WWE Superstar Natalya may have revealed Lana’s new ring attire in a new tweet posted earlier today. Natalya was promoting the new episode of Total Divas that airs later this evening. WWE has been hyping Lana’s SmackDown debut for the past couple of weeks and have released two videos. In both videos, Lana is seen dancing by a chair and the videos ends with “coming soon to SmackDown Live”. In the photo below, Lana’s new ring gear may have been revealed.
A fan sent a tweet to WWE Superstar Nia Jax and stated that he would love to see Tamina Snuka and Nia Jax square off in the ring. Nia Jax quoted the tweet and ensured the fan that he will see that in the future. Tamina Snuka and Nia Jax are cousins and Nia claimed that “nobody fights harder than family”.
I would love to see @TaminaSnuka and @NiaJaxWWE square off in the ring.
WWE Superstar Natalya is the latest guest on Lilian Garcia’s Making Their Way to the Ring podcast. In an intimate discussion about her legendary career, Natalya reveals how she had once had an eating disorder and how wrestling helped to cure her, how Total Divas has taught her how to be vulnerable, as well as speaks on her uncle Brett Hart’s cancer, and what it’s like being a member of the Hart family, in this exclusive interview.
Here are some highlights they sent in:
Natalya reveals her eating disorder: “Its funny because Alexa Bliss talked about having an eating disorder and stuff and I actually-this is the first time I’ve ever talked about this: Nattie exclusive, but I had an eating disorder when I was eighteen and um, it lasted for about, I mean they say it never really goes away, but um it spanned the course of about three years and I went from a hundred and sixty pounds, in the course of two months after my uncle Owen died-the summer that my uncle died, I lost forty pounds in two months. And my family was really scared and I remember being very angry at them and thinking like ‘Why are they confronting me? They should be happy, I look great’. I didn’t realize it until years later how crazy and scary I looked losing that much weight. I was wearing kids clothes and it was a really hard time for me, but I was reeling from the tragedy of my uncle passing away and how that affected my family and also I think because my Dad wasn’t a part of my life because he was working, and busy, and gone.” she went on to explain her reasons saying “I don’t know if this is the right way of putting this, but my eating disorder was a lot about control. I couldn’t control anything else that was going on in my life, but I could control what I ate.”
How Wrestling helped Natalya recover: “It’s a little bit liberating and I actually talked to Alexa Bliss about it when she came forward and said she had gone through this I said ‘I just give you so much credit because it takes a lot of courage to talk about it’. You know, since that happened I just never ever shared that publicly with anyone. It was just something I just didn’t want to have to relive but then I also thought you know, again now that Alexa has talked about her situation it made me really respect her more. Because it like, no we can actually raise awareness and help teach young girls that going through something like this is very common-it’s actually becoming a lot more common with body image. It’s something lots of people go through, whether it’s bulimia, or anorexia, or binge-eating disorder.” Specifically, she went on to say “Me getting into wrestling helped cure that eating disorder and I never looked back. Once I fell in love with wrestling I just realized-especially with the help of TJ because TJ was my very first trainer, I wanted to do that and I wasn’t going to let food hold me back and so slowly I started to kind of reintroduce myself to food and I did put on some weight because once you go from starving yourself to eating you do gain weight. I’d gotten a little heavier, but I was happier and I was happier because I was pursuing a passion which was wrestling.”
