Liv Morgan Retains Women’s Title, Rousey Turns Heel at SummerSlam

Liv Morgan made her first premium live event defense as SmackDown Women’s Champion against Ronda Rousey at Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam event from the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The match was short and quick. It was mostly dominated by Rousey. The finish saw Rousey have Morgan in the armbar, but at the same time, Morgan tapped, the referee counted the three as Rousey’s shoulders were down. They gave Morgan the win even. Post-match, Rousey attacked Morgan and the referee. WWE played it up as Rousey getting robbed.

At Money in the Bank, Rousey submitted Natalya to retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship, but after the match Morgan, who won the women’s Money in the Bank match earlier in the show, came out with the briefcase and cashed in. Rousey was vulnerable as she was selling the wear and tear of her previous match. Morgan pinned her to win the title for the first time.

On the July 8th edition of SmackDown, Morgan came out for a promo when she was confronted by Natalya, who told her  if it wasn’t for her injuring Rousey’s leg then she wouldn’t be champion. Rouisey came out to confront Natalya, which led to Rousey beating Natalya.

Liv Morgan Battles ‘Survivors Guilt’ After Ruby Soho’s WWE Release

Liv Morgan has revealed that she feels guilty after her partner Ruby Soho was released by WWE and she wasn’t.

Liv Morgan & Ruby Riott In WWE

On June 2, 2021, Soho was released by WWE, effectively disbanding The Riott Squad for the second time. Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott (Soho) had spent around five years on and off paired together both through The Riott Squad and their tag team.

On April 10, 2021, on Night 1 of WrestleMania 37, Riott & Morgan competed in a tag team turmoil match to become the #1 contenders for the Women’s Tag Team Championships, with the winners going on to compete the following night. Ruby and Livwould go on to eliminate the teams of Billie Kay & Carmella, and Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke, before being defeated by the new Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya & Tamina.

Liv Morgan Thought She Was Fired

The SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan sat down with Ariel Helwani of BT Sport to talk about remaining in WWE after her then-tag-team partner Ruby Riott (Soho) was released.

The SmackDown Women’s Champion said:

“I get like chills thinking about it. She calls me and she’s like, ‘I just got fired.’ And I live on a farm and I don’t get cell service. So in that moment, I was like, ‘Oh, me too, like, if they fired Ruby, they fired, they fired me.’ And so I’m kind of just sitting there like waiting to get the phone call or the text. And then I’m like, ‘I’m on the farm, I’m not gonna get the phone call because I don’t get cell service.’ So I’m just sitting there like thinking like, I’m fired, too. And then I have Ruby, you know what I mean? So we’re both just shocked. We don’t know what to say. It’s just very, very, very, very surreal.

And then I’m like, ‘Do I call work and like ask if I’m fired?’ I just didn’t see why they would let her go and not me. I didn’t understand it. So the whole time I’m thinking, ‘I’m fired too.’ And I’m kind of just like settling and like, ‘Okay. You know, maybe, like, I guess we’ll be a team, right? I don’t know.’ And then I wasn’t fired. And I’m so grateful that I wasn’t, but in that moment, it was almost worse, that I wasn’t also fired.”

Liv Morgan Suffers From ‘Survivor’s Guilt’

“Just because I think I had accepted it also because I had thought like, for 25 minutes that I was also fired. So I think I like accepted it right away. Then when I found out that it was just Ruby, I don’t know, just my best friend. That’s my sister, and she’s in so much pain right now that it just hurt my heart and I almost wish that I could like share it or take it from her or at least be like, ‘Dude, me too. It’s okay.’ You know? I don’t know, I don’t know.

I didn’t want her to feel like I was better than her because I don’t believe that, you know. So, I just I didn’t know how to handle my best friend, who I’m in a tag team with being let go and me still being here,” Liv reflected.

The former Riott Squad member said, “Really bad. Really bad survivor’s guilt. I didn’t know what to do. And then going to work that first week was so weird. I walk in with Ruby every single day. We walk around the halls together. We’re together all the time. It was so weird. But then, you know, everything just kept moving. And she’s doing great. I’m so happy for her. Love you Ru. She’s doing great.”

