NFL Star Patrick Mahomes Expresses Interest In WWE, Triple H Opens The Door

At the age of 28-years-old, 3x SuperBowl MVP Patrick Mahomes has already secured his name in the NFL Hall of Fame. Now, the Quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs has expressed interest in possibly getting physical inside the squared circle; and WWE is happy to oblige. Mahomes expressed his interest to RAW Commentator, and part-time in-ring competitor Pat McAfee while on the former NFL punter’s program, The Pat McAfee Show. Mahomes and McAfee discussed the QB’s special appearance on the April 29th edition of Monday Night RAW. That night Mahomes was partially involved in an angle between United States Champion Logan Paul and Superstar Jey Uso.

During a conversation with McAfee, Mahomes expressed his enjoyment of his brief appearance on WWE TV. He mentioned his interest in stepping into the ring to showcase his skills. Additionally, he explained the reason behind assisting Logan Paul by giving him one of his Super Bowl rings to use as a weapon against Jey Uso.

”The WWE thing was awesome, that thing was sweet, I should’ve got in the ring and show my skills a little bit!”

I’ve seen enough to know that Jey Uso is good at getting out of those situations. When he does the yeet, that was intense man, I loved that. At the same time though, that’s my man Logan, I know he’s not the biggest fan favorite there in WWE, but I had to make sure to help him out a bit.

I was definitely scared of the big dude (Braun Strowman), he was a lot bigger than I expected…”

While Pat McAfee invited Mahomes to get inside the ring half-jokingly, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H was much more direct. Tweeting directly at Patrick Mahomes, and ensuring him that the door is always open for the Face of the NFL.

Could we see Patrick Mahomes headlining a WWE PLE event in the near future? Only time will tell. In 2020, Mahomes signed a 10-year, $450 million extension with the Chiefs, a deal that may make it challenging for Mahomes to compete inside a WWE ring. However, it would not be the first time a pro athlete became a focal point of a WWE program.

If WWE and Mahomes ever did strike a deal, the future NFL Hall of Famer could easily turn to Pat McAfee for advice. McAfee is no stranger to in-ring competition, having wrestled names like Adam Cole, The Miz, Baron Corbin, and Austin Theory since joining WWE in 2018.

Daily Drop (4/30): Reason Behind Patrick Mahomes’ 2024 WWE Draft Cameo, AEW Signs Top Free Agent

Welcome to the Daily Drop for Tuesday, April 30. This is the last day of the month before we spring into May, and there are a few big stories to cover this morning.

Before we get going, WWE finished up the 2024 Draft on RAW. There is a lot to unpack. Now only do we have new rosters, but there are also zero free agents this year.

This was Triple H’s first year calling all those shots as the final decision maker, and we saw a few notable NXT call-ups in the process including Carmelo Hayes, Blair Davenport, Ilja Dragunov, Dijak, and Kiana James. Nobody knew about their draft destinations, just like as in previous years, as they tried to capture organic reactions on camera.

Let’s get into the Daily Drop today!

WWE:

WWE NXT Card for 4/30:

  • Oba Femi (c) vs. Ivar – NXT North American Championship Match
  • Axiom & Nathan Frazer (c) vs. Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) – NXT Tag Team Championship Match
  • Natalya vs. Lola Vice – NXT Underground Match
  • Tyson Dupont & Tyriek Igwe vs. The O.C. (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) – Tag Team Match
  • Thea Hail vs. Jacy Jayne – Singles Match

Patrick Mahomes on WWE RAW: Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes showed up in Kansas City for RAW this week. He aligned himself with Logan Paul as a heel, and many thought this was a confusing decision for him in the city that he’s brought three Super Bowl rings. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that this appearance was not through WWE, but Logan Paul’s Prime company, so they needed to work together for the segment. In the end, Kansas City still loves their GOAT QB.

QR Codes: WWE fans got even more QR Code clues this week on RAW. Something is coming, and all signs point toward Uncle Howdy and a possible stable may follow. Stay tuned on this one, because that story could break out in the blink of an eye.

The Monster Returns: Braun Strowman was drafted to RAW as part of the 2024 WWE Draft. This marks his return after a year-long absence due to a neck surgery. He made his return later that night as he helped Jey Uso when he was about to take a shot with a fist full of Super Bowl rings. Strowman also had words with Patrick Mahomes, which was a fun and tense moment on the show.

Giulia Visa Issues: Although she signed with WWE, Giulia does not have her visa in place just yet. The former top STARDOM talent needs to get that in line before a WWE debut can properly go down. Giulia was around for WrestleMania 40 weekend, and she made an appearance in the crowd during Stand & Deliver on April 6. She could perform in Toronto for NXT Heatwave at the Scotiabank Arena on July 7, but she will need to get her visa issues sorted out before working in the U.S.A.

AEW:

Tony Khan On Weinstein Comment: Nobody will soon forget how Tony Khan said that WWE is the “Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling” while on the NFL Network. He doubled down on that comment by emphasizing how AEW is the better of the two companies.

Reason Behind Attack: Tony Khan’s beat-down at the hands of The Elite is still getting attention, especially thanks to the neck brace that TK was sporting all over afterward. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that “for sure” one of the big reasons behind that attack was to give Khan a reason to sport a neck brace on television during the 2024 NFL Draft so he could gain attention for AEW.

Adam Copeland on Metalingus: While speaking on AEW Unrestricted, the WWE Hall of Famer noted how his entrance music took on a life of its own in AEW, which he really thought was cool, especially that fans knew the lyrics to his song.

