NXT’s Myles Borne Pokes Fun At Randy Orton Comparrison

Since arriving in WWE NXT, Myles Borne has been making a name for himself and is currently part of the impressive No Quarter Catch Crew faction. With his ring-attire, physique, and looks, many have compared Borne to one of WWE’s biggest stars of all time, Randy Orton.

On X (formerly known as Twitter,) Borne found the comparrison amusing, and pointed out one key difference between himself and the 14-time WWE World Champion.

Borne’s tweet is alluding to the fact that he is partially deaf, and at this junction is the only partially deaf wrestler employed bt WWE. The NXT standout was born with Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn, a treatable condition but one of the major side effects of the treatment is hearing loss. Despite this, Borne has perservered and proven himself a talent on the rise as part of the No Quarter Catch Crew and WWE NXT.

Being compared to one of WWE’s biggest success stories of all time is hardly a bad look for Borne, who appears regularly in NXT alongside Charlie Dempsey, Tavion Heights, and Wren Sinclair. On the February 25, edition of WWE NXT, Borne and Heights battled the returning Hardy Boyz, and commentary quipped that even Borne could hear the massive pop Matt and Jeff received. During the match, Borne delivered a slam straight out of Orton’s playbook.

Borne and Heights came up short in the match, and the NQCC were later found to have been ambushed by NXT’s mysterious new faction. Nevertheless, Borne remains determined to become a top name in WWE, just like the man so many fans compare him to.

Randy Orton Expected to Return to WWE Before WrestleMania 41

Randy Orton is reportedly set to make his WWE return as early as next month, according to PWInsider’s sources within WWE’s creative team. The current plan calls for Orton to be back in action in time for the company’s European tour, which takes place in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 41.

Orton, a 14-time world champion and one of WWE’s most decorated superstars, has been absent from in-ring competition for an extended period due to injury.

While details regarding his storyline direction remain unclear, Orton’s return will likely play a significant role in WWE’s Road to WrestleMania 41. Given his history with top stars and his established legacy, fans can expect him to be a key figure in the upcoming months.

WWE’s European tour is set to take place ahead of the biggest event of the year, and Orton’s involvement could add further excitement to the international shows. With anticipation building for WrestleMania 41, his return could set up major rivalries heading into the marquee event.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for more updates on Randy Orton’s official return date and potential feuds as WWE finalizes its plans.

Chinese New Year: Looking Back At Wrestling’s Famous Snakes

Today, January 29, marks the start of the Chinese New Year, which this year is the Year of the Snake. With that in mind, let’s look back on some of the most iconic legless reptiles from the world of professional wrestling.

Stone Cold Steve Austin (“The Texas Rattlesnake”)
Known as “The Texas Rattlesnake,” Stone Cold Steve Austin proved to be as slippery as the serpent with his “Don’t Trust Anybody” attitude. Despite this, the Texas Rattlesnake would hold tag team gold multiple times, and is one of WWE’s biggest ever stars.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts
One of the most iconic wrestlers associated with snakes, Jake Roberts carried a python named Damien to the ring. He was known for his psychological warfare, methodical in-ring style, and devastating DDT finisher. His career would often see him use his pet snake to scare his opponents senseless.

CM Punk’s Anaconda Vice
CM Punk’s signature submission move, the Anaconda Vice, is a jiu-jitsu-inspired chokehold that immobilizes opponents. Like the move, the Anaconda is a snake that constricts its prey, reflecting its crushing effectiveness.

Randy Orton (“The Viper”)
Nicknamed “The Viper” due to his cold, calculating in-ring style, Randy Orton remains one of WWE’s top stars. The elusions to snakes continue in the ring for Orton, who often slithers on the mat before delivering an RKO.

Santino Marella (“The Cobra”)
Santino Marella often used The Cobra, a comedic yet surprisingly effective finishing move. The move would prove to be even more ‘dangerous’ when the former Intercontinental Champion added a snake-themed sock to his arm.

The Cobra
Years before Santino Marella would use the name for his finisher, The Cobra competed in the in the 70s and 80s. Played by George Takano, The Cobra was a two-time (and final) WWF Juniour Heavyweight Champion.

Kobra Moon (Lucha Underground)
A dominant female wrestler in Lucha Underground, Kobra Moon was the leader of the Snake Tribe. Her character was portrayed as a cunning and manipulative queen with snake-like agility. Kobra Moon is better known today as former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa.

John Cena’s Retirement Tour: Stars Vying to be a Final Opponent

As John Cena embarks on his farewell tour in 2025, several WWE superstars have expressed interest in facing him for a memorable final encounter. Here are some wrestlers who have shared their desire to step into the ring with Cena before the WWE icon calls it a career.

CM Punk: CM Punk has expressed a strong desire to face John Cena once more before Cena’s retirement. Following the Money in the Bank 2024 event, Punk highlighted their intertwined careers and vowed that “we gotta do it at least one more time.”.

Kevin Owens: Kevin Owens hopes to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of his first match against Cena by facing him on May 31, 2025, during John’s farewell tour. Owens’ feud with Cena in 2015 did huge things for the then-NXT Champion who’s gone on to be a top name on the main roster.

Bron Breakker: Bron Breakker has boldly challenged John Cena to a match for the Intercontinental Championship—the only title Cena has never won. Speaking to SESCoops‘ MuscleManMalcom, Breakker urged Cena to “grow some balls” and face him for the coveted belt during the farewell tour.

Randy Orton: Randy Orton, arguably Cena’s greatest rival is a favored choice among fans for a farewell match. Speaking to the Daily Mail last August, Orton hopes that if fans want to see him face Cena one more time, WWE’s creative team, led by Triple H, will make it happen.

