Brett Lauderdale Reacts To PCO Destroying TNA Title At His Show

GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale is unsure of what to make of the PCO incident.

The 57-year-old wrestling veteran made headlines over the weekend with his appearance at the People vs. GCW event. PCO who was the reigning TNA Digital Media champion brought the belt with him at the show and destroyed it in front of the public using a sledgehammer. At first, people thought that it was part of a storyline but multiple reports since then have claimed that TNA officials had no knowledge of it beforehand.

Lauderdale talked about the incident on the Game Changer Weekly podcast and mentioned that PCO is a longtime friend of his who he has a lot of respect for. Discussing his knowledge of the incident in question, he claimed that he was under the impression of the whole thing being a work:

“What happened and what I thought was gonna happen were slightly two different things, and I thought we were kind of doing him a favor by letting him advance a storyline and returning to GCW at the same time, so I only kind of realized that it was more than that after the fact when I started reading reports that he may or may not have done that on his own.”

I Think There Is A Storyline Going On: Brett Lauderdale

PCO was one of the many names who had his TNA deal expire at the end of last year and per reports, he was supposed to finish up with the company at their next taping. After the incident, however, TNA has removed both PCO and the Digital media title from their website, and the former WCW star is not expected to be brought back for any more shows.

Though despite these claims, Brett Lauderdale is not entirely sure of the legitimacy of the whole thing and he still believes that it could be a work:

“No. I know a lot of the people at TNA, so I feel like I would have been contacted if there was any major issue that would have been on us or if they had questions about it.

That’s why I think maybe there is still a storyline going on with it because I feel like maybe if there wasn’t, after the fact, they would have said, ‘Hey, what happened?’

TNA is set to follow up the January 19 Genesis PPV with a live Impact taping from San Antonio, TX this Thursday, January 23. Whether or not the whole thing is really a work should become clearer after this show.

PCO Speaks After Destroying TNA Championship on GCW PPV

PCO had been a member of the TNA Wrestling roster for years, which is why his actions at The People vs. GCW event shocked fans. After destroying the TNA Digital Media Championship at GCW’s latest event, PCO has now addressed his surprising actions.

On X, PCO alluded to a state of victimhood, claiming that “People don’t care for victims, they care for the ones who stand up and Monsters their way through.” In a follow-up post, PCO shared his respect for many in TNA, while making it clear that he was less impressed with the company’s new management. He credited Scott D’Amore as the “architect” of TNA and advised people to gather all the facts before passing judgment.

Sources within GCW told Fightful that PCO “went into business for himself,” leaving those in TNA Wrestling shocked. PCO was reportedly set to finish with TNA at the upcoming tapings in San Antonio, though as things stand, he is not expected back.

As PCO moves forward, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him in professional wrestling. Whatever’s to come, PCO’s time with TNA Wrestling reached a violent end this week with the destruction of the Digital Media Championship.

PCO Destroys TNA Digital Media Title At The People Vs. GCW

PCO made his views on TNA and the promotion’s Digital Media Championship very clear in an appearance this week for GCW. At The People Vs. GCW, PCO, destroyed the title and spoke about selling out the biggest house in TNA history. The show cut to a break during PCO’s comments, and when the event returned, the veteran had left the ring. This segment took place just as TNA began the main card of their Genesis pay-per-view event.

PCO had held the Digital Media Championship since Slammiversary, where he defeated AJ Francis for the gold. The Canadian veteran had been a part of TNA since 2022. Previously, he had been with Ring of Honor but parted in late 2021 prior to Tony Khan’s purchase of the promotion.

This destruction of the title was not part of a storyline, PW Insider reports, but instead PCO airing his genuine frustrations at TNA Wrestling. TNA has yet to address the situation and PCO himself has not commented on what the future of his promotion will look like. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on this developing situation.

