  • Mike Tyson-Jake Paul Fight Postponed Over Boxing/WWE Legend’s Health Issue

Mike Tyson-Jake Paul Fight Postponed Over Boxing/WWE Legend’s Health Issue

Boxing fans will have to wait a bit longer before the much-anticipated fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul due to a health issue Tyson is dealing with.

In a statement, it was confirmed that the fight had been postponed after medical experts monitored Tyson’s recent ulcer flare-up. It has been recommended that Tyson do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations.

Tyson and Paul have agreed that the fairest thing is to wait until both men are physically at their best for the fight. Tyson said he was appreciative of fans for their support before giving a word of warning to the ‘Problem Child.’

“Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”

Paul also gave a statement in which he made clear he plans for his victory over the WWE Hall of Famer to be unquestionable.

“I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake – when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish. Paul vs Tyson will be one for the ages.”

Paul Vs. Tyson was supposed to happen on July 20, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. Wrestling fans will recognize the venue as the host of WWE WrestleMania 38 in 2022. While Tyson promised the fight will happen later this year, no date has been confirmed.

  • Jake Paul Fires Back About His Upcoming Fight With Mike Tyson Being Scripted

Jake Paul Fires Back About His Upcoming Fight With Mike Tyson Being Scripted

Jake Paul really wants to knock out Mike Tyson. Paul and ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ had a press conference in Arlington, TX on Thursday. Paul shared some interesting quotes regarding his upcoming battle with Tyson and Jake was asked if any of their fight could be scripted. Paul dismisses that notion.

“I hope y’all keep that same energy when I knock this old man the f*ck out. Clearly, they don’t have a high IQ in here, but that’s a federal crime.”

    Mike Tyson Channels Scott Steiner

Tyson had his own set of words on his opponent Paul and pulled a classic page out of the book of Scott Steiner during the TNA days. Paul, who is noticably taller than Tyson, came in much bulked up. Tyson decided to make note of Jake’s weight gain.

“I don’t know if he’s in his prime. He’s fat. He should be lean and mean and he’s fat and funky. I saw him with his shirt off though and he’s fat.”

Paul responded to Tyson’s shot, and he didn’t shy away from his new bulkier frame.

“Hey, Buster Douglas was fat. Am I right? I know, but you know Buster Douglas, I’m better. I’m going to end you quicker than he did and you’ll remember that forever.”

The fight is set to take place on July 20 in the AT&T Stadium down in Dallas, TX, the home of WrestleMania 38 where Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, made his WrestleMania debut.

Netflix will host the fight, and whether that may be scripted or not, their new property WWE RAW will be at the start of 2025.

H/t to PWInsider for the quotes.

  • Jake Paul Hits Back At “Blatant” Lies After Logan Claims He Was Offered Mike Tyson Fight First

Jake Paul Hits Back At “Blatant” Lies After Logan Claims He Was Offered Mike Tyson Fight First

Jake Paul has called out his brother for claiming he was set to fight Mike Tyson first, and has claimed the WWE United States Champion is telling lies.

Jake Paul will face Tyson this July at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of WWE WrestleMania 32. The fight will stream on Netflix, in the latest example of the streaming giant’s efforts to get into the world of sports-entertainment broadcasting.

    Logan Paul’s Claim

While Jake Paul will be the one to face ‘Iron Mike’ this July, he may have not been the first Paul brother contacted about the fight. On a recent edition of his ImPaulsive podcast, Logan claimed that he was previously approached about fighting Tyson.

“I said no to fighting Mike Tyson. I was offered it, but not on Netflix and not for a big ass bag. It was just like, this could be a real fight.”

    Jake Paul Responds

It didn’t take long for Jake to issue a response. On the Betr podcast, Jake refuted the notion that his fight with Tyson only came about after Logan had said no.

“I hate that my brother and I’s relationship sometimes has to be aired out, but it seems as if the court of public opinion is the only thing that steers him in the right direction. It is weird to lie, to blatantly just lie.”

Jake added that he signed a deal with Netflix that would see the money he made depend on what kind of fighter he could find to face him. Jake makes clear that he was the one who brought the fight and Netflix deal to Tyson rather than Tyson’s people approaching him. He later spoke again about Logan’s alleged lies.

