WaleMania 2024: Highlights From Ultimate Night of Hip-Hop and & Wrestling Fusion

WrestleMania weekend is always packed with events. There are indie pro wrestling shows going on, and other fan conventions. WaleMania went down at the Philadelphia at Franklin Music Hall on April 4, and there are a ton of highlights.

Since its first show in 2015, WaleMania has combined hip-hop and wrestling. It stands apart from other events during WrestleMania weekend, serving as a gathering where fans and wrestlers come together, and every year it’s usually the best party all weekend.

Pro wrestlers from practically every company on the planet linked up for WaleMania this year. As you can see, it was quite a party, and there are many highlights to feature.

WaleMania 2024 Highlights

First off, we have to give Samantha Irvine all the flowers for this one. She not only rocked Razor Ramon’s theme music, but she did it on a flute.

Rob Van Dam was there, smoking on stage, alongside Katie Forbes. It was quite a party as the crowd fed into the performance on stage, who were having just as much fun as the fans.

R-Truth was present at WaleMania, and he gave fans in attendance a different kind of show than they’re used to seeing from him. He grabbed the microphone and spit some fire bars for the fans.

Although he’s not booked for WrestleMania, WWE Hall of Famer RVD was also present. NXT Superstar Kelani Jordan couldn’t resist the opportunity to snap a photo with the Whole F’n Show.

Big E couldn’t miss WaleMania, either. The New Day member cut one of his trademark promos for fans, where he introduced Wale. As you can see in the clip, Trick Williams was there as well, and he had a wonderful time ahead of his main event match at NXT: Stand & Deliver against Carmelo Hayes.

Zilla Fatu didn’t miss the show, either. He was there in attendance at WaleMania, and he had a great time. As you can see in the video below, he also spent some time on the stage.

Although it was all fun at WaleMania, things did get a big tense as Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes had a chance to trade some words on stage.

Kiera Hogan stunned the crowd with her dancing skills. Willow Nightingale didn’t miss WaleMania, either, as the two AEW stars had a great time on stage in front of the live crowd.

Kiera Hogan Officially Signs With AEW

Kiera Hogan is All Elite. The former 2x Knockouts tag-team champion in Impact has officially signed with AEW. The news was announced on last night’s broadcast of AEW Dark by Excalibur as Hogan made her entrance for a match against Leila Grey.

Hogan had been with Impact Wrestling from 2017 up until this summer. She announced on her OnlyFans in July that she had finished up with the promotion at a set of tapings from Nashville.

“What’s up babies! I’m in Nashville for tapings and you guys will be the first to know that this is my last IMPACT tapings and I’m going to see what else is out there for me I’m so excited and scared but I know whatever I choose to do I’m gonna be the best and that’s on periodt,” she wrote.

Hogan made her AEW debut just 3 weeks after finishing up with Impact. She wrestled Hikaru Shida on Dark: Elevation taped on 8/11 from Pittsburgh. Two days later she would be defeated by Kris Statlander in a match taped for Dark. Her 3rd match with the promotion was live from the United Center at The First Dance. Hogan was defeated by Jade Cargill on that show. She was also in the Casino Battle Royale at AEW All Out.

Hogan also took part in the NWA’s recent PPV and tapings in St. Louis. She took part in the Women’s Invitation Cup at NWA Empowerrr and defeated Skye Blue on a recent episode of NWA Powerrr.

Kiera Hogan Makes Surprise Debut at AEW Dark Elevation Taping

There has been a lot of movement in the wrestling world this year. Every week seems to bring a new debut in one show or another. One of the quieter ones was recorded this week and will air on the next episode of AEW Dark Elevation.

Kiera Hogan, the former two-time IMPACT Knockouts tag team champion took on former AEW Women’s champion Hikaru Shida.

Kiera Hogan was wrestling on Impact as recently as last week where she was attacked and left behind by her Fire ‘N Flava partner Tasha Steelz. The AEW women’s division is well-populated right now, and get most of their coverage on the Dark shows. However, with Kenny Omega having recently spoken about his desire to push women’s wrestling even more on Rampage, the addition of a wrestler like Kiera Hogan makes sense.

Hogan is a tag team wrestler, and with talk of a women’s tag team title being introduced at some point down the road, you have to think that if Kiera Hogan earns a contract, she would have her eyes on that gold.