Overall Thoughts on Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow

The Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow delivered a great wrestling show. The event did have some audio issues and spoiled a surprise appearance by Bret Hart at the start of the show. In the main event, Homicide and Low Ki confronted a fan for being disrespectful. The incident went on for almost 5 minutes before the match started. However, it may not hurt a fan’s overall enjoyment of the event.

Bandido vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey set the tone for the event and could be considered the best match on the card. However, the rest of the card also delivered exciting and fun matches. Yim looked in great shape and seemed happy to be wrestling again in her return. The show may be worth watching for $14.99 on VOD for fans who didn’t see the event live.

PCO Signs With Impact Wresting

PCO is no longer a free agent.

TVASports Pat Laprade reports that PCO has signed a deal with Impact Wrestling. The deal will also allow PCO to wrestle for independent promotions. However, Laprade emphasized that the new signee must prioritize the Impact Wrestling dates. It’s unclear how many years his deal is will be with the company.

“As mentioned on “Les Anti-Pods de la Lutte” podcast, following his appearance at Hard to Kill last Saturday, I have learned that PCO has signed a contract with Impact Wrestling. The contract allows him to work on the indies, but he’ll have to prioritize Impact’s dates,” said Laprade.

IMPACT Invasion

ROH Invading Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling’s Hard to Kill event saw the surprise angle of former Ring of Honor wrestlers invade the show. Former ROH talent PCO, Matt Taven, Vincent, Mike Bennett, and his wife Maria attacked Impact Wrestlers during the event. However, PCO is the only wrestler signed to Impact Wrestling, and it’s unclear if the company is interested in signing other ROH talent on their roster.

ROH New Business Model

ROH has released its talent and is planning to change its business model. Instead of signing talent to a roster, the company plans to book talent like other independent promotions. While unfortunate for ROH, it has created opportunities for wrestling promotions like Impact Wrestling to work with former ROH talent like PCO. Impact Wrestling also had ROH World Champion Johnathan Gresham defend the title against Chris Sabin at Hard to Kill.

PCO signing with Impact Wrestling could begin the company plan to look for more former ROH talent. Wrestling fans should also look out if WWE, All Elite Wrestling, and New Japan Pro Wrestling compete with Impact Wrestling to sign ROH free agents.

PCO Responds To Reports Of Him Leaving ROH

PCO has given his response to reports that he’s expected to leave ROH soon.

A report from Wrestling Observer Radio claimed that PCO’s contract with ROH is up at the end of November. The report also notes that the former ROH World Champion gave the company notice that he will not be signing a new deal.

During an appearance on Sean Waltman’s Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast, PCO revealed whether or not he will become a free agent before 2021 comes to a close.

“On December 1st, that would be my third year with Ring of Honor. It will be 3 full years, and 3 great years. I have been treated really super good. They are great people over there, but coming December 1st, I will be a free agent. It will be interesting to see where everything is going, either with Ring of Honor or wherever.

The indies could be a great place to start things up. There’s not a day that I’m not getting hit by someone for shows, if not a couple of shows. I’m under an exclusive contract right now. I’m fully Ring of Honor. I couldn’t take any work for the last 3 years for any indie companies other than the ones that we were doing business with which were New Japan Pro Wrestling, or at that time it was CMLL, and that got broken, and the PWG, but I don’t know where we stand with them right now.”

PCO was seen in action in the Honor Rumble at the Death Before Dishonor PPV. That match ended up being won by Alex Zayne. PCO has been with ROH since 2018. He captured the world title back in Dec. 2019 and held onto the gold for 78 days.

PCO Not Expected To Re-Sign With ROH

Pierre Carl-Oulette (PCO) is not expected to re-sign with Ring of Honor when his contract expires on November 30th, 2021. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer, he has given the company his notice and will be departing later this year.

PCO has been with the company since 2018. His last match was the Honor Rumble at last night’s Death Before Dishonor PPV from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. ROH also has television tapings today and tomorrow from Philadelphia that PCO is expected to take part in as well.

