“Hardy is the leading speculated name for the leader of the Dark Order since they just started teasing a leader and Hardy just started putting out the videos,” Meltzer continued.

Matt Hardy’s Free The Delete

Hardy has recently expressed his apparent frustration with his current position within WWE. After having been associated with SmackDown, he made a few appearances on RAW before being unceremoniously moved once again. This led him to refer to his brand status as him being in “limbo.”

He started a series of new YouTube shows, including Free The Delete—a show that embraces a more creative way in telling its story. Hardy likened its style to the Final Deletion. He recently stated how if fans see something that stands out and possibly means something, that is an intentional creative choice, not just coincidence.

Hardy concludes the video by saying he will get his “Broken Brilliance” back.

“In “FREE THE DELETE” Episode 7, Matt learns the dark fate of ZENITH, the ESSENCE housed inside his VESSEL. This devastating news leaves Matt in a state of LIMBO. A gathering of family and friends occurs in the #HouseHardy Starcade Arcade, with hopes it will help Matt overcome his disappointment and depression,” a description of the video reads.

“Matt Hardy is expected to leave WWE in March,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

Is Hardy the Leader of the Dark Order?

The report would continue to offer speculation that Hardy could portray the leader of the Dark Order in AEW.

“Hardy is the leading speculated name for the leader of the Dark Order since they just started teasing a leader and Hardy just started putting out the videos,” Meltzer continued.

Matt Hardy Addresses Brand Status

Matt Hardy has directly addressed his current brand status in WWE. Responding to a Twitter question, the Superstar described his current as “Matt Hardy in LIMBO.” He also pointed out how, despite appearing on RAW, he was never officially a part of that roster.

“Ever since I returned last February, I’ve been listed on the #SmackDown roster. When I performed on #RAW in November & December, I wasn’t ever officially put on RAW roster. Saw several websites suggesting I’d switched roster pages, but not the case. Call me Matt Hardy in LIMBO”

Matt Hardy’s RAW Return

After an extended period away from in-ring action, Matt Hardy returned to the ring on RAW. Upon his return, many fans were surprised to see him wearing attire reminiscent of his time in Team Xtreme alongside Lita and his brother, Jeff Hardy.

Despite a swell of excitement following his initial comeback, Hardy was, unfortunately, able to accrue much momentum on his time on the red brand, losing matches week after week.

Serving Two Masters

In a recent episode of Thoughts form the Throne, Matt Hardy spoke about how wrestlers and promoters now have to serve “two masters.” He highlighted how the industry now has to appeal to both the diehard fan and the casual fan. It is an approach he has embraced, admitting that he is “trying to cater to both.”

Matt Hardy On How Wrestlers And Promoters Work For Two Masters

RAW Superstar Matt Hardy has uploaded a new episode of his YouTube series, Thoughts from the Throne. During the show, Hardy addressed the fanbase he has accumulated with his other series, Free the Delete.

“I have been doing them in a very specific way where I think in the professional wrestling business now, if you’re a performer or especially if you’re a promoter, and you’re putting together the events, we serve two masters,” Hardy explained.

He extrapolated his comment, saying:

“I think there is the diehard fan that knows the deal and knows what’s going on, and I think that fanbase is growing exponentially, and is getting larger every single day. That’s one audience that we definitely have to take care of and we have to cater to them. The other audience is the casual fans and there are casual fans out there that just love the casual concept of wrestling, and there’s this larger than life story – a good guy vs. a bad guy, and they wanna see a story happen, that culminates in a match, and there’s trainwrecks on the way.”

Matt Hardy’s Two Masters: Diehard & Casual

Hardy then pointed to the recent Lana, Bobby Lashley and Rusev angle. He highlighted how the segments “did a big number,” despite the diehard fans hating it.

“[…] obviously there’s casual fans that are interested in it because people keep watching it online. So, there are two masters we are serving, and the point of what I was saying was in ‘Free The Delete’ I am trying to cater to both of those.”

