he faces at the Royal Rumble.

Adam Copeland Says He’s No Longer Edge, Update On Beth Phoenix, John Cena

– Adam Copeland stated during a radio interview in his native Ontario, Canada that he is no longer permitted to use the “Edge” name for public appearances since he is no longer affiliated with WWE.

“For me, Edge was just a character. I never introduced myself as (Edge). I never really worried about what people can advertise me as. It doesn’t really matter to me. I’ve always just introduced myself as Adam Copeland. I never really thought too much about it”, Copeland said in the interview.

“I think if I would have wrestled another five or seven years, I would have regrets. At this point, the rest of my body feels great. Once I get the surgery and they take the pressure off of my spinal cord, I’m going to feel like a million bucks. I feel better than most wrestlers my age; most of those guys are walking like Boris Karloff, while I’m able to run laps! I kind of look at it and go, ‘Yeah, I think this happened for a reason.’ From a physical standpoint, this is the healthiest I’ve ever felt.”

Visit FightingSpiritMagazine.co.uk for more information.

– Beth Phoenix, who is expected to part ways with WWE this month after giving notice, is no longer advertised for any upcoming events on the company website (with the exception of the Royal Rumble, which was posted months ago and has not been changed).

John Cena To Be NY Jets’ Team Captain This Sunday, Ryder Says His Show Will Suck This Week

– Zack Ryder noted on Twitter that he submitted Episode 88 of his Z! True Long Island story and if WWE doesn’t edit the episode, it’s going to blow our minds. A couple hours later, he followed up with another tweet saying WWE rejected his submission and thus, this week’s episode “will suck.”

– John Cena will be the honorary team captain for the NFL’s New York Jets this Sunday when they play the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium (home of WrestleMania 29). Cena is still rehabbing his elbow injury and won’t be appearing at this weekend’s WWE live events.

– Speaking of Cena, WWE.com has an article up explaining the black “Kinesio Tape” we saw on his elbow on RAW. Chris Arrigo of Advanced Rehabilitation told WWE:

“It basically does two or three main things. It helps reduce pain … eliminate swelling under the skin and helps support the muscles and joints for improved, pain-free movement. The tape lifts the skin to promote the flow of lymphatic fluid, which helps reduce associated swelling.”

John Cena’s Elbow Healing Slower Than Expected & His Potential Role At HIAC

– John Cena was in New York City last night at the 10th Annual 2012 IMG Sports Marketing Symposium at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. He was there representing WWE and spoke about the importance of social media and fan interaction.

– John Cena’s surgically repaired elbow is recovering slower than expected, according to PWInsider.com. After returning to RAW on Monday, he’s now back on television full time.

If Cena is unable to wrestle CM Punk at Hell in a Cell, it’s been discussed that he could could be the guest referee of Punk vs. Ryback.

CM Punk’s matches with Ryback that are taking place at this weekend’s WWE live events would be a run-through of what their Hell in a Cell match would be.

This includes the main event of WWE Hell in a Cell, which will be CM Punk vs. Ryback if Cena isn’t healthy by then.

– As for John Cena’s recovery from elbow surgery, he still has very limited use of the arm. The surgery was more extensive than originally expected.

Cena is doing everything he can to be ready for Hell In a Cell and a decision will be made this week as to whether he will be ready in time.

The Latest On A Possible John Cena vs. The Rock Rematch, WM29 Plans

WWE is currently planning out the top matches at WrestleMania 29.

SmackDown writer Michael Hayes has reportedly been pushing for a John Cena vs. The Rock rematch at WrestleMania 29, despite last year’s dream match being billed as “Once in a Lifetime.” This scenario would involve The Rock defeating CM Punk for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble and then defending against Royal Rumble winner John Cena in April.

Not everybody is on board with the idea of Cena vs. Rock II. While The Rock is committed to work at the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 29, it’s unknown if he’ll ever wrestle again after that – and WWE might be better off using The Rock for another high-profile match against a fresh opponent to get the most out of him.

Overall, WWE is really looking to make the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania blockbuster events.

He didn’t even bother asking permission of his boss, ECW Owner Tod Gordon (who ended up asking me who the hell I was and what I was doing in his locker room while catching me in my underwear changing into my suit),” Styles writes. “Regardless of that humiliating incident that was the reason I switched from “tightie whities” to boxer briefs, three months later, when Paul became the Creative Director and Executive Producer (we used the term Booker back then because there was an actual book of upcoming wrestling cards that was constantly updated), the first thing he did was make me “The Voice of ECW.”

“That’s right, Paul started his dream career as a professional wrestling Booker with the entire industry watching him and most people routing for him to fail by letting an unknown 21 year old announcer host his weekly television show.”