Liv Morgan & Ruby Soho Now

Liv Morgan is currently the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, and Ruby Soho is a member of the AEW women’s roster.

Ruby received a shot at the AEW Women’s Championship back at AEW Grand Slam in September against Britt Baker. In October, Soho participated in a tournament to crown the first AEW TBS champion, but she was defeated in the final match by Jade Cargill. She also participated in the AEW Owen Hart Cup tournament, where she also made it to the final, but she was defeated at Double or Nothing 2022 by Britt Baker.

Liv Morgan Reflects on How Her Fans Pushed Her Towards the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

Liv Morgan, the SmackDown Women’s Champion, sat down with Graham “GSM” Matthews of Bleacher Report to talk about how her fans have been able to positively impact her career.

Earlier this month at Money in the Bank, Liv Morgan captured her first SmackDown Women’s Championship. This Saturday, she defends the title at SummerSlam against former champion Ronda Rousey. The match is seen as a chance for Morgan to solidify herself as a worthy champion.

Liv Morgan has one of the biggest fanbases in all of pro wrestling. Due to her reactions and support, Liv was launched all the way to the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Liv: My Fans Made Me Undeniable

Liv Morgan spoke with Graham “GSM” Matthews of Bleacher Report about how her fans aided her in her journey to the top of the WWE women’s division.

The SmackDown Women’s Champion said:

“Yeah, I mean, I feel like my fans have watched me like, grow, grow up in general, you know. I mean, I signed to WWE when I was 20 years old, I’m 28. You know, they watched me grow and just learn this business as best as I can to where, you know, eventually they started rooting for me because of the familiarity and for like, watching me for so long.

“And just I love, I mean, I’ve taken advantage of social media, as far as I want to talk to my fans, I want to reach out to them. I want to know what’s going on. I want to like, you know, see what they’re thinking and what they’re feeling. And I don’t think I’d be in this position without them. I know, I’ve said that a bunch of times, but it’s so true.

“You know, coming into this business, I realized kind of very soon, I’m coming in in the era of like the four horsewomen. And so I wasn’t that. I wasn’t a generational superstar. I don’t have anyone famous in my family. I definitely wasn’t chosen, or the chosen one by any means.

“But my fans kind of put me in this position to where they kind of made me undeniable. And essentially, because of how supportive they’ve been and how amazing they’ve been, and how much they have kind of propelled me to keep going and to keep fighting.”

Liv Talks About Her Emotions Entering The MITB Match

Liv followed this up by talking about her emotions heading into the Money in the Bank match. Liv explained that she felt so much pressure to become Ms. Money in the Bank because of her fans. She even spoke about the impact that the fans had on her while she was making her entrance.

“Yeah, I was, I was okay. I mean, that whole day was kind of just, it was make or break for me. I felt like just, you know, professionally in that moment of time. I was like, if I don’t do this for my fans, I dropped the ball if I don’t win this for them. So, that’s kind of how I was feeling. So, I took it very seriously. And it was very, I feel like I had no choice but to win.

“But like, you know, heading into the match. I was feeling okay, but then as soon as I walked through, and I heard, I heard the crowd. It just like struck a chord with me for some reason. I just was like, ‘They want me to win this so bad.’ I was like, ‘They want me to have this so bad.’ And it just struck a chord and it just made me emotional. And then in that moment, I was like, ‘I’m doing it. Like there’s no way, there’s no way I’m leaving this match without that briefcase in my hands.’

“And so it just it was a very overwhelming kind of feeling that I was trying to compose myself, but they gave me so much energy that it just like broke me,” Liv said.

Reason For Liv Morgan’s WWE Push Revealed (Report)

A new report has revealed the possible reason that Liv Morgan has finally received a push by WWE.

Many were surprised when WWE decided to give Liv Morgan a major push over the last few weeks. Earlier this month, Liv won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Later that night, she cashed in the briefcase on Ronda Rousey to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Liv Benefits From Sasha & Naomi?

In the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that “part of the reason, if not the key reason, for the recent push of Morgan was the walking out of Sasha Banks and Naomi.”

