Matt Hardy Teases Raw Return? Becky Lynch Returning To SmackDown This Week

Matt Hardy Teases Raw Return?

This week’s episode of Raw saw the appointment of yet another authority figure as Baron Corbin asked Alexa Bliss to be his assistant and oversee the Raw Women’s Division.

After the show, ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy made the following tweet teasing a return to the brand saying that only he can fix the broken Raw:

It’s worth mentioning here that reports suggested that Alexa Bliss could replace Corbin as the GM of the Red Branded Show after TLC and the latest events on Raw seem to be supporting these rumors.

Becky Lynch Returning To SmackDown This Week

We noted before how WWE confirmed that AJ Styles will be returning to SmackDown Live this week, for the first time since losing his WWE Championship to Daniel Bryan.

Though now it has been revealed that he is not the only star who will return during the show as the company has announced that Becky Lynch will also make her return tonight.

Lynch has been away from the Blue Branded show since the go-home episode of Survivor Series PPV where it was revealed that the SmackDown Women’s Champion was not medically cleared for the PPV and Charlotte Flair was announced as her replacement.

Matt Hardy Reveals When He Finally Felt Accepted In WWE

Matt Hardy has had a tremendous career in the professional wrestling industry. Having competed since 1992 when he started the Trampoline Wrestling Federation (TWF) with his brother Jeff, the pair quickly began working the indy scene. He signed a full-time contract with WWE in 1998. Over his years with the company Hardy has won the ECW, Cruiserweight, United States, European, and Hardcore Championships.

He is also a 10-time Tag Team Champion in WWE, eight of those coming alongside his brother. Following his most recent run with WWE, Hardy has decided to retire from in-ring competition for the time being. He has been working various roles backstage with WWE in preparation for the next chapter of his career in the business.

Feeling Accepted

Recently, Hardy appeared on an episode of fellow Attitude Era star, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman’s podcast, “X-Pac 12360.” During their conversation, Hardy was asked when he finally began to feel accepted in WWE. Matt said that feeling didn’t come until he and Jeff were paired up with WWE Hall Of Famer Michael Hayes in 1999:

“I would probably say the very first time I felt that we were kind of accepted or like part of the machine was when we first got an opportunity to be with Michael Hayes and were repackaged and we won the tag titles.

“Even though obviously we weren’t the best representation of the best tag-team in the world, but it was like the titles would help us at that juncture. Around that point and then working Bradshaw and Farooq. After being with them for a month and them kicking the hell out of us night in and night out and then kind of half-ass earning their respect.

“I felt that was kind of the turning point. And then once we had the tag-team ladder match with Edge and Christian and it was like, ‘wow these guys did something special.’ We definitely felt like we belonged and were part of the family of the WWE locker room at that point.”

Matt Hardy Explains Who He’d Want To Induct Hardy Boyz Into WWE Hall Of Fame

Former WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy recently spoke with Sam Roberts at Ringside Collectibles’ Ringside Fest about various topics including who he would want to induct him and his brother, Jeff, into the WWE Hall of Fame.

This is when Matt stated that the person he would want would be someone who took them under his wing and taught them more about the wrestling business than anyone else. That is Michael P.S. Hayes. “I’m sure his intro would be long but it would be super good because he is entertaining as hell.”

WrestleMania 35 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium. This event airs on pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network. Hardy also asked who he would like to wrestle at this event, which he named WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, who just returned to the ring for a tag team match alongside Triple H against Kane and The Undertaker at the WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium.

Hardy stated, “If you have him back on the table, you just have to take advantage and utilize him.”

Matt Hardy Makes In-Ring Return At WWE House Show In Spain (Video)

Matt Hardy got involved in the action at a WWE house show in Spain this weekend. Hardy took part in a brawl to close a house show in Madrid. Video of his appearance can be seen below:

Is Matt Hardy Retired?

Hardy insinuated back in September that his in-ring career is possibly over. He never technically said he was retired though. He clarified his status recently on Lillian Garcia’s podcast.

“People throw around the word retirement where typically if someone teases that, it’s retirement, but retirement is not a word I ever said,” he explained.

Several social media posts by Hardy since August insinuated his career’s worth of injuries had begun to take their toll, however. He posted the following back in August:

Matt Hardy’s first official match in WWE was on May 23rd, 1994. He lost a single’s match to Nikolai Volkoff.