“Why is my own brother trying to make me look the second option for Tyson. Like, ‘Oh yeah, I turned down that deal.’ No, you didn’t. That’s a complete lie. Why are you fabricating lies?”

Jake said he’d prefer not to air dirty laundry in public, but that seems to be a recurring problem when it comes to dealing with his brother. Logan is expected to compete at WWE WrestleMania 40.

  • Netflix Showdown: Mike Tyson & Jake Paul to Collide In the Ring this July

Netflix Showdown: Mike Tyson & Jake Paul to Collide In the Ring this July

Boxing icon and WWE Hall of Famer Mike Tyson will be stepping back in the ring later this year to face none other than Jake Paul.

Paul, the brother of WWE United States Champion Logan Paul, will fight Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the home of WWE WrestleMania 32. In a statement shared by ESPN, Netflix’s VP, Non-Fiction Sports Gabe Spitzer shared his excitement for the showdown.

“Mike Tyson is one of the biggest icons in boxing history and Jake Paul is one of the biggest disruptors in boxing history… July 20 will be pure drama in the ring.”

    Mike Tyson in the Ring

Known as being one of, if not the greatest fighter in the sport, Tyson was the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. Tyson hasn’t had a pro fight since 2005 and hasn’t fought since his exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

In pro-wrestling, Tyson featured prominently in the build to WrestleMania 14 (coinciding with a suspension from professional boxing for biting Evander Holyfield.) He has made appearances for WWE in the ears since and has also appeared for AEW. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.

    Jake Paul In the Ring

At 27-years-old, Paul will enter the ring 31 years the junior of the legendary Tyson. The social media personality has proven himself in the ring, scoring a knockout on Nate Robinson in his second fight (on the undercard of the Tyson Vs. Jones fight.)

Paul has also dabbled in the world of wrestling. While nowhere near as involved as his brother, Jake appeared in the run-up to WWE Crown Jewel 2022, and aided his brother during the Undisputed WWE Universal title match with Roman Reigns. Jake Paul has also teased getting in the ring himself.

    WWE & Netflix

Netflix will host the much-anticipated fight in the streaming giant’s latest dive into the world of combat sports. In January 2025, WWE Raw will begin airing on Netflix as part of a $5 billion deal between the two sides. Fans outside of the U.S. will receive Raw, SmackDown, and WWE NXT in addition to WWE’s archives of Premium Live Events.

  • Ex-WWE Referee Spent an Hour Teaching Mike Tyson How to Count for WrestleMania 14

Ex-WWE Referee Spent an Hour Teaching Mike Tyson How to Count for WrestleMania 14

Mike Tyson may be considered one of the greatest boxers to ever grace the ring, but his time as a WWE-sanctioned official leaves a lot to be desired.

After being suspended from boxing for biting the ear of Evander Holyfield, Tyson joined the World Wrestling Federation in January 1998.

Tyson aligned himself with D-Generation X, but turned on the group at WrestleMania 14, knocking out Shawn Michaels in the ring.

    The Count

Despite WWF implying for weeks that Tyson would be competing at WrestleMania, the boxing legend was the ‘special enforcer’ for the main event between Michaels and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

Speaking on the latest Mailbag Monday, former WWE referee Mike Chioda revealed that he was tasked with teaching Tyson how to count the pinfall, which was a difficult process.

“Believe me, I tried to teach him how to count. … He counted so fast, I was like ‘Oh sh*t.’ I must have spent like an hour with him, ‘Here, just 1-2-3.’”

    Mike Chioda.

After this lengthy lesson, Tyson would count the pinfall for Austin, but despite all of Chioda’s training, the count is noticeably faster than it should be.

Tyson’s count would see Austin win his first WWF Championship and cement the ‘Attitude Era’ in professional wrestling.

    Tyson in Pro Wrestling

In January 2010, Tyson would serve as the guest host of Monday Night Raw, before being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April 2012.

Tyson was also a playable character as part of downloadable content for WWE ’13.

In April 2021, Tyson once again served as a special enforcer, this time for AEW, and returned to the promotion for an episode of AEW Rampage earlier this month.

  • Update on Plans for Mike Tyson’s Appearance on AEW Rampage

Update on Plans for Mike Tyson’s Appearance on AEW Rampage

Will Mike Tyson’s appearance on next week’s AEW Rampage be a one-off? Don’t bet on it.

During this week’s Rampage, it was confirmed that the Boxing icon will be on next Friday’s show, where he will provide guest commentary.

