NXT Preview: Takeover 31 Fallout, Ember Moon

Tonight’s edition of NXT will be the first episode to take place from the new Capitol Wrestling Center arena at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL.

Expect to see plenty of fallout from Sunday’s NXT Takeover 31 event. WWE is advertising the following:

  • Ember Moon will open the show after her surprise return at Takeover. Naturally, Moon has her sights set on NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai.

Kushida will face former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa. WWE.com notes that this match will be the first match of the night.

We will also get injury updates on Finn Balor, Kyle O’Reilly, Adam Cole and Velveteen Dream – all of whom sustained injuries at Takeover. WWE says Balor received a CAT scan and has potential facial fractures), while O’Reilly cracked some teeth, Velveteen Dream has fractured wrist, and Cole has broken ribs.

WWE NXT Preview: Matt Riddle vs. Roderick Strong, Triple H To Address TakeOver: Tampa

WWE will be presenting a different yet big episode of its weekly NXT television program. Thus, it’s time to look ahead starting with tonight’s episode of NXT.

The company is building up this show with an appearance by Triple H for two reasons. First, he’ll address the canceled NXT TakeOver: Tampa event and scheduled matches for that event being shown on upcoming episodes of NXT TV.

Also, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa will have to answer to him for their brawl at the Performance Center two weeks ago. 

In the likely main event, Matt Riddle vs. Roderick Strong is slated to take place. 

WWE holds this show in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center. WWE is advertising the following items for tonight’s broadcast:

  • Triple H to address the canceled NXT TakeOver: Tampa event

WWE NXT Preview: Two Championship Matches

WWE will be presenting a different yet big episode of its weekly NXT television program. Thus, it’s time to look ahead starting with tonight’s episode of NXT.

The company is building up this show around two title matches – North American Champion Keith Lee vs. Cameron Grime and The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish) vs. NXT Tag Team Champions The Broserweights (Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle).

WWE holds this show in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center. As usual, fans should expect more matches and segments to be revealed this afternoon for NXT. 

WWE is advertising the following items for tonight’s broadcast:

WWE NXT Preview: Steel Cage Matches, Tag Team Bout

The road to WrestleMania weekend is getting closer and that could play a factor in the latest NXT show. 

Thus, it’s time to look ahead starting with tonight’s episode of NXT. The company is building up this show around two Steel Cage matches.

First, we have Tegan Nox vs. Dakota Kai, which is a lengthy program WWE has been presenting on television that started back at TakeOver: WarGames III back in November. This will likely be the final match in the feud. 

In the likely main event, Roderick Strong vs. The Velveteen Dream will go down. This comes after their first match last week that served as the main event. 

WWE holds this show in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University. As usual, fans should expect more matches and segments to be revealed this afternoon for NXT. WWE is advertising the following items for tonight’s broadcast:

WWE NXT Preview: Two Championship Matches

WWE NXT is closing out the year with a bang. Thus, it’s time to look ahead starting with tonight’s episode of NXT. 

WWE is stacking this show as usual due to them being in a war with AEW (All Elite Wrestling) as NXT will be going head-to-head in the same time slot as AEW Dynamite on the TNT network. 

The company is building up this show around two title matches including NXT Champion Adam Cole vs. Finn Balor, which will open the show and it will be commercial-free.

In the likely main event, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Bazler vs. Rhea Ripley will take place.

NXT Preview: 2 Title Matches Confirmed for Tonight

NXT has a big episode this week, with both the tag team championships and NXT women’s championships on the line. The matches for tonight were taped on February 1st 2017 from Full Sail University.

NXT Women’s Championship Match
Asuka (c) vs. Peyton Royce

Royce earned the right to face Asuka by defeating Liv Morgan and Ember Moon in a 3-way match last week. Receiving a title match on NXT is a big achievement for the 24-year old Royce, who had mainly been used to put over other superstars until she began pairing up with Billie Kay in recent months.

As for Asuka she has defended the title successfully 4 times since defeating Bayley at NXT Takeover: Dallas over WrestleMania weekend last year

NXT Tag Team Championship Match
Authors of Pain (c) vs. DIY

The Authors of Pain defeated DIY for the titles over Royal Rumble weekend in San Antonio, but Gargano and Ciampa have a chance to win them back on tonight’s show. If this feud is going to continue, DIY will need a win here.

The following is a preview for tonight’s episode of NXT on the WWE Network:

Pete Dunne vs. Mark Andrews

  • The UK division gets more time on NXT programming.

NXT Champion Bobby Roode vs. No Way Jose (non-title)

  • Roode is not going to want to drop a non-title match as he builds towards an eventual rematch with Nakamura.
  • No Way Jose has been hovering around mid-card status for his entire NXT tenure, but a win over Roode could change that however.

NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contender’s Match
Peyton Royce vs. Ember Moon vs. Liv Morgan

  • Royce was the only of the 3 in this match to have also been in the fatal 4-way title match at Takeover: San Antonio. She has the momentum going into this match seeing as her and partner Billie Kay defeated Moon and Morgan in a tag match last week.
