Details On Issues That Vince McMahon Has With Matt Riddle

Matt Riddle is known to be outspoken and that is something that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon apparently doesn’t like.

The issues between the two are due to Riddle’s social media posts and challenges, according to Dave Meltzer, who reported the news in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Meltzer noted how WWE Champion Brock Lesnar doesn’t like Riddle for making challenges to main roster stars as well as himself and that Lesnar has tremendous pull with McMahon.

It was added that “Vince also sees him [Riddle] as an outside guy and feels Riddle has no respect for the hierarchy of the business by challenging Goldberg and Lesnar.”

Riddle has made it clear for years that he wants to not only take on Lesnar in the squared circle but wants to retire him at WrestleMania, which is the biggest event of the year for WWE.

In fact, Riddle and Lesnar got into a backstage verbal altercation prior to Royal Rumble in Houston, Texas at the Minute Maid Park. According to recent reports, Lesnar told Riddle to stop calling him out because the match will never happen.

Riddle had an awkward interaction with Goldberg last year at SummerSlam after criticizing the WWE Hall of Famer on social media and interviews.

Booker T Comments On Matt Riddle & Brock Lesnar Confrontation

According to various reports, Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle got into some kind of altercation backstage at the Royal Rumble. Lesnar is reported to have told Riddle he will not work with him. Booker T talked about the issues regarding Riddle and Lesnar on his “The Hall of Fame with Booker T” on ESPN 97.5 recently.

“These sites will pick something up in a heartbeat and they will run with it,” Booker T pointed out about wrestling sites.

“I was looking on social media, actually on some of the sites, and they were talking about Matt Riddle saying ‘Man, forget that, I want the title shot, I’m taking his career, I’m going to finish Brock Lesnar.'”

Booker was referencing a video posted by the official WWE PC YouTube channel. In the video, Riddle continued to say he plans on retiring Brock Lesnar. The video was posted after reports of Riddle and Lesnar’s confrontation at the Rumble went public. It is not clear, however, if Riddle’s comments in the video were made before his meeting with Lesnar or after. Some of Riddle’s comments seem to indicate the video was filmed after Lesnar reportedly said he wouldn’t work with him, however.

“I don’t care if he wants the match or not. I’m going to get it. I don’t care, it’s not up to him,” Riddle said in the video. “I don’t like being told no, especially when I work as hard as I do.”

Booker T Continues To Talk About Matt Riddle

“This ain’t the UFC and that’s what I want to relay also,” Booker said.

“If someone don’t want to work with you, if someone don’t like you, it definitely can be a problem for you,” Booker continued.

Booker would then say he feels the media turned in-character comments of Riddle’s into a shoot story.

“So, that’s why I feel like, this deal right here he was in character one moment and then the media took the character and made it a shoot because of what happened on Sunday.”

“On one of the sites, it actually gives you everything verbatim as far as what he said but you got to click on the video to see what it really is.”

Matt Riddle Says He’ll Get His Match With Brock Lesnar

The official YouTube channel for the WWE Performance Center has published a video today teasing a possible encounter between Matt Riddle and Brock Lesnar. Riddle has made frequent public comments regarding Lesnar and there have been reports the two had a verbal altercation backstage at the Royal Rumble.

“I really wanted to get my hands on Brock,” Riddle says in the video. “You know, I saw him throwing everybody around. I don’t care what he says or what anybody says, I don’t care if he wants the match or not. I’m going to get it. I don’t care, it’s not up to him.”

“I don’t like being told no, especially when I work as hard as I do.”

WWE posted the following video to the WWE PC YouTube channel:

“NXT Superstar Matt Riddle competed in the 2020 Royal Rumble this past weekend, and he made sure to express his interest in facing WWE Champion Brock Lesnar,” a description of the video reads on YouTube.

Matt Riddle Posts About 2020 Royal Rumble Experience

Riddle posted to social media to say his Royal Rumble appearance didn’t go as planned. He also mentioned his big match on NXT this week along with Pete Dunne against the Grizzled Young Veterans.