This marks the latest appearance from the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet,’ whose deal with AEW came together just days before the announcement.

    More than a Commentator

After Tyson’s appearance for next week was announced, it was reported that this will be a one-off for the Boxing legend.

That no longer appears to be the case, as PW Insider reports that his return to AEW will include multiple appearances.

If so, it is likely Mike will get physical during his time on Rampage, setting up a future appearance.

The last time Tyson appeared for AEW, he became a member of the Inner Cirlce, but Chris Jericho has since dissolved the group and formed the heel Jericho Appreciation Society.

    Tyson and Boardwalk Hall

Friday’s Rampage will be at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall which has played host to some of ‘Iron Mike’s biggest fights.

In October 1987, Tyson knocked out Tyrell Biggs in the seventh round, retaining his Undisputed Heavyweight Championship.

Less than a year later, the undefeated Tyson would face the also undefeated Michael Spinks, who also had a legitimate claim to being the heavyweight champion.

Tyson would again win, this time with a first-round knockout, giving Spinks his first loss in 32 fights.

Mike would fight Carl Williams in July 1989 and Alex Stewart in December 1990, winning both fights with first-round knockouts.

What Went Down During Mike Tyson’s Last AEW Appearance?

Tyson’s last AEW appearance occurred on April 7th, 2021 at Dynamite. There, Tyson bolted to the ring to fend off The Pinnacle as they attacked Chris Jericho. Tyson would lay a series of punches on “The Chairman” Shawn Spears before The Pinnacle members pulled him to safety. The Inner Circle then emerged, joining Tyson in the ring as The Pinnacle fled backstage. Tyson shared a hug with former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho as the two had seemingly patched things up from their previous encounters in the company.

Tyson also joined The Inner Circle in being named to Pro Wrestling Illustrated‘s 2021 Faction of the Year. Since Tyson’s last appearance in AEW, though, Jericho has gone on to adopt a heel persona and formed the Jericho Appreciation Society.

  • WWE Champion Approached About Possible Mike Tyson Fight

WWE Champion Approached About Possible Mike Tyson Fight

One current member of the WWE roster has been approached about a possible showdown with Mike Tyson.

Tyson may be 56 years old but he is more marketable than ever before. The former undisputed heavyweight champion of boxing has become a pop culture icon.

This of course has many promoters fawning to try to get him to fight again. Back in Nov. 2020, Tyson took on fellow boxing legend and Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout.

While a winner wasn’t determined, the general consensus is that Tyson got the better of Jones.

Could a WWE superstar be next for “Iron” Mike?

    Mike Tyson vs. Bobby Lashley?

Bobby Lashley is the current WWE United States Champion. While his MMA days have been behind him for a few years due to his WWE exclusivity, he hasn’t lost the itch to compete again.

Promoters are aware of this, which is why he was approached with an offer to fight Mike Tyson.

Fightful was told by Lashley that a rep from a bare-knuckle boxing company put out a feeler to see if such a bout would be possible.

Lashley said that the promotion in question had listed Madison Square Garden in New York City as a possible destination. Fightful wasn’t able to confirm which company approached Lashley.

Even though Lashley would be clearly outmatched by Tyson on the feet, “Iron” Mike isn’t a spring chicken these days. TMZ Sports recently recorded footage of Mike Tyson moving around NYC with a cane.

The outlet received word that Tyson is dealing with a sciatica flare-up. The source for TMZ claimed that this wasn’t due to a new injury, but rather wear and tear over the years.

  • Mike Tyson Will be Roasting Ric Flair This Summer

Mike Tyson Will be Roasting Ric Flair This Summer

Ric Flair will soon be on the receiving end of a roast from boxing legend Mike Tyson.

STARRCAST is helping put together what is being billed as “The Nature Boy’s” swan song. Flair is set to have his final match on July 31 inside the Nashville Fairgrounds. The type of match and participants have not been revealed.

TMZ first reported that Mike Tyson will take part in the “Roast of Ric Flair” on July 29th. STARRCAST has since confirmed the news.

Tyson has made many friends in the wrestling industry over the years. His shoving segment with Stone Cold Steve Austin back in the WWF Attitude Era days is an all-time classic. He also served as a guest host for Monday Night Raw and has made appearances on AEW TV.

