Kurt Angle will be making his long awaited in ring return for WWE when he joins forces with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose tonight at TLC.
Before Angle made his return to WWE to act as the RAW General Manager he made a few appearances for independent promotions, most notably in the UK for Rev Pro and WCPW. To celebrate his in ring return WCPW has released Angle’s match against controversial figure Alberto El Patron from their True Destiny PPV event. The match is available to watch in full below:
The Miz has appeared on his own in recent weeks at RAW shows as Maryse is off pregnant with the #ItBaby. Fortunately for The Miz, he’s had the company of Sheamus, Cesaro, Braun Strowman, and now Kane as he prepares for the main event at TLC against the reunited make-shift Shield.
Due to viral illness, Kurt Angle has stepped up in place of Roman Reigns. AJ Styles has also had to cover for Bray Wyatt, while Bo Dallas has been off for a while recovering. Miz took to twitter to make sure everyone knew who’s show TLC really was:
In his tweet, Miz refers to the confrontation between himself and SmackDown Live general manager: Daniel Bryan. Let’s remind ourselves of THAT episode of Talking Smack in 2016.
Sadly, these two superstars were never able to confront each other in the ring over this heated dispute as WWE will not allow Bryan to come out of retirement due to medical reasons. But if things became as fractious as this with Kurt Angle, there may be different results.
Later that day, The Miz and Maryse dressed up as Prince Charming and Cinderella to post a video as they cut the now traditional cake to reveal the gender of their unborn baby.
Will The Miz becoming a father change his in-ring persona? I don’t think so, he works best as a heel. The more immediate question is, will Miz fall out with RAW gm Kurt Angle like he did with Daniel Bryan? With RAW talent struck down, Kurt may be called up again to fill in for a more physical feud after TLC.
– Bray Wyatt has been forced out of tomorrow night’s (Sun. October 22, 2017) Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV) event, which means that SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles will step in to fill his spot against “The Demon King” Finn Balor. WWE posted the following video in which Balor responded to his new challenger on Instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BafakvAAw_Z/
– In addition to the shuffling the TLC PPV card has undergone, the evening’s main event has seen the removal of Roman Reigns, who will no be replaced by Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle. Angle will make his return to the WWE ring in over a decade to team up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose; taking on the team of The Miz, The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro), Braun Strowman, and Kane. SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan – who has been hoping to make an in-ring return of his own soon – had this to say about the news:
– RAW General Manager Kurt Angle is coming out of retirement tomorrow night at WWE’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view. Replacing an ill Roman Reigns, Angle will team up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in the main event TLC match against Braun Strowman, The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro and Kane.
Angle posted a message on Instagram on Saturday evening, “WWE Universe, be sure to tune in to my return to WWE action tomorrow, Sunday, at TLC. It’s been 11 years and long overdue. I will proudly team up with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, members of the notorious faction “The Shield”. Couldn’t be more excited. #itstrue”

WWE posted this video of Shield members Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose reacting to the news that they’ll be teaming up with Kurt Angle at TLC:
– As we’ve previously reported, SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles will step in for the ill Bray Wyatt at Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) tomorrow night (Sun. October 22, 2017) to take on Finn Balor. WWE posted the following video capturing “The Phenomenal One’s” reaction to the news:
– In addition to the string of illnesses going around the WWE locker room, Shield member Roman Reigns has also been affected and is out of his scheduled 3-on-5 match-up in the main event of TLC. RAW General Manager Kurt Angle will be making his in-ring return to replace “The Big Dog.” Braun Strowman had a reaction video of his own to the news:
Ahead of his in-ring return Sunday night in the main event of WWE’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle held another Q&A session on Facebook. Here are some highlights:
Which year was your best run in the business?
“In WWE? 2003. I was crushing it. Titles…best matches. It was lots of fun. BUT I gotbetter after WWE and had some amazing years in TNA. But I’m glad to be back in WWE.”
Hi Kurt! Please update us on the situation of Neville and Nia Jax
“I don’t know about Neville, yet but Nia should be ok to go very soon. They’re both important talents to the roster.”
Have you ever dealt with anxiety during your career and how do you keep yourself relaxed?
“Yes. Breathe. Inhale and exhale a few dozen times. Clear your mind. Meditation. It works!”
With the Shield back on Raw, how do you think this will effect the remaining roster?
“The Shield opens more possibilities, like tag matches. And with Survivor Series around the corner, it will be interesting where they go from here.”
