  • Bray Wyatt Says WWE Didn’t Know How To Use The Wyatt Family, Teases New Members

Bray Wyatt was a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast during WrestleMania 32. Topics discussed include WWE not knowing how to use The Wyatt Family, how he came up with the Bray Wyatt character, Luke Harper’s injury and his plan to face Brock Lesnar in the not too distance future. Here are some highlights of what Bray said about:

    Luke Harper’s knee injury:

“Without him it’s so weird because it [has] never been without him. He’s my captain. It was mine and his before Rowan and Braun were ever involved. And it’s going to be hard. But a soldier falls and drops his flag, the next soldier comes by, picks it up. Hopefully, we’ll get more Wyatts. They can’t replace Harper. That’s impossible, but just an army of Wyatts. We never need to have any titles. We never need to feud with anyone. We should just come out every show, just 20 Wyatts and just mutilate someone for no reason because that’s who we are.”

WWE not knowing how to use the Wyatt Family:

“I don’t think, when we set out and finally got the call up, I don’t know if they really understood what they had. Like, we knew the NXT crowd had responded so well to us and they kind of like attached themselves to us and when we came up here we, never in a million years, thought it was going to explode the way it did. And it did. It exploded. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it was just that kind of thing, the right place at the right time. And we were so different, man. We were so different that I don’t think the company knew even how to use us. ‘What are these things?’ Like, we were so different and in the promos [and] so different in the way we looked and how we moved. We were big and we would fly and do all this crazy stuff. Like, I don’t think anyone expected us to be so complete. And they still don’t know how to use what we are.”

Luke Harper On His Ambitions As A Singles Superstar, Success Of The Wyatt Family

One of the original members of The Wyatt Family, Luke Harper, recently appeared as a guest on the Chad Dukes Wrestling Show and spoke about the level of success The Wyatt Family has achieved this early into their WWE run, as well as some of his own personal ambitions as a singles star one day. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On his WWE career ambitions as a singles star:

“I want to win every title that this promotion has. I want to be the World Heavyweight Champion, on my own, I want to be the Intercontinental Champion, want to be the U.S. champion, wanna be a Tag Champion, I personally want all of that for myself. But at the same time, I have brothers at arms that we are very successful together and I understand that part of it too. I don’t know why I would be here if I didn’t want a championship.”

On The Wyatt Family’s success already and how they still have “another level” of success to attain:

“We’ve dominated lots of people, we’ve beat up lots of people, we’ve sent a lot of messages, we’ve been successful, but there’s another level of success that we have yet to attain and that we want to attain.”

  • Luke Harper On The Wyatt Family Adding A Creepy Female, Getting Yelled At By Vince

WWE Superstar and Wyatt Family member Luke Harper recently appeared as a guest on Chris Jericho’s “Talk Is Jericho” podcast and spoke about getting yelled at by Vince McMahon, what he feels should be done with The Wyatt Family and more.

During the interview, The Wyatt Family member spoke about getting yelled at by Vince McMahon the night he won the I-C title due to not using a Southern accent in his pre-match promo.

“I won the Intercontinental title, I beat Ziggler for it. Yeah, I thought it was great. I thought everything was good. [I] came to the back and Vince yelled at me because I didn’t speak in a southern accent, so [it] kind of put a damper on things for a little bit.” Harper added, “I had to say, ‘I’m a team player’ [in the prematch promo], but I had to say it southern because that was his vision of me and it might still be. I hope not. Yes, and our vision of it is our people come from everywhere. [Bray Wyatt’s] message is nationwide. He’s from the bayou, but us, his followers, aren’t necessarily. We kind of pick and choose where he got us.”

He also spoke about his feeling that he didn’t get a fair run with the Intercontinental Title.

“I was pissed because I thought I didn’t get a fair run with [the title], really. I hadn’t really done anything with it.” Harper continued, “I thought ‘this is bulls–t.’ So I remember talking to Dolph and I said, ‘hey man, I want to do something special here because I’m pissed.’ It was in Cleveland [Ohio], his hometown, so it was, like, again, a perfect storm of stuff.”

Harper also revealed some advice he received from John Cena after he lost the I-C strap.

“I was told by one of the top guys in the [professional wrestling] business, John Cena, that if you have an at bat and you hit a double or something or you hit a single, you’ll get another at bat, so that [has] always been my mindset now. When I get the ball, do what I can with it. Control what I can control. And if I can go out there and do something special, then, that makes them happy and it makes everybody happy, I’ll get another at bat.”

Finally, Harper touched on what he feels should be done with the Wyatt Family faction, agreeing with Jericho that they should add a “creepy girl” to the mix.

“New blood. I’ve always said that, I thought with a cult like that, we should always have kind of [new members joining] and [grow] bigger.” Harper continued, “I think [adding a woman] gives us more diverse things and more ways to go instead of just saying, ‘hey, we’re going to beat you up.’”

The ECW Original made his way to the ring with a trash can full of weapons, which led to he and The Dudleyz teaming on to take on The Wyatt Family in a match on RAW. The match ended up finishing in a no contest, with Bubba Ray putting Bray through a table after the match to end the segment.

  • Luke Harper On His First Interaction With Vince, Breaking In To WWE

Wyatt Family member Luke Harper was Chris Jericho’s guest on the most recent installment of the Talk is Jericho podcast. You can listen to the full interview over at PodcastOne.com.