Brock Lesnar & Matt Riddle Have Verbal Altercation Before Royal Rumble

Things apparently got interesting between WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle as an incident occurred. Ryan Satin of WWE Backstge reported that they got into a backstage verbal altercation prior to Royal Rumble in Houston, Texas at the Minute Maid Park.

It was noted that details are scarce at this time but they were told the two stars passed each other while walking backstage and a tense encounter ensued. This is where it was noted that Lesnar saw Riddle and wanted him to know the reality of the situation between them.

Per the report, the encounter was real and not something for the show. It should also be noted that they did not get physical and kept it verbal.

Earlier this month, Riddle was teasing on his social media accounts that he could have a showdown with “The Beast.”

This comes after Riddle had an awkward interaction with Goldberg last year at SummerSlam after criticizing the WWE Hall of Famer on social media and interviews.

With Lesnar, Riddle has made it clear for years that he wants to not only take on Lesnar in the squared circle but wants to retire him at WrestleMania, which is the biggest event of the year for WWE.

WWE NXT Superstar Matt Riddle got fans talking over a recent post on his official Twitter account.

This post has fans speculating on a possible Royal Rumble Match appearance. It has also led to some fans having hope that he could have a potential showdown with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.

Riddle has previously talked about his desire to share the squared circle with “The Beast” in the past.

In the post, Riddle shared an older photo of a backstage sign showing directions to Lesnar’s locker room. He wrote in the caption,

“All I’m gonna say is watch WWE this week, [poop emoji] is about to get wild #stallion #ob #originalbro #kingofbros #splx #nxt #royalrumble2020.”

WWE has yet to confirm whether NXT will have any involvement in the Men’s and/or Women’s Royal Rumble matches.

Matt Riddle Tells Goldberg He Owes The Undertaker An Apology For Super ShowDown Match

Matt Riddle went after Goldberg once again on social media.

There is some history between Riddle and Goldberg as Riddle has been outspoken about the WWE Hall of Famer.

WWE released a preview clip for the episode of Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin that will air this Sunday and feature Goldberg, who will talk about a wide range of topics.

The clip features a quick round of word association that saw Goldberg stating that owes Taker a receipt. Riddle saw the clip and responded on Twitter:

Matt Riddle Shares Story Of Interaction With Goldberg At SummerSlam

Riddle and Goldberg’s comments about The Undertaker involves the contest that saw Goldberg share the squared circle with Taker.

The match between Goldberg and The Undertaker at the WWE Super ShowDown pay-per-view event back in June had received a ton of criticism from fans. The start of the match was good but it quickly went downhill due to unforeseen circumstances.

During the match, Goldberg ended up being busted open and suffering a concussion. Taker dropped Goldberg on his head while attempting a tombstone and Goldberg botched the jackhammer.

Riddle has also voiced his take about Goldberg and how he doesn’t like Goldberg’s style of wrestling.

Finn Balor Beats Matt Riddle At WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames III

Matt Riddle vs. Finn Balor lived up to expectations when they met inside of the squared circle at the WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames III event.

As seen in the match, Balor beat Riddle in his first match back under the NXT banner in over three years.

NXT TakeOver: WarGames III Results & Live Coverage

WWE set up Balor vs. Riddle on the November 13th episode of NXT when Balor cut a promo that eventually led to Riddle attacking him. Riddle was slated to be part of the Men’s WarGames Match at TakeOver. However, Riddle had been replaced by Donovan Dijak in the contest.

The reason for that is due to WWE needing to find a replacement for Balor’s original opponent. Originally, Balor was expected to wrestle Johnny Gargano at this event but due to a neck injury that resulted in him being pulled from in-ring action, Gargano is now on the sidelines.

It’s been reported that Balor was supposed to be moved from RAW to SmackDown once he returned after taking time off.