Kurt. Whats your favourite finishing move from another wrestler?
“The Sleeper. So easy to take. LOL.”
Any regrets in wrestling?
“I wish that I would have taken better care of myself. I abused my body without nurturing it. I had no maintenance routine. I do now.”
Is there one wrestler who intimidated you when they walked into the locker room?
“Not so much intimidation. It’s tough for me to get intimidated, but Undertaker has amazing presence. You respect him the second you meet him.”
As we’ve previously reported, a drastic medical outbreak in the WWE locker room is forcing the company to make huge changes to this weekend’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV). Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle has replaced Roman Reigns in the event’s main event; as he’ll team up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on the team of The Miz, The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro), Braun Strowman, and Kane.
Also on the card was a scheduled bout between Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor. Wyatt was also affected by the illness and has been replaced by SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles. Per a report from Wrestling Inc., the illness affecting the WWE locker room is the mumps. WINC. describes the illness as the following:
“Mumps is an airborne virus that can be spread by saliva or utensils – even plates or cups – with an infected person. It can also be spread by coughing or sneezing. Symptoms usually take 16-18 days to appear. It then usually takes several days to a week to disappear.”
WWE had been testing RAW talents for Viral Meningitis, however, it was later discovered that the illness was the mumps. No word yet on if more changes will be made to TLC since the outbreak. There is also no news on whether or not SmackDown Live talent is being tested as well. More to come…..
The WWE world is in for a massive shock. Due to medical issues the WWE has been forced to shuffle the Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV) card. Roman Reigns will now be replaced by Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle; teaming up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on the team of The Miz, The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro), Braun Strowman, and Kane. SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles will replace Bray Wyatt to take on Finn Balor. Here’s the official announcement from WWE:
“Due to medical issues impacting two WWE Superstars scheduled to appear at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs, streaming live on WWE Network this Sunday, the special event will now feature Kurt Angle competing in a WWE ring for the first time in more than 11 years, as he replaces Roman Reigns. In addition, former WWE Champion AJ Styles will replace Bray Wyatt and face “The Demon” Finn Bálor.
“A WWE Hall of Famer and the current General Manager of Raw, Angle will join forces with Raw Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose to battle the daunting combination of Braun Strowman, Intercontinental Champion The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus and The Big Red Machine Kane in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs 5-on-3 Handicap Match.
“The showdown between “The Demon” and Styles is one that the WWE Universe has been wanting for a long time and promises to be one of the most exciting matches of 2017.”
We previously reported that the WWE locker room has been dealing with Viral Meningitis, affecting Superstars such as Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt. We’ll keep you updated as more news becomes available.
Last October, we saw the first-ever Women’s Hell in a Cell match between Charlotte and Sasha Banks. Earlier this year, Carmella won the first-ever (and second-ever) Money in the Bank ladder match. According to RAW General Manager Kurt Angle, we could also see a Women’s Elimination Chamber match in the near future.
Angle did a Q&A session on Facebook on Friday and was asked why we haven’t seen the RAW Women’s Championship defended inside the chamber.
The most recent WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view took place back in February, with Bray Wyatt capturing his first WWE Championship in a match that also included then-champion AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Dean Ambrose, John Cena and The Miz.
December’s Clash of Champions will be a Smackdown PPV and January’s Royal Rumble will feature both brands. WWE has not yet announced which brand will host next year’s Elimination Chamber show, but Angle’s message indicates it will be a RAW event.
RAW’s women’s roster includes Alexa Bliss (champion), Asuka, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax, Bayley, Alicia Fox, Dana Brooke, Emma, Mickie James, Paige and Summer Rae.
WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently did a Q&A on Facebook and commented on a number of interesting topics, including CM Punk returning to WWE one day, Nakamura being qualified to carry the WWE Championship and where he ranks himself among the best wrestlers ever.
Here are some highlights of what RAW’s General Manager said about:
The possibility of CM Punk back in WWE one day:
“Anything is possible. I think so.” Shinsuke Nakamura as WWE Champion:
“Yes. I wrestled Nakamura 9 years ago, it was epic, and he’s much better now! I think it’s his time, but Jinder is a beast.”
Which female competitor he wants to see inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018:
“Right now? Trisha Stratus. If she’s not already [Note: She was, back in 2013], Mickie James will be a shoo-in once she hangs it up. I hope not too soon though!”
If he’s excited about The Shield reuniting:
“Who isn’t?!?! I wish Team Angle could go a round with the Shield.”
