Preview Upcoming “Total Divas” Episodes, Maria Kanellis’ Boyfriend Defends Her Vocal Opinion

The official YouTube account of WWE has released a video previewing additional episodes of E!s Total Divas.

Highlights include the crew partying in Las Vegas, John Cena, Daniel Bryan and The Bella Twins jet-setting together, Brie referencing various Twitter users labeling Nikki as “fat,” John asking Nikki to meet his family, Cameron acknowledging her small bust, Nikki feeling threatened by Eva Marie, Natalya appeared sexually frustrated with Tyson Kidd, Eva Marie taking off her engagement ring for a business meeting with Fandango, JoJo having a rough start in WWE, Stephanie McMahon threatening to terminate Eva Marie’s contract, Naomi getting physical with Jey Uso and Nikki being hauled in an ambulance.

During last night’s premiere episode, former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis posted numerous messages on Twitter slamming the twin duo’s real-life characters—she has claimed multiple times in recent weeks that Nikki and Brie prevented her from returning to the sports-entertainment organization earlier this year through political means. This drew a great negative reaction from fans on the social media outlet. Her boyfriend, Ring of Honor wrestler Mike Bennett, posted a statement on Twitter on Monday defending her right to speak out.

“Funny that the same people who complain about what’s wrong w wrestling, are the same ones who blast someone when they speak out against it,” Bennett wrote. “Nobody gets anywhere by going w the crowd. stand up for what u believe in, or just keep ur mouth shut and follow blindly.

He continued, “I respect someone who has the balls to speak up,and if that makes them bitter and jealous. What does it make the ones who r afraid to speak.”

Kanellis added, “Family, fancy, friends, dogs, morals, and career are all things I will ALWAYS protect. No one has the right to do damage to my future.”

Total Divas Trends Number One Worldwide, Jim Ross Recalls Dealing With Divas, Maria

WWE had several keywords trend worldwide during the series premiere of their new weekly E! reality show, “Total Divas” on Sunday. In fact, for a long period of time, “#TotalDivas” was trending number one overall worldwide. Other top keywords included Nattie, Eva Marie, John Cena, WWE and Nikki.

Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis, who recently tweeted that The Bella Twins prevented her and others from returning to WWE in the past, took a shot at the identical duo in a tweet following “Total Divas” on Sunday. “Awwwww poor Bellas,” she started off. “Kharma is a bitch,” she noted, referencing the scene where the Bella Twins were informed that their match at WrestleMania was cut. Maria concluded, “but I feel bad for the Funkadactyls.”

Maria Kanellis Addresses WWE Return Rumors, Drama With Other WWE Divas

Former WWE Diva recently spoke to Slam.Canoe.Ca about recent reports that she was in talks with WWE about appearing at WrestleMania – and rumors that there are people in WWE who don’t want to work with her. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Recent Talks With WWE Before WrestleMania:

“I did get contacted by WWE at the end of January, beginning of February, something like that, and for about a month, I was in talks with WWE,” Kanellis said. “We talked about contracts, I had no problem with anything that was in the contract; but about a month after, they called back and said they weren’t moving forward with the storyline.”

Reports of WWE Divas Not Wanting to Work With Her:

“I’m friends most of the girls, I talk with a lot of them at least once a week if not a couple times a week, so I don’t know where that comes from,” she said. “I’m completely happy with WWE and I believe they’re completely happy with me as well, so if that opportunity ever were to arise again and I wasn’t locked up on something else, I would love to go back.”

“I can’t imagine them being that immature to say something like that. This is a business world and I treat wrestling as a business as well as my passion. I just can’t imagine anybody doing that and being that silly. As far as I know it was just a storyline thing.

Past Issues With People In WWE:

I get along with pretty much everyone; I don’t have those issues. I had disagreements with people in the past, but I really worked hard to get rid of those disagreements. I really want to live my life with positivity. I don’t want any kind of animosity out there about me. When I first got out of WWE, I was fiery and all that kind of stuff, but now, looking back, WWE was a great experience for me and I’m so glad I got to do everything I did there.”

Maria Kanellis Talks About Her Future With ROH & WWE

Ringbelles’ Women Of Wrestling Podcast interviews Maria Kanellis about a range of topics incorporating her current status with Ring Of Honor, which she clarifies following reports that she and fiancé Mike Bennett were looking to finish up with the promotion:

“I never said that I was done with Ring Of Honor. I just said that WWE had contacted me… Ring Of Honor is still me home.”

As part of the interview, Maria discusses how far down the road she got with negotiations for a return to WWE, and her thoughts on rumours that her proposed return was nixed:

“I don’t think that the Bella Twins could be so immature – I always found them to be very mature and business minded so I can’t imagine them doing that. Unfortunately we may never know the truth unless we get it from the horse’s mouth. I try not to play too much into rumours because that can get you into a lot of trouble.”