Natalya learning how to be vulnerable through Total Divas: “There was a time, especially in WWE where I felt like it was never going to be my time and before I got picked to do Total Divas I was actually going back to school on the side doing online classes. I was thinking about getting into law and it really interested me. Then you know I had gone to Rwanda and did this four day retreat with the United Nations Foundation, we visited two refugee camps, over thirty thousand refugees and it was this life-changing trip.” she continued, “So I got home and that week Triple H pulls me aside and says, ‘Nattie, we picked you to be a part of Total Divas and it’s this new show that we’re doing and it’s gonna document you and a few other girls and your lives and in and out of the ring and it’s very special, blah, blah, blah, blah’. I was so blown away by Triple H asking me to be a part of it and I was just like ‘Wow this is just incredible. I’m just getting this new opportunity and it was the greatest opportunity for me that I could have at that moment and I’ve been on the show since the very beginning. For four years, six full seasons, and it’s been the opportunity of a lifetime. I’ve loved it, but it’s also taught me which is what I was saying before, what it is to be vulnerable. That what people really connect with is you laughing, crying, showing people that you’re not perfect, opening up and saying ‘You know what I’m human and I make mistakes. We fall down and we get back up’”, Natalya goes on to reveal, “I really opened myself up to being vulnerable on that show and I felt like when I went up to induct Beth at the Hall of Fame this past week, I was like, I felt like all that Total Divas vulnerability helped me on that stage where I could just be like totally vulnerable and I even at one point choked up and started crying onstage when I was talking about my uncle Owen and people just said that I had them in, people just said ‘You and Beth had me in tears’. I feel like people want to be let in you know, but not everyone will let you in, not everyone knows how to do that, but I feel like I learned that that’s okay.”
Natalya on her uncle Bret Hart going through cancer: “He’s completely healed from cancer, but you know cancer, I’ll forever, forever be indebted and grateful to Bret for coming to be by my side at that pay per view after WrestleMania, um dealing with just having beaten cancer. He had just had surgery like a couple months prior, not even like two months like six weeks and he didn’t feel good at all.” she continued, “He was by my side for that match and he didn’t feel good because he was still recovering but he was there for me and I will always remember that and I think really last year he’s just been getting his sea legs back because it was a lot what he endured and it was very scary for him. And I can tell he was really scared by everything, mentally, physically, it scared him so much. You know cancer really doesn’t run in our family. Our family doesn’t really that much of a history with it and so Bret really wanted to use his situation with cancer as a platform to help others that are going through the same thing and so what’s funny is that once Bret announced that he had cancer there was a surge and they did a story on it actually in the paper and on the news. There was a surge, thousands of men across the province of Alberta, where Bret lives, went to get checked for prostate cancer. And they did a special on it on the news saying it was Bret Hart that helped raise so much awareness by coming forward about his cancer.”
Natalya on being a part of the Hart family: “I think as I’ve grown older I realized just how special my family is. When you’re young you kind of take it for granted and you don’t realize when your uncles are Bret ‘the Hitman’ Hart and Owen Hart, the British Bulldog, my Dad’s on TV, and my grandfather’s you know, now a WWE Hall of Famer, Stu Hart. When I was around them when I was a little kid, they were just my uncles. They were just you know, just my dad, it’s just my grandpa. And then as I’ve grown older I’ve realized that my family is extremely special and really iconic in this wild wonderful world of WWE. Now I realize just how special they are and I’m very very proud of them. But I also admire the fact that we’ve been able to go through hell and come out alive.”

WWE announced today that Natalya will induct her best friend and former partner Beth Phoenix into the WWE Hall of Fame later this month in Orlando during WrestleMania 33 weekend.
“There’s nobody that I can think of that deserves to be in the WWE Hall of Fame more than Beth Phoenix,” Natalya told WWE.com. “She’s a pioneer for women in our division. Beth did extraordinary things for women in WWE.”
Phoenix followed in the footsteps of Chyna when she became the second woman in history to enter the Royal Rumble match back in 2010. “Beth broke down a lot of walls for women in the industry in the sense that she wasn’t a cookie-cutter-type female wrestler,” Natalya explained.
The 2017 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony airs live on the WWE Network next Friday, March 31 at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
AJ Styles attacked Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon last night on Smackdown and slammed his head through a car window. Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan then “fired” AJ Styles shortly after that. Smackdown went off the air with Shane McMahon stating that Styles now has an opponent for Wrestlemania 33. Today, the WWE has removed Styles from their active roster on their website and placed him in the Alumni roster. Styles clearly isn’t actually fired but it appears that Smackdown will be continuing with the storyline that Styles is off the Smackdown roster, even after Shane McMahon challenged him to a match last night.