PCO is a former ROH World Champion, 1x 6-man tag-team champion along with Brody King and Marty Scurll, and also a former ROH tag team champion along with Brody King. Additionally, PCO and Brody King won the NWA’s Crockett Cup in 2019 along with the promotion’s tag-team titles.

Along with Jacques Rougeau, Oulette is a former 3x WWE tag team champion as 1/2 of the Quebecers. He’s also a former WCW Hardcore Champion.

Last night’s ROH PPV may be the last live show the company runs this year. They are, however, scheduled to film television today and tomorrow from the 2300 Arena. There are further tapings scheduled in Baltimore for November. The promotion is said to be taking things on a week-to-week basis concerning live crowds and the possibility of running another live event later this year.

PCO Confirms Expiry Date Of His Current ROH Contract

Wrestling veteran PCO has become one of the top stars for ROH since joining the company in 2018 and he has won multiple titles in the company including the promotion’s world title in 2019.

The former world champion recently had an interview with WrestleZone where he talked about things such as the development of his new persona and more.

During the interview, the former WCW star confirmed that his ROH contract is set to expire on December 1, 2021, but PCO claimed that he is very happy with his current situation:

“I haven’t even looked at options yet, I’m very happy with where I’m at right now and what I’m doing.”

PCO also talked about the success he achieved in 2019 mentioning his various accomplishments and he admitted that it was a huge year for him:

“I just think I had a tremendous year last year, being World Six-Man Tag Champ, World Tag Champ, World Heavyweight Champ with Ring of Honor,

And then the NWA World Tag Team, the Crockett Cup winner, and think that this is a lot of success, it’s pretty huge,”

With the amount of success he achieved before the coronavirus pandemic, PCO is likely to attract some attention when his contract expires.

It would be interesting to see if he stays with ROH or decides to join a different promotion when the time comes.

PCO On Possibly Defending The ROH Title In NJPW

Current ROH World Champion PCO recently had an interview with WrestlingInc where he talked about things like finally becoming a World Champion in wrestling after 3 decades in the business and more.

Since ROH has a partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling, the current champion was asked about an interesting possibility of defending the ROH title at an NJPW show.

Answering the question, PCO recalled how he was scheduled to make his New Japan debut by competing in the World tag league but the plans were scrapped due to Brody King injuring his knee:

“Maybe. I know I was booked for [World] Tag League and I was supposed to make my debut for New Japan Pro Wrestling. But Brody King injured his knee and tore his ACL, I missed that tournament so it will be interesting to see how things turn out. But my main focus is ROH right now and what’s going on in North America.”

PCO also talked about a potential tour of Australia for the company and revealed that ROH’s parent company Sinclair has increased the promotion’s budget three or four times from last year.

Apart from this, the ROH star talked about his last year’s entrance at Supercard of Honor and teased an out of the box entrance for this year’s edition of the show. You can check out his full interview at this link.

PCO Offers Matt Hardy An ROH World Championship Match

Ring of Honor World Champion PCO has praised Matt Hardy, offering the current RAW Superstar an ROH Championship match over Twitter. PCO’s words come following an interaction between Hardy and a fan online.

Hardy noted how he has great respect for PCO and his recent accomplishments. He highlighted the champion’s “creative, out of the box content” and current character. Hardy stressed that PCO deserves props for his resilience and longevity in the industry.

Seeing his kind words, PCO responded, writing:

“Thanks to @MATTHARDYBRAND who broke through the darkness of creativity and enlightenment creating so much positivity to our industry, Say the word ! PCO the @ringofhonor World Champion with his Creator D.Destro VS Matt Hardy The Match that will POP the entire WORLD”

Hardy replied to the championship opportunity, thanking PCO for the offer and noting how the “proposition sounds positively delightful!”

Matt Hardy In Limbo

With Matt Hardy’s WWE contract reportedly expiring at the end of March, there is substantial fan debate and speculation over where he will go next.

Although Hardy has previously wrestled in Ring of Honor, many believe he will be joining All Elite Wrestling. It is thought he will be revealed to be the Exalted One that is frequently referenced by the Dark Order.

