The Hardys Set Sights On NXT Tag Titles After Genesis Win

TNA Wrestling delivered with its Genesis 2025, which saw plenty of notable names appear from WWE NXT as part of a multi-year partnership. Nathan Frazer and Axiom were among those who ‘crossed the line’ and fans could soon see them share the ring with The Hardys.

During Genesis, it was announced that Fraxiom will defend their NXT Tag Team Titles against The Rascalz on Thursday’s live episode of TNA Impact. If Fraxiom retains their titles, The Hardys appear eager to step up as their next challengers. In an online promo, Matt Hardy shared that he and Jeff, already TNA’s World Tag Team Champions, are coming from Fraxiom.

“The Hardys, we are forever. Fraxiom, I noticed you were out there tonight. You’ve got a couple of titles too. We’d love to go on another expedition of gold. So maybe we’ll see you around.”

Throughout their storied career, The Hardys have captured numerous tag team championships across the pro wrestling world. Between WWE, TNA, and Ring of Honor, Matt and Jeff are 13-time World Tag Team Champions, in addition to holding titles from smaller promotions. Fraxiom are in their second reign as NXT Tag Team Champions, and their efforts with the gold earned the pair the ‘Tag Team Of the Year’ award during the recent NXT End Of Year Awards.

The Hardys are considered one of the greatest tag teams of all time, but the NXT Tag Team Titles remain a prize they have yet to claim. With both Matt and Jeff having discussed possibly wrestling in a WWE ring again as part of the TNA partnership, fans are excited to see the brothers potentially holding the NXT Tag Team Championships.

WWE NXT’s Cora Jade, Fraxiom & More Appear At TNA Genesis

In the days leading up to TNA Genesis 2025, it was teased that the show would see involvement from WWE NXT as part of a multi-year partnership between the two sides. This certainly proved to be the case with multiple names from the silver brand appearing in Garland, Texas.

Before the show, Arianna Grace served in her role as the offical liasion between WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling and brought out Ashante ‘Thee Adonis. The NXT Superstar issued an open challenge to the TNA roster, which was answered by Jake Something. Despite a valiant effort by Adonis, it was Something who got the win.

During the show, TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardyz put their titles on the line against The Rascalz. During the match, NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) arrived to get a better look at the action. Things turned ugly when The Rascalz attacked Fraxiom, but the match would end with Jeff Hardy getting the pin over Trey Miguel to retain.

In the brutal Clockwork Orange match, Masha Slamovich retained her TNA Knockouts World Championship against Rosemary. After the match, Cora Jade showed up and gestured that she wants a shot at the gold. Slamovich was featured in the crowd during the latest WWE NXT ahead of Jade’s match with Kelani Jordan, and traded some barbs on X with Jade after the match.

TNA’s multi-year partnership promises plenty of exciting crossovers with WWE, and that has already been the case. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on this partnership and to see who ever crosses the line.

TNA Stars Set Sights On WWE NXT Tag Titles After No Mercy Clash

WWE NXT No Mercy 2024 saw the gold brand’s tag team championships change hands as Chase U lost the gold to Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Now, the high-flyers once again hold the richest prize in NXT’s tag division, but the champions are already garnering interest from outside WWE.

NXT’s latest Premium Live Event also saw Zachary Wentz, fresh from his X-Division title win at TNA Emergence, defeated former ally Wes Lee. Speaking after the match, Wentz and Trey Miguel challenged Frazer and Axiom. While Wentz mentioned that he and Lee previously challenged the pair, he pointed out that Frazer and Axiom have never faced The Rascalz (Wentz & Miguel.)

WWE NXT’s camera crew also caught up with Frazer and Axiom after WWE NXT No Mercy 2024. Despite the pair having issues as of late, Frazer was thrilled that their differences were put aside for the show.

“We still maybe need to work on our communication a little bit a little bit, but put it this way, we’re kicking each other in the face, and we’re still the best tag team in the world. Let’s go celebrate.”

WWE NXT No Mercy 2024 saw more TNA involvement as Joe Hendry unsuccessfully challenged NXT Champion Ethan Page. The NXT-TNA partnership has proven to be very popular and if The Rascalz are to be believed, expect to see much more of this partnership this year.

Multiple Title Changes Shake Up WWE NXT On 8/13 Episode

The latest episode of WWE NXT saw the gold brand receive a dramatic shake-up with not one but two titles changing hands on the broadcast. The show marked NXT’s return to the USA Network after two weeks of hosting its Great American Bash special on SyFy.

WWE NXT Title Changes

In our opening contest of the night, Tony D’Angelo put his Heritage Cup on the line against Charlie Dempsey. This match was secured by Wren Sinclair, who earned the opportunity for the No Quarter Catch Crew last week with a victory over Kendal Grey (a victory that also earned her a spot in the faction.)