Carmella and Mickie James were on Talking Smack last night and were interrupted by Natalya and Becky Lynch. Natalya declared herself the leader of the Women’s division on Smackdown and nobody bought it. Alexa Bliss then showed up and blamed Daniel Bryan for causing all of this chaos. Daniel Bryan announced last week that Alexa Bliss will be defending her Smackdown Women’s Championship against “every available woman on the Smackdown roster” at Wrestlemania 33.
– Naomi announced on tonight’s SmackDown that she suffered an injury during her SmackDown Women’s Championship win over Alexa Bliss at Sunday’s Elimination Chamber PPV. Naomi did not give many details on the injury but she indicated that it is minor. She didn’t realize she suffered an injury until returning to her hotel room later that night.
Bliss and Naomi did an angle tonight that set up a potential rematch for next Tuesday night, depending on Naomi’s status. We will keep you updated on Naomi’s status when WWE announces any details.
– Coming off their Double Countout at Elimination Chamber on Sunday, Natalya and Nikki Bella will look to finish their feud on next Tuesday’s SmackDown from Ontario, CA. SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan announced tonight that Nikki vs. Natalya will take place next week in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
WWE announced the following on the match:
After months of verbal assaults, blindside attacks and raucous brawls, Nikki Bella and Natalya will finally settle the score when they face off in a Falls Count Anywhere Match next week on SmackDown LIVE.
The match announcement was spurred on by SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan after the two Superstars got into another scrap, this time in Bryan’s office. Realizing that this issue could not continue much longer without some serious and dangerous repercussions, Bryan scheduled for the two to compete in a Falls Count Anywhere Match next week on Team Blue.
Who will come out the winner in one of WWE’s most unpredictable contests? Find out next week on SmackDown LIVE!
– WWE taped Epico vs. Darren Young and Dana Brooke vs. Alicia Fox for this week’s Main Event episode. As reported here, Young suffered an arm injury during the match.
– Singer Sophia Grace will premiere her new “Hollywood” music video on tonight’s SmackDown with appearances by Lana, Naomi, The Bella Twins and Sasha Banks. Here’s a behind the scenes look:
– Former WWE star Ted DiBiase, Jr. was backstage for Sunday’s WWE house show in Jackson, MO as he lives in the area. Natalya tweeted this photo with him:
Nikki Bella mentioned on last night’s SmackDown that she had some things to say to Natalya’s face and it looks like their feud will further on next Tuesday’s show from Jacksonville, FL. The two had this exchange after last night’s SmackDown with Nikki saying they will finish things next week:
I said you are a NOTHING. I meant YOU are a NOTHING. And you will do NOTHING. And that's why he won't marry you….. @BellaTwins 😄 #SDLive
You are unreal. I don't know what's gotten into you. We will finish this next week. Over it for the evening. Go play with your cats. N https://t.co/dx9biYy4kI
There’s been another twist to the feud as Natalya’s uncle, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, took to Twitter during SmackDown and praised Nikki last night. He wrote:
Watching Smackdown Live, I admire Nikki's work ethic and determination. She's always been one of my favorites. @BellaTwins pic.twitter.com/z7iIuuIjFC
Rhyno was dressed as Santa Claus last night for the entire episode of Talking Smack. He creepily hit on Renee Young the entire show and it was glorious.
Natalya was also a guest on Talking Smack and she continued to take shots at Nikki Bella. Natalya stated that she is wrestling royalty and Nikki Bella was handed everything because she was pretty. Daniel Bryan took exception to this given the fact that he is married to Brie Bella. Natalya claimed that the Bella twins were not in her class because she is a member of the Hart family.
Becky Lynch appeared on Talking Smack and she was still dressed as La Luchadore. Becky stated that she was ashamed that the Women’s division was represented by Alexa Bliss on Smackdown. Rhyno Claus started acting naughty again and rubbed a chocolate chip cookie on his chest in an effort to impress Becky Lynch.
