Eric Bischoff Appearing at MLW One-Shot On December 5

Eric Bischoff is heading to Major League Wrestling’s upcoming event from New York City on December 5, MLW One Shot.

Bischoff’s latest guest on his 83 Weeks podcast is Paul Walter Hauser, as the accomplished actor who has been heavily involved with MLW over the past few months. During their discussion, Hauser turned the tables on Bischoff, asking him if he ever gets the itch to get back in the business. Bischoff said that the feeling comes and goes, but he does particularly enjoy working in a backstage role and in the production realm of the business.

Hauser noted that he has MLW CEO Court Bauer in his phonebook and decided to call him on the spot. Bauer picked up, Hauser caught him up to speed and asked if he’d be open to working with the outspoken former wrestling executive.

“Without hesitation, the answer is absolutely yes. Dude, ERic going to enemy Territory in one place where he’s never promoted a show, new york city, for one night, calling the shots. That to me sounds like money.”

MLW President Court Bauer open to working with Eric Bischoff

Bauer then made the pitch for Bischoff to attend MLW One-Shot on December 5. Hauser, playing the facilitator, made clear he’d get the two in a group text to hammer out the details. On Thrusday afternoon, MLW confirmed Bischoff will be on hand.

The event is now being billed as, Eric Bischoff’s One-Shot: An Eric Bischoff Production. Tickets are now on sale at Eventbrite.

Both Tony Schiavone and Bruce Prichard worked for MLW both in production and commentary years back right as their podcasts began taking fire courtesy of Conrad Thompson. Bischoff has previously said he wouldn’t get involved with AEW, stating that the environment wouldn’t be fun for him.

Paul Walter Hauser Returning To MLW, Issues Warning To JBL

WWE Hall of Famer John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield has been making his presence felt in the wrestling world as of late with appearances in TNA, GCW, AAA, and beyond. Recently, the self-professed ‘Wrestling God’ arrived in MLW to assist Brock Anderson and has caught the attention of Emmy Award-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser.

On the latest MLW Pit-Fighters, Hauser made clear he has no love for JBL, who he said “came back from the dead.” He added that Layfield has no place in MLW, stating that “I know he’s one of the boys, but he’s not one of our boys.”

Hauser, perhaps best known for his role in Blackbird, confirmed that he will return to MLW in Chicago later this year and had a stark warning for the former WWE Champion.

“If JBL sticks his nose or his clothesline into my business, I will knock his ancient ass to the ground. And when he wakes up, he’ll think he’s back in Connecticut wearing a cowboy hat with his boss’ ass on his breath. So stay clear, Temu Stan Hanson.”

JBL, who is still under a WWE Legends contract, has explained his recent resurgence, stating he didn’t want his ill-fated alliance with Baron Corbin to be the end of his pro wrestling legacy. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on the WWE Hall of Famer as he continues to capture the attention of fans with his appearances outside WWE.

Paul Walter Hauser’s pro wrestling career

Paul Walter Hauser gained attention of the fans across the globe with his performances in popular TV roles. He has also been a part of several movies and series including “Inside Out 2” and “Cobra Kai” and even bagged a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award.

The Golden Globe winner transitioned into a pro wrestler after having a successful acting career. He made his pro wrestling debut last year. Hauser has made a handful of appearances at wrestling shows. He also appeared on an edition of AEW Dynamite where Jeff Jarrett and co. stole his Golden Globe Award.

Hauser has competed in seven matches in his pro wrestling career. Apart from MLW, the 37-year-old star has worked in Pro Wrestling Revolver, where he had the majority of his bouts. His recent match took place against Danhausen at REVOLVER Cage of Horrors 3 on June 22.

Popular wrestler and MLW alum Paul London has been helping Hauser with pro wrestling training and it seems Hauser is not stopping anytime soon.

Paul Walter Hauser In Talks To Portray Wrestling Legend Mick Foley

Actor Paul Walter Hauser is excited at the prospect of playing Mick Foley and is ‘literally talking to him right now’ about turning this dream into reality.

Hauser is no stranger pro wrestling himself. He’s graced the squared circle on several occasions and boasts a record of 3-0. Many of his matches are hardcore in nature, involving weapons and violent stunts. During an interview with Mike Roe for The Wrap, Hauser reveals that he’s trying to secure a role that is near and dear to his heart.

“I’m literally talking to Mick Foley right now about the potential of playing him in a movie or limited series,” Hauser tells The Wrap.

“I don’t know which and I don’t know how, but he and I have become friendly, and I think he knows that that could be a really great stroke of genius in casting me to play him.”

Hauser shares that he’s received offers to play wrestlers before. While he’s excited to work on a Mick Foley project, he won’t just sign on to play a wrestler because he likes the sport. He takes his work very seriously and takes pride in selecting roles that truly resonate with him and stories that he wants to share.

“If TNA or AEW or MLW wanted to sign me, I would literally take that into consideration to be part of a contracted role somewhere,” Paul Walter Hauser to The Wrap.

Hauser says that Mick Foley doesn’t look like the typical ‘bodybuilder wrestler, which works in his favor. He joked that his own body type is more similar to stockier wrestlers like Foley and the late Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart.

