Former Diva Explains Why John Morrison Isn’t Receiving A Push

Former WWE Divas Maria Kanellis and Lilian Garcia hosted the first edition of their post-Raw show for AfterBuzzTV.com last Monday night (streaming live every Monday night immediately following Raw at http://www.ustream.tv/afterbuzztv). Highlights from the broadcast are as follows:

* Last week’s Raw kicked off with Drew McIntyre competing in his first singles match on WWE’s flagship program in several months, against Randy Orton. The hosts pondered why the Scottish wrestler is not receiving a greater push considering that he possesses extraordinary talent.

Maria cryptically says, “I have a feeling he’s paid for someone else’s sins, problems, because Drew’s really good. I’d love to see him do more stuff, but it’s unfortunate that that happens.”

Another WWE Superstar in the same precarious situation is John Morrison, whose promotion has significantly leveled off since the spring. Lilian pondered later in the show, “I really wonder why he’s not getting a push?”

Maria explains, “I think it’s a lot of complications of outside stuff. I think that a lot of times they go with who’s going to be there, who’s always going to be there, who’s going to be the easiest. He’s very easy and I love him to pieces, but I think it’s outside complications. I think that’s why.”

* Lilian, who handled ring announcing duties for Raw for ten years, explained why it’s been difficult for her to watch the show since leaving WWE in 2009.

She says, “I actually really attempted to watch a show and my stomach was in knots. I did watch WrestleMania, and I tweeted along and it was great, the fans were tweeting right back, it ended up trending worldwide, it was crazy, it was awesome. However, just watching a regular Monday Night Raw, my stomach was in knots, and it was in knots tonight. It’s just that thing of, “Wow, I really did leave.”

“It was my part for ten years. It’s funny because it’s ten years and it seems like it was more because you live and breath it every single day and every single week. You don’t have any down time, and so it’s been hard to watch an episode.”

She continued, “So it’s not like I didn’t like it or didn’t want to, it’s really one of those things where it was sad that I left but at the same time I know I made the right decision.”

The complete show can be accessed here.

“I never get jealous when I see my ex with someone else, because my parents always taught me to give my used toys to the less fortunate.”

CM Punk Pays Tribute To Eddie Guerrero, Daniel Bryan Frustrated

— Following his victory over Alberto Del Rio at Saturday night’s Raw live event in El Paso, Texas, CM Punk paid tribute to the late Eddie Guerrero

Fans chanted “Eddie” with Punk to conclude the show.

Vickie Guerrero appeared at the event seeing as though it took place in her hometown. She accompanied Dolph Ziggler for his United States Championship Match against John Morrison and was jeered. A small “Eddie” chant broke out during the match.

Changes To WWE Creative, Edge Scheduled For Hell in a Cell

— WWE has changed the structure of their creative staff with a “home team” and “road team” initiative. Road teams will travel to each week’s television tapings while home teams will work at company headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut to develop future shows. — The official website of the New Orleans Arena is advertising Edge for next month’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event taking place October 2: “Witness the Superstars of both Raw and Smackdown live under the same roof for a PPV extravaganza live event featuring: John Cena, Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio, The Miz, Edge, Rey Mysterio, John Morrison, The Big Show and many more Superstars live!”

WWE paid tribute to the “Rated-R Superstar” following last night’s SmackDown taping in Toronto, Ontario with “Edge Appreciation Night.” He also hosted “The Cutting Edge” with World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton and Mark Henry during the taped show. He is also advertised for next Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Dayton, Ohio.

John Morrison Talks Melina, Punk, Triple H, Vince & More

During a recent interview with the London Free Press, RAW superstar John Morrison, who spoke about his feud with R-Truth,The Rock’s impact on the wrestling business and more. Morrison rightfully put himself over during the interview – giving credit to top stars like John Cena and CM Punk, but saying he has a lot of things they don’t have.

Morrison asked to play the “name association game” – and had this to say about the following WWE personalities:

Melina: “The most talented diva ever to be employed by WWE. She’s got charisma and sex appeal. But the main thing that sets her apart is she makes people feel when she’s in the ring … whether she’s angry, happy, surprised or pissed off. Whatever she feels, the audience feels that.”

