Matt Hardy Shoots On Triple H, Says NXT Is A “Developmental Group Of Amateurs”

Matt Hardy Wins The TNA World Championship (Video)

Matt Hardy defeated Ethan Carter III in a Last Man Standing match on Tuesday night’s episode of Impact Wrestling to capture the TNA World Heavyweight title. Hardy had vowed to leave TNA if he did not walk out as champion.

Matt gained a championship, but sold out his integrity to get it. EC3’s bodyguard Tyrus betrayed his employer and sided with Hardy. Matt’s wife Reby handed him a hammer during the match, which he used to knock out EC3 en route to victory. It was the first clean loss by EC3 since joining TNA. After the win, Hardy cut a promo in the ring declaring this the new era of “Big Money Matt.”

Big Money Matt went on Twitter after the win and delivered “10 FYIs for internet nobodies” including:

Matt Hardy Says TNA Needs Original Ideas & A Fresh Direction On Pop TV

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ft0IaF4Etw0

TNA star Matt Hardy recently spoke with Jim Varsallone of The Miami Herald to promote Impact Wrestling’s premiere on Pop TV this week. Here are the highlights of what he said about:

TNA’s Move To Pop TV:

“[The deal] means a lot to me because TNA is going to continue to have a home in America,” Hardy said. “We would have been OK, in theory, if we would have just had our overseas programming, but if you’re an American brand, you need to have American television.

“So it was a big deal, and it’s important, and I really think the Pop TV people understand and have a good grasp of what it takes to make professional wrestling successful on their network — much better than the Destination America people did.

“So it was a big deal, and it’s important, and I really think the Pop TV people understand and have a good grasp of what it takes to make professional wrestling successful on their network — much better than the Destination America people did.

“I think Destination America just thought, ‘Wrestling is a very popular sport/entertainment type industry. We can put it on our network, and viewers are going to flock over and watch the program, and it’s gonna make money.’

TNA Needing Fresh, Original Ideas:

“One of the most important things Impact Wrestling needs to do to evolve — or for that matter any wrestling promotion — is you have to take into consideration not just the casual fans but also the smart fans. There’s so much information accessible to everyone now because the Internet is so powerful; social media is so powerful. You have to play off both of those. You have to cater to two different fan bases.”

“You need original ideas. You don’t need rehashed ideas. You don’t need to do the same thing in a different capacity over and over again, because wrestling needs something fresh, something original, something different. Me, personally, that’s the direction I want to take. I’m certainly going to do my damnedest to get some new original content and cross over some unchartered waters that’s never been touched before.”

The semifinals remain Bobby Lashley vs. Ethan Carter III and Matt Hardy vs. Eric Young. In the original tournament, Lashley beat EC3 via count out and Hardy beat Young, with Lashley beating Hardy in the finals.

Whatever the new direction is remains to be seen, however the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that their original plans for the conclusion of the tournament have been changed.

Graphic Video: Matt Hardy Busted Open By Botched Guitar Shot

We’ve all seen Jeff Jarrett successfully execute his patented guitar shot to the heads of his opponents many times. This is what it looks like when it’s not successful. On Sunday we showed you what Matt Hardy’s head looked like in the aftermath of this, and now you can watch the actual incident take place in the video above.

As previously reported, Matt Hardy took a nasty hit with the edge of a guitar in a match with Jeff Jarrett at WrestleCade IV in Winston-Salem, NC. The guitar didn’t break on impact as usual because it was off-center. Instead, Hardy took the corner of the guitar right to the top of his head.

As a result, Hardy was hospitalized and received 38 stitches. He won’t miss any time from the ring.

Matt Hardy Vacates TNA World Heavyweight Title

https://youtu.be/kyK0Mn6HkZA

After capturing the TNA World Heavyweight championship on Sunday night at Bound For Glory, Matt Hardy has announced he is vacating the title.

Ethan Carter III announced on Monday that he has filed an injunction against TNA as a result of how Hardy won the title. The injunction would prevent Hardy from appearing on TNA television with the belt and Matt decided the TNA audience deserves a champion who can be present on Impact Wrestling.

TNA will be issuing a statement on Wednesday about the future of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Ethan Carter III Posts Statement On “Injunction” Against Matt Hardy & TNA

Ethan Carter III released the following official statement on social media regarding the “injunction” storyline with new TNA World Heavyweight Champion Matt Hardy.

My Official Statement Regarding ?#?BoundForGlory? and the ?#?injunction? against Matt Hardy as TNA Heavyweight Champion.

Hello,
My name is Ethan Carter the Third (the third of my name,) the only undefeated World Champion in TNA History and, as preposterous as this is to say, the only undefeated former World Champion in Wrestling History.