His favorite exercise:
“I love to run, it clears my mind. And if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it. If I stop running it will be very difficult to start back up at my age. LOL.”
If he listens to Bruce Prichard’s Something To Wrestle With podcast:
“No. But Bruce was there and was a big part of it. What he says is true…at least most of it…lol.”
Where he stands with the best wrestlers ever:
“At the very top. Yes, I feel that way. It kind of sucks that my matches in TNA were just as good as the ones in WWE, but the WWE Universe didn’t see them. If you add my 11 years in TNA/Japan plus my 7 year WWE run, then yes. I think most would agree with that.
But, we all have our own opinions. That’s what is fun about debating. Hearing others’ opinions on it.”
RAW General Manager Kurt Angle recently spoke with Foxsports.com.au and once again teased that we haven’t seen the last of him in a WWE ring.
“I feel great,” Angle said. “When you’re an athlete the way I’ve been my entire life — you want to get into the ring but I have to be patient and see how it pans out.”
Angle has yet to get checked out by WWE doctors to see if he can get medically cleared to wrestle, but did reveal that he’s subject to WWE’s talent Wellness Policy.
“I haven’t taken the physical to wrestle but the drug testing — I’m part of that. I’m a talent on TV. Although they don’t treat me as a wrestler, if you’re a talent, you’re involved in everything. “You can get drug tested at any point in time.”
If he does get the green light from WWE to compete again, Angle expects that his father-son storyline with Jason Jordan will be the catalyst for his in-ring return.
“I would say I will most likely wrestle. I have not taken a physical yet. I’m basically waiting on the boss. It’s up to Vince McMahon. I would imagine I will. I’d imagine the storyline is going to go somewhere with Jason Jordan, so I’m just being patient and enjoying the general manager job. Hopefully, eventually I’ll get back to wrestling.”
– Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle made his first appearance in Australia in over a decade this week. The RAW GM appeared at a WWE live event in Melbourne where he was greeted by a big pop from the crowd. In a backstage interview posted on WWE’s Twitter, Angle admitted it’s tough not taking part in the action with the wrestlers, but he takes pride in his role as the RAW GM.
– SmackDown Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston may have suffered a knee injury at last night’s WWE live event in Honolulu, Hawaii. During a match alongside Big E against the team of Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler, Kofi missed a crossbody and was limping after the spot. The New Day member was helped to the back after the match.
– Asuka also appeared on the SmackDown brand live event last night in in Honolulu. She was wearing a sling and was supporting the team of Charlotte, Naomi and Becky as they defeated Natalya, Carmella, Lana and Tamina in a handicap match. Asuka was originally booked to wrestle in the match until she suffered the collarbone injury.
– Dolph Ziggler had his “re-debut” on SmackDown on Tuesday, with the same entrance music and style as usual, then he cut a promo mocking some of the more popular characters in WWE. WWE continued the angle on YouTube after the show, with the above video where Ziggler interrupts Renee Young backstage and continues ranting about other wrestlers’ gimmicks.
– RAW General Manager and former WWE Champion Kurt Angle gave high grades to The Big Show & Braun Strowman’s cage match on Monday’s show. The Olympic Gold Medalist took to Twitter to call the bout a “classic cage match” and recommended that fans check it out.
2 big men that "know how" to put on a classic cage match. If you haven't seen #BraunvsShow from Raw last night, watch it!! It's worth it! pic.twitter.com/AzcalScsDs
– WWE ran an opinion poll after Tuesday’s SmackDown where 37% fans voted Shane McMahon being suspended as the “most shocking” moment of the show. 30% of fans voted for Shane’s attack on Kevin Owens, while 22% voted for Carmella kissing James Ellsworth.
RAW General Manager Kurt Angle spoke with The Sun last week and revealed that he was surprised to learn around WrestleMania that he’d be returning to WWE television on a weekly basis.
“There was never supposed to be a GM role,” he admitted. “I don’t know if it was Mick Foley’s hip or WWE just decided they wanted to bring me on the TV. It’s been a lot of fun. I love being with the guys and girls and every week you get a closer bond with them.”
Angle continued, “I’m obviously from a different generation so it’s kind of different for me to be here now. They’ve welcomed me and made me feel at home, I’m having a great time.”
Angle has made it clear in various interviews that he would love to lace up his boots (at least) one more time. Ultimately, the decision is up to Vince McMahon. In his talk with The Sun, the Olympic Gold medalist sounds more confident than ever that he hasn’t wrestled his final match in a WWE ring.