Hardy shared that this is the style he is trying to capture for the modern product, creating interesting, entertaining segments and videos that appeal to both. He stressed that when it comes to Free the Delete, if fans see something that stands out and possibly means something, that is an intentional creative choice, not just coincidence.

At the time of writing, Matt Hardy has yet to re-sign with WWE.

Details On What Is Keeping Matt Hardy From Re-Signing With WWE

Matt Hardy has yet to decide whether he’s staying with WWE but we do know what’s keeping him from doing that.

The latest update on the future WWE Hall of Famer has surfaced online thanks to a report by Pwinsider.com. The belief for quite some time was the fact that the exact date as to when his contract expires was unknown, but it was believed to be expiring in early 2020.

With the new year here, the exact date has been revealed, which is March 1st.

As of this writing, Hardy has not come to terms on a new deal with WWE. If he doesn’t re-sign, then he would be free to appear anywhere on that date.

Keep Matt Hardy From Re-Signing With WWE

According to the report, the major hurdle between the two sides is how he would be used going forward, not money. Thus, the reason why he hasn’t signed a new deal yet.

WWE has been throwing out big money offers to re-sign its talent to longer deals than in previous years with most current deals seeing a star stay under contract for five years.

It’s not a secret that Hardy has been preparing for a potential exit with his “Release the Delete” videos online.

The former WWE Tag Team Champion made his return to WWE television on the November 25th episode of on Monday Night RAW where he lost to Buddy Murphy in a singles match.

Hardy would also suffer a defeat the following week in Greenville, SC, Hardy lost to Drew McIntyre. Both were short matches.

The finale of this hard fought war leaves Matt shocked,” a description of the video reads.

Matt Hardy On WWE RAW

Hardy has appeared on WWE RAW in losing fashion three times in recent weeks. Bully Ray spoke about WWE’s handling of Hardy recently on Busted Open Radio.

“It almost seems like they take out their frustrations on Matt for whatever Jeff may have done wrong,” Bully said on the show. “Any mistake that Jeff Hardy has made anybody could make it one time or another. And that’s why he would people gang up on people like that Jeff for a mistake they made whatever mistake it is.”

Hall of Famer Calls WWE’s Booking of Matt Hardy ‘Ridiculous’

WWE Hall of Famer and co-host of Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio show Bully Ray recently made some interesting comments regarding Matt Hardy and his current positioning on the WWE roster.

“Hopefully Matt Hardy and Jeff won’t be angry with me when I say this…”

Bully compared how Matt and his brother Jeff have been treated in the pro wrestling industry throughout their illustrious careers. “Hopefully Matt and Jeff won’t be angry with me when I say this,” Bully began. “But it is what it is. Have Matt and Jeff individually made mistakes on their journey over the past twenty to twenty five years personally outside of the ring? Yes, one hundred percent. You know what everybody makes mistakes and it’s going to happen.”

“They start pushing the hell out of Jeff”

Ray then asked his co-host to describe what happens to Jeff Hardy whenever Matt has made a ‘mistake’ in the past? “They make him a singles star,” Bully stated. “We’ve seen it before, we saw it in the WWE we seen it today he becomes a champion. He becomes a star. They start pushing the hell out of Jeff.”

“it could happen to anybody and hopefully he learned from the mistakes…”

Bully also conversely asked what happens to Matt Hardy when Jeff makes a similar life choice? “Matt just falls down the ladder completely” Bully claimed. “It almost seems like they take out their frustrations on Matt for whatever Jeff may have done wrong. Any mistake that Jeff Hardy has made anybody could make it one time or another. And that’s why he would people gang up on people like that Jeff for a mistake they made whatever mistake it is. Drunken driving or that. This stuff happens. It could happen to you, it could happen to a family member, it could happen to anybody and hopefully he learned from the mistakes. These guys are my brothers.

