While Kurt Angle is the number one contender to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship (after defeating Jeff Jarrett at Slammiversary), Mike Tenay stated that Mr. Anderson’s first title defense will be against Sting.

    — Jacqueline returned to TNA Wrestling on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling as she joined ODB in assaulting Velvet Sky following her TNA Knockout Tag Team Championship Match against Sarita and Rosita. Jackie then said in a backstage segment that the Knockouts Division is a joke and she’s there to clean it up because wrestling matters to her.

Jacqueline was phased out of the Knockouts Division in late 2008 and ultimate released in July 2009. She has sporadically appeared at independent wrestling events since that time.

Meanwhile, Mike Tenay stated that ODB is not under contract to TNA (despite being listed on the company website’s roster page).

Three-time TNA Women’s Knockout Champion ODB answers her challenge, receiving a ‘thunderous reaction’ from the Impact! Zone audience.

The match concluded with ODB succumbing to Rayne via pinfall following the Rayne Drop.

ODB last appeared for TNA Wrestling in the spring. She officially parted ways with the organization in June. ODB said during an interview last summer that she left TNA due to unhappiness and to recharge her batteries.

  • 7 Wrestlers Removed From TNA Roster, Joe’s Return Announced

    — In addition to Homicide, it would appear that both Tomko and Rosie Lottalove have parted ways with TNA Wrestling as their respective profiles were removed from the company website’s roster page Thursday. All three were sparingly used in recent months.

    (partial source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

    — Unlike the case of Roxxi, there has been no strong reaction to ODB’s departure from TNA Wrestling. A number of people within the company felt bad for Roxxi because she showed up for work on the day of Slammiversary and hastily informed her services would no longer be required. Many feel the Knockouts division “has gone to hell” as Roxxi was one of the better in-ring performers they had left. On another note, there is said to be no interest on the company’s part in marketing women’s wrestling, sans pushing “The Beautiful People” and Angelina Love.

    — Jeff Hardy’s neck was bothering him following last weekend’s live events.

    — Recently departed TNA Knockout Roxxi is currently training to compete in the fitness competition at the NPC Jay Cutler Classic in Boston.

The situation seems to be looking better for Hardy.

Overall viewership was down nearly 22% compared to the previous week’s 1.34 million viewers. iMPACT! faced stiff competition from Game 1 of the NBA Finals as well as the season premiers of the USA Network original series Burn Notice and Royal Pains.

    – TNA Knockout ODB turned 32 years old on Sunday.

    — Angelina Love returned to the ring at this past week’s TNA live events after suffering a partial bicep tear and complete ulnar collateral ligament tear during a Triple Threat Match involving Madison Rayne and Tara during an iMPACT! taping in late April. TNA president Dixie Carter said of the returning Knockout on her Twitter account:

“Angelina Love is working her first house shows since her injury. She says she is feeling great. Welcome back!”

“Thank you for everyone’s support on my custody matter with my son! I have the best fans in the world! I have my beautiful son today and I’m talking to an attorney. Also I’ve worked out a better schedule with TNA. I’m lucky to have such a family oriented company that works with me! Love ya’ll!”

  • Heat On ODB Over Online Remark, Update On The Amazing Red

    — There is heat on ODB over a comment she made online last month disparaging the Knockouts division.

After watching the Apr. 12 episode of iMPACT!, she wrote on her Facebook account: “Just watched from my DVR the Knockouts match. Wow, WTF is happening to our division?” This was in reference to a teased ‘Leather & Lace’ match between Angelina Love and Velvet Sky.

  • Updates On Awesome Kong, ODB, Angelina Love, Sarita

    – Former TNA Knockout Awesome Kong is booked for several independent dates in Australia this summer under the name “Amazing Kong.” With those bookings in place, it seems unlikely that Kong would be able to join WWE until after the summer.

    – ODB told fans at a POWW Wrestling event held over the weekend that the reason she hasn’t been seen in TNA the past few weeks is due to a ruptured breast implant. According to reports, she had been working through the injury in order to hold off surgery following the Genesis pay-per-view back in January. She has since recovered as she worked the independent event, so her prolonged absence appears to now be a case of creative having nothing for her at this time.

    – Angelina Love will be hosting a “Gold Party” this Friday night in Washington D.C. at the Town Danceboutique alongside Tanisha of the Bad Girls Club and DJ Seth.