Hardy’s last official match was a September 15th, 2018 house show from Corpus Christi, Texas. The match was a triple threat for the WWE Raw tag-team championships along with Bray Wyatt. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre won the match and the B-Team were the other team involved. That was also the last time Bray Wyatt wrestled a match in WWE.

The House of Hardy Halloween Special debuted on the WWE Network on October 28th after the Evolution PPV. Hardy would later say on Lillian Garcia’s podcast that the show would be turned into a regular series on the network but no further details are available regarding this.

Matt Hardy Opens Up On Potential Retirement From Pro Wrestling

Matt Hardy was the most recent guest on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia to talk about various topics. Just last month, it was reported that Hardy would be taking an extended break to deal with nagging injuries and he has been “shadowing” WWE producers behind the scenes and is transitioning to a backstage role with the company.

Hardy addressed if he has retired from pro wrestling, which he stated that “People throw around the word retirement where typically if someone teases that, it’s retirement, but retirement is not a word I ever said.” He continued by stating that he said he needed to go home and did. He brought up how he’s not a spring chicken anymore and wrestled for 26 years. He needed to go home in order to deal with issues in his lower back and hips. He continued by stating that if he can bounce back from those issues and get back in the ring and be physical, that’s great. However, if it can’t then he’ll “do whatever we need to do on-air to figure out something entertaining” for himself.

Hardy also talked about being content with his career where he stated that when he steps outside of being a pro wrestler then he’s super happy with everything they did and on his own as his goal was to one day be the tag team champions of the WWE one time and they did that many times over. He stated, “If I walk away tomorrow and never wrestle another match again I’m good with everything I’ve done and achieved.”

Hardy continued by stating that when his career comes to an end, it’s not all about the title wins but rather how good of a performer you are and how relevant you can stay and how much you can change and evolve. It also has to do with a popularity standpoint and a financial standpoint. He added that he feels that he has done well on all of those levels.

Matt Hardy On His Return To WWE TV, Possible Changes To Current Gimmick

While at the start it appeared that Matt Hardy’s WWE career may be over, Hardy himself has broken this myth and talked openly about his return in recent interviews.

He gave one such interview to Cultura Colectiva while promoting the upcoming WWE Live Event from Mexico on December 1st and discussed the upcoming show, his return to WWE programming and more.

Hardy first discussed his upcoming House Hardy Network special saying that there is going to be a regular series featuring Woken/Broken Matt Hardy and his family.

Talking about his TV return, the former World Champion revealed some interesting details on the plans for his Broken character upon his comeback:

” I feel like when I return to WWE TV it’s gonna be—have you ever seen The Incredible Hulk when Bruce Banner got angry and turned into this green monster?—well, I feel you’re gonna have Matt Hardy and then there’ll be something that causes Matt Hardy to transform into Woken or Broken Matt Hardy.”

Apart from this Matt Hardy also talked about the upcoming Mexican event. The show which was originally advertised as a Raw Live Event has now been converted into a Dual Branded show.

So Matt talked about possibly teaming with his brother Jeff Hardy at the event, saying that he is going to petition to have the Hardy Brothers compete in a tag match.

House Of Hardy Halloween Special Release Date Revealed

Matt Hardy debuted on WWE programming when he was just 19-years-old in 1994. Now close to a quarter-century later, Hardy has moved his career behind the camera. Not only is the 44-year-old working as an agent, but he’s also filmed a Halloween special for the WWE Network. There is also speculation the special will serve as a pilot for a more regularly airing show.

According to a report from WWE Network News, the House of Hardy Halloween Special will begin airing on the network Sunday, October 28th, 2018 directly after the upcoming WWE Evolution Pay-per-view.

House of Hardy Halloween Special

Over the last few weeks, Hardy has been dropping hints regarding the special through social media. He Tweeted out a photo from the set after the crew had wrapped filming for the special.

Hardy returned to WWE in 2017 after creating a buzz around him and his brother’s Woken gimmicks. After leaving TNA Wrestling, however, the old-new management team would not allow the brothers to continue portraying the gimmicks. They could not bring the Broken Universe to either Ring of Honor or WWE. After Don Callis was named to the Impact Wrestling management team, the company reversed its stance, however. Now, Impact allows talent to continue performing as characters developed through their programming.