    The Roast of Ric Flair

In a statement issued by STARRCAST, it was announced that the “Roast of Ric Flair” will feature some of Flair’s closest friends as well as comedians.

“The last weekend in July is going to be Ric’s swan song in a professional wrestling ring, so what better way to send him off before his final match than giving him a proper roast,” asked STARRCAST creator and organizer Conrad Thompson.

“Ric’s career has transcended professional wrestling and made him a pop culture icon. You’ve seen his influence everywhere from sports to hip hop. He’s done it all, except get roasted by some of his dearest friends and the most talented comedians in the world. That all changes on July 29th.”

  • Ric Flair Partners with Mike Tyson for New Cannabis Products

Ric Flair Partners with Mike Tyson for New Cannabis Products

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair and boxing legend Mike Tyson are now business partners.

Tyson, who is no stranger to the world of pro wrestling, is also a player in the world of legal cannabis. Back in December, he launched Tyson 2.0, which produces a line of premium cannabis strains sold through select retailers in Massachusetts and Nevada.

Tyson serves as the company’s Chief Brand Officer.

Ric Flair’s Tyson 2.0 Cannabis Products

Tyson 2.0 has acquired a majority stake in Ric Flair Drip Inc., an actual business entity owned by Ric Flair. The deal will see a line of Ric Flair-themed cannabis products.

In a press release sent out on Thursday, Flair commented on his entry into the world of legal marijuana. “Thanks to Mike Tyson and Tyson 2.0, I’ve become a true cannabis advocate and enthusiast,” said Flair. “I am thrilled to partner with a long time friend and fellow warrior whom I greatly admire and respect.”

“Tyson 2.0 products make me go ‘WOOOOO!’, and soon my fans everywhere can get in the Ric Flair state of mind – limousine riding, jet-flying, feeling good, and ‘WOOOOO!’”

    – Ric Flair

Flair says there are a lot of synergies between him and Mike Tyson. They’ve both experienced extreme highs and lows throughout their personal and professional lives.

The Nature Boy tweeted a photo with Tyson on Thursday from Mike Tyson’s podcast studio, so it looks like Flair will be appearing on an upcoming episode of Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson.

Tyson 2.0 recently released Mike Bites, a line of cannabis-infused gummies in the shape of an ear with a bite taken out of it.

  • WWE Tried to Get Mike Tyson to Voice-Over Summerslam Opening

WWE Tried to Get Mike Tyson to Voice-Over Summerslam Opening

WWE attempted to include WWE Hall of Famer Mike Tyson for Summerslam this Saturday.

PWinsider’s Mike Johnson reports that WWE wanted Tyson to do the voice-over for the opening video package for Summerslam. WWE has used celebrities to do voice-over work to open a pay-per-view in the past, like Johnny Depp. However, WWE was unsuccessful in making a deal with Tyson.

“…WWE plans called for Tyson to be the voiceover artist for opening video package for Saturday’s Summerslam PPV, which we are told will be built around WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. John Cena,” said PWInsider. The report also shared that it is unclear who will serve as the voice-over artist now that Tyson is unavailable.

    Mike Tyson History in WWE

Tyson and WWE have had a long history with each other. Tyson is a well-known pro wrestling, and he was an important figure during the “Attitude Era.” His involvement in WWE during 1998, including Wrestlemania 14, helped bring more attention to the company. He joined the WWE Hall of Fame Celebrity Wing on April 2, 2012. However, since 2012, Tyson has not appeared on WWE television.

Tyson has expressed interest in returning to WWE in the past. It’s unclear if WWE has attempted to reach out to Tyson to do business in recent years.

    Tyson involvement in AEW

While WWE hasn’t been able to do business with Tyson, All Elite Wrestling had him involved in significant storylines last year.

Tyson’s first appearance at AEW Dynamite on May 27, 2020, teased him getting into a feud with Chris Jericho. On his Youtube channel, Jericho revealed that AEW wanted Tyson to face him at AEW All out on September 5, 2020.

“Originally, I was supposed to work with Tyson at the September PPV.  All Out II, I think, and we just couldn’t get it done in time,” Jericho said.

Tyson’s last appearance in AEW was AEW Dynamite on April 14th. He served as a guest enforcer for Jericho vs. Dax Harwood. Tyson prevented Harwood’s tag team partner from interfering in the match, and Jericho earned the victory. Both Tyson and Jericho officially ended their feud on the episode as well.