    – Sarita is currently in the midst of a wrestling tour of Japan as she worked Fuka’s retirement show at Korakuen Hall on Sunday and will be working a show this Saturday at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring.

    — Madison Rayne is auctioning off a garter wrestling outfit worn on iMPACT! last year at the following link. Bidding ends today.

  • Update On Joe Kidnapping Angle, Love’s Platform Boots, More

    — Fans shouldn’t be too dismayed by the storyline of Samoa Joe being abducted by a group of masked men from a parking lot two weeks on iMPACT! as the long-term plan is for this to lead to a renewed push for the multi-time TNA champion at some point.

    — Angelina Love is auctioning off a few ring worn items including platform boots worn on several episodes of iMPACT! as well as a beekeeper outfit. You can view the auctions at the following link.

  • Scott Hall Pushing TNA To Hire Sid, TNA Relaunching Website

    — TNA returnee Scott Hall is pushing company officials to hire his friend, Sid Eudy (a/k/a Sid Vicious).

The two apparently became real close friends in the past year as just before his return to the organization, Hall had been working on the independent circuit with the multi-time world champion. Furthermore, Sid’s son Gunnar made his wrestling debut alongside Hall this past summer in a tag match. There were also videos posted online of the duo “shooting” on the wrestling business.

It’s interesting to note that the TNA logo was recently posted on Sid’s MySpace page. (source: www.prowrestling.net)

    — TNA president Dixie Carter noted on her Twitter that TNAWrestling.com will be relaunched this weekend. This will be the website’s first major overhaul since 2005.

  • Russo’s Involvement With Hogan-Bischoff, ODB vs. Tara

    – A few people within TNA have been floating a story around that Vince Russo has no idea where things are headed and has not talked to Hulk Hogan or Eric Bischoff. This story is false, as Russo has had recent meetings with Hogan, Bischoff and Dixie Carter. Russo himself had been telling people he hadn’t met with anyone from Team Hogan and Hogan himself also was saying the same thing. This is all a complete work.

    – TNA knockout ODB won an eight woman tournament on New Year’s Eve to become the number one contender for the Knockouts Championship. She will challenge Tara for the title on the Monday’s 3-hour live Impact.

    – While Monday’s TNA iMPACT will be a live show, they will still tape TV on Tuesday night from Orlando. Those tapings will air on Thursday, January 14th.

  • TNA Talent Unhappy, Nash Contest Dropped, ODB’s New Deal

    — As seen last week on iMPACT!, TNA President Dixie Carter essentially said during her speech at the top of the hour that anyone who wasn’t on board with her recent changes to the organization should find work elsewhere. As it turns out, five wrestlers had asked for their releases from the company in recent weeks, including Frankie Kazarian (a.k.a. Suicide) and Homicide — we don’t have the names of the three other wrestlers. All five were turned down. (VIDEO: Dixie Carter’s Speech)

    — TNA has dropped Kevin Nash’s search for his first-ever female valet, the Big Sexy World Tour. The winner would have received an all-expenses-paid trip to next month’s Final Resolution pay-per-view in Orlando and accompanied Nash to the ring for his match that night.

    — As reported earlier, reigning TNA Women’s Knockout Champion ODB recently inked a multi-year deal with the organization. Her contract renewal with the organization actually came as a surprise to friends as she had been discussing jumping to World Wrestling Entertainment when her previous contract expired in mid-November. She had been telling people the past two months that she didn’t think management even realized her contract was coming due because no one had mentioned it to her.

  • Sting’s Future, Cornette On Hogan-Bischoff, ODB Re-signs

    — Sting is not expected to return to TNA action soon. Word going around is that he won’t return until several months into 2010.

    — TNA President Dixie Carter announced via her twitter account that Knockouts champion ODB has signed a “new multiyear deal” with the promotion.

    — Jim Cornette updated the Q&A section of his website with a long response to the question “What is your opinion of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff signing with TNA?” Cornette answered, “This whole thing reminds me of why I hate corporate wrestling. I must admit there are bright spots, like imagining Vince McMahon’s face and blood pressure when he heard the news, or hearing Hogan bitchslap Vince Russo by saying they’d be OK if “he stays in his place.” Can TNA make their minds up, LAST month everybody had to be “100% behind Russo’s creative direction” and THIS month they hire a guy who once SUED him for his lousy booking? They have reunited the same team that helped WCW lose more money than any wrestling promotion in history.” To continue reading, visit cornette’s official website.