Baron Corbin went on Talking Smack and claimed that he was the biggest threat in the Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship next week on Smackdown. Corbin went on to say that Styles would pay for the four chair shots he gave to Corbin last night on Smackdown. Corbin didn’t seem to worried about Dolph Ziggler or AJ Styles. Corbin was also frustrated that Daniel Bryan made a match to determine the #1 contender to the WWE Championship while Corbin was away accepting his award for Most Metal Athlete of 2016.
It would be shocking if Baron Corbin won the WWE Championship next week but there is no denying that he will be in the main event picture in 2017. Corbin has been on Talking Smack several times and he has done well every time he has appeared on the show. On Smackdown, Corbin’s promos sometimes feel forced. I’m not sure if it is because the promos are scripted or if Corbin simply tries too hard during Smackdown. Either way, Corbin has the potential to be great once he puts everything together. He is well on his way to becoming WWE Champion and one of the biggest stars on Smackdown.
– The WWE TLC pay-per-view ranked #2 for the night in Nielsen’s social media TV ratings, right behind The Walking Dead. TLC drew 181,000 Twitter interactions with 31,000 unique authors and 173,000 Facebook interactions with 94,000 unique authors.
– As seen at TLC, Carmella revealed that it was Natalya who attacked Nikki Bella at Survivor Series, not Carmella. It appears we will get Natalya vs. Carmella on this week’s SmackDown as Natalya tweeted the following today:
Rookies need to learn the consequences of opening their mouths. You talked at #WWETLC@CarmellaWWE but better be ready to fight on #SDLive!
– WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens ripped SmackDown announcer David Otunga on Twitter today, following Otunga’s fat joke during the WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view on Sunday. You can see Owens’ Twitter assault below:
– Below are Total Divas previews for tomorrow with Jim Neidhart teaching Lana to shot put, Naomi visiting the PULSE Night Club in Orlando with her uncle and The Bella Twins shooting the cover for Latina Magazine:
There has been speculation on Nikki Bella being injured after she was pulled from the Team SmackDown vs. Team RAW women’s Survivor Series match and replaced by team coach Natalya. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Nikki is not injured.
The backstage angle with Natalya replacing Nikki, who had just been “attacked” by someone, has been the plan for weeks, going back to when the match was first put together by WWE officials.
Meltzer speculates that this was done to set up a Bella vs. Natalya feud.
WWE Superstar Natalya’s front teeth were knocked out during a match at Saturday’s WWE live event in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Total Divas cast member teamed up with Carmella and Alexa Bliss to take on the duo of Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella in a three-on-two match. Natalya posted these before and after photos of her at the dentist getting her smile restored. All in a day’s work!
– WWE posted the following clip featuring Maria Menounos along with WWE Superstars Summer Rae, Renee Young, Natalya, Lana, Alexa Bliss, Alicia Fox and Naomi appearing at the Tapout workout in New York City over Summerslam weekend:
– Mojo Rawley is scheduled for an upcoming David Alan Clothing fashion show to benefit the American Cancer Society. Below are tweets from Rawley regarding this opportunity:
– Former ECW & WWE stars Rob Van Dam and Sabu will be appearing on Thursday’s episode of “Traveling the Stars: Ancient Aliens with Action Bronson and Friends” on VICE’s new VICELAND channel.
– We recently reported that WWE Smackdown Superstar Natalya has been working out to get in better ring shape over the past year. Both Nattie and Alicia Fox sat down to speak with “The National” to discuss their fitness regimen as well as the new era for women in the WWE. Natalya notes that she’s been working with Rob MacIntyre of the “Hard Knocks South” gym, who’s also worked with stars such as John Cena. Natalya had this to say regarding her progress and goals:
“My coach, Rob MacIntyre, trained Olympians and (fellow WWE wrestlers) John Cena, Nikki Bella, Cesaro, and the list goes on. He has helped streamline my workout through an app he’s designed called Mogy. If I have only half an hour, I’ll go into my app find a workout that he’s designed for me and focus on just a few lifts. I’ll focus on doing a few Olympic lifts that work my whole body.
