After Monday’s edition of WWE RAW went off the air, Mark Henry and Kane came out to make the save for Daniel Bryan, as he was being attacked by The Shield. In the end, Bryan was left alone in the ring and everyone in Green Bay got to go home off one final “Yes!” chant.

The advertised dark match main event, which was set to feature a “Champion vs. Champion” match between World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio and WWE Champion John Cena, did not take place. There was no dark match main event for the fans in Green Bay.

BREAKING NEWS: John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan SummerSlam Outcome REVEALED!

The official WWE website provided more details on the Kane vs. Bray Wyatt match at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view.

As noted previously, it was strongly hinted at that Kane and Wyatt would face-off in an “Inferno Match” type bout on the card.

Since making their frightening debut on the July 8 episode of Raw, the menacing Wyatt Family has had their sights set on Kane, brutally assaulting him on two separate occasions. Now, at SummerSlam on Sunday, Aug. 18, The Devil’s Favorite Demon will get a chance at long-awaited vengeance when he goes one-on-one with Bray Wyatt inside a “Ring of Fire.”

Later on in the article, WWE.com echo’d the confusion many had when the match was alluded to during RAW. The official WWE website continued:

Although it’s unclear exactly what the sermonizing Wyatt meant, it’s apparent the buzzards’ trail is now leading to a massive collision between the deranged newcomer and Kane at The Biggest Party of the Summer. And the much-anticipated battle – which marks Wyatt’s first match in WWE and Kane’s 11th SummerSlam appearance – promises fireworks – or, more appropriately, hellfire.

And finally, while nothing was officially announced on RAW, WWE.com all-but-confirmed a match between the two for SummerSlam. WWE.com closed out their article by writing:

WWE heavily alluded to a possible “Ring Of Fire” match between Kane and Bray Wyatt at the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view.

During the Wyatt Family segment on RAW, Kane appeared on the titantron just as the segment appeared to be wrapping up. Instead of going to commercial after the sheep mask flashed on the screen, Kane appeared and cut a promo on Bray Wyatt, who was still in the ring with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.

Kane told Wyatt that at SummerSlam, even his family won’t be able to save him from a “ring of fire.” According to one report, it is likely that a Kane vs. Bray Wyatt match will happen at SummerSlam in an “Inferno Match.”

The first ever “Inferno Match” was held at the WWE Unforgiven pay-per-view in 1998, and featured Kane taking on his “brother” The Undertaker in a rematch from their bout at WrestleMania XIV. The match featured the two brothers competing in a ring completely surrounded by fire.

Only four more “Inferno Matches” have taken place since the initial match, all of which featured “The Devil’s Favorite Demon.”

Kane recently spoke to AL.com to promote the upcoming WWE Live Event from Mobile, Alabama on June 21st. During the interview, the veteran WWE superstar put over Daniel Bryan as one of the most talented performers on the roster.

“Daniel Bryan might be the most talented guy on the roster right now. I think he’s the best technical wrestler we have, and he’s also one of those guys who’s been able to forge a connection with our fans. And people who are able to do that are very successful.”

Kane added that he’s had a great time teaming with Bryan because it’s been creatively fulfilling and has allowed him to “show a completely different side” to his character.

“The past year, I’ve really enjoyed it, maybe more so than any other time in my career,” Kane said. “It has allowed me to do things I’ve never done before.”

The Possibility of Snow at WrestleMania:

“Who knows what’s going to happen, right?This may be the first Wrestlemania that they bring the snowplows out. This is going to be really interesting.”

If He Was Surprised The Undertaker Returned For WrestleMania:

“Not really. He’s still got some gas left in the tank. If you’re going to be on the show, this is the show to be on, right? And of course, he’s a guy who really loves the business and loves to be out there. So, that didn’t surprise me at all, no.”

If There Is Jealousy Over Part Time Wrestlers (Rock and Lesnar):

“I don’t think so, because what we try to do is parlay that into better business all around. When the Rock comes back, that takes to a completely different level. The interest he generates is mainstream. It’s beneficial, more so than anyone else can do, frankly. Any petty jealousies that there might be need to be set aside, because we all benefit. It’s like when people say I don’t like so and so because they’re in the top spot, and I’m like well I do like them because I get to work with them and make more money. That’s how I look at it, and I think everybody does. We all benefit from those guys, and the excitement and tension they generate.”

“Yeah, I was, and also the fact that it was such a departure from what I normally do. For me anyway, maybe that’s why it worked so well, because it was such a contrast from what Kane has done in the past. Despite the fact that I’m dealing with Daniel Bryanall the time, which is an enormous pain, I’ve actually had a really good time and a lot of fun doing that angle because it has been something different. It gives me some versatility and being able to show a side of Kane that people haven’t seen before makes the character a lot more well rounded. You’re not just a monster, you’re a monster who can crack jokes.”

How Paul Bearer Shaped His Career

He was an integral part of my early years as Kane. Without Paul Bearer, there wouldn’t have been a Kane, because he was such an important part of that story. Also, we traveled together for a few years, so it was a loss on a personal level for me as well. He came back and managed me in 2010 when I was World Champion, which was really cool – again against The Undertaker. Just like everyone else, I was a big fan of Paul Bearer and Percy Pringle, and all of the other names that he went by. It was a tough loss for everybody. We went to the viewing and what was really amazing was there were flowers there from all over the country – really, all over the world. It was nice to see an outpouring of affection from fans all over the place.

How He’s Lasted 18 Years In WWE:

Well, I work hard and I show up. I’ve been very fortunate that I haven’t gotten injured a bunch. I try to take care of myself. I think, too, my size gives me an advantage in some ways. I’m not always the guy getting knocked down a whole lot. My body probably hasn’t been punished as much as the other guys have been. I think it’s because I show up everyday and I try to do my best – give everything I have.

Comparing Daniel Bryan To His Previous Partners:

Well, he’s different – that’s for sure. What’s cool about Daniel Bryan is that I have now been able to do something that I’ve never been able to do before. Kane has always been sort of a dark character. With Daniel Bryan, we’ve been able to add a lot more lightheartedness, some humor and a lot of comedy. It works even better because it’s such a contrast from what I’ve normally done in the past. He’s completely different than any tag-team partner I’ve ever had. He’s a pain – a monumental pain to get along with. It’s like the odd couple, and somehow, I’ve become the voice of sanity. I don’t know how that’s happened – he’ll do that to you.

His Prediction for The Rock vs. John Cena:

I don’t, and who knows – John Cena made the mistake last year at the last stage of their match when he went to do Rock’s People’s Elbow and it cost him the match. I’m not saying that John Cena would take The Rock lightly, but I think this year he’ll be even more serious about it. I think The Rock is going to be in for more than he may have bargained for.

– During a backstage interview at RAW that aired exclusively on the WWE mobile app, Paul Heyman told Matt Striker that Triple H is crazy to fight Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania under unknown stipulations. Heyman said “the game is on” and Triple H has been outplayed.

– As seen on RAW, WWE and Kmart are running their annual WrestleMania promotion where fans can buy a limited-edition WrestleMania 29 chair for “only” $79.99 when they purchase $30 worth of WWE merchandise at the store.

WWE announced today that Vince McMahon will return to WWE RAW on Monday night to deliver a “State of the WWE Address.”

WWE.com is teasing:

“What will The Chairman have to say? Will he address the performance of Raw General Manager AJ Lee? Could her job be in jeopardy?

In addition to addressing the current state of affairs within WWE, does Mr. McMahon have anything to say regarding its future? Could The Chairman have a message directly from WWE’s Board of Directors?”