Hardy has teased his farewell in WWE alongside cryptic messages on social media and videos on YouTube. Last week on RAW, Hardy was brutally assaulted by Randy Orton. They are slated to face off against each other this Monday night. They clash in a No Holds Barred match.

PCO Talks About ROH’s Medical Support, Recent Controversy

Current Ring of Honor (ROH) World Champion PCO has commented on the promotion’s safety guidelines, calling ROH a “first-class organization” for their concern and attention to detail. The Villain Enterprises member spoke with CBS Baltimore, recalling how ROH helped him deal with an injury.

“They never charged me for one thing,” PCO shared. “They sent an agent after the show was done. They took care of everything, signed the papers, brought me back to the hotel, made sure I was okay. [Whenever I get] a little banged up or something, I always get a phone call. ‘Are you good? Are you okay?’ And the next day, ‘Thanks for what you’ve done.’ They are nothing but a first-class organization.”

PCO On ROH Controvery

Addressing the recent controversy that transpired between ROH, Joey Mercury and Kelly Klein, PCO expressed that he didn’t know “why [Mercury] said those things.”

He continued, “I don’t know if it might’ve been some frustration because things weren’t going the way that that person was hoping. Was it a personal vendetta? I don’t know what it was. I can’t talk for that guy. And I love him to death, but from my side, it has been nothing but first-class from Ring of Honor. From my signing to every event and to everything that they do.”

PCO Discusses ROH Future, Evolving His Character

Current Ring of Honor World Champion PCO has expressed his confidence in re-signing with the promotion. Speaking with The Post & Courier on his career to date, PCO broached his current status with ROH. He confirmed that they are on good terms and are in the final stages of negotiating a new contract.

“We’re on good terms. We’re finalizing a new contract,” PCO revealed. “ROH has shown tremendous confidence in me, and we have a great relationship. I’m sure we’ll extend the contract. It’s just a matter of time.”

He continued, “There are some very good people running ROH. They are running it with heart, with great principles. They’re awesome people. I just think there’s a very bright future ahead for Ring of Honor.”

Evolving PCO’s Character

PCO noted how he believes there is more to his character than has been presented, and that “payback” is one of his driving motivators.

“There’s so much more to go with this character. I think it’s the nature of life,” PCO said. “I’ve got to get payback for everything I went through and everything that I gave with my heart and soul, a lot of tears and sweat.”

PCO defeated the former ROH World Champion, Rush, last month at ROH’s Final Battle ppay-per-view. They clashed in a Friday the 13th Massacre No DQ matchup. ROH recently uploaded the entire pay-per-view for free to their YouTube channel.

PCO Wins ROH World Championship

Ring of Honor has a new world champion. PCO defeated Rush last night in the main event of Final Battle 2019. The final event of ROH’s calendar year climaxed with the 51-year-old’s title win, becoming the oldest wrestler ever to hold the title.

PCO Talks About ROH Morale, Wanting To Compete With WWE And AEW

Ring of Honor (ROH) wrestler PCO has opened up about the current morale within ROH during an interview with Main Event Radio. During the interview, the number one contender to RUSH’s ROH World Championship also spoke about wanting ROH to be more competitive with WWE and AEW.

“We got a great team spirit in Ring of Honor,” PCO said. “Overall, you don’t see jealousy much. We don’t always travel everyone together, but when we all get together we all get along. The atmosphere in the locker room right now is excellent and we are all there to steal the show and do the best that we can do. We had a big meeting in Baltimore two weeks ago with the office talking about the future. The big Sinclair Broadcasting office, it’s like Titan Tower. They own 217 TV stations across the US. The current state of Ring of Honor is very good.”

He noted that, even though ROH attendance has been down recently, the company is still doing well and is “healthy.” PCO added that they have plenty of people subscribing to HonorClub and are making a lot of merchandise sales. He then stressed how ROH takes cares of its wrestlers, sharing how they have previously covered all medical costs for him and Villain Enterprises leader Marty Scurll. As far as he is concerned, not even WWE treated him as well as ROH.