When WWE NXT moved from the WWE Network to the USA Network starting in September and started to decline in viewership especially up against AEW Dynamite, Balor was moved to NXT with the idea that his star power could make more of a difference there.

Matt Riddle On His Journey To NXT, Connecting With Fans

NXT Superstar Matt Riddle has become a staple of WWE’s black-and-gold brand since signing with the company in 2018. In an interview with PWInsider.com, ‘The Original Bro’ looked back on his journey to NXT as well as his relationship with the WWE Universe.

Riddle explained how, despite his career in UFC and MMA, he wasn’t a big enough star within the sport to get an instant “round of publicity.” Because of that, he committed to travelling the world, honing his craft on the indie scene.

“[…] you’re still going to have to grind through the Indies and just honestly it was years and years on the Indies where I just kept working,” Riddle explained. “UK shows, Canada, Mexico, America, Ireland, Germany, until the point where it was my goal because I knew I needed to do this is, that’s where I had the trial with WWE earlier, they’re like, ‘we can’t sign you because of your past,’ but then I knew I had to become undeniable. I knew I had to make everybody want me or need me to get a job. And that’s what I did until I worked hard enough for every company under the sun was offering me a contract.”

Relatable Bro

When it comes to connecting with fans, Riddle credits the fact that fans knew his story coming into pro wrestling. He believes this helped make him more relatable.

“I think the connection was made and it was organic, just because they know my story. I know a lot of people like you, they might not know. But if one fan knows, he’s probably going to tell another fan and another fan, and I think people can relate to me,” Riddle said.

“I think a lot of people have had an opportunity or break and something went wrong or they made a mistake and that’s it for them. And there’s never a rebound, there’s never a comeback, there’s never anything. So I think for me, that part of my story is motivating and people like that. Plus, like you said, I’m the kind of guy that would go in the crowd, hang out with everybody. I’m extremely friendly with people and I also think I’m pretty good at pro wrestling so I think all those things help out.”

Matt Riddle recently competed in a losing effort against current NXT Champion, Adam Cole.

Matt Riddle Reflects On His Time In MMA, Learning To Sell In Pro Wrestling

Matt Riddle recently opened up about his time training and competing in mixed martial arts during an episode of Lilian Garcia’s podcast, Chasing Glory. He also shared what he found most difficult when transitioning into pro wrestling.

Before his time as an NXT Superstar and pro wrestler, Riddle competed in MMA and the UFC. Looking back on his time competing, he admitted he sometimes can’t believe he chose MMA as a career path:

“I’ll be honest, I watch some of my old fights, and even when I watch fights now, I’m like, ‘I can’t believe I did that.’ It’s—I can probably do it now, I was training before I came over here and I handled myself quite well. But at the same time, it’s very reckless,” Riddle said. “It’s dangerous, there’s reward at the end but there’s also a high level of risk. I watch it, and like you said, it makes me flinch sometimes. I remember when I was younger I was like, ‘Yeah, nobody can hurt me.’ And now I’m like, why was I so stupid? Then again, it helped me but myself in the position I’m in now. I don’t regret it, because I had a good career.”

Learning To Sell

Transitioning from MMA to pro wrestling wasn’t seamless for Riddle. He confessed that he had a hard time learning how to sell after having to shrug everything off during a fight.

“From MMA to pro wrestling it would have to be selling,” Riddle said. “In MMA you get punched in your face and you go, ‘No, didn’t even faze me.’ But in pro wrestling you’ve got to present it to the audience, the world. But that’s the biggest difference. For me, like I said, I’ve always been a fan, even when I would train MMA and stuff like that, I would play around, say if you get hit – I’ve been working on this for a while.”

Riddle recently competed in a losing effort against NXT World Champion Adam Cole.

NXT Injury Report: Matt Riddle Injured, Tommaso Ciampa Cleared, more…

As they have done for the last few weeks, NXT released their weekly injury report recently. According to this week’s report, former NXT champion Tommaso Ciampa has been cleared for action while Matt Riddle looks to be on the shelf for a little bit.