Meltzer noted that when they left WWE needed a top-tier babyface for the SmackDown women’s division. Now we see that Morgan was the one who got the pick of the draw, which has worked out because fans have always been strongly behind her.

As previously reported, Banks and Naomi are still under contract with WWE. However, Banks’ lawyer is reportedly working on her release. Banks has been making non-wrestling bookings and reportedly won’t make any wrestling-related bookings until next year. It was also reported that Sasha Banks has an asking price of $30,000 for non-wrestling appearances.

Liv Morgan Reveals Which Wrestler She First Resonated With

Current SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Liv Morgan has revealed the first wrestler that she ever resonated with as a young fan.

Morgan was a guest on SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee’s podcast, “The Pat McAfee Show,” to talk about her current title reign.

During the interview, Morgan was asked about the first wrestler she ever resonated with as a fan. She named WWE Hall Of Famer Lita as that star, explaining why.

“She was the first female wrestler that I feel like I resonated with. She wrestled the boys, she wore baggy pants, and I grew up with four older brothers that I wrestled with in my backyard. I considered myself such a tomboy.

“So here’s this woman that’s working the boys and wearing baggy pants and sneakers. I saw her and thought, maybe she could be my friend. That’s something that I helped to give my fans.”

Lita is one of the most accomplished women WWE and professional wrestling has ever seen. While breaking down barriers and helping launch the Women’s Revolution, she also earned four WWE Women’s Title wins in the process.

In 2014, Lita was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame for her legendary career, which continued as she returned to the ring as recently as Elimination Chamber in February of this year, where she challenged Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Title. However, Lita came up just short.

Liv Morgan, on the other hand, is in the midst of her first-ever title reign in WWE. She won the Money In The Bank briefcase earlier this month, cashing it in the very same night on Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown Women’s Title.

The pair will rematch with the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line at SummerSlam on July 30 from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Liv Morgan On Negative Reactions To Her Title Win

Liv Morgan has had to go through many ups and downs before finally winning her first championship in pro wrestling. Though the one thing that has been constant throughout her journey is the fan support. Morgan failed many times after coming close to the achievement. However, her fan base only grew with every failed attempt and it finally got her to where she is now.

The SmackDown women’s champion recently appeared on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast. Speaking about the unwavering fan support, Liv mentioned how she owes them everything:

“I feel like I owe almost it all to my fans. I feel like I’ve said this a couple times, so many times I felt like throughout my journey in WWE. I know the fans believed in me. I felt their belief for me. But so many times I felt like I was giving them absolutely nothing to believe in, and here they are just still rooting for me and wanting me to succeed.

I wanted more than anything to actually give them something to believe in. To feel proud. All your years of standing by me, I’m gonna repay it to you in this moment. That’s kind of what Money In The Bank and cashing in was for me. This championship is as much for them as this was for me.

‘Everyone Has Their Opinion’: Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan at Money In The Bank

Though despite being one of the most popular superstars on the current roster, Liv Morgan is not protected from criticism. From being called ‘too girly’ to being labeled as someone who is ‘playing a pro wrestler’, the former NXT star has to endure a lot even after proving haters wrong every day. When asked how she deals with all the negativity, Liv explained why it has never bothered her:

“You could have the most perfect painting, the most perfect drawing, the most perfect meal, [be the] most perfect human in the world and someone’s not gonna like it. You know? I enjoy the good just as much as I enjoy the bad. It’s just something that luckily has never bothered me. I don’t know. Everyone has their opinion and everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.

It’s kind of like [I] feel what you think about me is none of my business. If you love me, if you hate me, I can only do what I feel is right. That’s something that I’ve kind of done my whole career. I’ve just tried to stay as true to me as I possibly could.”

Rumor Killer on Liv Morgan & Natalya Following House Show Incident

A recent house show incident involving Liv Morgan and Natalya has got people talking.

Morgan is currently involved in a program with Natalya and the two will be doing battle on the July 15 episode of SmackDown.

This could be the blowoff match as Liv will be putting her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam on July 30.

In preparation for their upcoming television match, Liv and Natalya faced off at a live event this past weekend. Liv got the pinfall but after the match, Natalya said something to Liv and seemingly no-sold the finish.