Maria explains why she publicly apologised to Barbie “Kelly Kelly” Blank on Twitter earlier this week:

“As you get older you start looking at things… you kinda leave all the stupidity of past angers behind. It’s about making peace with everything that I’ve ever had a problem with in the past and I think that Barbie’s extremely talented; I think that she’s a fan favourite and I just don’t want any negativity in my life anymore. I want to apologise for any time there was an argument.”

They also cover her time after the Diva Search in Ohio Valley Wrestling, where she was under the wing of Paul Heyman:

“Paul’s a great friend of mine. I always say that I’m a Paul Heyman lady. That’s really where my career began – when he started working with me, and really started believing in me is when I started believing in myself.”

They talk about Sara Del Rey training the next generation of WWE Divas and hear all about her relationship with Mike Bennett (including wedding details and their engagement story). They discuss how she got her start in wrestling via the Diva Search, and developing the ditzy character that eventually became her trademark in WWE. They talk Fit Finlay‘s influence on the Divas Division, some of her favorite WWE memories, including where her Slammy Award is now.

I will make whatever I do awesome. I just made Twitter absolutely awesome and the 1 million Mizfits proved that!”

– Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis is denying reports that she was inducting Bob Backlund in the WWE Hall of Fame. She tweeted this week:

Michelle McCool Talks About Maria Kanellis – Working On Strengths Instead Of Exposing Weaknesses, Diva Search

MichelleMcCool.Net has released more highlights from their recent interview with former WWE diva Michelle McCool, wife of the Undertaker.

In General: “I don’t have one bad thing to say about her — she’s great! All the years that we were there together, which was pretty much both our entire careers on the road, not one altercation. Not one difference. We just got along. That all started through the Diva Search. Obviously, neither one of us won, but I remember watching RAW a few weeks after the Diva Search ended, and King was on commentary. He mentioned that one of the cast offs was going to be making their debut on RAW, then they opened up a magazine — and it was Maria! I got so excited for her, because her dream was coming true. She was one of the few [contestants] that actually followed wrestling, and she made no qualms about wanting to be an announcer. I just thought that was awesome.”

Life’s A Ditz: “She ended up with the ditzy gimmick for a while, but people don’t realize that she’s not ditzy — she’s actually extremely smart. Business-wise: she’s very savvy, and I admire that about her.”

Working with Maria: “She was on RAW for most of the time when I was on SmackDown, but there were several cross-over shows where we did get to work together — before she eventually moved to SmackDown when she got drafted. She was a fun babyface to work against; she can sell like crazy and the fans always got behind her. She was that underdog, and she was cool. She was all about business. She got it: she was willing to make sacrifices. She understood what some people can’t always understand; she understood that as a babyface, she was going to get beat up. She’d end up being able to return the favor, but she was never one to be like: “All I’m doing is getting beat up!” So, she was fun to work. I really enjoyed working her.”

Maria The Wrestler: “Everyone always said that she wasn’t a wrestler, and that she shouldn’t do this or that. I think it’s all about working together and working on people’s strengths — instead of trying to expose their weaknesses. I think that’s just what you have to do.” […] “We didn’t have a long stint together, but she was really cool. She was a good worker, a hard worker… she was committed, and I was sad to see her go. I don’t know that we’ve seen the last of her, and I hope to see her again. I miss her — I think she’s going to do big things.”

Making The Transition: “I turned heel on Maria, and when I turned, I gave her a pretty good beating. She took it like a champ, an absolute champ! I remember Arn Anderson always used to say: “You can’t be a heel! I don’t want it, why are they turning you; I don’t want you as a heel!” Then, he ended up coming back to me and saying: “Why were you ever a babyface — you should have always been a heel!” Maria helped in that. You always want that one person that if you’re gonna make a turn, you’re gonna want to make the biggest impact possible — which, at the time, beating down Maria was making the biggest impact possible.”

Diva Search And Beyond: “I knew I liked her in the Diva Search, but then I remember watching her in the DVD, I don’t remember which one it was, but anyway, she ended up giving me a shout out. She was saying something about my body, and how cool she thought I was, and I was like: “Alright, I knew I liked this girl.” The friendship formed and the friendship hasn’t ended. I don’t think that it ever will.”

Raw To Remain A Three-Hour Show, Former WWE Diva Gets Engaged, Jerry Lawler/JBL/Mean Gene Celebrate Birthdays

– Despite Comcast listing a rerun of NCIS: Los Angeles for this Monday night on the USA Network at 8:00 p.m., Raw will remain three hours in its regular time slot.