More Celebrities Unable to Attend Summerslam

While the WWE was hoping to use Tyson for Summerslam, they also had other celebrities planned for the event. Fightful Select reports that WWE wanted artist Meg thee Stallion to appear, but the deal fell through.

“…WWE sources indicated they thought it was a done deal but were informed last weekend it wouldn’t be happening,” said Fightful Select.

The report also mentioned that WWE also wanted artist Cardi B involved as well. However, when she announced her pregnancy, it ended her involvement with Summerslam.

  • Chris Jericho Talks About a Potential Mike Tyson Fight

Chris Jericho Talks About a Potential Mike Tyson Fight

Chris Jericho is a wrestler who continues to evolve in wrestling business. It is one of the reasons he is held in such high regard by those that love the sport. His recent transition from heel to babyface is a prime example of this.

Not only did his character go from the most hated to the most cheered for, but he did it with an entire faction. There is no denying that the Inner Circle are now firm faces in AEW. While this sets the stage so well for their blood and guts match with The Pinnacle this month, it did put a spanner in the works of another potential rivalry.

Iron Mike Tyson first appeared on AEW back in May last year and quickly built some solid heat with Chris Jericho. A heel at the time, their confrontation got fans talking about a potential fight.

Chris Jericho Still Interested in Working with Mike Tyson

Talking in an interview with the NY Post, Christ Jericho talked about his time working with Mike Tyson. Remarking how his recent move to a babyface character effectively put the brakes on the pair ever facing off in the squared circle.

“I’d love to have a match with Mike, but the dynamic has switched. You don’t want Mike coming in as a bad guy. That’s hard to do, he’s Mike Tyson and Jericho is a good guy, so we can’t really work each other.”

All hope is not lost, however, as Chris Jericho believes there is a way for the pair to get in the ring and have a good match.

“So maybe we can do a tag team against somebody else.” Jericho was quick to add.

A partnership between the two could work very well, as Jericho’s experience in the ring could help Tyson’s lack thereof. Whatever happens, it sounds that if Chris Jericho has his way, we will be seeing Mike Tyson in AEW again.

  • Mike Tyson Saves Chris Jericho On AEW Dynamite

Mike Tyson Saves Chris Jericho On AEW Dynamite

As advertised, Mike Tyson made an appearance on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT, which marked his first appearance in AEW with a live crowd.

On the show, the boxing legend showed up in the second hour when The Pinnacle was attacking Chris Jericho in the ring. The rest of the Inner Circle was locked in a room backstage and was making their way out to the ring. After Tyson and Inner Circle stood tall in the ring, Jericho and Tyson hugged in peace, a reference to their past.

    https://twitter.com/FiteTV/status/1379967412242554882

Tyson made an appearance at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view event last year where he presented the TNT Championship to the winner of Cody Rhodes vs. Lance Archer, which served as the tournament finals to crown the inaugural TNT Champion.

AEW followed up with another Tyson appearance on the May 27, 2020 edition of Dynamite where he was involved in a brawl alongside some of his friends with Jericho and the Inner Circle. This episode did 827,000 live viewers and a 0.32 in the important 18-49 demographic.

After this angle was shot, there had been some speculation about a match between the boxing great and Jericho happening. Jericho previously confirmed there were plans to do a match with Tyson at the AEW All Out PPV event on September 5th, but due to Tyson’s fight with Roy Jones jr. happening on September 12th, they had to postpone it.

  • Mike Tyson Returning To AEW Dynamite This Wednesday

Mike Tyson Returning To AEW Dynamite This Wednesday

AEW has announced that Mike Tyson will be returning to AEW this Wednesday night on Dynamite. It’s been 11 months since “The Baddest Man on the Planet” appeared on Dynamite along with his entourage and confronted Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle. He also appearedon the Double or Nothing PPV in May of 2020.

“There are many reasons I wanted Mike to come back,” Khan said to SI.com. “He made a huge impact last year at Double or Nothing, and we’re at a point where we can bring him back in front of our fans. The fans who have come to the shows in Jacksonville have added so much to AEW, and it’s important for me that our fans get to see him live. We’re excited to have Mike back.”

Tony Khan was also quoted in a press release for this week’s Dynamite.