Putting Gossip to Rest

In a since-deleted Tweet, Natalya said that she simply told Liv Morgan “thank you” after the match.

In an update, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reported that the issue was resolved that very same night. The exact details behind what transpired aren’t known, but there was some backstage heat on Natalya and possibly even Liv over it.

Now, here’s the rumor killer.

Dave notes that there is no heat between Liv and Natalya. It’s been said that Natalya was upset about something but her anger wasn’t directed at Liv despite the footage coming across that way.

Why Liv would be getting any heat is unknown but it appears that this was a spur-of-the-moment situation and probably won’t have long-term consequences.

WWE Superstar Moved to SmackDown Brand

One WWE superstar is now calling SmackDown home.

In the land of WWE, changes certainly aren’t rare. We’ve seen tons of character overhauls and performers switching shows.

Whether that’s from Raw to SmackDown, NXT to Raw, SmackDown to NXT, and so on and so forth, things shift in WWE all the time.

When it comes to this superstar, in particular, a switch in brands was obvious but it has now been set in stone.

Liv is SmackDown

PWInsider reports that internally, Liv Morgan is now a full-time member of the SmackDown roster.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise seeing as how Liv successfully cashed in her briefcase at Money in the Bank on July 2. She pinned Ronda Rousey to become the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Liv appeared on the post-MITB edition of Raw and teamed with Bianca Belair. The two defeated Natalya and Carmella.

It won’t be long before we find out what’s next for Liv Morgan on the road to SummerSlam. It’s been reported that a proper match with Rousey is in the cards.

Bully Ray: Liv Morgan Was ‘Playing a Pro Wrestler’ In Recent Promo

WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray wasn’t a fan of SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan’s recent promo.

Ray recently took to his radio show, “Busted Open Radio,” to offer his thoughts on Morgan’s promo this week after winning the SmackDown Live Women’s Title when she cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase on Ronda Rousey shortly after winning it.

The Hall Of Famer noted that he feels like the support from the fans has died down a bit behind Morgan, and her prom felt like “somebody who’s playing a pro wrestler as opposed to being a pro wrestler.”

“I didn’t think it was a strong promo from her. But I will say this, the people were behind her, at first, but then it started to trail off a bit.

“I believe she was trying to memorize a promo last night – they’re never going to hand Liv Morgan a microphone and say, ‘Here’s five minutes, go say whatever the hell you want to say.’ Unfortunately, when I hear Liv talk last night, I feel like I’m watching somebody who’s playing a pro wrestler as opposed to being a pro wrestler.

“This whole, ‘We did it guys, if it wasn’t for you guys, you guys got me all the way through,’ it’s uber babyface, chase-the-hug stuff and I understand why they do it. But, I want to see Liv come out there and stand on her own two feet – verbally and physically.”

It remains to be seen what’s next for Morgan after winning the SmackDown Live Women’s Title. A program with Natalya was teased on Monday Night RAW, however, it’s also expected that Morgan gives Rousey her rematch, likely at SummerSlam.

Things should become a bit more clear on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live this Friday.

Former WWE Ref Isn’t Thrilled with Liv Morgan’s Cash-In

At Money in the Bank 2022, Liv Morgan won the Women’s Ladder Match, guaranteeing her a championship match at a time of her choosing for up to a year.

Morgan didn’t waste time in picking her moment, as mere hours later she cashed in on Ronda Rousey, who had retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Natalya.

Winning the title from Ripley, many felt this was the perfect moment for Morgan, though not everyone is pleased.

Korderas Weighs In

Speaking on his ‘Reffin Rant,’ former WWE official Jimmy Korderas said he wasn’t a fan of Morgan’s booking.

While Korderas said it was a nice surprise, he believes that Morgan shouldn’t have cashed in the way she did (via Wrestling Inc.)

“It was a nice surprise. It got the huge pop it wanted, but is it the way a babyface should win a championship and cash in their Money In The Bank? That’s the only issue I had. Yes, the crowd did love it, but at the same time, babyfaces don’t do it that way. Maybe, if she came in and said to Ronda Rousey, ‘I want to cash this in, are you ready?’ And Ronda said, ‘Okay,’ and then do it, then you can make a case for that.”