“We all stay in first-class hotels, they ask you which airline you prefer to fly with. They are so professional, it’s unbelievable. [ROH COO] Joe Koff comes up to you and shakes your hand and asks you how everything is going. They have a lot of heart, and I could only see this company growing and getting better. We have been hurt by losing a lot of talents in a short span of time. We are rebuilding and some new things are coming up for 2020.”

PCO explained how they actively want to compete with promotions like WWE and AEW. He claimed there is a plan in place to allow them to achieve this going forward.

ROH’s next pay-per-view, Final Battle, takes place on Friday 13th December in Baltimore, Maryland.

PCO Opens Up About His ROH Contract Expiring Soon

PCO debuted for Ring of Honor (ROH) last December as a member of Marty Scurll’s Villain Enterprises. Since then he has captured the ROH tag team championships with Brody King, as well as the ROH Six-Man championships with King and Scurll.

During an interview with Wrestling Epicenter, PCO looked back on his time with ROH. He also addressed the fact his contract will soon be expiring.

“It’s been an awesome journey! It has been almost a year now… Wow, what a year, huh?” PCO said. “ROH World Tag Team Champions, ROH World Six-Man Champions, NWA World Tag Team Champions, NWA Crockett Cup, challenging Matt Taven for the Ring of Honor World Championship. Now, I’m a part of the Ring of Honor tournament coming up this weekend in New Orleans—just incredible buzzing. I’ve got to write it up on my calendar as one of the best years of my life and of my entire career.”

He confessed that his contract was set to expire before teasing that ROH has a bright future, promising that the promotion will have an amazing 2020.

“Yeah, my contract is coming up soon. But, I just think they’re going to do everything… You know, they’ve got great wrestlers here. Sinclair Broadcasting is huge. They’ve got all kinds of resources and talent in legal and marketing. I think there is a bright, bright future ahead for Ring of Honor,” said PCO. “It is going to be very interesting going into 2020. There has been a lot of big moves that have been made lately. I can’t really say too much. I can’t predict the future that much. But, I can tell you that they are going to be amazing in 2020!”

Rebuild

PCO added that he knows what it’s like to have to rebuild, referring to ROH losing members of its roster to other promotions. He shared how, at one point, no one believed in him and what he could do, forcing him to rebuild himself from scratch.

“I think I did pretty good. […] It would be a dream come true if ROH could pop off with PCO all together and the amazing talent and team that we’ve got. I know they’re working on some things. It is going to be very, very interesting. Keep Ring of Honor on your radar.”

PCO recently defeated Marty Scurll in the finals of the number one contender tournament at Glory by Honor. This victory earned him the opportunity to face current ROH World Champion, RUSH, for the title at Final Battle in December.

Jim Johnston Returns To Wrestling Industry, Creates New Theme For ROH Star

Jim Johnston has composed some of the most memorable theme songs in pro wrestling. He provided the entrance music for stars such as ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock, DX, The Undertaker and The Ultimate Warrior, to name just a few. Johnston worked for WWE creating themes for 32 years before being released from his contract in 2017.

In an official statement, Ring of Honor (ROH) announced that Johnston has created a new theme for Villain Enterprises member, PCO. The theme will be debuted during tonight’s ROH pay-per-view, Death Before Dishonor.

“It’s been great fun to work on a new theme for PCO and Ring of Honor,” Johnston told ROHWrestling.com. “The energy there has been all positive, and it’s been my honor to hopefully make a small contribution to their continued success.”

PCO has said he is thrilled with the final result and can’t wait for fans to hear it during ROH’s Las Vegas show.

“It really brings the essence of PCO and adds another dimension to the immortality,” PCO said. “It reinforces that PCO is not human. Adding this piece of the puzzle on top of everything else, the success of The French-Canadian Frankenstein becomes limitless.”

