Daniel Bryan Interview: Cena Heel Turn, Kurt Angle WWE Return, Funny CM Punk Story

WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan is currently in Dubai doing promotional appearances for the upcoming WWE 2K16 video game. Bryan was interviewed on 104.4 Virgin Radio Dubia this week and spoke about wanting John Cena to turn heel, the possibility of Kurt Angle returning to WWE, a funny CM Punk story and more. Here are some highlights:

– Bryan would love to see John Cena turn heel, noting that Hulk Hogan’s heel turn back in 1996 kicking off a new boom period for the industry.

– He put over New Day as “amazingly entertaining” heels. They’re currently his favorite act in WWE, while Cesaro is his favorite wrestler.

– Bryan would love to see Kurt Angle return to WWE for one final sendoff at WrestleMania and doesn’t know why WWE hasn’t been interested in bringing him back for a short run. He thinks Angle could have great matches against Seth Rollins or Roman Reigns.

– He told a funny story about working with CM Punk in Russia against the Wyatt Family. The Wyatts were beating down two babyfaces and Punk and Bryan ran down to make the save. Punk asked Bryan if he wanted to fight the Wyatts right then and there, setting up Bryan to respond, “YES!!” Bryan responded with an uninspired “yeah” and Punk told him, “you’re an idiot.”

Bryan also talked about if he expects to wrestle at WrestleMania 32, which heel he thinks would make a good babyface, never having a sip of alcohol in his life and more.

Xavier Woods Says Last Night Was One Of The Best Moments Of His Life

As seen last night on RAW, the Dudley Boyz made a surprise return to WWE and sent notice to The New Day that they’re coming for their newly won tag team championships.

Xavier Woods, who took a 3-D through a table at the hands of the Bubba Ray & D-Von, posted a message on Facebook explaining the magnitude of being part of such an incredible moment.

Woods wrote:

“If you’re not a wrestler this may be hard to understand,” Woods said.

“Tonight I took a 3D from the Dudley Boyz through a table in front of a sold out crowd in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center after I played trombone during our entrance and my boys sand our remake of Sinatra’s ‘New York, New York.’ This is honestly one of the best moments of my life.

ROH Star Says WWE Is Being Racist With Treatment Of The New Day Faction

Ring Of Honor wrestler Cedric Alexander recently spoke about the issue of racism in pro wrestling, citing WWE’s “New Day” faction as one of many examples he feels to be offensive and racist.

Regarding the WWE faction, Alexander said, “This opens up a whole different can of worms here, because everyone I know that watches WWE is offended by The New Day… extremely offended because of the whole racial thing.”

“It’s like, ‘oh we’re three black guys, we’ll sing, we’ll dance,” he continued. “You’ve got Kofi Kingston, who’s a phenomenal athlete, Big E Langston is a gigantic, threatening man and Xavier Woods is extremely intelligent. So why make them sing and dance when they obviously can be more… serious, I guess?”

Alexander concluded, “When they first started this thing, it was like two or three weeks that they did it where Xavier would come out and be like a Malcolm X type of thing. He was preaching black power without saying black power, which I think is fantastic because you don’t offend anyone. But when you’ve got three black guys singing and dancing, stereotypes get fed too much and I hate it.”