D’Angelo got the first pinfall of the contest in round two, but Dempsey fought back. Once again, Sinclair paid dividends for the NQCC as it was her interference, knocking D’Angelo off the top role that allowed Dempsey to get the decisive third pinfall of the match.

In our main event, the NXT Tag Team Championships were on the line as Nathan Frazer and Axiom defended against Andre Chase and Ridge Holland of Chase U. In the end, it was Holland who got the win for his team after planting Axiom with Northern Grit.

Chase U rushed the ring to celebrate with Chase and Holland as confetti filled the arena. This ends the title reign of Frazer and Axiom at 126 days. This is the second reign for Chase, who previously held the gold with Duke Hudson in a reign that lasted 21 days. This is Holland’s first NXT Tag Title reign and first taste of any WWE gold since joining the promotion in 2018.

WWE Speed: Superstars React Ahead of Tournament to Crown Inaugural Champion

The announcement that WWE Speed will feature its own champion has certainly gotten the Superstars of WWE talking.

WWE Speed was announced earlier this year and will stream exclusively on Twitter/X starting on April 3. This week, it was announced that the show will feature its own championship. The first champion will be crowned via a tournament though no names have been confirmed as of this time.

WWE Superstars React

The prospect of a new championship and becoming the inaugural WWE Speed Champion has proven to be enticing to the WWE roster. On Twitter, Noam Dar said there’s not much he can’t finish in the WWE Speed three-minute time limit.

Nathan Frazer said that his name being associated with the WWE Speed Championship just makes sense.

Cedric Alexander is ready to use his agility to his advantage as part of WWE Speed.

WWE Speed: Changes Made

WWE Speed will feature three-minute matches, meaning there’ll be no time for Superstars to waste in their pursuit of victory. There’s no word yet on what the new WWE Speed Championship will look like.

Matches for the new show were first filmed at the December 16, 2023, edition of WWE SmackDown. Corey Graves, who appeared in this week’s WWE Speed announcement video, was on commentary for these matches, as was Kevin Patrick. It’ll be interesting to see if the commentary is changed given Kevin Patrick’s release

Originally, the matches were given a five-minute time limit, but the video announcement this week said matches will last three minutes at max. It’s unclear if the matches filmed in December will be edited to fit the time limit.

Axiom & Nathan Frazer Impressing WWE Officials, Concern Other Stars Can’t Keep Up

Two of the young, rising Superstars of WWE NXT are impressing all the right people backstage with their work in the ring.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom have been drawing praise behind the scenes, Fightful Select reports. The duo have been praised for their agility and speed in matches. Some NXT officials are said to be concerned about Frazer’s opponents being able to keep up.

Nathan Frazer

Frazer joined WWE in December 2020 and would join the NXT UK brand the following month. In June of last year, he defeated Oro Mensash, who was wrestling on behalf of Noam Dar, to win the NXT Heritage Cup. His agility in the ring shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, given he was trained by Seth Rollins.

Axiom

Axiom, as A-Kid, signed with WWE in October 2019 and like his future tag-team partner, was assigned to the NXT UK brand. In October 2021, he challenged then NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov in a losing effort.

It was in July 2022 that A-Kid was repacked as Axiom. He is the inaugural NXT Heritage Cup winner and made his SmackDown debut last November in a loss to Dragon Lee.

What’s to Come?

On this week’s WWE NXT, Frazer and Axiom defeated the No Quarter Catch Crew (as represented by Myles Borne & Charlie Dempsey.) The win means that Frazer & Axiom have advanced to the Number 1 Contender Triple Threat Match.

They will face the Latino World Order (Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro) as well as The O.C. on next week’s WWE NXT. The winners of that match will earn a title shot against NXT Tag Team Champions Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker.

Another WWE Talent Suffers Injury

With all the injuries piling up, one would imagine the wrestling Gods are not pleased.

It seems promotions just can’t shake the injury bug. The among of injuries, and key ones at that, are seemingly at an all-time high.

AEW has been harder than anyone during this stretch but WWE has also had to deal with some brutal timing when it comes to injuries. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are out of commission for months due to injury.

One NXT superstar who has quickly been on the rise is now dealing with his own bump in the road.

Nathan Frazer Injured

Nathan Frazer has been on a roll on NXT. Many have been impressed by the Seth Rollins-trained standout on WWE’s developmental brand.

Unfortunately, he has suffered an injury and has been off the show as a result.

The good news is Frazer doesn’t expect to be out of action for long.

“Dealing with a little injury right now, I’ll be back before you know it.”

Nathan Frazer on injury

Frazer had been making a splash on the NXT UK brand before making the move over to NXT 2.0.

He challenged Carmelo Hayes for the NXT North American Championship at a live event on June 10, which may have been where he suffered the injury.