PCO battles Kenny King tonight at ROH’s Death Before Dishonor event. Their match is a first-round clash in the Final Battle Number One Contender Tournament. The show takes place from Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada.

PCO Gets 17 Stitches Above Eye Following ROH Event (Video)

PCO might not be human but his face still requires stitches after being busted open. The Villain Enterprises team of PCO and Brody King kicked off last night’s ROH show in Atlanta in a tag match against Tracy Williams and Mark Haskins from Lifeblood.

PCO and King would pick up the victory but PCO was busted open during the bout. He required 17 stitches to close the wound and cameras were on-hand backstage to document him getting stitched up.

PCO in Ring of Honor

PCO signed with Ring of Honor in late 2018. The 51-year-old has won the promotion’s 6-man titles along with Marty Scurll and Brody King and the 2-on-2 tag titles along with Brody King. King and PCO also won the Tag Wars tournament held earlier this year in ROH.

PCO and Brody King also won the 2019 Crockett Cup tournament with NWA. The win also earned them the NWA World Heavyweight Tag Team Championship titles.

Other championships won by Pierre Carl-Oulette throughout his career include the WCW Hardcore Championship and the WWF tag team championships. He was awarded the WCW Hardcore title by Lance Storm during the Team Canada angle in the summer of 2000. PCO and Jaques Rougeous won the WWF tag titles 3x as the Quebecers.

ROH’s PCO Talks About nZo And CaZ XL Invading G1 Supercard

April 6th saw New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and Ring Of Honor (ROH) put on a historic co-promoted show at Madison Square Garden in New York. One of the major stories to take place during their G1 Supercard show saw Enzo and Cass ‘invade’ the show.

The two— now known as nZo and CaZ XL, respectively—jumped the barricade during the ending of the tag team match that would see the Guerrillas of Destiny become the IWGP and ROH tag team champions. The ensuing chaos wasn’t shown on TV, leading people to initially believe that the former WWE Superstars were legitimately trying to make a name for themselves at the expense of the show. It wasn’t long, however, for the angle to be revealed as a work.

One of the men in the matchup, ROH’s PCO, recently spoke with Wrestling Inc. During their conversation, he would reveal that he had no idea about the controversial invasion.

“There was a lot of controversy about what happened. For me, I was just worrying about my back because I took a double powerbomb from 12-14 feet in the air straight to the concrete floor,” PCO confessed. “I didn’t know what was going on because nobody knew nothing about this [invasion]. I just came back from TV tapings in Pittsburgh and Columbus…and I got back yesterday, and there was no Enzo and no Cass at those events. I haven’t heard anything from the office, so I don’t know what’s going on with that. Are they signed? Are they not signed?”

“I’m In The Middle Of This And I’m Confused”

PCO admitted that he didn’t want to get “politically involved” with the situation when asked if he felt their involvement detracted from the match itself. He then alluded that the ROH office may even be working their own roster.

“It seems like sometimes the dressing room is getting worked by the office. I’m in the middle of this and I’m confused. I think everything will unfold and we’ll see what’s going on in the future. Maybe it was planned. Maybe it wasn’t planned. We’ll see how everything will evolve.”

It was initially reported that only the NJPW roster wasn’t made aware of nZo and Caz XL’s appearance—with Tama Tonga expressing how unimpressed he was with the situation. This interview with PCO definitely changes that, adding questions over why ROH would hide it from their own talent.

Briscoes Vs PCO & Brody King Title Match Set For Baltimore Show

At the G1 Supercard from Madison Square Garden on April 6th, 4 teams will vie for both the ROH tag team and IWGP Heavyweight tag team titles. One week beforehand, however, PCO & Brody King will look to defend their ROH tag team titles against the former 10x champions, the Briscoes.

ROH has just announced that the title rematch between the two teams has been added to the Road to G1 Supercard show on March 31st in Baltimore.

Jay Briscoe recently cut a promo stating he and his brother have rematch clauses they want to cash in before MSG.