Matt Hardy Discusses Possibly Becoming WWE Producer, Retirement

Matt Hardy recently appeared as a guest on WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross’ weekly Ross Report podcast to talk about various topics. Just last month, it was reported that Hardy would be taking an extended break to deal with nagging injuries and he has been “shadowing” WWE producers behind the scenes and is transitioning to a backstage role with the company.

Hardy talked about potentially becoming a full-time producer or road agent for the company as he stated that it interests him and something that has been talked about. He brought up doing it in the past and possibility part of his future.

He stated that he’s confident once he returns to WWE TV that he’ll have a role on-screen but will also in a behind the scenes role. “I don’t know if that day could be in 4 weeks from now, or 4 years, or 10 years from now. But I’m sure I’ll do that at some juncture.”

Hardy also talked about potentially making the decision to retire from pro wrestling, which is something that people have asked him. He stated, “I’m at crossroads where I’m not 100% sure about what my in-ring future is, but as far as my television role on WWE that will 100% be something in the future.”

Hardy continued by stating that he’s not sure in what capacity exactly but doesn’t think retirement is something he’ll never do because of his passion and love for pro wrestling. He added that he wants to be involved in some way. “Retirement is not something that will be in my future.”

Matt Hardy Releases Teaser For Broken Universe WWE Network Special

Matt Hardy released a video on his personal YouTube account today. The video seems to be a teaser for the Broken Universe special expected to air on the WWE Network later this month.

Hardy explained to Senor Benjamin that there are dark forces gathering and he needs him to prepare the battlefield for massacre. He was then distracted by two of his pets sparring. Hardy revealed earlier this month that filming was taking place at the Hardy compound.

Matt Hardy From Wrestler To Producer

Although he never specifically used the word retirement, Hardy indicated last month he is stepping away from in-ring wrestling.

“Thank you for letting me live my dream for 26 years, wrestling fans,” Hardy wrote on his YouTube channel. “I don’t necessarily wish it was this way, but it’s time to go home. Time to go home and be a father. Time to go home and be a husband. I did so much more than I ever imagined I would do. Thanks for making this incredible journey with me, ladies and gentlemen. I love you all.”

Matt Hardy’s in-ring career might be over but his career behind the camera might just be beginning. The ever creative Hardy brother has moved into a producers role with the company and the Broken Universe special is to serve as a pilot for a potential reoccuring series.

Matt Hardy Teases New Network Special With Pic From Set

While Matt Hardy’s in-ring career might be finished, his career behind the camera likely is not. The ever-creative Hardy brother is believed to have just completed filming on a WWE Network pilot from the Hardy Family Compound.

The pilot is expected to air as a type of Halloween special later this month and serve as a pilot for a series. Matt Hardy recently shared a pic from the set of “Broken Universe”:

Previously, WWE has used footage owned by Impact Wrestling for the Hardy brothers DVD. It’s possible the pending Broken Universe pilot is why Impact Wrestling officials were spotted in Stanford, Connecticut recently. That is only speculation, however.

The Hardy Saga

Since returning to WWE on April 2nd, 2017, Hardy has only produced one Broken Universe style segment. The Ultimate Deletion would main event Raw that night, however. His rival at the time, Bray Wyatt, ended up being thrown into the Lake of Reincarnation. Wyatt was then freed from Sister Abigail, who had been using him as a vessel for some time.

Matt Hardy is a former ECW Champion (WWE’s version), Cruiserweight Champion, Raw tag champ 3x, WCW tag champ x1, United States Champion, European Champion, Hardcore Champion, World tag champ 6x, and won the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy in 2018.

Matt Hardy To Film Pilot Episode For Potential WWE Network Special

Although he is not a full-time superstar for the WWE right now, Matt Hardy continues to be creative and that could end up being shown on the WWE Network. WWE is planning to film a pilot for a Hardy special, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.

Over the weekend, Hardy teased in a post on his official Twitter account that there would be some guests coming to his compound in the near future in Cameron, North Carolina. According to the report, the special is slated to be filmed in early October and is only a pilot at this point. It could be turned into a series if greenlit.