“Is it the way a babyface should win a championship and cash in their Money In The Bank?”

Jimmy Korderas on Liv Morgan’s Money in the Bank cash-in

Faces Cashing In

While babyfaces have cashed in Money in the Bank in the past, it is rare to see them cash in on a fellow babyface.

In 2006, Rob Van Dam announced in advance he was cashing in on face WWE Champion John Cena, who received a hostile reaction from the ECW One Night Stand 2006 crowd.

While Daniel Bryan, Kane, and CM Punk (in 2009) were all faces when they cashed in on babyfaces (Big Show, Rey Mysterio, and Jeff Hardy respectively,) the three briefcase holders all turned heel shortly after.

Ronda Rousey Made “Demand” About Losing the SmackDown Women’s Title

Ronda Rousey’s reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion is over, less than two months after it began. She captured the title on May 8 at WrestleMania Backlash. Her reign ended at at just 55 days with Liv Morgan successfully cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase.

Fans were surprised to see Rousey drop the title so suddenly, especially as her reign as Raw Women’s Champion from 2018 to 2019 was 231 days long, a record at the time.

Rousey’s Request

According to a source close to the Baddest Woman on the Planet, Rousey had already put plans in motion about her title loss early into her run as SmackDown Women’s Champion.

On social media, Rousey’s personal photographer said that the now-former Champion who “never wanted or asked” to win the title.

Rousey’s photographer also said that the “Baddest Woman on the Planet” had “demanded” that the most passionate member of the locker room be the one who defeat her for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

What’s next for Liv?

Morgan’s win this weekend marks her first Money in the Bank Ladder match victory and her first taste of Championship gold in WWE.

With Summerslam less than a month away, it’s expected that Morgan will defend her title on the July 30, Premium Live Event.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that the plan is for Morgan to defend against Rousey at Summerslam.

There has also been speculation that Charlotte Flair could be involved to reignite her feud with Ronda, who dethroned her for the title at WrestleMania Backlash.

WWE have yet to confirm the rumored SmackDown Women’s Championship match for the Summerslam card.

Plans For Liv Morgan at WWE SummerSlam

Liv Morgan made history on Saturday night by winning the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, cashing in on Ronda Rousey later in the show and capturing the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

We now look ahead to SummerSlam, where Morgan is slated to be featured in a top match on the summer spectacular.

Money in the Bank

Liv Morgan had a career-altering night at Saturday’s WWE Money in the Bank.

After winning the women’s MITB ladder match in the first match of the show, she would cash in on the same night after SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey successfully retained the title over Natalya.

After Ronda’s title defense, Liv ran to the ring and cashed in immediately. As soon as the match began, Rousey locked Morgan in the ankle lock.

Morgan then kicked Rousey’s bad knee that had been worked over in the match with Natalya, allowing Liv to roll her up and get the win.

SummerSlam Plans for Liv Morgan

On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that the current plan for Liv at SummerSlam on July 30 is to defend the title against Ronda.

There apparently has been some speculation that WWE might utilize Charlotte Flair and reignite her feud with Rousey at this upcoming event.

Charlotte has been off of WWE TV for a while after getting married to AEW star Andrade El Idolo.

Dave said, “Right now, the plan is Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, which kind of surprises me in a lot of ways, especially because they didn’t leave with any heat. Ronda just hugged her, walked out of the ring, and let her have her moment.

“They’ve been building for this with Liv Morgan for a while. It is interesting, though, as I think almost everybody figured it was going to be Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, and it’s not.”

As of right now, WWE has not yet confirmed these plans for Liv, Ronda, or Charlotte.

Wrestling World Reacts To Liv Morgan’s Emotional Money In The Bank Victory

Money In The Bank turned out to be the biggest night of the career of Liv Morgan. She finally reached the pinnacle of sports entertainment and realized her dream in an emotional night.

The female star competed in the Women’s Money In The Bank match. She won this match that opened the show after overcoming the challenge of Becky Lynch.

Though this wasn’t the end of the night for Morgan as she went on to cash in her contract on the same show. This came after Ronda Rousey successfully defended her SmackDown women’s championship against Natalya.