“We got this show coming up Sunday night, March 31 — everybody forgot about that,” Jay Briscoe said. “Everybody worried about the damn Garden. We’re going to Baltimore first. … I’ll be damned if come Madison Square Garden, April 6, I’ll be damned if anyone gonna walk in [there] the tag team champions if it ain’t gonna be us. … We’ll see y’all boys in Baltimore. Rematch clause.”

PCO & Brody King defeated the Briscoes for the ROH Tag team titles earlier this month at ROH’s 17th Anniversary PPV.

Title Changes Hands At ROH TV Tapings

WARNING: Please be aware that the following report consists of SPOILERS from Ring of Honor’s latest TV tapings.

On Friday night at ROH’s 17th Anniversary PPV, Brody King and PCO defeated The Briscoe Brothers in a Las Vegas street fight to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

Less than 24 hours after the show, ROH TV tapings were held at the Sam’s Town Hotel And Gambling Hall in Las Vegas, Nevada. During the tapings, King and PCO tagged up with Villain Enterprise’s leader Marty Scurll to take on Kingdom’s ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. The trio successfully defeated Kingdom to become the new Six-Man Tag Team Champions.

The World Tag titles are Brody King and PCO’s first ROH gold, and they managed to capture their second gold in the company just a day after. The Six-Man Tag title is Scurll’s overall second championship in the promotion, with the TV Championship being his first, which he won two days after his début at the ROH Reach For The Sky event in November 2016.

PCO and Brody King will be seen defending the ROH World Tag Team Titles at G1 Supercard against current IWGP Tag Team Champions Guerilla Destiny in a winner takes all tag team match.

Marty Scurll, on the other hand, will have a chance to win more gold as he would take on Jay Lethal and Matt Taven in a triple-threat ladder match for the ROH World Championship.

PCO Says WWE Hall Of Fame Can Wait Until He’s Done Wrestling

Hardcore wrestler Pierre Carl Ouellet, or PCO who worked in the WWE as one-half of The Quebecers says that WWE’s Hall of Fame is not a big deal for him.

In a recent interview with The Mirror, PCO explains why the Hall of Fame is not a big focus for him.

“I am not big on the Hall of Fame, it is not a big deal for me. It is not something that is really a focus for me right now. Maybe when everything is behind me. I am still very much in to the action right now, so I can’t think about that.”

PCO revived his career as a hardcore wrestler in 2016 with the ‘French Frankenstein’ gimmick and has been on a roll since. The fifty-one-year-old says that he still has a lot to accomplish and the HOF can wait until he’s done with wrestling.

“I have got so many other things that are important and that I want to accomplish. The HOF can wait until my priority list is complete. It’s not that I don’t care about it, but my focus is not there and I wouldn’t see myself going there while I am working somewhere else, that doesn’t make sense to me. This is a subject we will talk about once I am done wrestling.”

PCO’s Return To Wrestling

PCO announced his retirement from wrestling in early 2011 but came back in 2016 at a Monteregie Wrestling Federation event in Quebec. He wrestled infrequently until he got a huge break from a match in April 2018.

PCO came under the spotlight with his brutal match against WALTER during WrestleMania 34 weekend at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 2. He quickly became one of the hottest acts in the indies which led him to an exclusive contract with Ring of Honor.

PCO signed with ROH in December 2018 and is part of the Villian Enterprises stable with Marty Scrull and Brody King. It doesn’t look like he is going to retire from wrestling soon, and it will be interesting to see where his career goes from here on.

ROH Star To Miss Honor Rising Tour

One ROH (Ring of Honor) star will not be part of the upcoming Honor Rising Tour, which is jointed promoted by the Baltimore-based promotion and NJPW. This exciting talent is PCO.

He wasn’t featured in the lineups that were announced earlier this week and later took to his official Twitter account to address the reason for his absence. It turns out that he couldn’t get his visa for Japan in time.