If you recall, the company recently sent out a survey to their fans about potential WWE Network shows and one of those series was titled, House Hardy: Halloween special. According to the synopsis of the special, it would allow fans to “Go inside the WONDERFUL world of the Hardy family in this delightful short form scripted sitcom, featuring Matt and Jeff Hardy!”

On Sunday, Hardy tweeted the following, “#SenorBenjamin, I need you to prepare The Dome of DELETION & The Hardy Compound for…. CELEBRATION! #HouseHardy is expecting guests in the near future.. And also prepare the Battlefield for MASSACRE.. if needed. The #BROKEN Universe is ALIVE.. YEEAAAAAASSSSSS!!!”

It’s been well documented that Hardy will be taking an extended break to deal with nagging injuries. It later came out that Hardy has been “shadowing” WWE producers behind the scenes and is transitioning to a backstage role with the company.

Update On Jeff Hardy & Matt’s Compound After Hurricane Florence

Despite having been written off SmackDown Live due to injuries sustained at Hell In A Cell, Jeff Hardy is still competing at WWE Live Events. Hardy worked a WWE Live Event in Oklahoma City this past Monday night. He competed in a 6-person tag team match, teaming with AJ Styles and R-Truth. They defeated the team of Samoa Joe, Randy Orton and the United States Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura. He is scheduled this weekend’s WWE live events

There is no indication as to how long the WWE will keep Hardy off of WWE programming as they continue to sell the severity of the injuries suffered. WWE previously provided a storyline update on Hardy, stating that he had complained of “severe abdominal pains backstage.” It was then reported that he had begun to cough up blood whilst in transit to a hospital.

Woken Warrior

His brother, Matt Hardy, has also been in the news recently, with what appeared to be a retirement announcement.

Matt’s WWE contract expires next March. His future opportunities with the company allegedly depend on the continued treatment of his lower back and pelvis. If the treatment goes well, there may be a chance he could return to in-ring competition within the WWE.

As if undergoing treatment wasn’t enough, he and his family are undergoing a major clean up effort at the Hardy Compound, thanks to Hurricane Florence.

Matt Hardy Reveals Hardy Compound Badly Flooded By Hurricane Florence

Matt Hardy’s Hardy Compound was in the midst of the terrible hurricane that rocked the Carolinas this week. The compound has been the film location for several successful “Woken” and “Broken” vignettes. Many fans were wondering how the compound fared after the devastating storm.

We now have an update. Hardy took to Twitter and revealed that the Hardy Compound was badly flooded during the storm. He noted that they’re hard at work attempting to salvage what they can. Most importantly, Hardy also noted he and his family are safe:

“To everyone who has checked on us, my family is safe following the hurricane,” he wrote. “The Hardy Compound is badly flooded & we’re nonstop working to dry out & salvage what we can. Thanks you for checking on us & asking about our safety & the condition of our property. We appreciate it.

Matt Hardy’s WWE Career

Hardy recently decided to retire from in-ring competition in WWE. He announced earlier this week that it was time for him to go home and be a husband and father. Following 26 years in the business, Hardy has decided to hang up his boots.

Over his career, Hardy and his brother, Jeff, established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Their classic wars with The Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian will live on in infamy. Recent rumors suggest Hardy has been suffering from a back injury, which led to his decision to retire.

He has been learning the ropes of working as a producer backstage in WWE, meaning he might stick around a little while longer in a different capacity:

“Thank you for letting me live my dream for 26 years, wrestling fans,” Hardy wrote. “I don’t necessarily wish it was this way, but it’s time to go home. Time to go home and be a father.

“Time to go home and be a husband. I did so much more than I ever imagined I would do. Thanks for making this incredible journey with me, ladies and gentlemen. I love you all.”

Matt Hardy Retires, Thanks Fans (Video)

Matt Hardy appears Matt Hardy is retiring as a full-time active competitor. Hardy competed at Saturday night’s WWE live event from Corpus Christi, Texas. Afterwards, he posted a video on Youtube

“There’s been a lot of speculation for quite a while online if I’m going to be wrestling any longer or not, and WWE, fortunately, they let me fulfill all my advertised commitments,” Hardy said. “But tonight, here in Corpus Christi, this was the last advertised commitment I had. And I never say never, but tonight, here in Corpus Christi, is most likely the last time you’ll ever see Woken Matt Hardy in a WWE ring.”