“There’s nothing better than an impassioned, live wrestling crowd. Since August 2020, we’ve provided safe, outdoor shows at Daily’s Place, with zero reported transmissions amongst our fans, and we’re so appreciative of the amazing fans who have been joining us week after week,” Khan said.

“It’s been incredible for our wrestlers, and for those watching at home, to hear the live reactions. This includes historic events like Kenny Omega winning the AEW World Title, Sting’s surprise arrival, Shaq teaming with Jade Cargill against Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet, The Young Bucks and Darby Allin’s respective championship wins at FULL GEAR, and so many other magic moments. Likewise, Mike Tyson always commands a massive ovation and the attention of fans worldwide. I’m excited for everyone here in Jacksonville, and for those watching on TNT and around the world, to see what Mike Tyson has in store for AEW.”

  • Chris Jericho vs. Mike Tyson Was Planned For AEW All Out

Chris Jericho vs. Mike Tyson Was Planned For AEW All Out

Chris Jericho says his confrontation with Mike Tyson on AEW Dynamite this past spring was supposed to culminate in a match at September’s All Out pay-per-view. Jericho made the revelation on his latest Saturday Night Special YouTube show.

“Originally, I was supposed to work with Tyson at the September PPV, All Out II, and we just couldn’t get it done in time,” Jericho said.

“The second match I had with Orange [Cassidy] was originally going to be the Mimosa Mayhem Match but we moved it to the rubber match position.”

Jericho had the following to say to ESPN shortly after Tyson’s appearance on Dynamite this May.

“Whatever it is that we decide to do as we move forward, it’ll be great. You have one of the most iconic boxers—and most iconic personalities—of all time against one of the greatest pro wrestlers and personalities of all time. It writes itself.”

Tyson’s return to boxing likely played a role in negotiations between him and AEW breaking down for All Out II. “Iron Mike” is scheduled to face Roy Jones Jr. in a charity fight on November 28th, 2020. It will be Tyson’s first fight since 2005. The 54-year-old former Heavyweight Champion has a professional record of 50.

  • Jim Ross – “It Wasn’t Our Intention To ‘No Sell’ Mike Tyson’s Entourage”

Jim Ross – “It Wasn’t Our Intention To ‘No Sell’ Mike Tyson’s Entourage”

AEW Commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently discussed the segment between Mike Tyson and Chris Jericho on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT. Good Ol’ JR would talk about the importance of having such a mainstream figure like Tyson on the programme, and address some of the ‘controversial’ elements of the moment on Grilling JR.

“Mike Tyson is a very polarising figure, he garners publicity” Jim Ross would begin on the podcast. “I think that’s why anybody…when we used him in WWE back in the day? When Tyson was there and he did the thing with Austin and Shawn and all that stuff? Mike got the company a great deal of publicity. Like I said, he’s polarising. He’s a lightning rod and people are so interested in what he does.”

Jim Ross would then discuss one of the controversies of the segment. Both Tyson and Jericho were flanked by their entourages during the in-ring promo, and Tyson in particular had some big names from the MMA world with him. Unfortunately, the AEW commentary team were not made aware that the mixed martial artists were there, and subsequently they did not mention them on the broadcast.

    Jim Ross on ‘Controversy’

“So, that I will say this, there was a controversy in the show a few weeks ago” Jim Ross could continue. “Tyson came out to confront Chris Jericho and with him there were some MMA legends. And we didn’t mention them.”

Jim Ross would elaborate further, saying “Rashad Evans? He was not mentioned because we didn’t know he was part of the entourage, you know? Vitor Belfort? Same deal. They were in a mass group. And they were kind of camouflaged. I heard [Dave] Meltzer talking about it, all these guys talking about it; about the fact that we didn’t mention them and we basically ‘no sold’ them. Well it wasn’t our intent to ‘no sell’ anybody, right? The intent was to get everybody over. But no one told me, Excalibur or Tony who all was in the entourage.”

Mike Tyson Sends Message To Chris Jericho Backstage After Dynamite (Video)

The trash talk between Chris Jericho and Mike Tyson continued after this week’s AEW Dynamite went off the air.

Jericho called out Mike Tyson on Dynamite, saying that he’s got unfinished business with the boxing legend stemming from an incident on Monday night Raw a decade ago. Tyson and his entourage then confronted Jericho and a massive pull-apart took place to close out the show.