The report did not state what injury Riddle is suffering from, only that he is not currently medically cleared to compete. The video noted, however, that Riddle was struck in the head Wednesday night by Adam Cole’s cast and he was shown in the video going through concussion protocol testing.

Co-NXT tag team champion Kyle O’Reilly is listed as day-to-day with an AC sprain stemming from his and Bobby Fish’s title match Wednesday night against the Street Profits.

Shane Thorne is also listed as day-to-day with an AC sprain as well after losing to Johnny Gargano this week.

Candice LeRae is listed as day-to-day with a neck contusion stemming from her championship bout with Shayna Baszler in Full Sail on Wednesday night.

Cole beat Riddle to retain the title during Wednesday’s episode of WWE NXT in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University on the USA Network.

After the match, former NXT Champion Finn Balor made his return after being absent for two months. Balor walked down to the ring and told Cole that he’s back in NXT.

WWE NXT Results & Live Discussion (10/2)

This contest was set up on last week’s episode when WWE held a second Street Fight between Riddle Killian Dain. This comes after their original Street Fight last week went to a no contest.

WWE NXT General Manager William Regal added some big stakes to this match as it was supposed to determine who will be next in line for a championship match.

As seen on the show, Riddle ended up winning it. As a result, Riddle had earned the right to challenge Cole for the WWE NXT Title.

Cole beat Johnny Gargano to become the champion in the main event of WWE NXT TakeOver: XXV event in Bridgeport, CT on June 1st.

Matt Riddle Rips UFC President Dana White

Matt Riddle was fired from the UFC in 2013 despite being on a 4-fight winning streak. 2 of his 4 victories from that time were changed to no-contests after Riddle tested positive for cannabis, however. UFC President Dana White made several derogatory comments regarding Riddle after his release as well.

“Everybody’s going to have an excuse of why they were cut. Matt Riddle did an interview before that fight where he said ‘I smoke weed so that I don’t beat my children’ then he tests positive for it. He’s a f—king moron,” White said following the UFC 158 pre-fight press conference.

The UFC has since entered into a research agreement with Aurora Cannabis to look into the medical benefits it can provide for athletes.

Riddle has since signed with WWE and is now a major player on the NXT brand with a scheduled title shot against Adam Cole next Wednesday.

White recently said that he is happy for Riddle and his success in pro wrestling. Riddle offered up the following response to White’s comments on his Instagram page:

Matt Riddle Sends Message To Dana White

“Dana I’m not mad that you fired me I’m mad because you’re a heartless moron with to much money and power and felt the need to call me a loser after you fired me when I was on a 4 fight win streak and had my 3rd child almost bankrupting me. Also to say it was the right call to fire me is the dumbest thing ever, you literally tried to ruin my career/life because your a little bald bitch that couldn’t control me, so stop lying it’s sad bro”

Matt Riddle Comments On Facing Adam Cole Next Week (Video)

Last night on NXT, Matt Riddle defeated Killian Dain in a street fight. The win earned Riddle an NXT championship match against Adam Cole next week. After his win over Dain, Riddle locked in a Fujiwara armbar on Cole after the champion came to the ring to confront his upcoming challenger.

WWE correspondents spoke with Riddle backstage after his match last night to get his comments on challenging for the NXT championship next week.

Matt Riddle Comments On Facing Adam Cole

Cole remarked after Riddle’s match last night that the Original Bro isn’t in his league. Riddle was asked about Cole’s comments backstage.

“I’ve already beaten Adam Cole before he was champion, and you know I’m going to beat him next week and become the new NXT champion,” Riddle said. “So it’s ludicrous for him to even say those things and I think I made him tap out tonight. And I think I heard something snap or crackle, or pop in his wrist or arm or somewhere. He’s not as big as me so once I get a hold of him, I snap him like a twig. So, I don’t know, I think those were bold statements and I think he’s going to eat his words.”