Watch Matt Hardy announce his retirement:

Some fans are speculating that Matt Hardy is simply retiring his “Woken” character, but the ‘description’ of the above YouTube video clarifies that he is in fact stepping away from the ring.

“Thank you for letting me live my dream for 26 years, wrestling fans,” Hardy wrote. “I don’t necessarily wish it was this way, but it’s time to go home. Time to go home and be a father. Time to go home and be a husband. I did so much more than I ever imagined I would do. Thanks for making this incredible journey with me, ladies and gentlemen. I love you all.”

Team Xtreme

Matt Hardy debuted for the company as a teenager in 1994 before earning himself a contract in 1998. He would go on to great success with his brother, Jeff, as they would revolutionize tag team wrestling in legendary feuds against teams like The Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian.

It has been rumoured that Hardy has been suffering from a serious back injury, so transitioning to a backstage role would not only protect him but allow him to continue to contribute to the industry he loves so much.

Although yet to be confirmed by the WWE, the implication is clear. Sadly, it appears that Matt Hardy’s stellar in-ring career has come to an end.

Matt Hardy has fans talking yet again after another message he posted on his official Twitter account.

In the post after working Sunday’s event in Biloxi, MS at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, he noted that the show marked the last appearance there for his “Woken” character. He wrote, “Thank you so much, #WWEBiloxi. Tonight was the last appearance there for #WOKEN Matt Hardy.”

It’s been well documented that Hardy will be taking an extended break to deal with nagging injuries. It later came out that Hardy has been “shadowing” WWE producers behind the scenes and is transitioning to a backstage role with the company.

Matt Hardy Shares Cryptic Video About His WWE Future

Matt Hardy has fans talking online after posting a cryptic video on his Youtube channel. As seen below, Hardy talks about being at a crossroads in his pro wrestling career.

Earlier this month, we reported Matt Hardy will be taking an extended break to deal with nagging injuries. It later came out that Matt Hardy has been “shadowing” WWE producers behind the scenes and is transitioning to a backstage role with the company. During SummerSlam weekend, Hardy confirmed that he was working as a producer at the show in a tweet that stated he loved working backstage.

At Sunday’s WWE live event in Rochester, New York, Matt Hardy received an emotional send-off. Following a 3-team tag team match, Hardy and partner Bray Wyatt embraced in the ring and received a standing ovation from the live crowd who attended the show. It is likely the final time the two will team together.

Check out Matt Hardy’s cryptic video, HARD TRUTHS:

Matt Hardy Receives Emotional Send-Off At WWE Live Event

Matt Hardy got an emotional send-off at Sunday night’s WWE Live Event from Rochester, New York. The Woken one will now take extended time off as he deals with various injuries and re-evaluates his in-ring future.

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt teamed up on the show in what is likely their final match together. The B-Team retained the Raw Tag Team championships in a 3-team match that also included The Revival. After the final, Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt embraced in the ring and received a standing ovation from the live crowd. As they were on the ramp about to walk backstage, both Matt and Bray threw up the Hardy Boyz hand gesture.

Later in the evening, Matt thanked fans on Twitter for the “WONDERFUL” and heartwarming send-off he received in Rochester. “I appreciate you,” he said.

As we’ve been reporting, his future as an active wrestler are in question.  A long career of putting his body on the line may have finally caught up with the talented performer. In recent weeks, Matt Hardy has begun working behind the scenes as a producer/agent.

Matt will address his nagging injuries over the next several months. We do not know the full extent of his injuries at this time. There is no reason to believe he is officially retired, but he won’t be wrestling any time soon.

Matt Hardy Confirms His Producer Role Backstage At SummerSlam

Matt Hardy is currently taking a break from in-ring competition. Last week it was reported that Hardy will be taking an extended break to deal with nagging injuries. Hardy’s health will be reevaluated later this year. For now, there’s no indication that Hardy plans on retiring. However, Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests his in-ring future is in question.

Recently, Hardy has been gearing up for the next chapter of his professional wrestling career. Hardy was recently “shadowing” WWE producers, with some speculating he’s preparing for a backstage role transition.