At one point it felt like Rousey will crush the dreams of her opponent. Ronda locked her in an ankle lock and despite efforts from Morgan she didn’t break it up.

However, Liv Morgan then attacked the leg of Rousey that got injured earlier in the PPV. This forced her to break the submission. Liv went on to pin the former UFC star to pick up a very emotional victory.

Liv Morgan Cashes In MITB Briefcase, Wins WWE SmackDown Women’s Title

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey made her latest defense against Natalya at the WWE Money in the Bank event. However, there was a surprise with Liv Morgan following the bout.

The match was technical as they focused on submissions. Ronda locked in the sharpshooter at one point. Natalya put her in the sharpshooter on the apron, but Rousey sent Natalya head first into the ring post. Natalya went for the sharpshooter again, but Rousey reversed and put her the armbar for the win.

Following the match, Morgan ran out to the ring and cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase that she won earlier in the night. Morgan attacked her, but Rousey put her in the ankle lock. Morgan kicked her in the bad knee and rolled her up for the win.

Liv Morgan Wins Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match

Liv Morgan is the latest Mrs. Money in the Bank.

Morgan won this year’s Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match as she beat Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi, and Becky Lynch from Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night.

Just like the men’s contest, she will have a contract that she can cash-in anytime that she wants within a year from this premium event.

The match saw notable spots such as Raquel hitting a double suplex to Shotzi and Becky on a ladder.  Morgan hit a powerbomb off the top of a ladder to Evans. Asuka was placed on a ladder between the apron and announce table and Lynch hit a leg drop. The finish saw Morgan kick Lynch off the ladder and got the briefcase.

Last year, Nikki A.S.H won the match and earned the contract where she later cashed in the following night on Monday Night Raw where she beat Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Title. She held the title for 33 days.

What are your thoughts on Morgan winning the contract? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

WWE Raw Superstars Annoyed by Waiting Times Between Matches

Each week, WWE Superstars appear on hours of programming which is aired around the world across various continents.

To keep producing WWE TV content, the company needs to work smoothly with its production team, who decides what airs and at what time in the shows.

Lately though, a new trend has begun emerging on TV, one that has left the roster furious.

An Unhappy Roster

According to Fightful Select, a lot of the Raw Superstars are unhappy with having to wait around for long periods of time before their matches begin.

Between commercials, video packages, recaps of earlier segments, and interviews, the waiting time after an entrance now regularly exceeds ten minutes.

Superstars who have complained to WWE’s higher-ups about the waiting time have been told that the TV show’s format “was what it was” and that these segments “improve the show flow” for fans watching at home.

One anonymous Superstar who was asked what they do during this wait said they “talk to the crowd, dance and get annoyed that I’m waiting that long.”

Liv’s 19-Minute Wait

One example of WWE Superstars having to wait far too long took place ahead of the main event of the May 30, edition of Raw.

On the show, Liv Morgan had her entrance ahead of a match with her former Tag-Team partner Rhea Ripley, but the two didn’t lock up for nearly 20 minutes.

Superstars have reportedly seen this as a particularly egregious waiting time for Morgan, who would go on to defeat Ripley.

Alexa Bliss Responds to Rumors of Possible Tag Team with Liv Morgan

Alexa Bliss is no stranger to tag teams and many are wondering if she’ll be aligned with Liv Morgan in the near future.

On the June 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, Bliss competed in a fatal four-way match to determine the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship.

Morgan was also in the match and there were many moments where she and Bliss worked together against Rhea Ripley and Doudrop. Ultimately, Rhea won the match.

Liv & Bliss?

During an interview for WWE Deutschland, Alexa Bliss responded to rumors of her possibly teaming with Liv Morgan and whether or not she’d be interested:

“Of course. My past has shown that I don’t do too well with tag teams. Somehow, I always end up having major falling outs with my tag team partners. But I think it would be a lot of fun to tag with Liv, especially ’cause she’s super talented.

“We’ve all seen videos of her in the ring. She gets this energy from somewhere I don’t even know, because I drink so much caffeine a day and I still can’t get to her level of energy, so kudos for that.