The workout is very important so that I warm-up my body for a match. I’ll go into Rob’s app and I’ll find three lifts I like: I’ll do a clean and jerk combo, I’ll do some Olympic dead lifts and some squats. If I don’t have a lot of time, I won’t lift really heavy, I’ll lift for reps. If I have more time, I lift heavier weights. I have a weightlifting belt I wear. It’s really awesome. The Olympic lift helped me a lot with my in-ring performance. If I only have 30 minutes, Rob recommends low weight and high reps.”
– TubeFilter.com listed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s YouTube channel as their “Top Gainer” for the month of July 2016. Rock’s channel came in at number six in terms of worldwide subscribers, after posting his first video during the last week of June. On a somewhat related note, WWE ranked #70 on the chart for July, bringing in 376,667 subscribers and 524,305,620 views. They ranked 59th in June, whereas the Rock was not yet listed.
Speaking of the Rock, his very first “Vlog” post can be seen below via his YouTube channel:
– Join us later tonight for our SmackDown Live coverage and discussion. WWE is advertising AJ Styles will react to his win over John Cena at SummerSlam and an appearance from Nikki Bella. We’ll also probably get an update on Randy Orton’s medical condition following SummerSlam, which saw him receive 10 staples in his head to close the gash opened by Brock Lesnar’s elbow.
It will be interesting to see how the Lesnar situation is addressed tonight. Stephanie McMahon noted on RAW that there will be repercussions for Lesnar delivering an F5 to Shane McMahon after the SummerSlam main event.
– Tyson Kidd has been out of action for more than one year with a neck injury and there’s been really no word on a possible return. Wife Natalya tweeted the following on his status when asked by a fan during RAW last night:
John Cena, Enzo and Cass vs. The Club and Becky Lynch vs. Natalya are now official for the 7/24 WWE Battleground PPV. The current card looks like this:
* WWE Title Triple Threat: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns
* John Cena, Enzo and Cass vs. AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson
– We don’t know why but Vince McMahon was not present for this week’s RAW and SmackDown TV tapings, which is rare. As noted earlier, Stephanie McMahon also missed this week as she was at the Cannes Lion Festival in Cannes, France.
– Earlier this week, Natalya vehemently denied reports that she is leaving WWE when her current deal expires. Natalya is signed to WWE for a significant period of time, so she won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
– When the WWE Brand Split news first broke, there was talk of keeping the WWE women’s division on just one brand. It appears WWE has changed their mind as word now is that the Women’s Champion and the division will be featured on both RAW and Smackdown when the split begins next month.
– MMA journalist Ariel Helwani says the latest plan for CM Punk’s UFC is for the fight to take place at UFC 203, scheduled for September 10th. However, the fight date is “far from a done deal.” In recent months, it was reported that Punk would likely debut at UFC 202, which takes place during SummerSlam weekend. Punk will [eventually] fight Welterweight Mickey Gall (2-0).
Current plan at the moment is CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall at UFC 203, per sources. Far from a done deal but that's the direction as of this AM.
Punk signed with UFC back in December 2014, shortly after his WWE departure and his controversial appearance on Colt Cabana’s Art of Wrestling podcast. His planned debut has been pushed back multiple times, most recently when he underwent back surgery in February to repair a herniated disc. UFC and Punk are still adamant that he’ll fight this year, but much of the excitement that surrounded his initial announcement has dissipated.
Visit our partner site MMANews.com for daily coverage of UFC and the world of Mixed Martial Arts.
– With Jerry Lawler serving an indefinite suspension from WWE as a result of his domestic assault arrest from last week, David Otunga filled in the the King at Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings.
– Nancy Benoit’s sister Sandra will be Chris Jericho’s guest on his Talk is Jericho podcast this coming Friday. The episode will focus on the Benoit family tragedy.
– Sunday at Money in the Bank, Natalya attacked her own tag team partner, Becky Lynch, following their loss to WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke. This was not WWE’s original plan.
Bryan Alvarez revealed Monday on Figure Four Daily that WWE had planned for Lynch to turn on Natalya. His claim was corroborated by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com on Tuesday.