“It’s taken on a life of its own which is so cool. It’s so fun to have it be that interactive, I guess, and for me to connect with something and it feels like people over the years have really kind of actually paid attention to the lyrics and went, ‘Oh! Oh wow!’”

Kamille Is All Elite: After expressing interest in WWE, Kamille signed with AEW. She made a comment on social media that a deal has been signed since February, and that led to a report that she inked a deal with Tony Khan and is expected to debut soon. Kamille, who helped Billy Corgan’s NWA as their Women’s Champion for the longest time, could be a big addition for the women’s roster.

Max Caster Has No Regrets: Caster was suspended from AEW in 2021 when he took a dig at Simone Biles’ decision to step out of competition due to her mental health. Looking back as he spoke to Isiah Kassidy’s YouTube channel.

“I don’t know if I regret it. That kind of helped my career, more than anything, believe it or not. Again, right or wrong, helped The Acclaimed, and it helped me a lot, and it gave me a reputation, and one that I like to live up [laughs].”

Upcoming PPV’s and PLE’s:

Here are the upcoming major wrestling events

  • Sunday, May 26: NXT Battleground (PLE)
  • Sunday, May 26: AEW Double or Nothing (PPV)

Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes Appears Alongside Logan Paul On WWE RAW

Monday’s April 29 episode of WWE Raw from Kansas City kicked off with some serious star power. United States Champion Logan Paul showed up in a Rolls Royce and had a special guest in with him: NFL Super Bowl champion quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes and Logan Paul were enjoying themselves backstage at Raw with their hardware:

Triple H also welcomed the Super Bowl champ to the show:

28-year-old Patrick Mahomes is considered one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks ever. He’s won the Super Bowl three times, including this year’s and he was the MVP for two of those victories. His performance has also earned him the NFL Most Valuable Player award twice, in 2018 and 2022.

Mahomes also released a special edition of Logan Paul’s Prime drink. It dropped just in time for Super Bowl LVIII and featured Kansas City Chiefs colors.

Patrick Mahomes got involved in the action later on, in a manner of speaking. During Logan Paul’s time in the ring, Jey Uso came down to confront him, and that is when Finn Balor and JD McDonagh surrounded him.

After Uso was taken down, Mahomes gave Logan a few of his Super Bowl rings to use on his fist against Uce. This didn’t work out as he planned, because Uso ducked and JD took the brunt of the punch.

Braun Strowman made his big return to WWE RAW, as he was drafted in the previous round. After the Monster of all Monsters chased off Judgment Day, he had some words with Mahomes for helping the United States Champion in his heel tactics.

Patrick Mahomes & Kansas City Chiefs Celebrate With WWE Championship After Super Bowl Win

The Kansas City Chiefs sit at the “Head of the Table” once again and Patrick Mahomes had the appropriate hardware to celebrate.

The Chiefs have become the first NFL team in 20 years to win Super Bowl Championships back-to-back after a thrilling overtime victory against a scrappy San Francisco 49ers team in Las Vegas 25 to 22.

After being handed his third Lombardi Trophy, 2023 Super Bowl MVP. Patrick Mahomes set that aside to hold a special customized WWE Championship with Chiefs sideplates on it. However, Mahomes is the consummate team player as he gave the gold to a celebrating teammate.

WWE & AEW At The Super Bowl

Several wrestling stars were on hand to witness the big game go down, including Rey Mysterio, Mercedes Mone, Bayley, Naomi, Jimmy Uso, AEW star Britt Baker and more.

WWE also is capitalizing on the Super Bowl victory with a new version of the WWE Title that is Super Bowl themed which is now available for a significant sum of change at $549.00. The description of the hardware is below:

“Throughout an exhilarating season, the Kansas City Chiefs executed all the right plays to take home the title of Super Bowl LVIII Champions! Celebrate this crowning achievement by grabbing this WWE Legacy Title Belt. With striking SBLVIII graphics, this commemorative gear is exactly what you need to honor your Kansas City Chiefs emerging victorious in the league.”

Logan Paul Trades WWE US Title For Patrick Mahomes’ Super Bowl Ring

Logan Paul is used to capturing attention, and he is apparently not bad at making a deal, either. The Maverick recently had a run-in with Patrick Mahomes, and it resulted in an interesting interaction.

Logan Paul Makes A Trade For WWE US Title

Logan Paul defied many expectations with his athletic ability in WWE. The United States Championship holds his title proudly, but he’s not 100% attached to it.

Logan Paul and Patrick Mahomes recently made a deal. Paul wanted to trade his title for the NFL player’s Super Bowl ring. Mahomes wasn’t down, until Paul included a Lemonade Prime as a kicker.

Logan Paul Outside WWE

Logan Paul is creating ripples, both inside and outside the ring. His controversial antics, like showering with the championship belt, brought mixed reactions. Regardless of the controversy, he seems to really enjoy his time as the reigning champion.

Beyond wrestling, Logan Paul is a business partner with KSI, co-founding the popular Prime energy drink brand. Thankfully, he had some Lemonade Prime handy to help close that trade with Patrick Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes has two Super Bowl rings, as he won with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 and 2023, so he could apparently part with one of them. Logan Paul is set to battle Kevin Owens with the United States Title on the line at the Royal Rumble on January 27th. Hopefully, Mahomes will let Paul have his US Title back for the Tropicana Field event.