New #1 Contender Set For Adam Cole’s WWE NXT Title

There is a new #1 contender to the WWE NXT Title held by Adam Cole and that’s Matt Riddle.

During Wednesday’s episode of NXT, WWE held a second Street Fight between Riddle Killian Dain. This comes after their original Street Fight last week went to a no contest.

WWE NXT William Regal added some big stakes to this match as it was announced that this contest will determine who will be next in line for a championship match.

As seen on the show, Riddle ended up winning it. As a result, Riddle has earned the right to challenge Cole for the WWE NXT Title on next week’s episode of NXT.

WWE is loading up the show as two previous title matches have been announced that includes NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler vs. Candice LeRae and The Undisputed Era defending the NXT Tag Team Titles against The Street Profits.

The obvious reason for booking a title match on this NXT episode is due to the hope of increasing ratings as they will be in for a big fight.

NXT will be going head-to-head with AEW Dynamite that will air at the same time on TNT. All Elite Wrestling has loaded up the show as well.

WWE NXT Preview: #1 Contender’s Street Fight, Star Set For Return

Goldberg & Dolph Ziggler Scuffle At Las Vegas Restaurant, Matt Riddle Comments

Goldberg posted a video of him and Dolph Ziggler getting involved in a pull-apart at a Las Vegas area restaurant recently. According to comments Goldberg made on an Instagram post, he was at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse and ran into his opponent from SummerSlam this year.

“Looks like @heelziggler and I still don’t see eye to eye! Fortunately for him I wasn’t still hungry! ” Goldberg’s post reads.

Matt Riddle Comments On Pull Apart Between Dolph Ziggler and Goldberg

The post drew the attention of NXT’s Matt Riddle, who has made frequent public statements regarding Goldberg over the last several months. Riddle posted the following to Twitter:

On the SummerSlam version of Watch Along, Riddle was a guest and told the story of meeting Goldberg backstage that weekend.

Matt Riddle vs Goldberg Rivalry

Riddle commented on if he’s any closer to a match with Goldberg earlier this month in an interview with Sportskeeda.

“Well, the WWE… NXT has made mention of me wrestling Brock in promos and other things like that, but I’ve been calling out Brock since I started wrestling. It’s such a huge goal. If I get close to that, I’ll probably be really successful. If I do it, probably be a legend. Now I’m as close I’ve ever been, but I’m still pretty far.”

William Regal Books Rematch Between Killian Dain And Matt Riddle For Next Week, Winner Faces Adam Cole

WWE’s NXT premiere on USA Network ended in a brawl between members of the NXT locker room. This occurred after the Street Fight between Kilian Dain and Matt Riddle spilled out of the ring. They fought into the backstage area before eventually finding themselves back in the ring, surrounded by their fellow Superstars.

After the cameras cut on the WWE Network, NXT General Manager William Regal stormed to the ring. He then set a rematch for next week’s episode. Their rematch, which will also be a Street Fight, comes with an added caveat: the winner will face Adam Cole for the NXT Championship.

Regal got into Killian’s face saying, “This Street Fight will continue next week on USA, and I’m going to give you both some incentive because the winner will face Adam Cole in an NXT Championship match!”

His announcement was met with chants of “Thank you, Regal” from the WWE Universe within Full Sail University.

Both Matt Riddle and Killian Dain nodded, staring at each other after the announcement was made.

Last night saw Adam Cole’s stable, the Undisputed Era, finally fulfil their promise of being draped in NXT gold. No matter who comes out victorious from the Street Fight rematch next week, expect Cole and his stablemates to do everything they can to keep the gold within Undisputed Era.

Goldberg Says He Doesn’t Know Who Matt Riddle Is

Bill Goldberg was recently asked about Matt Riddle during an interview with Helen Lee from NBC Sports. Goldberg joked during the interview that he doesn’t know who Riddle is.

“Matt who? I don’t even know who that is,” Goldberg answered when asked about Riddle. “I don’t answer questions about people who haven’t made it yet.”