CM Punk: “Opinionated.”

Triple H: “Ambitious, yet unproven.”

Randy Orton: “Bad Ass. It’s tough to sum him up with one word. He’s an anomaly. It seems as if he did everything a certain way because of who he is. But he’s charismatic. And he’s entertaining to watch. You can’t deny that.”

The Miz: “Really, really loud and annoying. Yet deceivingly loyal to his friends.”

Vince McMahon: “A supertalented workaholic. Micromanager. A perfectionist who expects the same from his employees.”

Melina Says She Can’t Be Blamed For Other People Anymore

An article was posted Sunday on BleacherReport.com in defense of recently released WWE Diva Melina regarding her history of rumored backstage indiscretions. The author of the article feels people shouldn’t scrutinize the former Women’s Champion so harshly since she’s only human. The author adds further that many of disparaging things written about her online are merely rumors.

Melina wrote in response, “It’s the price of being in the public eye I guess. But I still wish it would stop. It’s refreshing to see people realize that things don’t add up. They don’t because it’s not true. I just want to be able to live a happy life. Have others around me be happy as well.”

“There are always going to be bad things happening. Bullies, rumors and heaven forbid, tragedies but now I can’t be blamed for others… At least not for pushes and stuff. At least there shouldn’t be. I just want a good and happy life with the one I love. That’s all I ever wanted. I still pray for the happily ever after. Always will. I may not get handed the most simple & perfect cards in life but I’ll keep on going… I know it will get better. If only life was as perfect & clean cut like the movies.”

Melina, meanwhile, continues to travel with John Morrison. She was near the venue of tonight’s Raw in San Diego, California and indicated on Twitter that she hung out with a fan before the event.

Details On Melina Being Barred From Raw, Heat On Morrison

As reported Tuesday, WWE barred Melina Perez from attending Monday’s Raw event at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. WWE officials made the decision ban the former Women’s Champion from the arena due to their belief that should she have entered the backstage area, there would have been some major drama in response to her being let go by the organization last Friday. The entire company security team was told she was not to be let inside the venue. Management has taken Perez’ reaction to being released as over the top, according to one source, to the point that she may have burned the bridge in regard to a future return.

Perez going on the road with John Morrison over the weekend was also a major point of contention internally. Company officials are very down on Morrison over the situation, feeling it was a massive breach of etiquette. One writer said, “It would be one thing to come visit a few months down the line but to show up at the next shows after being released, it’s a complete lack of understanding and respect. It sucks you are fired but you don’t come see the boyfriend that dumped you the next day and you don’t go to the office to hang out after getting your pink slip. She did that and made eyes roll. There were some worried she was going to physically cause a problem and with John facilitating that by having her there, well, you saw what happened on Raw.”

The same source indicated that Morrison’s current WWE contract will expire within the next several months. With no long term deal in place and the belief that his loyalty to his longtime girlfriend would supersede his to WWE, it’s easy to see why he has been deemphasized.

John Morrison Comments On Melina’s Departure From WWE

John Morrison issued the following statement via Twitter concerning Melina, his girlfriend, who was released this afternoon from her contract with WWE.

He wrote, “I’ve always believed that Melina is the most talented Diva ever employed by World Wrestling Entertainment. (not to mention the hottest!) Her face conveys emotion. Vince McMahon likes to say “Television is a feeling” and I agree with him. That’s what Sports Entertainment is all about. Melina’s presence on Television, aside from the obvious (she be sexy!) is raw emotion- joy, rage, surprise, disgust… her passion just pours out of her

“Melina’s presence on Monday Night Raw will be missed by the WWE universe… and especially by me.

“I think this is the end of a chapter in the book of @RealMelina – I met Melina on my audition for Tough Enough 3, I never forgot the smile, and hug she gave me when I made the show and she got cut and told to go home. I’ve stood next to her with Joey while MNM was yelled at; told we’d never make it, we were worthless. I’ve seen her come back from 2 career threatening injuries. She is one of a kind, and talented enough to do whatever she wants. I’m proud to be her man. I love her, and will support whatever she chooses to do next.

“#staystrong #thankyoumelina.”