WWE officials confirmed to F4WOnline.com Wednesday night that Raw will remain a three-hour show airing from 8:00 to 11:05 p.m. The cause of this miscommunication is currently unknown.

– Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis announced on Twitter Wednesday night that she is engaged to be married to Ring of Honor wrestler Mike Bennett. She tweeted a photo of her engagement ring.

After parting ways with WWE in 2010, Kanellis largely kept away from the professional wrestling industry until meeting Bennett through Twitter last year. She regularly accompanies him to independent events as his valet and now holds the position of creative director of Crossfire Wrestling in Nashville, Tennessee.

– Today marks as the 63rd birthday of WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler. Also sharing birthdays with “The King” are fellow WWE broadcaster John “Bradshaw” Layfield, who turns 46-years-old, and WWE Hall of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund, who turns 70.

Taliban Uses Former WWE Diva’s Photos To Lure Aussie Troops Into Giving Away Military Secrets

Taliban insurgents are posing as “attractive women” on Facebook to befriend Australian soldiers and gather intelligence about operations. There is a wrestling tie as one of the accounts the militant group created features photos of former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis.

PCWorld.com has posted an article on the matter, which features a screenshot of a phony Facebook profile with an image of Kanellis displayed.

The tech-savvy Taliban are using these fake profiles to befriend Australian soldiers and gather information based on their Facebook updates. The social networking website features a geo-tagging function, which logs the location from which posts are made. If a soldier posts something while they’re in the field, their location is revealed.

Three Australian soldiers were murdered inside their base month, allegedly by an Afghan Army trainee.

Many soldiers did not realize that people using fake profiles can capture information and movements, according to the Australian Government’s review of social media and defense. The review found an “overt reliance” on privacy settings had led to “a false sense of security” among troops.

Australian soldiers are being given pre-deployment briefings on the matter and the Australian Department of Defence is currently working on new social media guidelines.

Former Diva Praises WWE’s Anti-Bullying Campaign, Eve Wrongly Labeled Divas Champion

– During Raw Monday, former WWE performer Maria Kanellis praised her former employer’s anti-bullying efforts with “be a STAR.” She tweeted, “I really love everything @wwe does with #BeASTAR.”

A follower of hers deemed WWE’s stance against bullying hypocritical considering that many talents have been subject to blistering ridicule by organization higher-ups, both on-air and off: “How can they advocate non-bullying with all the on and off-camera bullying going on in that company?” The former Diva feels that WWE is making an honest effort to make bullying on their part a thing of the past.

“I think that @WWE is changing for the better! They are moving in a great direction and it’s exciting. #BeASTAR,” she responded.

– WWE.com erroneously labeled Eve as Divas Champion in their main page write-up of Kaitlyn becoming the No. 1 Contender to the title on Raw. The website wrote, “In a No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal on Raw, Kaitlyn outlasted all of her competitors and eliminated Eve to become the new No. 1 contender to Divas Champion Eve.” Click here to view a screenshot of the error, which has since been corrected.

Meanwhile, Natalya was not pleased with the match result. She tweeted, “I’m not happy for @KaitlynWWE – she didn’t deserve to win tonight. It was a complete fluke. Everyone, ESP @EveMarieTorres knows this!”

Maria Kanellis Cryptically Remarks About Kelly Kelly’s Personal Life

While recapping Monday’s episode of Raw for Maria Menounos’ media network AfterBuzzTV.com, former WWE performer Maria Kanellis used the open forum to cryptically remark about Kelly Kelly’s personal life.

The WWE Diva appeared on Raw for the first time in over two months and scored a singles match victory over Eve following a surprise hurricanrana. “There was a lot of speculation that [Kelly Kelly] was leaving for good. So they must have come to terms on her contract and she’s still here,” Kanellis states.

Co-host Josh Padgett and special guest Nigel McGuinness then ask Kanellis whether she had “backstage heat” with Kelly, who she worked alongside with in WWE from 2006 to 2010. She responds in a cryptic manner.

“I just think that sometimes you gotta be careful what photos end up on the Internet when people are involved with other people because it makes us girls that work our tails off to be very good individuals and be good at our job look trashy,” stated Kanellis, who prides herself in being a ‘Lady’.