The 25-year professional wrestling veteran would be a huge asset backstage, as many have raved about his wrestling IQ. On Sunday afternoon before SummerSlam, Hardy took to Twitter to comment on his new role:

Hardy suggested it was strange to be a part of the show in a “different capacity”:

He also Tweeted out a photo of himself working with WWE broadcaster Mike Rome backstage at the Barclays Center:

Matt Hardy Confirms His Producer Role

Yesterday, Hardy further elaborated on his backstage role at SummerSlam. He confirmed that he was working as a producer at the show. Hardy said he loved working backstage, and also mentioned he was babysitting his sons at the same time:

Reby Hardy

Hardy’s wife, Reby, had this to say about her husband’s “transitional time” recently on an appearance on the Busted Open satellite radio show:

“Matt is good,” she said. “Matt is right now going through a transitional period. He’s not really sure what he’s going to be doing. His contract is up in March, which I’m not sure many people are aware of.

“But there’s sort of a decision to be made at this point as to whether or not he should continue his in-ring career or if he should pursue something different, which he would totally be up for and would be excited to do, I feel like.

“So, he’s kind of giving it a go right now backstage. He’s at SummerSlam. He’s not on the card but he’s there. And we’re kind of going to see from here. It’s really a transitional time right now.”

During the discussion, Reby spoke candidly about Matt Hardy’s in-ring career winding down and the possibility of Matt transitioning to an agent/producer role. As noted earlier, Matt Hardy was backstage at SummerSlam doing just that.

When asked about her husband’s condition, Reby Hardy revealed that Matt Hardy is going through a “transitional period” in his career and might not return to the ring.

“Matt is good,” she said. “Matt is right now going through a transitional period. He’s not really sure what he’s going to be doing. His contract is up in March, which I’m not sure many people are aware of. But there’s sort of a decision to be made at this point as to whether or not he should continue his in-ring career or if he should pursue something different, which he would totally be up for and would be excited to do, I feel like.”

She continued, “So, he’s kind of giving it a go right now backstage. He’s at Summerslam. He’s not on the card but he’s there. And we’re kind of going to see from here. It’s really a transitional time right now.

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, a co-host on Busted Open, told Reby that Matt can survive in the wrestling business without having to put his body through the rigors that come with being an in-ring competitor. Reby said she tells that to Matt all the time. She said wrestling is all Matt has known since he’s 16 years old. After 25 years in the wrestling business, she hopes Matt embraces this next chapter of his career as an agent/producer.

As we’ve noted, WWE Superstar Elias has released his new album “Walk With Elias.” The new album has actually been doing very well on iTunes. Prior to Monday’s episode of RAW it had reached number 16 on the iTunes charts.

When the show finished, it was already in the top ten and jumped up to number six. If you’d like to check Elias’ album out, you can do so on iTunes or Spotify.

Matt Riddle Rumored To Be WWE Bound

Evolve Champion Matt Riddle is rumored to be WWE bound. The “Super King of Bros” had been scheduled to work multiple dates in Dublin, Ireland for Over The Top Wrestling during SummerSlam weekend, but pulled out due to a ‘scheduling conflict.’

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez said they don’t know for sure what’s in store for Riddle, but he’s probably headed to WWE. Alvarez addressed a fan asking about Matt Riddle and expressed a similar sentiment.

Both New Japan Pro Wrestling and WWE have been interested in Riddle, but New Japan would only use him for limited dates in the United States, which wouldn’t be enough to sign him.

Riddle has been the Evolve Champion since Evolve 102 back on April 5th when he defeated Zack Sabre Jr., who had been champion for over a year. His next Evolve title defense takes place on Saturday, August 4th when he defends against Shane Strickland in a Hardcore Rules match from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.

Having canceled scheduled appearances during SummerSlam weekend, it would not be entirely unexpected to see Matt sitting ringside during NXT Takeover: Brooklyn at the Barclays Center. Should he sign with WWE and join NXT, Riddle would be amongst an absolutely stacked roster that includes Adam Cole, Aleister Black, Ricochet, EC3, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Velveteen Dream and Keith Lee.

Discussion: Are you familiar with Matt Riddle’s work? If so, do you think Matt Riddle would be a good addition to NXT?