“You’ll see me back in the ring, for sure,” Angle said. “I don’t know when, but I can’t wait.”
Last week during SummerSlam weekend, we had a chance to attend the WWE 2K18 launch party in New York City. SEScoops correspondent Jason Solomon of the popular Solomonster Sounds Off podcast got a chance to speak with RAW General Manager Kurt Angle about how WWE has changed since his first run with the company and which WWE Superstar(s) he’d like to work with at WrestleMania 34 if he returns to the ring next year.
When asked how WWE has changed during his decade-plus hiatus from the company, Angle said the biggest difference is how well WWE takes care of their performers.
“They run a tighter ship,” said Angle. “They cater to their athletes a lot more, from a nutritional standpoint to a health standpoint to a drug testing standpoint to a fitness and wellness standpoint.. passing physicals, it’s a lot more difficult now. I commend WWE for that. When I was there at the beginning of my career, there was no drug testing policy, there was barely a physical that you had to pass. So they’ve come a long way and they really have been successful in protecting their athletes to make sure they have a nice long life after wrestling.”
We also asked Kurt about his ‘dream opponent’ for WrestleMania 34. Angle has stated numerous times that he’d love to wrestle again and that decision is ultimately up to Vince McMahon. Angle wound up listing 10 performers.
“There are a bunch of guys, I have to admit I was one of the best when I was wrestling here back in the mid-2000’s. There’s a huge roster right now, this is the most talented roster I’ve ever seen. I would throw guys like Brock Lesnar, Triple H, John Cena, who I’ve already wrestled, Randy Orton, but the new guys, Finn Balor, I love Bray Wyatt, Cesaro, Sheamus. I’d also like to mix it up with AJ Styles in a WWE ring and Samoa Joe.”
Check out the full video below, which also includes interviews with WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Braun Strowman, former NXT Champion Bobby Roode, former RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and Bayley.
Despite his apparent retirement at WrestleMania earlier this year, you can never really rule out a possible surprise appearance of the Undertaker on a WWE event somewhere down the line because of the mystique surrounding his character.
However, when it comes to him possibly wrestling again, the opinions are divided as many believe that his gesture at Mania indicated his retirement from the in-ring action while others think that WWE will try to call him again as long as they can because of the massive appeal.
And it appears that the Raw General Manager Kurt Angle belongs to the second group as he believes that Taker is not done with wrestling just yet.
During a recent Q&A session on his official Facebook page, a fan asked Kurt Angle about the retirement of the Dead Man and if he wishes that he had a match with him at WrestleMania.
Replying to it, the Raw GM said that in his opinion, the former World Champion is not done just yet and it would be dream come true to face him at the Show Of Shows:
“My opinion? He’s not done yet, but that’s my opinion. And to wrestle Taker at Mania? That’s a dream come true. Everybody wants Taker at Mania.”
It’s worth mentioning here that just recently, an alleged photo of The Undertaker boarding a flight to New York started rumours of him appearing at SummerSlam. While Taker ended up not being a part of the PPV in any capacity, many still believe that he can appear on the following episode of Raw or SmackDown.
Brian Fritz of Between The Ropesrecently caught up with WWE Hall of Famer and RAW GM Kurt Angle at the launch party for WWE 2K18 last night.
What is like to be part of WWE 2K18 and what is it like to be back in WWE?
It is an honor to be part of the video game. I’ve never had the opportunity to be a part of it. So, to be the pre-order bonus and to be back in WWE, a year ago I would have said that you are crazy. But here I am standing on the red carpet and talking about the WWE 2K18 video game and I am just happy to be a part of it and am looking forward to the future.
What is like to be the RAW GM and be on the show every week?
I love it. I’ve always loved being around the business, but to be the General Manager of RAW is a huge honor. I still get that feeling that I want to get back in that ring and go at it, so hopefully down the road I take the physical and we get moving in that direction but right now I am very happy being the GM.
There was a bunch of speculation about you returning to the ring, did you ever think that it was going to happen at WWE SummerSlam?
No. There were rumors that were going around that I was going to be in the ring but I know Vince McMahon, he is going to tell me ahead of time just so I’m prepped. And he never did that so I knew I wasn’t going to be a part of it. I’m looking probably early next year, you know, it is all up to Vince. He is making the decisions. He just started a storyline with Jason Jordan and myself. I think a lot of good things are going to come down the road.