After Dynamite went off the air, AEW cameras caught up with Tyson backstage. “Iron” Mike had a very clear message for Chris Jericho.

“Hey, I’m telling you this is not over, I’m coming back and Jericho is going to get his a** kicked,” Tyson said.

Cameras also caught up with Chris Jericho. Le Champion was so upset at what occurred that he was hitting things backstage with his baseball bat, Floyd.

“You want to see what happens?!” Jericho said. “I’ll make you pay, Tyson, I’ll make you pay!”

Tyson and Jericho’s comments can be heard in the player below:

Jericho and Tyson actually teamed up together on RAW 10-years ago. This was the incident that Jericho was referring to on Dynamite. Jericho and Tyson were taking on D-X when Tyson turned on Jericho and knocked him out.

Jericho spoke with Digital Spy on Thursday to promote the UK premiere of Dark Side of the Ring: Season 2 on June 8th.

During the discussion, Jericho said it was amazing to have Mike Tyson in AEW. He called the chaotic brawl was the perfect chance to re-introduce Tyson to wrestling fans and pave the way for additional appearances.

“It was totally wild and woolly,” Jericho said. “It just shows that now more than ever Iron Mike Tyson is someone who’s very buzz-worthy.”

Mike Tyson has been hinting at a return to the boxing ring. The 53-year-old has released several training videos to the amazement of fight fans across the world. Chris Jericho was asked directly if we will see Mike Tyson is able and to compete inside an AEW ring. Le Champion responded in typical Jericho fashion.

“It’s not up to him, that’s up to me,” he said. “Of course, he’s capable. Wrestling is all shapes and sizes and there’s a lot of different ways to do it. If he’s agreeable to doing something with us, then we work to his strengths and eliminate his weaknesses that’s what wrestling’s all about.”

A wrestling match involving Mike Tyson would require a lot of smoke and mirrors. Even if Tyson is heavily protected and simply throws a few of his signature knockout punches, a special attraction bout of this magnitude could be major business for AEW.

  • Mike Tyson: I’d Love to be Back in WWE

Mike Tyson: I’d Love to be Back in WWE

Mike Tyson is someone who many WWE fans are familiar with.

Tyson is a Hall of Fame boxer. He’s won multiple championships in the heavyweight division. With scintillating knockouts over the likes of Trevor Berbick, Michael Spinks, Larry Holmes, and many more Tyson’s fan base grew astronomically.

During the 1990s, Tyson had developed a reputation for being a bruiser with a bad attitude and that’s exactly the direction the WWE was going in. The company brought Tyson on board to be the special guest referee in the main event of WrestleMania 14. Tyson ended up raising Stone Cold Steve Austin’s hand and handed the WWE title to him over the fallen Shawn Michaels. “HBK” received a right hand to the jaw from Tyson soon after.

Years later, Tyson was invited back for an episode of Monday Night Raw as the guest host. Tyson was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2012. Tyson felt the love from WWE fans, and he wants to experience it again.

WWE’s Cathy Kelly was on the scene at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and briefly spoke to Tyson, who said the following:

“I’m always willing to come back. I love the WWE, yeah. I’d love to be back.”

WWE’s Cathy Kelley was at the Kid’s Choice Awards recently. John Cena was hosting the event and Mike Tyson was also in attendance. Kelley caught up with Tyson to ask him about possibly returning to WWE someday and his thoughts on Ronda Rousey.

“I’m always willing to come back. I love the WWE, yes.” – Mike Tyson

“I think she’s going to do well”, Tyson said when asked how thinks Ronda Rousey will fare in WWE. Tyson knows what it is like to come in from another sport and be asked to perform at WrestleMania. He played a big role at WrestleMania 14 in the main event between Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin.

Tyson was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013.

    – Former WCW announcer and “What Happened When?” podcast host Tony Schiavone is Jim Ross’ guest on this week’s Ross Report podcast.

    – John Cena noted on Twitter that today marks 5 years since he and fiancée Nikki Bella had their first date. Congrats to them.

    – Finally, WWE is known for world class production values, but there are some aspects of its television presentation that many fans find irritating. One example is the “shaky cam” technique used during brawls. Another is the unrealistic viewing angle wrestlers use when watching the monitors backstage. When asked by a fan on Twitter, “Wassup wit dat?”, Becky Lynch said WWE Superstars just can’t help themselves.
