Pro Wrestling: EVE Announce Retirement Show for Kris Wolf

Former Stardom performer Kris Wolf unfortunately announced her retirement earlier this year. This was due to recurring symptoms from concussions she’s sustained during her career. Wolf announced that she would be embarking on one further tour of the United States and then appearing at a retirement show in the UK.

Wolf appeared in a video recently confirming her retirement, saying “I wanted to let you guys know that this is going to be my last tour. I’ve had kind of some s—ty symptoms [from] my concussion stuff come up. … I think now would be a good time to peace out before I completely lose my mind. Just had a couple of blackouts, memory issues.”

Check out the video below:

The aforementioned retirement show in the UK has now been revealed. Pro Wrestling: EVE will be holding the event on April 26th from the Resistance Gallery in London, England. The show is titled “WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE – The Frantic Scramble In Search For Meaning Through A Mess Of Meaty Interactions. AKA The Kris Wolf Retirement Show.”

EVE sent out the following regarding the show: “This is a very special EVE event where we will be saying goodbye to one of our most beloved performers, Kris Wolf.  Join us as we wish Kris a happy retirement with our usual blend of death-defying, jaw dropping, action packed, theatrical wrestling stunts fuelled with cabaret and comedy, this time with a large helping of Kris’ particular blend of bonkers.”

Pro Wrestling: EVE Announce Main Event For ‘She Fights On Fridays’

Pro Wrestling: EVE have confirmed the main event for their upcoming ‘She Fights on Fridays’ event. The show will be taking place from the Resistance Gallery in Bethnal Green, London on Friday March 8th. 03/08 marks International Women’s Day and the company have lined up a big tag team bout to mark the occasion. Leon and Emi Sakura will be taking on NXT UK Superstar Kay Lee Ray and Command Bolshoi.

This comes after the news that EVE have confirmed that there will be a showcase event for the company taking place on April 26th. Several of EVE’s top stars have tweeted their followers hyping the announcement including NXT UK’s Kay Lee Ray, Nina Samuels and Killer Kelly.

We spoke to EVE co-owner Dann Read and he confirmed that this will be an “important” event for the company. The official company statement for the show confirmed that this would be “not a ‘one time only in the UK.’ A ‘one time only’ no matter where in the world you are that you would quite probably seriously regret missing.”

The company has been on a roll since their Wrestle Queendom show last year at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London.

Update On NXT UK Talent Contract Situation

We reported multiple changes to the NXT UK contracts at the tail end of 2018. Yet whilst there were conflicting reports the actual reality of the situation is still no closer to being clear.

The Wrestling Observer recently made some comments on the contractual situation of certain NXT UK Superstars. Millie McKenzie and Charlie Morgan of Pro Wrestling: EVE reportedly left the brand at the end of 2018. Although, this was not widely publicised. The Observer suggests that EVE may be the reason for Morgan leaving the WWE UK brand. The WON wrote that “Morgan has attracted a lot of mainstream press as the “Ace” of Pro Wrestling Eve, including a recent appearance on the BBC’s general affairs magazine show, The One Show.” Whilst McKenzie’s decision to leave NXT UK “may have been influenced by her desire to continue to perform in intergender matches.”

There’s further confusion with regards to talent still contracted to NXT UK. The Observer specifically mentions Nina Samuels, the Pro Wrestling: EVE Champion and NXT UK Superstar. The Observer wrote “despite previous suggestions that WWE UK talent could not work for Pro Wrestling EVE, at their recent Global Strike 2, Nina Samuels retained her title over Emi Sakura, whilst Kay Lee Ray won a number one contender tournament.”

Essentially, the situation is still no clearer than it was at the end of 2018.

Rumored NXT UK Signee Loses Top Independent Championship

One of the UK’s top independent stars has lost quite a prestigious title. Viper, also known as Piper Niven, lost her Pro Wrestling: EVE International Championship today at STARDOM.

The event took place at Korakuen Hall and saw Utami Hayashishita defeat Viper to add the EVE International & SWA Championships to her collection. Hayashishita now holds four of the top Women’s titles in the industry.

Viper has been linked with a move to NXT UK in recent weeks. The Scottish star was prominent on the WoS programme however with the likes of Kay Lee Ray signing with NXT UK it is not unlikely that Viper could follow suit. Kay Lee Ray is the (current?) WoS Women’s Champion and has signed with NXT UK.

STARDOM and Pro Wrestling: EVE do however have a strong working relationship and this could be a chance title change unrelated to Viper’s contractual status. There have also been reports that AEW have sent out feelers to some top independent talent, Viper included. Viper/Piper Niven does have some experience in a WWE ring, having performed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic.

The Wrestling Observer recently speculated that Viper would be heading to the WWE Performance Center and NXT shortly. Although it has not been confirmed if this would be for NXT in the United States or for NXT UK.

British Legend Reacts to Pro Wrestling: EVE Hall of Fame Induction

UK promotion Pro Wrestling: EVE has inducted a British legend into their Hall of Fame. The EVE HOF will be housed in a physical location, Bishopsgate Institute in London, England.

Klondyke Kate is one of the pioneers of professional wrestling in the United Kingdom. The legend began her career at age 14 in the now famous city of Blackpool, England. William Regal of course got his start in the same territory for reference.

Kate took part in an interview with Calling Spots magazine back in 2016 and she listed her favourite opponents, including some WWE Superstars. Kate stated “I spent quite a few months working with Natalya who was then Nattie Neidhart, actually wrestled her Dad funnily enough. If I am honest I would say I really enjoyed the competition and the viciousness of working with Saraya Knight (mother of Paige).

The British star was one of the most dominating heels of her time. At her largest Kate weighed 28 stones (around 400 pounds) and only stands at 5 foot 4. In recent years she has lost an incredible amount of weight, she mentioned to Calling Spots she had “lost about 14st 9lbs at last count.

Kate reacted to her induction by tweeting “For every woman who thinks she can’t……I’m telling you she most certainly can!

Congratulations to Kate and all at Pro Wrestling: EVE. You can find more info via the tweet below.

Update On NXT UK Women’s Superstars Allowed To Work With IMPACT

We’ve been reporting recently on the new NXT UK talent contractual situations. NXT UK contracted Superstars will now be ‘exclusive’ to the NXT offshoot. Previously NXT UK Superstars were prohibited from performing on shows within 7 days of an official NXT UK date but now they can only perform for certain ‘greenlit’ companies and not on any on demand platforms.

The Wrestling Observer claimed this week that IMPACT talents are possibly part of the ‘greenlit’ performers that NXT UK Superstars can face in-ring. Jordynne Grace faced Toni Storm on two occasions this past week for PROGRESS and Pro Wrestling: EVE. Dave Meltzer claimed that “Evidently the ban doesn’t include Impact in Europe either, since Jordynne Grace, who has an Impact contract, worked twice this past week against Toni Storm, for both Eve and Progress. You could note Progress being aligned with WWE, but Eve isn’t to the best of our knowledge.”

We can confirm that this isn’t the case at all. The rule prohibiting NXT UK Superstars being able to face performers outside of the ‘WWE Bubble’ does not come into effect until January, that is why Storm appeared for both PROGRESS and EVE against Jordynne Grace. The only ‘rule’ that WWE has enforced from the announcement of the new contracts is the ‘intergender’ rule. NXT UK Superstars cannot perform against a star of the opposite gender on any independent shows.