What are your thoughts on being part of the Jason Jordan storyline?
I’ve said it before, Vince McMahon has a sense of humor and he is using it at the hands of Kurt Angle. I actually like being a part of anything that is different. When Vince approached me and told me about it, I loved it. I said let’s do this. Anything that separates me from the rest, I am going to do it and he knew that.
Doesn’t Chad Gable look more like your son than Jason Jordan?
I think a lot of people thought that and I think that is why Vince McMahon went the other direction.
Bobby Lashley recently took part in a media conference to promote Thursday’s GFW Destination X special on Pop TV. Lashley talked about various topics including wrestling WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle in his final TNA match and Alberto El Patron being stripped of the GFW World Championship. Here are the highlights:
Wrestling Kurt Angle in his final match in TNA:
“I’ve done a lot of things in wrestling – big pay-per-views all across the world, from WrestleMania to everything else – but I put that match all the way at the top. Not at the top of everything, but I think it’s my top two or three. Reason being, I’ve always looked up to Kurt. I was watching him when I was in high school wrestling and Kurt was winning nationals in college.
When I went to college and was winning national championships, Kurt was winning the World and Olympic championships. I just kind of followed him all the way up. Afterwards, when I was at the Olympic training center, Kurt came to there to do a vignette and Kurt is the one that found me. He said, ‘You ever think about professional wrestling?’ We talked for a little bit and I passed my number on. The rest is history. He’s the one that got me into professional wrestling.
For 12 years I was in pro wrestling, Kurt and I never crossed paths. When I went to WWE, he went to TNA, when I went to TNA, he stepped out and was fighting, he came back and I was out and then I finally came back. This whole time he mentored me along the way, we would always talk to me on the phone and we’d talk about different matches and what to do and he’d just help me out with the politics of wrestling. Actually having an opportunity to wrestle him, towards the end, that was the one thing that I was pulling for so hard. I was telling them ‘if Kurt is getting ready to retire, you gotta get me in the ring with him.’ It was incredible. We had two big matches in each time it was like you were in the ring with your teacher. I like Kurt’s style, I mimic Kurt’s style to a certain extent so to me it was amazing.”
GFW suspending Alberto El Patron and stripping him of the World Championship:
“If we go out there and do something we have to hold ourselves accountable for the things that we do. The company has to do what they have to do. It’s an unfortunate situation. I don’t know all of the details because I try to stay out of that. My business and my contract says for me to be a performer and do that part, not to do any of the backstage or office stuff. The one thing I do know is, who needs the title? That’s me. Give me my title back. I could care less what’s going on with him. I’m just here to compete and now there’s an open title. That’s what I’m focussed on.”
Earlier this year, one of the hottest storylines on Monday Night RAW was General Manager Kurt Angle’s ‘secret’ that he was keeping under wraps for weeks alongside commentator Corey Graves. It was finally revealed by Angle himself that the secret looming over him the past few weeks was the fact that he discovered he had an illegitimate son from his college days. As for who his son is, it turns out it was none other than former SmackDown Live Tag Team Champ Jason Jordan.
For the past couple of weeks Jordan has been establishing himself as a singles competitor as he attempts to climb his way up the ladder on Monday Nights, however, he claims to want to do it without ‘special treatment’ from his father. RAW will be live from Boston, Massachusetts tonight (Mon. August 14, 2017) and both Angle and Jordan took to Twitter to post photos of their ‘#fatherson’ media day this morning to promote tonight’s show:
– On Saturday, Kurt Angle celebrated his four year anniversary of remaining sober. Regarding this, the Raw General Manager posted the following on Instagram.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BXeL2ecAxF8/
Angle’s struggle with addiction is well-documented. Prior to the 1996 Summer Olympics, Angle fractured two of his cervical vertebrae but was able to wrestle by receiving Novocaine injections in his neck. Angle eventually became addicted to Vicodin and was taking 65 extra-strength Vicodin pills a day at the height of his addiction. After he moved from WWE to TNA in 2006, he began mixing his medication with alcohol and his life spiraled out of control.
During a Reddit AMA in March, Angle said his wife, Giovanna, threatened to leave him if he didn’t clean himself up.
“[She said], ‘Listen, I love you, but you have had 4 DUI’s already. I love you but I can’t stay with you. I can’t live like this. You pass out every night at 7 o’clock and you don’t spend any time with the kids,'” Angle recalled when asked about his lowest moment.