For the two years I’ve been in TNA I have thrived and succeeded. Like many, I started at the very bottom, I had to earn my successes. Fortunately I was blessed with determination, resolution, a formidable skill set, and most importantly, unwavering fan support. Through these gifts, the world watched on 7/01/15 EC3 (me) defeat the greatest champion of our time, Kurt Angle, and culminate a life’s work by becoming THE World Champion.

One does not take that honor lightly. As my reign as champion began, I made a promise wrestling fans across the globe that the sanctity of that title would be upheld. The World Title would be contested with one thing in mind.

FAIR COMPETITION.

Well FAIR COMPETITION is not what transpired on 10/04/15 in Charlotte, NC.

Collusion is defined as “secret cooperation for an illegal purpose” and in the court of public opinion, allow me to present you with the facts.

-The owner of the company, with her own interests in mind, change the originally scheduled EC3 v. Galloway World Title Match, to a triple threat AFTER the contracts were signed.

-The owner of the company changed the official of the contest without giving the champion more than one week’s notification.

-The official is not only a disgruntled former employee of the champion but also the FREAKING BROTHER OF THE CHALLENGER.

-The official was directly involved in the match’s conclusion by assaulting the champion.

Those are simply the facts.

These facts, this evidence of collusion, was enough that my legal team saw and was granted an injunction via the seventh circuit court that prevents Matt Hardy from appearing on Impact Wrestling as TNA World Champion.

Matt Hardy has two options now. Relinquish the title back to my possession, striking your win from the record books, and I will see it fit you have a one-on-one match in a fair setting, or, never appearing on TNA Television again.

I am the champion this company needs, and even through this tumultuous time I still feel deserves.

Justice will be served.

Thank you,
Ethan Carter III

Matt Hardy Captures The TNA World Heavyweight Title

CQheQt4U8AAhbcm

Matt Hardy became the new TNA World Heavyweight champion at Sunday night’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view.

Jeff Hardy served as the guest referee and was directly involved in the match finish. Ethan Carter III started arguing with Jeff for not counting his pinfalls on Galloway and  Matt. EC3 low blowed Galloway and dared Jeff to disqualify him, but it was a no DQ match. EC3 brought a chair in the ring and was about to use it on Matt, but Jeff grabbed the chair and hit Carter with it.

Jeff then hit EC3 with the twist of fate. Matt Hardy hit a twist of fate of his own and Jeff counted the pin to make Matt the new TNA Champion.

Afterwards, Matt celebrated with his wife, son, father and Jeff.

Matt Hardy Responds To Finn Balor At TNA Headquarters, Finn Gets The Last Laugh

NXT Champion Finn Balor made waves on social media on Friday when he tweeted a photo of himself at TNA Headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.

TNA star Matt Hardy has since responded, noting that Balor was at TNA HQ in hopes of participating in the X-Division match at tonight’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view.

Wishful thinking by Hardy, but Balor let him know that he’s got much more important things going on:

Matt Hardy Talks About TNA’s Future, Most Grueling Ladder Match Story & More

Matt Hardy recently took part in a A.M.A. session with the r/SquaredCircle community on Reddit to promote his new shoot interview, available at TheWrestlingBundle.com. Below are some of the highlights.

On the most painful spot he’s ever been involved in: “Probably when my abdomen ripped in half, allowing my intestines to thrust outside of it. Indescribable pain. There’s been too many painful moments throughout my career to truly rank them though.”

On the best thing about no longer working for WWE: “The absolute freedom that it allows me. I make my own schedule. I work when I want to, I take off when I want to. The WWE is the best-an incredible company-but if you’re there full-time, it really consumes your life.”

On if he prefers being in the same company as Jeff, or if he enjoys when he’s allowed to do your his thing: “I love working at the same place as my brother, it’s an added bonus. But yes, sometimes it’s nice to have separation between our wrestling characters, as it’s hard for Matt & Jeff Hardy to be in the same promotion & NOT team as the Hardy Boyz. I love performing as a singles and it helps me highlight what I feel like are strengths of mine that aren’t always on exhibit when Jeff & I team.”

On the most grueling ladder match he has ever been in: “My toughest Ladder Match was the one vs E & C that happened the first night WWE was on TNN. All 4 of us (Me, Jeff, Adam & Jay) were all terribly hurting & physically spent from the Cage Match the night before at Unforgiven. We weren’t supposed to wrestle AT ALL that night, yet ended up in a brutal, long Ladder Match that day. I remember none of us were overly happy with our performance that night–we just weren’t physically able to produce the kind of performance that we wanted to that evening.”

On the current status of TNA: “First off, I love working at TNA right now. The locker room & working environment is great & the freedom that TNA allows it’s wrestlers is unparalleled. What happens with TNA & Dest America in the future? I’m honestly not sure. I hope they continue to work together. If not, they’ll look elsewhere for domestic distribution. Internationally, TNA is doing phenomenal business. I’ll openly admit that TNA is in a rebuilding phase after the Hogan-Bischoff era. There may be bumps in the road, but TNA is not going out of business & will soon be starting another period of growth.”