Harper spoke about a number of topics, including his previous career as a librarian, his time wrestling on the independent scene, The Wyatt Family, his beard and much more. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Almost Missing The Chance To Work For WWE:

“Two days after I had my child in January [2011], I got called by Johnny Ace. And the other best part about that is that I missed his call because I was in the hospital, so he left a message, his number cuts out. So I instantly called Claudio Castagnoli [Cesaro] to say, ‘Please tell me you have Johnny Ace’s number’ and he said, ‘Yeah, here it is right here.’”

Cesaro, Rollins & Ambrose Vouching For Him at FCW:

“I was told again [WWE] were looking for guys over six foot whatever that could work. And so Claudio Castagnoli was down there, Tyler Black who is now Seth Rollins, and Jon Moxley who is Dean Ambrose, kind of all were close to Joey and said, ‘hey, there’s a kid out there that’, I use the term, ‘kid’, loosely, ‘there’s a guy out there who can work and is tall and whatever and no one’s ever called him.’”

His First Interaction With Vince McMahon:

“My first real one was, we started doing the Uso feud like maybe a year into our thing. And I don’t know if it was the two out of three falls match or the one before at Money In The Bank, where we killed it. And we came to the back and he stood up and he hugged each one of us and he goes, ‘you go to that locker room and you tell these motherf–kers to follow that!’”

  • John Cena Added To First WWE SmackDown Taping For The USA Network

WWE has officially added John Cena to the January 5th SmackDown television taping at the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas. That will be the first taping for SmackDown on the USA Network.

With tickets scheduled to go on sale for the taping on November 23rd, there had been some concern that there were not enough big stars advertised for the show. The plan since WWE announced that SmackDown was moving to the USA Network has been to load up the show with star power.

The updated lineup for the 1/5 SmackDown taping in Laredo now features Cena, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Sheamus, Bray Wyatt, Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, Luke Harper, Braun Strowman and more.

  • What Happened After Monday’s RAW: Ambrose-Reigns Promo, 8-Man Tag Match

After Monday night’s WWE Survivor Series “go-home” edition of RAW went off the air, Bray Wyatt came back out. Wyatt spoke about Survivor Series briefly before calling out Roman Reigns.

This led to an eight-man post-show dark match for the live crowd at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. The match ended up mostly consisting of guys doing their finishers and other big spots.

The match featured Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman taking on Reigns, Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose. Ultimately, everyone fought to the back and in the end, Reigns and Ambrose were left alone in the ring.

Ambrose took the mic and said the two would win their matches and meet in the finals to determine the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Reigns agreed and said they’d always be brothers.

  • Undertaker And Partners To Face The Wyatt Family In Elimination Match At Survivor Series?

WWE is focusing the advertising for the November 22nd Survivor Series pay-per-view on the fact that it will be The Undertaker’s 25th anniversary at the annual event. You can check out the video promo for Survivor Series 2015 below.

Based on the finish of last night’s Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, it looks like Undertaker will be facing the four members of The Wyatt Family in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match.

Last night’s show ended with Taker losing to Brock Lesnar in their “Final Battle” inside Hell In A Cell, and then Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan dragged “The Dead Man” to the back after attacking him.

  • Erick Rowan’s Return, Rumor Killer On Luke Harper Missing RAW

Erick Rowan was brought back to WWE television this week because the company had booked The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family as the main event for RAW on Monday night in Dallas, Texas.

That was the storyline that they wanted for the show, and while there were some reports that claimed there was a creative decision to replace Luke Harper on the show, that is not the case. Harper actually had a family issue so WWE was forced to replace him.

Rowan was already in the process of training for his WWE return. It was reported back in June that Rowan would be out of action for six months, so the fact that he returned after only four months from a torn biceps is considered an impressive accomplishment.

  • Original Plans For Mystery Partner In Night Of Champions Six-Man Tag-Team Match

As reported this weekend, WWE is teasing a six-man tag-team match with a mystery partner at the WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view.

Originally, the man expected to fulfill the role as the third “mystery” member of the team of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to take on The Wyatt Family trio consisting of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Braun Strowman, was “The Icon” Sting.

Instead, as noted in our original report, the leading candidate at this point as the mystery member of the Reigns-Ambrose team is none other than former Wyatt Family member Erick Rowan.

It should be noted that until further notice, this should be taken strictly as speculation at this point.

  • Luke Harper Talks About His “Dirty Shirts,” Wyatt Family’s Start In NXT & More

WWE Superstar Luke Harper recently spoke with the Chad Dukes Wrestling Show to promote this month’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On The Wyatt Family matches with The Shield: “The first run or match with The Shield always stands out to me, our matches, our wars. The feeling was electric before we even touched and it was my family looking down the line and I’m looking across at three guys that were on top of the hill, the big dogs, and we knew they need to be knocked down. Since we had come to WWE, the Shield and the Wyatts were always on a path to meet, a path to see who was better, and if you look at the results the Wyatt Family actually came out of those quite well and will do it again in Summer Slam and for as long as the Shield boys want to keep doing it. ”

On The Wyatt Family starting in NXT: “Basically, the Wyatt Family laid the bricks that the NXT house is now built on.”

On if the tank-tops that he wrestles in are clean: “Obviously, I’m not a Neanderthal, I do do laundry, I am a human being. I can just not do laundry. That’s utterly ridiculous. I have several different shirts. I don’t know if that’s going to disappoint anybody out there, but I was I have a very rigorous warmup where I get a good sweat going before a match to prepare for battle. That is what people see, that is what people mistake for dirtiness.”