That’s when Angle realized he had to turn his life around.
“She wanted me,” Angle said. “She wanted the Kurt Angle that she knew. So I decided to check into rehab. That’s where my rock bottom came.”
– At tonight’s WWE live event in Ottawa, Ontario featuring SmackDown LIVE talent, Baron Corbin came out to a new theme song. You can hear a snippet on WWE’s Snapchat.
– In John Cena’s latest “Hard Nocks South” video documenting his various workout routines in his gym of the same name, the WWE Superstar increases weight on cleans and squats.
– Continuing her #GiveEmmaAChance campaign for more television time, Emma asked Raw General Manager Kurt Angle on Twitter what his plan is for her tomorrow night after she was left off last week’s show.
In her tweet, she included a photo of Emma and Jason Jordan action figures, which is in reference to her suggestion two weeks ago on Raw that maybe Angle would give her more opportunities if she dates his son.
– Celebrating a birthday today is Reby Hardy, who turns 31 years old. Matt Hardy tweeted this message wishing his wife a happy birthday.
Happy BDay to the beautiful & talented mother of my children, my wife, Rebecca. Reby has been by my side & had my back thru all, I love you. pic.twitter.com/eXx71D3a25
– Monday’s RAW took place in show GM Kurt Angle’s hometown of Pittsburgh, and during the opening segment of the show he was interrupted by Paul Heyman and his client Universal Champ Brock Lesnar. Before Heyman left, he threatened that if Lesnar loses the Universal Title at SummerSlam, Lesnar will leave WWE and take Heyman with him. WWE uploaded a video to YouTube after RAW where Angle talks about how big of a loss Lesnar would be for RAW, and he defends his choice of a Fatal Four Way stipulation at SummerSlam.
The Olympic gold medalist added that it felt great to be in his hometown on Monday, and said the feeling reminded him of why he loves the wrestling business.
– There was no dark main event after Monday’s RAW went off the air, despite a street fight between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar being advertised locally. It was announced that WWE will next return to the PPG Paints Arena in Philly on Thursday, December 28th for a SmackDown brand house show with a pre-sale password of HOLIDAY.
– WWE’s latest Celebrating Champions video features Special Olympian Justin “JJ” Jones and WWE Ambassador Dana Warrior. JJ and his family were in the crowd at Monday’s RAW and got a standing ovation from the fans.
Kurt Angle on Austin Aries being released by WWE, how he was able to show emotion when Jason Jordan was revealed as his son on RAW
WWE Hall of Famer and RAW GM Kurt Angle did a Q&A on his Facebook page yesterday. Angle was asked how he felt about Austin Aries being released from WWE and here was his response:
“I’m sure that neither side was happy. Austin is a very, very talented wrestler. Love his style.”
Angle also responded to fan about how he was able to legitimately break down and cry when Jason Jordan was revealed as his “son” on RAW last week:
“I thought to myself what it would be like to see my son Kody for the first time ever, and didn’t know it for 20 years. I thought if it were real, how would I feel?”
Baron Corbin responds to criticism on Twitter
Baron Corbin responded to fan that suggested that he might cancel his WWE Network subscription because Baron Corbin won the MITB briefcase and Big Cass is getting a push on RAW. Here was his response:
Kodiak Berry now has 32 followers, so mission accomplished I guess. Corbin won the Money in the Bank briefcase last month and that guarantees him a shot at the WWE Championship whenever he wants it. Corbin has been in a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura recently on SmackDown and the two will face off this Sunday at WWE Battleground.
WWE promotes new Kurt Angle DVD being released on August 1st

On last week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, it was revealed that General Manager Kurt Angle’s dark secret that has been lingering over him for the past few weeks is the fact that he has a long-lost son that he didn’t know about from a relationship he had during his college days. It was revealed that his son was none other than former SmackDown Live Tag Team Champion Jason Jordan.
Per a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jordan didn’t find out about his program with Angle until last week. When Jordan was introduced by Angle he was not only referred to as his son, but as the newest member of the RAW brand. This means that the team of American Alpha is now broken up, as Jordan’s partner, Chad Gable, is left behind on SmackDown Live to pursue a singles career.
The Observer also speculated that Jordan being Angle’s son is probably a rib on the former Olympic Gold Medalist’s history of dating African American women. About a decade ago Angle was a part of a storyline in which he stalked Booker T’s wife, Sharmell Sullivan, who he had an infatuation for.
