WWE Polling Fans On The Undertaker vs. Sting, Paul Burchill Profiled, Raws Added To Network

– The front page of WWE.com currently features a poll asking fans who win a match between The Undertaker and Sting. With over 46,000 votes cast thus far, The Deadman is leading the poll 64% to 36%.

– Paul Burchill, who competed for WWE from 2005 to 2010, is featured in latest edition of “Where Are They Now?” on WWE.com.

While planning life after WWE, Burchill says the thought of continuing to wrestle barely crossed his mind.

“Having wrestled with the best in the world, I got my fix,” Burchill told WWE.com. “I didn’t want people to remember me as the wrestler. I needed to do a little less for myself and a little more for others.”

Today, Burchill works as a firefighter-paramedic with the Jeffersontown, Kentucky, fire department, in addition to being a member of the Jeffersontown police department’s SWAT team and a paramedic with Yellow EMS in Louisville. He is also looking to become a registered nurse, with a goal of attending graduate school to earn a master’s degree and become a family nurse practitioner. To read the full article, click here.

Update On WWE Paying For Scholarships, Top 10 WWE Power Struggles (Video)

– In addition to former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis, WWE gave out two other $5,000 education scholarships to former talent. One was for Michael Thompson, a guy who left WWE on his own to join the military. The other went to former WWE Superstar Paul Burchill.

    Earlier this week, we reported that Chris Jericho is telling friends and former colleagues that he’s in talks with WWE officials about returning to the organization in time to set up a match at next year’s WrestleMania 28.

    WWE’s first-ever Undisputed champion has acknowledged the report – and wrote the following on Twitter on Thursday night:

    “After discussing this with my colleagues,my response to today’s rumor is: a) false b) true c) maybe d) all of the above e) none of the above”

    Several weeks ago, we heard from a reliable WWE source that a Chris Jericho vs. The Miz match is being discussed for WrestleMania .. There’s no doubt WWE could use as much star power as they can get headed into WrestleMania – and with Jericho reportedly interested in returning to WWE at some point – a WrestleMania showdown with The Miz sounds pretty damn good to us.

    Former WWE Stars Free To Join TNA, Trish Stratus Lands Cover

    — Former WWE stars Maria Kanellis, Gregory Helms, Paul Burchill and Charlie Haas are free to join TNA Wrestling as their respective 90-day no-compete clauses with World Wrestling Entertainment have expired. The clause prohibits released talent from immediately joining TNA, though they’re free to start with any independent promotion.

    Kanellis, Helms and Burchill were released on Feb. 26 while Haas was released two days later.

    — Though long removed from the wrestling industry, former WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus is featured on the cover of the latest issue of The Wrestler. The headline reads “Trish Stratus Reveals All!” with the synopsis noting the possibility of a comeback to the business. You can view the cover here.

    — In today’s wrestling birthdays, former WWE performer Kamala turns 60 years old while Ring of Honor World Champion Tyler Black turns 24.

    Mickie Returning This Week?, Ex-WWE Stars In Dublin, More

    — It appears Mickie James will be appearing on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown as she noted arriving to England yesterday on her Twitter account. The multi-time women’s champion has been confined to the sidelines in recent weeks due to being diagnosed with a staph infection on her right knee.

    — A number of former WWE Superstars and Divas will be taking part in a convention taking place this November in Dublin, Ireland including Mick Foley, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, The Honky Tonk Man, Candice Michelle, Lilian Garcia, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, Rick Martel, Tito Santana, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, The Genius and Virgil.     Melina Injury Update, Backstage Reaction To Burchill’s Release

    — Melina has begun tweeting and noted that she is four months away from being able to return to the ring from the ACL tear she suffered in late December. This would put her on schedule for a July comeback.

    — Paul Burchill’s untimely release from WWE ten days ago led to much head shaking within the company as he’s a respected in-ring performer and not considered trouble in the locker room, reports the Pro Wrestling Torch. Burchill has told friends he plans on continuing wrestling. The timing of his release is especially rough as friends say he and his wife are expecting a child later this year.

    Has Katie Been Moved To Raw?, WWE Wrongly Advertises Match

    — As seen this past Monday night on Raw, Katie Lea Burchill, who, along with her brother Paul, had been banished from ECW, made her return to the brand. While her profile has yet to be added to the Raw Superstars page on WWE.com, the results section identifies her as a “new Raw recruit.”

    — As reported yesterday, it was noted that Christian was advertised to face Zack Ryder on this week’s episode of WWE Superstars. This is incorrect as a match where he goes up against William Regal will air on tonight’s show instead. The WWE website briefly advertised a bout between the ECW Champion and Ryder before issuing a correction.

    Other matches scheduled to take place on tonight’s show include: Gail Kim and Primo vs. Jillian and Chavo Guerrero, Jimmy Wang Yang and Slam Master J vs. Mike Knox and Chavo Guerrero, and Carlito vs. Chris Masters (with Eve).

    — The 2010 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony pre-sale kicked off today at noon Eastern on LiveNation.com.