The angle was followed up on Raw last night as Natalya ambushed Lynch backstage. “The Queen of Harts” explained that she’s worried about just one person: herself.
– Stephanie McMahon was not at Raw last night because she is in Cannes, France for the Cannes Lions festival. The festival kicked off over the weekend, and she will be joined by John Cena on Thursday to talk about how WWE “has kept audiences engaged the past 50 years.”
– NXT will be taping the next several weeks of television tonight from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. Join us here tonight around 6:30 PM EST for live spoilers. Based on Bobby Roode’s cameo at Takeover last night, don’t be surprised for him to make his NXT in-ring debut at the tapings.
– Natalya tweeted the following on Asuka and Nia Jax after last night’s Women’s Championship match at Takeover:
Natalya recently spoke with Brian Fritz of SportingNews.com to promote tonight’s WWE Extreme Rules PPV. Here are some highlights of what she said about:
Her Segment With Charlotte Closing RAW:
“It was shocking to find out. I got to the arena and then we were told that you guys are on last. We were like “oh my God.” Not only are we main-eventing Raw but we’re closing Raw. It was surreal. And it’s still surreal. I was on my drive last night from Greensboro to Greenville and I was just processing it all, taking it all in and going wow. I can’t believe I did that. Just being able to hold up that Women’s Championship and to think about wrestling for 15 years and after going through the highest of highs, the lowest of lows. Being in that ring with Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Ric Flair and Charlotte Flair. You have the McMahons, the Harts and the Flairs and it doesn’t get any bigger than that in wrestling when you think about wrestling hierarchy and royalty.”
How Difficult Her Last Year Was:
“Last year, 2015, was by far the hardest of my life. I was going through a lot personally. I had to take care of all that but I really wanted to be a part of the Divas Revolution because I had waited my whole career for something like that. I had waited my whole career to wrestle with girls like Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch and Charlotte. I wanted to be a part of that more than anything. Looking back on it now, I’m almost kind of glad that maybe it didn’t work out that way because sometimes better things are … Maybe if I had been a part of all that, I wouldn’t have been main-eventing Raw (Monday) night. It brought me to a level of clarity. Going through that hard time, I’m kind of sitting on the sidelines and having to handle the things that I was going through and then having to rise up and rise above all of it.”
She added that coming back from her broken ankle was a very difficult process but thankfully she’s in a much better place now and is relishing her role as a veteran in WWE’s thriving women’s division.
Natalya was Michael Cole’s guest for this week’s WWE.com interview. Here are some highlights:
– Natalya spoke about her role on Total Divas and is happy that it’s given people a chance to see how she is outside of the ring. The show is about being real, relatable and human.
– They spoke about her uncle Bret Hart being in her corner this weekend at Payback when she challenges Charlotte for the Women’s Championship. Cole asked how Bret is doing after his rough year battling prostate cancer. Natalya says Bret is a hero and an inspiration. He’s one of her best friends and it means means a lot to her that he will be supporting her at Payback.
– Regarding her opponent this Sunday, Natalya said Charlotte was somebody she respected after their memorable match at NXT Takeover, but Charlotte has changed. Charlotte acts entitled, as if she deserves everything. She was bothered by Charlotte’s recent statement that she’s accomplished more on the main roster than all of WWE’s other women combined. Cole hypes that Charlotte and Natalya will be appearing on Dean Ambrose’s Ambrose Asylum this Thursday on SmackDown. Natalya says the Charlotte’s ways disappoint her, but she plans to put Charlotte in her place. Payback will be her defining moment.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair told Natalya, “Kill yourself” during a heated promo at Tuesday night’s WWE SmackDown tapings. The incident took place when Dean Ambrose hosted Natalya, Charlotte and Flair on his Ambrose Asylum talk show segment to hype Sunday’s Women’s Championship match at Payback.
At one point, Natalya was talking about her uncle Bret being in her corner and told Flair that her uncle Bret will have no problem ‘handling’ him. Flair fired back with the “kill yourself” remark. Don’t be surprised if this edited off television when the show airs tomorrow night on USA.