In an industry overflowing with larger-than-life personalities, Mick Foley’s life story remains among the most captivating. There’s a reason his life story is a New York Times best-seller, which would make getting a project like this greenlit a lot easier.

Hauser keeps a busy career in Hollywood, but he always makes time for wrestling and tries to blend those worlds whenever he can. Earlier this year, he brought pro wrestling to the Emmy Awards by name dropping the nWo, the Dudley Boyz and more during his acceptance speech.

Paul Walter Hauser returns to the ring when he competes in the 40-person MLW Battle Riot event on Saturday, June 1 from Atlanta, GA.

Actor Paul Walter Hauser Enters MLW Battle Riot VI

Paul Walter Hauser will continue his pro wrestling career under the MLW banner.

Major League Wrestling announced via press release on their website that the famed actor will be entering Battle Riot VI on June 1 in Atlanta, GA. The Battle Riot is a 40-person Royal Rumble style fight where competitors can also be eliminated via pinfall or submission.

Hauser expressed his enthusiasm for entering the match, noting that he indeed has his eyes on the golden ticket to face MLW World Heavyweight Champion, Satoshi Kojima.

“While some could misconstrue this to be an actor making a cameo in wrestling, or a fan checking off some bucket list or wish fulfillment – don’t get it twisted. I am entering to prove myself worthy of a spot in the world of wrestling, as well as a shot at Satoshi Kojima’s World Heavyweight Title.”

MLW CEO Court Bauer stated how unique of an opportunity the match is for Hauser and how admirable his venture from the screen to the squared circle has been.

“Paul is building something special with a two-track career driven by his passion and an unrelenting quality that separates the pretenders from the contenders,” said MLW Founder and CEO Court Bauer. “I don’t think there is anything Paul wants more than to put MLW gold next to his Golden Globe and EMMY. Now he will get his chance of making that happen at MLW Battle Riot VI.”

Hauser has been an active wrestler in 2024 as he happened to put Matt Cardona through a flaming table back in March and actually defeated Sami Callihan at the WrestleCon Super Show during WrestleMania weekend in Philadelphia.

Paul Walter Hauser Beats Sami Callihan at WrestleCon Supershow, The Sandman Appears

Emmy Award winner Paul Walter Hauser has another wrestling win to his name after defeating Sami Callihan at WrestleCon’s Supershow, albeit with some extreme help.

The match took place at the WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow on April 4 and was an ode to hardcore wrestling. Chairs, kendo sticks, and doors were used as weapons, and ECW alum Bill ‘Fonzie’ Alfonso also got involved.

Near the end of the match, Callihan was in control and it appeared that he’d be the first man to defeat Hauser in the ring. That was until the lights went down and “Enter Sandman” played, signifying the arrival of The Sandman. Inside the ECW Arena, Sandman helped Hauser get the win over Callihan.

Paul Walter Hauser in Wrestling

Hauser, best known for his roles in Black Bird, I, Tonya, and Cruella, is now 3-0 in the world of professional wrestling. The actor made his wrestling debut at Wrestling Revolver’s UnReal event in November 2023 with a win over Matthew Palmer. He followed up on that by defeating Matt Cardona at Revolver’s Ready or Not event in March 2024.

Hauser has hardly kept his love of professional wrestling a secret even when not in the ring. At the 75th annual Emmy Awards, Hauser took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his role as Larry Hall in Apple TV+’s Black Bird. His acceptance speech included several name-drops and references from the world of pro wrestling, including Matt Cardona and ‘get the tables!’

Matt Cardona Explains Why He Took A Flaming Table Spot From Paul Walter Hauser

Pro wrestling has seen many celebrities step in to the ring for one reason or another. Those extra eyeballs on the pro wrestling world are always appreciated.

Matt Cardona knows what draws business, as the former Zack Ryder spent years in WWE. He is still going strong on the indies, and a recent run-in with Paul Walter Hauser also backed up his support of involving celebrities in the pro wrestling business. He even took a flaming table spot to prove his point.

Matt Cardona on Celebrities in Pro Wrestling

During a recent Pro Wrestling Revolver event, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray and actor Paul Walter Hauser (Cobra Kai, Cruella) joined forces against Matt Cardona to create a viral moment by sending him through a flaming table.

While speaking to Detroit News, Matt Cardona said of Paul Walter Hauser, “We were on better terms before he put me through a flaming table.”

Cardona also expressed his appreciation for mainstream personalities like Hauser joining the wrestling scene, citing the attention and spotlight they attract. Anything that brings that engagement is okay for the Broski.

“It brings more eyeballs to pro wrestling and it brings more eyeballs to me, and win, lose or draw, I’m all about the attention.”

Matt Cardona is set to appear in Detroit on 3/23 for Game Changer Wrestling’s Role Model event, where he is set to take on AEW star Danhausen. Cardona wants another match against Paul Walter Hauser, and he’s eyeing a showdown in July.

Paul Walter Hauser in Pro Wrestling

Hauser is a lifelong pro wrestling fan. He once said that it is his dream to star in a film based on the Four Horsemen, where he wants to play Arn Anderson. He’s not finished in the ring, either. His next match is set for April 4 in Philadelphia against Sami Callihan in a Philadelphia Street Fight.

The upcoming Paul Walter Hauser action figures are available for pre-order on March 31st, and you may find more information here.