Lee then remarked that Riddle has a long way to go.

“Yes, that’s an understatement,” Goldberg responded.

The full interview can be viewed in the player below:

Goldberg on Cain Velasquez

Goldberg also commented on Cain Velasquez and his transition from MMA to pro-wrestling.

“Cain’s doing great,” Goldberg said. “I saw a little bit of the coverage of his match and you know, put it this way, anyone in professional sports who was in that sport for a lifelong dream like myself, played football, it’s all I ever wanted to do, it’s a great alternative. This wrestling business offers a lot, it really does. For guys who are high-level professional athletes to try and make the transition, especially with what Cain knows and what he’s done in the past, it’s a perfect easy transition. I’m not going to say easy but it’s easier than for someone whose never done anything like that before.”

Goldberg continued to say he’d like to wrestle Cain as well.

“I’d still smash him in the ring,” Goldberg stated.

Street Fight Set For Premiere WWE NXT Episode On USA Network

WWE has announced another match for the premiere episode of NXT on the USA Network.

That contest will see Matt Riddle vs Killian Dain in a Street Fight. The company made the announcement on Monday with this tweet:

The winner of the three-way match will become the next challenger to NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler.

The October 2nd episode will air as a complete two hour live broadcast on the USA Network, which will remain from that point on.

The reason for that is due to them going head-to-head each week with All Elite Wrestling’s new series on TNT starting on October 2nd.

Update On Matt Riddle & Goldberg’s Backstage Meeting At Summerslam

Matt Riddle and Bill Goldberg are reported to have met backstage during Summerslam weekend in regards to Riddle’s frequent public comments about the former Universal champion. According to a report from Fightful, the interaction between the two was filmed “just in case” and Riddle being scheduled for Watch Along was not done by accident.

“Another source on the production end of things said that WWE knows what its doing with Riddle and Goldberg, and the initial conversation was filmed ‘just in case,’ and that WWE didn’t exactly put Riddle on the Watch Along by accident,” Fightful’s report reads.

Matt Riddle and Bill Goldberg

Riddle commented on his backstage meeting with Goldberg on the Summerslam Watch Along show:

https://twitter.com/JJWilliamsWON/status/1160690867235184642?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1160690867235184642&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs46315.p1736.sites.pressdns.com%2Fmatt-riddle-shares-story-of-interaction-with-goldberg-at-summerslam%2F

Riddle also spoke about Goldberg while being interviewed at the Download Festival this summer.

“The thing for me is, and one of the reasons I was never a fan of Goldberg in the beginning when everybody was like ‘oh, he’s so good!’ I was like ‘no, he’s terrible, he’s hurting people’ and there’s nothing else.”

“He just has three-minute matches. And that was my thing and when people say ‘who was your favorite wrestler?’ I really don’t have one. I just liked really good wrestling. That’s why I fight and I do that. So for me, I don’t care how much money he makes, I’m just glad people were entertained. But, stick to your wheelhouse, bro. And stop headbutting doors before you wrestle. And I’m not hating – I’m not hating – I’m just spitting facts and these are all facts and things he should take into consideration. And not just for me, not because he got made fun of, but for his health as well.”

Matt Riddle Discusses If He’s Any Closer To Wrestling Brock Lesnar, Opens Up About Talking With Goldberg

Matt Riddle hasn’t made it a secret that he would love to face Brock Lesnar. He also got into a back-and-forth with WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg that saw the two speak backstage about their issues.

In an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Dropkick DiSKussions, Riddle opened up about the likelihood of achieving his dream match against Lesnar. He also shared how he wasn’t particularly interested in a match with Goldberg.

Turning his attention to Goldberg, who he publicly mocked during his matchup against The Undertaker at WWE’s Super ShowDown in June, Riddle admitted he never even wanted a match with the former WCW World Champion.