“[Matt Hardy] gets put back on the back burner, it’s ridiculous…”

Bully then finished by restating how Matt Hardy gets ‘pushed down’ instead of being pushed as a major singles star. “It just always winds up on the back burner, and he keeps reinventing himself and that is the kick in the balls. He takes it on the chin he reinvents himself V1, Big Money Matt, ‘Broken,’ it’s mad [that he] gets this all this stuff over. I think [he] gets put back on the back burner, it’s ridiculous.”

Matt Hardy also shared his appreciation for the love, support and sympathy he has received from the WWE Universe, claiming that without the fans there’s no Matt Hardy.

“I know the slump & losses won’t last forever, my countdown to Arcadia has begun. I will show up & do my job. We’ll get past this together. I’ve received so much love, support & sympathy tonight from the most vocal audience. Without you, there’s no me. THANK YOU ALL.”

What’s next for Matt Hardy?

The veteran Hardy recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of his first televised WWE matchup. His return on the 11/25 episode of RAW concluded a seven-month hiatus away from WWE programming. Hardy has notably been wearing attire similar to that during his Team Xtreme days alongside his brother Jeff and Lita.

Hardy recently made cryptic comments regarding his in-ring career, explaining how he needed to return to WWE to “finish in the right way.”

Matt Hardy got people talking over a recent tweet that he sent out on social media.

Hardy took to his official Twitter account where he sent out this cryptic message. He wrote, “I needed to return to WWE to finish in the right way. I didn’t want 2010 to be my finale. I returned in the most EPIC way & repaid my debt. I waved the #WWE flag with pride & worked hard to be a model employee. My conscience is clear & I am at peace.”

The former WWE Tag Team Champion made his return to WWE television on the November 25th episode of on Monday Night RAW where he lost to Buddy Murphy in a singles match.

Matt Hardy Has More Character Ideas Ready To Go, Discusses Constantly Evolving

Veteran WWE Superstar Matt Hardy has shared that he has more creative character ideas ready to go. Over the years, Hardy has successfully showcased his undeniable creative streak, in particular during his tenure in Impact Wrestling as Broken Matt Hardy.

“I have at least two other good things in mind right now,” Hardy confirmed. “And that’s the important thing, especially for me now. Because I’m much more entertainment driven than I am athletically driven. So it’s important for me to have those things.”

He continued, “And also, as an artist, that’s very cathartic for me. And I enjoy being able to come up with this cool, creative idea and then apply it to something. And that’s what it takes to survive in this day and age because the people’s attention spans are so short. Characters constantly have to change and evolve, constantly.”

Hardy recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of his very first televised match in WWE. He recently returned to WWE’s on-screen product after seven months away from TV. Most notably, Hardy returned in attire that echoed his old-school Team Xtreme days. Despite his best attempts, he would ultimately lose his return match to Buddy Murphy in relatively short order.

Latest Update On Matt Hardy’s Contract Negotiations With WWE

Matt Hardy has started a new series on his YouTube channel focused on his ‘Broken’ character recently and it appears that the series called Free The Delete could lead to some very interesting developments for the former champion.

According to reports from PWInsider, Hardy does not have a lot of time left in his current contract with WWE and his current deal with the company is set to expire in February 2020.

While Matt has been discussing a new deal with the company officials, there is a sticking point in his negotiations with the promotion which has stopped him from re-signing with the company.

Per the reports, WWE and the former TNA star are not too far apart on the financial side of things, but the 45-year-old star believes that his upcoming contract could be his last in professional wrestling.

So the former World Champion wants to be used in a certain way and how he will be used by the company in future is the main point of discussion that is stopping him from signing a new contract.

The YouTube series which Hardy has started producing recently is something he is doing on his own and WWE is not involved in the production. The videos and some of his latest tweets are seen as a preparation for his possible departure from WWE.

While there is still time and Matt Hardy could still reach an agreement with officials, the site indicates that he has no non-compete clause in his contract and the Broken one will be free to perform elsewhere in February if he decides not to re-sign.