The first show goes down at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on Friday, February 22 while the second show takes place at the same venue the following night where they will be broadcasted to the world live on NJPW’s streaming service, New Japan World.

Marty Scurll’s “Villain Enterprises” have begun their journey to the G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden. The group’s first official match was recently announced. They will take on Silas Young and the Briscoes at Honor Reigns Supreme on January 13th. ROH released footage from their recent set of television tapings where Scurll debut the new faction.

The event will air live on Honor Club for subscribers.

Marty Scurll will continue with Ring of Honor until at least the G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden. ROH COO, Joe Koff, spoke about the promotion’s talent roster on a recent episode of the WINCLY podcast.

“We have no shortage of talent which is why ROH is so exciting to me and we always deliver a product, we wrestle a brand,” Koff said. “We wrestle a style. Regardless of who’s wrestling that brand or style, the fans’ expectations have always been met.”

Ring Of Honor In 2019: What Will The Promotion Look Like?

Ring of Honor garnered attendance records, launched a streaming service, and broke new ground in 2018. Despite this, many fans are skeptical regarding ROH’s ability to build upon their most successful year ever as we enter 2019.

The reason some are pointing to in regards to skepticism the promotion can continue its string of success is that members of the Elite are departing the company. Cody, Hangman Page, and the Young Bucks won’t be on the ROH full-time roster next year. Marty Scurll’s contract with the promotion ends this spring as well.

Those who have followed ROH since the beginning are aware this is nothing new for the promotion, however. ROH has been built upon a foundation of wrestlers building up their names and then leaving. The only ones who never have are the Briscoes, and they seem to be just where they want to be.

ROH Roster In 2019

Out: The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes and Adam “Hangman” Page.

In: Jeff Cobb, PCO, Brody King, Bandito and Mark Haskins

Granted, the talent in the “Out group” is considerable, but so is the talent in the “In Group”. One notable difference between those leaving and those coming in, however, is that ROH has brought in 3 heavyweights who spent much of this year wrestling each other on the independents. I attended a triple threat match between Jeff Cobb, PCO, and Brody King which took place for Smash Wrestling this year. They were all signed by ROH just a few months later.

There are also rumors that Bandido’s tag-team partner, Flamita could be on his way to ROH. The pair team as “Mexa Blood” and have won tag belts in Progress and the Crash.

In terms of popularity, losing the Elite is significant. In terms of in-ring talent, you can make the argument those coming in have just as much to offer as those who have left, however.

NWA and Ring of Honor

Nick Aldis and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship made an appearance Friday at Final Battle. Aldis applauded for Jay Lethal from the entrance ramp, all but letting the champion know he wants a title match.

The Aldis/NWA/ROH relationship we see in 2019 could be interesting as well. How it plays into what Billy Corgan and the NWA have planned is anyone’s guess at this point. Clearly, the two sides have come to an agreement to work together, however.

NJPW In Ring of Honor Next Year

One of ROH’s biggest draws is their relationship with NJPW. Every year ROH parades around a group of NJPW stars for their Global Wars or War of the Worlds tours. As NJPW continues to grow in popularity, so too will their joint shows with ROH, including this spring inside Madison Square Garden.

Zack Sabre Jr and Juice Robinson are two names ROH is expected to feature more of in the next calendar year. Even the 2019 version of NJPW’s Bullet Club, featuring members of the Firing Squad who kicked the Elite out, are possible for ROH next year. As both NJPW and ROH gear up for the Garden show in the first-quarter of 2019, expect NJPW stars to be a regular occurrence for ROH.

Wrestlers ROH Has Lost In the Past

Since 2002, ROH has hired good wrestlers who, for whatever reason, weren’t getting a shot elsewhere. Tyler Black, El Generico, Kevin Steen, and Bryan Danielson have all come and gone from Ring of Honor in addition to numerous others. Not only did the company keep moving forward after those departures, but they also grew, evolved, and got better. There is no reason to believe anything other than that will happen in 2019 as well.