“With Goldberg, I was never even really wanting a match. I mean, I would take it for sure. He’s Bill Goldberg, you know? The guy is money. At the same time, I never wanted a match. It was more so my opinion on his work rate and his wrestling – not his ability to generate money or put butts in seats. It was his salary, his work rate.”

He continued, “I talked to Goldberg, we talked about it, he thought I was being disrespectful. I was like, ‘Okay, man, that’s my opinion. I’m just not a huge fan of your work. I’m just not. It’s not great pro wrestling.’ It’s like, ‘You’ve got a great jackhammer, great spear but the wrestling… Uhh.’ I’m not lying. I feel like if I’m not lying, I’m not being disrespectful. Especially as that’s how you make your money.”

With NXT moving to USA Network and extending to two-hours, the WWE Universe may soon be able to see more of ‘The Original Bro’ on the black-and-gold brand.

Samoa Joe Offers Prediction For Brock Lesnar vs. Matt Riddle Fight

Samoa Joe has commented on a potential fight between Brock Lesnar and Matt Riddle.

During a recent interview with the Gorilla Position podcast, Joe was asked about who he thought would win in a fight between the two stars and if he would like to see it.

“Yeah, sure I would,” commented Joe. “Obviously, Brock has a big size advantage and Riddle’s very, very skilled, has great movement and he’ll talk trash in your face. It’s a tough call but it’s two different weight classes and usually, you’re gonna fare for the heavier guy.”

As of late, Joe has been a huge focus on WWE RAW as he was featured in the recent Roman Reigns mystery attacker storyline.

At one point, he was named as one of the prime suspects behind the attacks. It’s believed that Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan are behind the attacks.

Matt Riddle Shares Story Of Interaction With Goldberg At SummerSlam

In the past, the WWE NXT star has called out the former WWE Universal Champion for a showdown inside of the squared circle.

He’ll probably do so again as Riddle has been focused on having a match with “The Beast” under the WWE banner.

Matt Riddle Shares Story Of Interaction With Goldberg At SummerSlam

WWE NXT Superstar Matt Riddle has been vocal about WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg in the past. It turns out that they ran into each other while backstage at SummerSlam.

Riddle appeared on the SummerSlam Watch Along Livestream where he told the story about talking with Goldberg. It all started when he had been looking for the locker rooms of Goldberg and WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

All of a sudden, someone ran into him and he looks up and it’s Goldberg, who told him that they had to do some talking. Riddle agreed and told him that they can talk anytime. He kept saying bro and Goldberg told him that he’s not his bro.

Goldberg told him that he would see him later and that it was a pleasure meeting him, which Riddle said it was his pleasure. Goldberg once again told him that he wasn’t his bro.

Matt Riddle Discusses WWE NXT Potentially Airing On FS1

Matt Riddle recently did an interview with Simon Hannig of FanSided to promote WWE SummerSlam week in Toronto including NXT TakeOver: Toronto II.

During the interview, Riddle spoke about the reports that WWE will likely move NXT from airing on their streaming service, WWE Network, to FOX Sports 1 later this year.

“I think the more exposure NXT can get, the better. “I think both NXT and Raw are both talent-based. I think it’s gonna be good overall. It’s another viewing aspect of professional wrestling and sports entertainment. I think it’s gonna excel. With more eyes and more views, it’s gonna get bigger and better and brighter.”

Earlier this week, Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE will start to air NXT on FS1 and expand it to a two-hour program.

Many believe that this is a counter-programming tactic on WWE’s part to All Elite Wrestling airing also on Wednesday’s on TNT starting in October. As of this writing, WWE has not officially announced that the show will be moving to FS1 from their streaming service.

NXT Takeover: Toronto 2019 Live Results (8/10)

It’s been only one year since it was revealed that Riddle sat ringside at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, which confirmed that he was the newest signing to the brand. Since then, Riddle has risen up the ranks in the NXT system where he’s become one of the top stars on the brand.

Obviously, FS1 has a much larger reach in terms of viewership as they are in more homes and would see a spike in ratings for NXT.