Matt Hardy On Why He Returned To WWE, When He’ll Be Back In Action

Matt Hardy returned to the WWE at WrestleMania 33 on April 2, 2017, where he was added as a last-minute participant along with his brother Jeff Hardy for the Raw Tag Team Championship against the teams of Gallows and Anderson, Cesaro and Sheamus, and Enzo and Cass.

Since then, Matt has had a decent run in WWE with his Woken Matt Hardy gimmick.

Matt, however, has not been since June where he appeared at Super ShowDown to compete in the 51-man Battle Royal.

Fans have been wondering what he’s up to and what his current WWE status is. A fan recently a fan on Twitter asked Matt if he ever regrets coming back to the company now that he isn’t being used.

Matt replied that he had to return to WWE to complete his redemption story and that the company made him. Matt added that he will always be grateful to WWE.

“No. I had to return to @WWE to complete my redemption story. WWE made me, I’ll always be grateful to them. Disliked how I left in 2010 & felt I owed #WWE a debt. Came back & repaid it. The WWE employees have treated me great,” Hardy wrote.

He was also asked when fans can expect him to see on their TV screens. Matt assured them that he’ll be back within the next five months one way or another and will be competing in the ring for a while.

Looks like Matt’s trying to make an in-ring return possible and it would be interesting to see how it turns out as it could possibly be his last run, at least as an active wrestler, in the WWE.

Beth And Reby Hardy Get In Twitter Spat Following Jeff’s Arrest

Following Jeff Hardy’s recent DWI arrest, it looks like things are getting a little bit heated between the Hardy brothers’ wives. Matt Hardy’s wife Reby, and Jeff Hardy’s wife Beth engaged in a war of words on Twitter over Jeff’s arrest.

On October 3, 2019, Hardy was arrested and charged with driving while impaired in Moore County, North Carolina.

Jeff’s brother Matt issued the following statement on social media about the situation:

“Since so many have asked me about my brother tonight-I love my brother & want him to be happy & healthy. I’ve expressed that to him as much as I can. Jeff has to make his decisions about his life.

I have to focus on my 2 boys & soon to arrive son. I can only control MY actions.”

Last night, Beth Hardy published two posts on Twitter, where she implied that she wasn’t happy with Matt’s statement.

Reby Hardy replied to Beth’s statements with the following rant on how Matt cares about Jeff even if Beth doesn’t believe it:

“No matter how much you dislike him, MATT IS STILL HIS BROTHER, here LONG before your ass & is family, not ‘family,’ PERIOD. Any statements from Matt about Jeff don’t need YOUR approval; it ain’t about YOU. I know it kills you to have anyone acknowledge that the facade of a perfect life you try to maintain is a f–king joke, but not everyone thinks the sun shines out of your asses, Beth, and not everyone wants to be complicit in your ‘protecting’ & enabling of a man who is well on his way to killing himself or someone else.

You’re an idiot if you really believe Jeff’s actions don’t affect Matt; they do & and he has every f–king right to speak his mind on HIS OWN BROTHER. Remember, he speaks from EXPERIENCE. Unlike you, we don’t run & hide from our issues & pretend nothing is or was ever wrong in this house. Matt was the absolute worst & I’ve seen how bad it can truly get. I know how this story ends if you don’t f–king wake up already. Worry about THAT instead of what is said to ‘f–king nobodies online,’ as you so eloquently describe their fans.

It’s not ‘talking s–t,’ it’s living in REALITY & holding people accountable when they need it. Maybe it’s time to put the wine emojis away, drop the Twitter stuntin’ & put that energy into keeping your man from driving f-ked up on the street I drive WITH MY CHILDREN before trying to come at a man for addressing his own blood/business partner. In short, & as always, MIND YOUR F–KING BUSINESS.”

Matt Hardy also weighed in on the matter and said that he doesn’t need permission to address his own brother.

Jeff was also arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for being intoxicated in public back in July. Hardy was released later that day on a bond that was less than $200.

Hardy underwent knee surgery back in May with the expected timeline that he is going to be out of action for approximately 6-9 months following surgery to repair a damaged knee.
