When Michael Elgin debuted on the main roster for Ring Of Honor in November 2010, he was considered a can’t miss prospect! He was looked at like a professional sports team looks at the prospects of a first round draft pick! With a nickname like “Unbreakable”, how could you not be anything but impressive?

As a member of the House of Truth, Elgin made quite the impact standing alongside “Mr. ROH” Roderick Strong and Truth Martini! Ring of Honor match makers really started to see Elgin grow rapidly with major wins in his rookie year over ROH standouts like El Generico and Current ROH Color Commentator Steve Corino! To cap off his rookie year and further prove his potential, Elgin won the 2011 Survival of the Fittest which featured Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa and current ROH World Tag Team Champion Kyle O’Reilly! The sky appeared to be the limit for the Unbreakable one!!

Elgin started to break out when he had enough of the antics of Martini and Strong! He broke away from the House of Truth and really started impressing officials and professional wrestling fans! After an impressive rookie year, Elgin faced then ROH World Champion Kevin Steen and came up a little short in his bid for his ROH World Championship! In true Elgin fashion, he didn’t let this get him down and got right back on the horse and started a sprint towards what he was calling his “destiny”! That destiny was to be the Ring of Honor World Champion!

Through all the wars he had been in, one thing was certain, there was no quit in “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin. On June 22, 2014 at Best in the World Michael Elgin joined an elite list of professional wrestlers and achieved his destiny of becoming the Ring of Honor World Champion! As the streamers flew in the building and the cameras faded on the pay per view audience at home, the scene was an emotional one as he sat in the ring cradling the championship that he chased and craved for so long!

Knowing the road would be tougher as champion he prepared; amped up his training and prepared himself for everything. On September 6, 2014, fate stepped in and Michael Elgin suffered his only his second loss of 2014! He lost the ROH World Championship to Jay Briscoe in Toronto, Canada.

Its public knowledge now, that due to clerical issues Michael Elgin could not leave Canada for a period of time. Ring of Honor officials and legal counsel quickly jumped in to assist in getting him back home as soon as possible. Michael Elgin has now returned to the United States and we are pleased to announce that he will appear THIS Saturday in Kalamazoo, Michigan!

2014 was record setting for Michael Elgin and Ring of Honor officials are expecting “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin to return with a new demeanor, a new fire and a new passion!! Elgin has surpassed all expectations put on him and this current setback is not nearly enough to curtail the former champion!!