Kiera Hogan Looking to Bounce Right Back into the Ring

Nobody was expecting Kiera Hogan to announce her departure from IMPACT wrestling. While her appearance should not be a surprise given her talent, it adds to the mystery of her departure. IMPACT has an open relationship with AEW. While there has been recent criticism of how the Forbidden Door seems less open to female wrestlers, it still doesn’t really explain why Hogan left the promotion.

In any case, she has wasted no time in getting back into the ring and keeping herself in match shape.

Kiera Hogan is a difficult fighter to face in the ring. She is talented and athletic, standing just 4’11’’ which makes her an interesting fighter to have to deal with.

Kiera Hogan Announces Departure From Impact Wrestling

Former Knockouts tag team champion Kiera Hogan has announced that she is leaving Impact Wrestling. The 26-year-old took to her OnlyFans account to announce the news.

Hogan formed a team with Tasha Steelz known as Fire N Flava last year. In January, Hogan and Steelz won an 8-team single-elimination tournament to win the Knockouts tag team championships. The titles were brought out of retirement for the first time since 2013.

Hogan and Steelz lost the titles to Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering at Rebellion in April. They regained the belts at Under Siege the following month, however. Recently at Slammiversary, Havok & Rosemary defeated Fire N Flava to become the new Knockouts tag team champions.

Hogan made her pro-debut in 2015 on independents near Atlanta. She was trained by Curtis “Mr.” Hughes. She signed with Impact in the summer of 2017.

Kiera Hogan Implies Sasha Banks Stole Her Look

Kiera Hogan recently took an indirect shot at Sasha Banks during SmackDown, where she called out The Boss for copying her look and attire.

The Impact Wrestling star took to Twitter and posted the following about the supposed similarities between her and the SmackDown Women’s Champion’s attire and entrance, along with a GIF of herself: “Imma leave this here, Check my fit though ? often imitated never duplicated and that’s on periodt ? you can’t do it like me boo #HottestFlame.”

“‘If you want it come and get though! Make sure you want it for I give it though” and that’s on PERIODT POOH ? #HottestFlame #BlueFlame #FirenFlava.”

The one half of the current Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champion didn’t name The Boss of course, but fans were quick to figure out who she was talking about.

Even though it’s true that the style seems a bit similar, with Sasha Banks sporting blue colored hair and dressing in all black for her promo, it is most likely just a coincidence as she has been using attires similar to this one for a while now.

Sasha Banks hasn’t responded to the post, most likely because her username wasn’t mentioned directly and both the wrestlers are separated by companies.

However, many of Banks’ fans were quick to defend her and flooded Kiera Hogan’s Twitter mentions. When she started getting Banks’ fans in her replies she posted a reaction GIF of a person laughing with the caption, “Insecure?! Y’all got me…”

Hogan seemed pretty unbothered by all the attention, however, as she snapped back by posting, “Y’all profile pictures aren’t even pictures of you! Outta here! Big mad! Be true to you boo and stop worrying about me”

This begs the question: will we get to see the two of them in the ring anytime soon? Probably not, as Kiera Hogan is under a multi-year contract with Impact Wrestling at the moment. But it will surely be interesting to see both the blue-haired stars have a go at it.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time Hogan has said someone has stolen her style. Back in 2018, in an interview, she claimed that Ember Moon stole her gimmick when the two were at a WWE tryout together in 2015.

Knockouts Tag Team Champions Call Out AEW & Tony Khan

Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz, collectively now known as Fire & Flava, won the Knockouts tag team championships at Hard to Kill. After the show, cameras caught up with the new champions celebrating. The video was posted to Impact’s social media accounts and features Hogan and Steelz calling out AEW and Tony Khan.

“We said it from the beginning, Fire & Flava is the team not to F with,” Steelz said in the video. “And Tony Khan, you want to talk about better tag-teams in AEW? What you think about the Knockouts tag-team in Impact. This is how you crown tournament champions, not participation medals.”

“2021 and the next years to come, Fire & Flava is it baby,” Hogan added.

Fire & Flava defeated The Sea Stars, Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie, and Havok & Neveah in an 8-team single-elimination tournament to win the belts.

Steelz comment about participation medals is in regard to the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup held last year. The tournament was won by Diamante and Ivelisse, who have responded to Fire & Flava’s comments as well.

Diamante, who previously wrestled in Impact as a member of LAX, congratulated her partner, Kiera Hogan, on her win at Hard to Kill, however.