“She’s super talented… yeah, it would be a lot of fun to tag with Liv and it was fun working with her in the Fatal Four-Way match.

“Sometimes, even though you’re against someone you gotta work with them to take down the people who are a little bit stronger, a little bit more powerful, but, yeah, I think it would be a lot of fun.”

WWE Teases New Tag Team on Monday Night Raw

WWE may be forming a new tag team on the Raw brand.

It’s no secret that the WWE women’s tag team division is lacking. This was evident even before Sasha Banks and Naomi made their abrupt exit from the May 16 episode of Raw.

Now that the tag titles are vacant and WWE plans to run a tournament, the lack of depth is even more prevalent.

Alexa Bliss & Liv Morgan Forming Team?

During the June 6 episode of WWE Raw, Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan competed in a fatal four-way to determine the number one contender for Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship. Also involved in the match were Rhea Ripley and Doudrop.

Ripley ultimately won the match but fans took notice of potential team chemistry brewing between Alexa and Liv.

The two were working together quite often throughout the match and appeared to enjoy the success they were having.

Late last month, it was reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title tournament was essentially “dead in the water” due to a lack of teams.

If the teamwork from Alexa and Liv is any indication, the company may be looking to add depth to the division.

Jim Cornette Thinks Liv Morgan is “Too Girly” for Wrestling Business

Jim Cornette has another take that is sure to ruffle some feathers.

Liv Morgan become a bit of a favorite to WWE fans. She has been praised for her efforts and some believe she should be pushed to world title status someday.

Don’t tell that to Jim Cornette, who believes Liv is “too pretty” for the wrestling industry.

Cornette Not Sold on Liv

During an edition of his Jim Cornette Experience podcast, the former WWE manager said he doesn’t feel Liv belongs in the wrestling business.

“They’ve been fighting every week, Liv Morgan does not grow on me, she is too girly to be a wrestler. Rhea Ripley has to not only bend over backward but has to do the limbo to make it believable that Liv Morgan is hanging in there with her, right?

“But when Rhea and Liv got in there, again Ripley is everything I like about women’s wrestling and Morgan is the opposite. She’s too small, her sh*t it’s awkward, she’s trying to do sh*t to bigger people and they’re trying to let her, it doesn’t come across. I don’t… she’s too pretty… I just don’t see it.”

Morgan took part in a mixed six-person tag team match at Hell in a Cell. She also competed in a fatal four-way to determine the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship.

Liv Morgan Vows to Buy Fan Tickets After WWE Takes Away His Sign

Liv Morgan promises to help a wrestling fan after WWE confiscated his sign.

The incident took place on the May. 2 episode of Monday Night Raw, which took place in Greensboro, North Carolina. Morgan had a tag team match with Asuka and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair against Sonya Deville, Becky Lynch, and Rhea Ripley. Positively Wrestling Co-Host Stephen Davidson posted on Twitter that he spent $600 for front-row seats to show his support to Morgan. However, WWE took his sign that said “Liv $old This Seat.”

Davidson shared that the company didn’t say why they had confiscated it. He also added he’ll talk about the incident in detail on May. 6 for the next podcast episode.

Morgan noticed the Davidson tweet and thanked him for the support. She added that she would buy him tickets to the event the next time they were back in his town.

Liv Morgan Feud With Rhea Ripley

Morgan is currently in a feud with her former tag team partner Ripley. After several unsuccessful attempts at winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship, Ripley turned on Morgan on the Apr. 18 episode of Monday Night Raw.

In a backstage promo on the Apr. 25 episode of Monday Night Raw, Ripley said, “…When I first came here, I became the Raw Women’s Champion all on my own. Since then, I’ve been tossed into the tag division surrounded by tag partners that do nothing but bring me down to their level and make me weak.” Shortly after, Morgan attacked Ripley to further the feud.

It’s unclear if Morgan will challenge Ripley at Wrestlemania Backlash on May. 8. They are not on the card, but WWE could always add them to the event.

Liv Morgan Is A Big Fan Of NXT 2.0 & Cora Jade

WWE star Liv Morgan has given her seal of approval for NXT 2.0 and one of its bright young talents.