McGuinness says he never saw “those photos” and feels that Kelly should set up her own website. “Trending now, naked pictures of Kelly Kelly,” he jokes. “The First Lady of Ring of Honor” responds, “I don’t mind those, naked it up if you’re by yourself, but if you’re with someone else’s someone else…I don’t like that. Scandalous and I don’t like it. It’s exact opposite of what I’m about. I think that you have to be careful with that stuff. Especially if you’re trying to change…”

At this point, Kanellis is directed by the producer to change the subject to Kelly’s match. She responds, “I don’t want to go the next match.” She then continues, “Especially if you’re trying to change the opinions people are having about a certain group of individuals. You know what I mean? I have a problem with that because I fought my entire life to try and be just as strong as men and just as smart, and of course, the first thing that happens, is I get a stupid gimmick. So what did I do? I got on Celebrity Apprentice. And as soon as I was out of WWE, I started to make a change with my life, but it was not random photos of me with someone else’s someone else—because they don’t go away.”

Regarding the photos in question, Kanellis appears to be referencing some images that surfaced online in early 2009 of Kelly canoodling with a married man in fellow WWE Superstar Chris Jericho—the batch included a shot of the two kissing. It has been heavily speculated that the two were involved in a secret romantic relationship then; a Google.com search for the term “chris jericho kelly kelly” leads to numerous suggest results including “chris jericho kelly kelly kissing,” “chris jericho kelly kelly dating,” “chris jericho and kelly kelly a couple” and “chris jericho kelly kelly together.”

Kelly appeared to respond to Kanellis’ cryptic remarks Tuesday evening via Twitter, herself cryptically stating, “I will never mention your name, you will never be relevant. If I have something to say about you, I will say it to you ? #thebiggerperson.”

Kanellis responded, “Relevant enough to call me. #IMALADY.” She then deleted the remark, but stands by her show comments.

She tweeted, “@afterbuzztv is a show about a show. Every show discusses the show, news and gossip. If you don’t like you’re dirty laundry aired maybe you should be more careful about what shows up on the Internet.”

Maria Talks About Leaving WWE, Working For TNA, DivaMania

Former WWE Diva and Playboy covergirl Maria Kanellis was recently interviewed by the Miami Herald newspaper.  Here are some highlights of what Maria said about:

Leaving WWE:

“It’s weird because you forget how busy you are when you are on the road. You’re on the road four or five days a week and sometimes going internationally for two weeks at a time, three weeks at a time. When you’re doing it, you don’t realize how crazy and hectic it is. Your body has to adjust to it.'”

“It’s very funny because I still have friends within WWE, and now seeing some of the other girls released, I’m so surprised.”There was a whole group of us that came in together. It was me, Melina, Mickie [James], Jillian [Hall]. We all came in about the same time, and a lot of us are no longer there anymore. It’s kind of funny how we all went in around the same time and left around the same time. I’m just happy about the future.”

The Possibility of Working For TNA Wrestling

“I never actually talked to [TNA] too much about it. I’m not saying I will never do it, but what I am saying is I’m completely focused on my acting career right now, and with pilot season coming up, I’m just super excited to be out here doing that. I’m in acting classes and working my tail off. I’ve been on tons of auditions.”

The Upcoming DivaMania Tour With Jillian Hall and Taryn “Tiffany” Terrell:

“I guess you get to party like a diva with a diva,” she said. “We are going to be there to have a good time and visit with people who are fans. Just really let loose after all the craziness with WWE. It’s our after party. I’m sure we will be sending lots of photos and videos.”

Aside from working on her singing career, Maria has also been acting. She will be appearing in the upcoming horror film “Manos: The Search For Valley Lodge,” scheduled for a 2013 release, along with former WWE star Gene Snitsky.

Maria “Shocked” By WWE Release, Says Divas Are Held Back

Former WWE Maria Kanellis appeared on the “One Sided Ring” podcat this week and said she says WWE holds back their Divas by not giving the division enough exposure or the women a chance to let their personalities across. Here are some highlights of what she said about:

Her Release: “The release came as a shock, but basically it comes down to that I wanted more rights and they weren’t willing to give them to me. It wasn’t a money thing or anything like that. I think we left on good terms. It was a great experience while I was there, I love all the Divas.”

Being Held Back: “I wasn’t allowed to do as much as I wanted to do. I had all these great, creative ideas and was constantly entering them into the WWE creative, but I couldn’t use a lot of them,” Maria said. “The Divas weren’t given enough time, which I think is a horrible, horrible disadvantage that the girls have. I felt like I was held back – all the time.

“I wonder what would really happen if the Divas were given that much time,” she said. “I don’t know if it’s that they think the Divas can’t sell tickets, but I truly believe in the Divas division and always will. I think they are missing out on a lot of talent right there.”

Being A Backstage Interviewer for MMA Events on HDNet: “That’s one reason I’m not sad [WWE] fired me. I got eight minutes of time on an MMA show to just talk to people and that was amazing,” she said. “WWE never gave me eight minutes the entire time I was there.”