On if he has ever accidentally wrestled with stuff in the pockets of his cargo wrestling pants: “HA! You are absolutely right, they are handy to wear backstage. Great observation! I always put my hair-tie in my right pocket of my pants before wrestling–that’s a strict ritual of mine. I was one time about to make a coffee & had my match bumped up to be earlier. After taking a superplex, there was packets of Sweet N Low in the ring that I’d never taken out to put in my coffee.”

Matt Hardy Shares His Thoughts On TNA, Kevin Owens, Hardy Boys Still Going Strong

TNA Wrestling performer Matt Hardy recently spoke with Sean Ross Sapp of Wrestling Inc about a wide variety of topics. Below are some of the highlights of part one of their two-part interview.

On his match at tonight’s Impact Wrestling and being in such a high-profile position at this stage in his career: “It’s always an honor to be in a top position. When it comes down to it, I’m a kid who came from a small down in North Carolina and the dream was to become a professional wrestler. Obviously my brother and I have been very successful, but I still have a passion to be as good as I can be. I realize after 24 years that it’s hard to be as athletic as I used to be, but I feel like I have a lot of mileage in the tank. To go into this Full Metal Mayhem match tonight and challenge for the world title is very special. I guarantee people will walk away from this match in disbelief that Matt Hardy is still doing these things when he’ll be 41 in a month. That’s my goal coming out of this. I feel like no one can represent TNA better than I can right now.”

On both of The Hardy Boys wrestling at age 40 despite people thinking they wouldn’t due to their style in the ring: “I don’t know, man. I never try to predict the future. Even when we started with the WWE and were doing regular matches, the pace, the moves. We were doing splashes and Jeff was taking flat back bumps to the floor, and our finish was a legdrop/splash. The veterans who watched our matches said we wouldn’t be able to walk by the time we were 35. It was very scary. To still be a part of that right now and be able to do the things I do, I’ve had to totally change my thing. It’s a lifestyle, and you can tell the changes I’ve made in the last year. I really just try to work hard and stay passionate about things. I’m very lucky, I think.”

On still working crazy stipulation matches this late into his career: “Honestly, I didn’t expect it. I’m pleasantly surprised that I feel as good as I do. I try to be a statement for someone who is a regular person in this business and their longevity. I’m living proof that it can happen. I’ve been through struggles and survived. I was with the Young Bucks this weekend and we were talking about how intense Kevin Owens’ schedule was. For 12 years I was doing ten days on, four days off, then 5 days on, a day and a half off. There’s no way to describe the damage that puts on your body, especially if you wrestled a high impact style like I did. These TNA TVs are a little challenging sometimes because we have several days back-to-back. We did that recently. It was aggressive and tough for me. As soon as I was done, I’d get back to the room and sleep for an hour, then I’m up training, stretching, staying in survival mode. I really had to change my game. I have to make wrestling my lifestyle and what I build my schedule around.”

On his thoughts on TNA as a whole: “I encourage fans to check out TNA on Destination America not just tonight, but each week. We have a lot of really great programming and wrestling, and I think maybe some older fans who fell away from the brand would really enjoy it.”

Longtime WWE Employee Gets Personal With Matt Hardy’s Wife On Social Media

Longtime WWE seamstress Julie Youngberg, who is the wife of Shannon Moore, has been involved in a spat with Reby Sky — the wife of Matt Hardy — on the internet recently. Youngberg had been hacked recently, and accused Hardy and Sky of being responsible.

She wrote the following on Facebook:

“So great news. The police came over the other day who are working on my case of the person/people who are hacking me, stalking me, making up horrible lies, slander, etc and are trying to break up the beautiful marriage Shannon and I have. Funny enough the cops traced the emails back to a town none other than Cameron NC!!! Hmmm…lol, Just a little more time before they crack the false name the acct was opened under but they are working on it. Let’s just say what comes around goes around and sorry assholes Shannon and I love each other way too much to let psychopaths like you with nothing better to do with your lives or time than to try and ruin ours. Your pathetic and sad excuses for human beings. If I were you right now I’d be extremely nervous for the outcome.”

The spat then got personal when Youngberg insinuated that Hardy’s newborn baby is not actually Matt’s.

https://twitter.com/RebySky/status/619319962482704384

Sky then called Youngberg out for her comments and accused her of having an extra-marital affair:

“For all u people who think I said something racist lol….what I said was “my hackers wife”….according to our police investigation of being harassed 4 the passed 6 years, those emails have been now discovered to have come from Caneron NC….so unless u are the hackers wife there’s no reason to have an issue.”