The NXT brand has undergone a change in recent months. Gone are the days of the black and yellow logo and a focus on proven indie talent. Instead, WWE has reverted back to making NXT a developmental hub with an emphasis on younger and bigger talent.

Praise For NXT 2.0

Liv Morgan has made a name for herself on the main roster after spending three years in NXT. Speaking to TV Insider, Liv expressed her belief that NXT 2.0 is in good hands and that Cora Jade’s stock is rising.

“Love her. I think they are doing a great job at NXT. I feel they are creating stars. The same core group of girls is really trying to grow. Trying to let everyone shine and showcase everyone to see what they can do.

“It’s so important to give opportunities to other people. I love Cora. I love Amari [Miller]. Tiffany [Stratton] is funny; I think she is going to be great. She is clearly athletic, but so new. I think with more experience she is going to be great. I love Toxic Attraction, Indi [Hartwell].

“There are so many girls who are going to be amazing. Eventually, when they come to Raw and SmackDown, they will be even more amazing.”

NXT 2.0 has been a polarizing change. Most fans are in agreement that the likes of Jade and Bron Breakker have been welcome additions to the brand.

Time will tell if this change will ultimately lead to more new stars for WWE.

Liv Morgan Reveals Her Dream WrestleMania Scenario

With the WrestleMania season being just around the corner, WWE superstars have started talking about their ambitions for the biggest wrestling show of the year. This includes Liv Morgan who has yet to win a championship in WWE. Her ideal WrestleMania scenario is winning her first-ever title at the grandest stage of them all.

Morgan recently had an interview with Barstool Wrestling. In the interview that took place before this week’s episode of Raw, the female star was asked about her dream WrestleMania scenario. Replying to it Liv, who competed in a triple threat #1 contender match at the red branded show on Monday, said that she would either like to win her first title at the show of shows or defend it:

“This is a hard question because I want to say that my ideal situation is that I win my first ever title on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. But in my mind, I’m like, ‘I’m going into this triple threat match for number one contendership for a title match at the Royal Rumble.’

So I am like ‘I’ve gotta walk into this match thinking I’m gonna win. So that I can go into Royal Rumble and win.’ And if I do win, then that kind of changes the stakes of my dream WrestleMania scenario. But I’d also love to be a defending champion at WrestleMania.”

Liv Morgan Wants Her Journey To Culminate At WrestleMania

Liv Morgan mentioned how winning the championship at Mania would be a cool culmination of her journey. She also unsurprisingly revealed Becky Lynch as her choice of opponent for either of the scenarios:

“So I think those are my two ideal scenarios, either win the title, off of Becky at WrestleMania. My first-ever title on the grandest stage of them all, which is such a cool culmination of this journey that I’ve had of trying and losing and trying and losing and trying and losing and finally getting the big one when it means the most.

But I kind of want to think bigger than that. So I would like to go into WrestleMania [as a] champ and maybe Becky wants a rematch if I didn’t give her one already. Those are my two dream scenarios. I’m either gonna be champ or I’m gonna be defending champ and win and just have the best WrestleMania ever.”

Liv Morgan Praises Mandy Roses’ NXT Title Run

WWE RAW Superstar Liv Morgan recently discussed Mandy Rose returning to NXT and the former main roster Superstar’s run as NXT Women’s Champion.

Speaking on Robbie Fox’s “My Mom’s Basement” podcast, the former Riott Squad member said that Rose is doing a “phenomenal” job as Champion.

“I love, I absolutely love Mandy Rose as NXT Women’s Champion, I think she’s doing so phenomenal” Liv Morgan revealed.

“I think she has grown so much too, just in the last couple of months. Being put in this position of, you know, you’re like the ‘top b-tch’ you’re the ‘head b-tch in charge’. You know this is your division. And so, I think that this is cool, I enjoy watching it and it feels refreshing” Morgan added.

Liv Morgan vs Becky Lynch

Morgan is expected to be challenging for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble event against Becky Lynch.

There is a chance however that the match could be changed, as the ending to their WWE Day 1 contest was botched and Lynch appeared to just get a clean pinfall win over Morgan rather than with her foot on the ropes, giving Morgan an out to get another match.
