Former Impact Wrestling Star Claims Someone From WWE Blocked Royal Rumble Appearance

ODB had a long and successful career in TNA/Impact Wrestling as she is a four-time Women’s Knockouts Champion and former Knockouts Tag Team Champion.

She has also worked in NWA and AEW in recent years before returning to Impact in 2021. These days, she is focused on her food truck business.

While speaking on The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Podcast, ODB was asked whether there’s anywhere she wants to work that she hasn’t already, including WWE. This is where she revealed that she got a call for the WWE Royal Rumble, though it didn’t pan out.

ODB Was Nearly in the Royal Rumble?

“I always wanted to go there. Maybe because you got the Rumble, you know. I did get a call for the Rumble, but it didn’t work out. But that would be cool. I always wanted to drive the food truck into the arena,” ODB said.

She was asked to elaborate. She also didn’t mention what year this would’ve been, but did note that someone high up in WWE blocked it from happening. She replied, “They wanted me, but of course, a person [in] upper… someone turned it down. But I did get a couple calls.”

ODB previously talked about how Triple H encouraged her to sign with TNA Wrestling. She named Awesome Kong, Gail Kim, and the Beautiful People as some of her favorite opponents in the promotion.

ODB Confirms She Is Returning To Impact Wrestling Soon

Former TNA knockouts champion ODB has confirmed that she is returning to the company now known as Impact Wrestling and bringing her food truck with her.

The female star recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet where she talked about her time with the company and confirmed the news of her return.

During the interview, ODB explained how despite the hard moments, she has never burned a bridge in wrestling before announcing that she will be getting back in the ring:

“I am actually getting back in the ring, so IMPACT obviously called me and that’s the cool thing about stuff, I’ve never burnt a bridge in wrestling.”

The former ROH star also talked about bringing her food truck to the company and said that driving ODB’s Meat and Greet truck into a stadium has been her ultimate goal:

“They were like ‘Hey, do you want to come back and see what happens? And possibly bring the food truck?’ So that’s my ultimate goal, to actually drive my ODB’s Meat and Greet into a stadium and kick some ass.”

ODB wrestled for Impact Wrestling from 2007 to 2014 and during the period, she won the knockouts championship on 4 different occasions. Since 2014, she has made sporadic appearances for the company.

Jim Ross And ODB Cooking Show In Development

As we reported previously, a Jim Ross cooking show is in the works.

On last week’s Jim Ross Report, JR revealed more details about the show, including the wrestling personality that he is paired with in the early stages of the venture.

Are you ready for Jim Ross and ODB?

“I had a business meeting a couple of weeks ago with Jessie Kresa, ODB. She’s got her food truck, and her whiskey sauce, all these great things. She’s a very ambitious entrepreneur,” Ross said.

“I thought she would be a good topic to talk about doing a reality show around. So I pitched that idea to my super-agent Barry Bloom,” continued Ross. “Barry pitched the idea, showed some digital stuff of ODB doing her thing.”

From there, Ross says, his super-agent went into business for him.

“For whatever reason, he showed the people some tape of me, I have no idea what it was or why, but they want both of us on this cooking show.”

Ross is clear to point out that the likelihood of this ever reaching television is, as he put it, “iffy.”

Still, JR added some details on the plot of the proposed Jim Ross and ODB show.

“If we do a pilot and it makes the cut, it’ll be around ODB’s food truck, and she and I cooking. We just have to map it out, then shoot the pilot, and see where it takes us,” said Ross.

“I can only imagine that interaction, that dichotomy, of two alpha males, so to speak.”

As to a potential timeline for the proposed cooking show, details are sketchy, says Ross.

“It may be something in 2019, it could be next year.”

“But there’s interest in that kind of an offbeat show.”

Would you watch a Jim Ross and ODB cooking show?

Ring Of Honor To Add Complete Women’s Division Soon?

Former TNA Knockout Taeler Hendrick took to social media on Wednesday to post what appears to be a tease for an upcoming women’s division in Ring Of Honor.

While ROH roster members Veda Scott, ODB and Maria Kanellis occassionally wrestle for the brand, they currently do not have an extensive, complete women’s division or title at this time.

TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship Deactivated?, Madison Rayne Rants On Miss Tessmacher

    – The TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship has apparently been deactivated as the the official website of Impact Wrestling is no longer listing the championship on its roster page.

Last week on Impact Wrestling, Knockouts division executive Brooke Hogan stripped ODB and Eric Young of the title due to Young’s male gender. There was no further announcement made concerning the belts.

The championship was created in 2009 due to the roster depth of the Knockouts division at the time. Sarita and Taylor Wilde became the inaugural champions in September of that year, besting Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky in the finals of a four-team tournament. The final champions, ODB and Young, held the titles for a record 478 days.

    – Madison Rayne “spills dirt” on Miss Tessmacher in this week’s “Knockout Blog” as she rants on the fellow former TNA Women’s Knockout Champion’s high-maintenance ways.

Rayne writes, “This week, you are going to get a little behind the scenes 411 on the one and only, the Knockout who is more high maintenance than anyone else on God’s green earth, Miss “ass-gusting” herself, Miss Tessmacher! I’m not quite sure where to even begin with this girl.

“The beauty of feuding with just about every Knockout in the locker room is that I’ve seen how they act on the road, I’ve seen the inside of their gear bags and this girl takes the cake when it comes to needy and finicky! For starters, everywhere she goes she packs a foam roller and a rolling pin?! The roller I can understand. We all get a little beat up from time to time and need a quick fix before the next match. But a rolling pin? I don’t even WANT TO KNOW! I also know that she wears the exact same under garments for every big match. I hope her pretty little brain can efficiently work a washer and dryer. Maybe she just buys stock in the same bra, socks and… never mind. Again, I don’t even WANT to know!

“One thing I do want to know though, is WHY I have caught her on more than one occasion warming up for a match by “booty popping” to Baby Got Back? Really? I need to sit some of these ladies down and give them a lesson on class and elegance! Not hyping themselves up to the lyrics “you can do side bends or sit ups, but please don’t lose that butt!” Thinking about all the things Tessmacher does that drives me insane is going to give me a wrinkle!”

Rayne also addresses Brooke Hogan, who she feels is making poor decisions as Knockouts division executive. To read her full column, click here.
