Mojo Rawley On Hype Bros Wasting Their Opportunities, UK Title Match Tonight On NXT

Mojo Rawley backstage interview

On this week’s episode of SmackDown, the Hype Bros faced off against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin. The Hype Bros didn’t put up too much of a fight and Gable & Benjamin cruised to a quick victory. After the match, Mojo Rawley shook hands with Gable and Benjamin. Zack Ryder wasn’t too fond of that and refused to show sportsmanship. Instead, Ryder exited the ring and stormed backstage, leaving his tag partner behind.

WWE uploaded a new SmackDown Fallout video with Mojo Rawley backstage. Rawley gave credit to Gable and Benjamin in their victory tonight. Mojo said that the loss was very disappointing for the Hype Bros and before Ryder got injured they were number one contenders. Rawley said that after Ryder got hurt he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and accomplished a lot.

Mojo claimed that the Hype Bros cannot even win a match right now and that they are wasting their opportunities. Rawley said that he doesn’t know what is wrong right now, but they better figure it out quickly. Rawley then walked away.

UK Championship match tonight on NXT

Pete Dunne will defend his UK Championship tonight on NXT against Wolfgang. WWE uploaded the following video to hype the match.

Backstage News On Why Baron Corbin Failed To Cash In His Money In The Bank Contract

It was a surprising moment for fans when Baron Corbin decided to cash in his Money In The Bank contract just 5 days prior to SummerSlam PPV and almost nobody expected him to lose.

After his unsuccessful cash in, Corbin became the third superstar in WWE History to win the Money In The Bank but fail to win the title after John Cena and Damien Sandow.

This led to a lot of rumours about why WWE rushed the cash in just 5 days before the upcoming PPV and more importantly why they called for Corbin to lose the match in such a quick manner.

Many believed he may be injured or have some backstage heat. Though now Dave Meltzer has revealed a completely different reason behind the surprising decision.

A fan jokingly asked Meltzer on twitter if the heated verbal exchange between him and Corbin was the reason why Baron lost his Championship match, replying to which he revealed that John Cena and Mojo Rawley are the reason behind it:

While Dave didn’t open up much about the issue, another report from Cage Side Seats shed some more light on how the two mentioned stars were responsible for it.

According to it, Officials lost faith in the Money In The Bank winner because he couldn’t stand in the verbal battle against John Cena. His twitter rant with fellow SmackDown roster member Mojo Rawley only contributed to Official’s distress.

While it’s widely believed that Corbin wasn’t ready to hold the WWE title, it’s also true that there were many other ways to take the contract away from him and the quick defeat which added nothing to any of the involving star’s profile could have been avoided.

We expect to receive some more updates on Baron Corbin’s failed cash in, in the next few days and we’ll keep you posted as new details come to light.

Stone Cold Steve Austin Praises Mojo Rawley’s Recent Promo

Mojo Rawley has received quite a bit of a singles push during the absence of his tag team partner, Zack Ryder, from the ring. Rawley won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33 earlier this year, after receiving some assistance from New England Patriots’ Tight End Rob Gronkowski. He was even given a one-on-one match against WWE Champion Jinder Mahal on SmackDown Live, which he ultimately lost. Rawley has also been given the opportunity to show off his skills on the microphone on WWE TV – and those skills haven’t gone unnoticed.

WWE Hall Of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin took to his podcast, The Steve Austin Show, to praise the “Hype Bros” member’s recent performance on the mic, and raved about the former football star’s charisma:

“Just as far as the charisma of this guy, he’s got something…he’s got a real ease with words and I thought the way he presented them came off as organic as hell”

“For those people that are trying to cut a promo, watch how easy this guy pulls this thing off. It is not like he has been around the horn for a million years either and he’s only going to get better. I thought it was a really solid interview by the kid backstage”

Kurt Angle Thinks John Cena Is The Greatest Of All Time, Rob Gronkowski To WWE?

Kurt Angle was recently interviewed by Forbes and stated that John Cena will do down as the best of all time.

“John Cena is the man. I don’t know anybody else who has gone 13 years on top…I’m not going to say he’s was greatest athlete in WWE history, but he will go down as the greatest of all time in WWE history.”

Angle also revealed that he would like either Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker or Brock Lesnar to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. You can check out the entire article by clicking here.

Mojo Rawley did an interview with ESPN and was asked about his friend Rob Gronkowski. Rawley revealed that Gronk may wind up in the WWE after he is done playing football.

“Trust me, we’ve been talking about this for years and whenever the time is right and whenever the stars are aligned, I can tell you he will be raring to get over here. He’s fired up doing something with me here at WWE, and I can’t wait to have him. We’ve been dreaming about it for years.”