Logan Paul: Logan Paul personally pitched a WrestleMania 41 match with John Cena. However, reports indicate that this match is “100 percent not happening,” and current discussions are focusing on other potential opponents for Cena.

Who Does WWE Have Planned For John Cena at WrestleMania?

Bronson Reed: Though currently out with an injury, Bronson Reed has taken to X to put himself forward as an opponent. The Australian Superstar even claimed that John can’t truly call himself the ‘GOAT’ until he’s survived Reed’s Tsunami finisher.

The Miz: 14 years after his unlikely win over John Cena at WrestleMania 27, The Miz hopes to get one more moment with Cena before his farewell. Cena’s most recent match for WWE saw him team with Miz and R-Truth on the postWrestleMania 40 Raw.

John Cena’s Farewell: What Does It Mean?

Cena made his retirement plans public during a surprise appearance at WWE’s Money in the Bank event on July 6, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Leading up to his retirement, Cena plans to participate in several key WWE events including next month’s Royal Rumble, March’s Elimination Chamber, and WWE WrestleMania 41.

In total, he intends to perform in approximately 30 to 40 events throughout 2025 as part of his farewell tour. Fans have been excited at the possible matches Cena may have, and the possibility that he could become a 17-time World Champion and break Ric Flair’s record.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on John Cena as there’s no shortage of Superstars eager to share the ring with the WWE icon one final time.

WWE Stars Share Their Greatest Raw Moments As Netflix Move Nears

WWE Monday Night Raw is mere days away from debuting on Netflix, in possibly the biggest change to WWE programming in history. Ahead of the historic January 6, 2025, event, some of WWE’s top names shared their greatest Raw moments:

John Cena: Hour-Long Showdown With Shawn Michaels.

Considered one of the best Raw matches in history, John Cena and Shawn Michaels battled for an hour in London during the April 23, 2007, show. Though Cena didn’t win, the match, which had fans on the edge of their seats, remains a highlight of his WWE career.

Sean Waltman: Defeating Razor Ramon

The 1-2-3 Kid’s win over Razor Ramon was Raw’s first big upset, but would hardly be the last. Over three decades later, Waltman’s shocking victory over his Kliq ally is an all-time Raw classic.

Mick Foley: First WWE Championship Win

Mankind’s historic win over The Rock in January 1999 didn’t just see Mick Foley win the big one, but also a notable shift in the Monday Night War. Tony Schiavone on Nitro spoiled the result, mockingly adding “That’ll put butts in seats,” only to see hundreds of thousands of fans switch from WCW programming to Raw.

Randy Orton: Home Invasion By Triple H

Randy Orton made his feud personal with Triple H in 2009 by RKO’ing Stephanie McMahon and sealing his dastardly deed with a kiss. On the March 9, show, Triple H showed he could make things personal as he invaded Orton’s home, culminating in throwing the Viper through a window.

R-Truth: First WWE U.S. Title win

Over a year before they’d be ‘Awesome’ allies, R-Truth defeated The Miz in May 2010 to win his first U.S. Championship. The win “meant the world” to the veteran Truth, who wanted to show “people like me, that they can do it too.”

Rey Mysterio: Eddie Guerrero Tribute Show

Mere days after the tragic passing of Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio competed on the November 14, 2005, Raw where he battled Shawn Michaels. Mysterio was not “in the best state of mind” but is pleased he was able to deliver with HBK on such an emotional night.

Carlito: First Night Title Win

In 2004, Carlito made his WWE debut on SmackDown by winning the U.S. Title in his first match from John Cena. The following year, Carlito would prove this was no fluke by defeating Shelton Benjamin to win the Intercontinental Championship in his first match after being drafted to Raw.

Big E: Dethroning Bobby Lashley

After years of speculation and fan support, Big E finally became WWE Champion in September 2021, cashing in Money in the Bank on Bobby Lashley. Though Big E’s in-ring future remains uncertain, winning WWE’s richest prize on Raw is a pivotal moment for the Superstar’s career.

Fans can look forward to many more iconic moments from Raw once the red brand debuts on Netflix. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest from WWE’s big move as a new era on the streaming juggernaut continues to draw near.

A Lapsed Fan Guide Ahead of WWE RAW on Netflix Debut

Kevin Owens Explains Randy Orton’s Importance To WWE Locker Room

Kevin Owens has nothing but nice things to say about Randy Orton despite their recent falling out.

The former Universal Champion recently spoke to DailyMail UK to promote the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event. He discussed things such as his upcoming WWE Championship match with Cody Rhodes and more.

When asked what it’s been like working with The Viper on a personal and professional level since his return from back injury, Owens claimed that there is no one in WWE he respects more than Randy:

“On a professional level, but also a personal level, he will willingly talk about the mistakes he has made when he was younger and first starting out, because he wants to be an example of what to do and what not to do. He is very open about it and I respect him so much.”

Randy’s Respect Is Worth A Lot: Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens said that he’s seen Orton changing and maturing through his WWE tenure. He mentioned that the Legend Killer gives the credit for it to his wife and kids:

“He is just a real positive influence in our locker room. When he wasn’t here, you could feel it. When Randy Orton is around, people are on their toes more because they want Randy to respect them. Randy’s respect is worth a lot.”

The former NXT Champion also discussed how Orton has signed a new WWE deal recently and said that they need guys like Randy to stick around as a positive influence on talents coming from the developmental.

Matt Riddle Reveals Why Randy Orton Initially Disliked Him

Matt Riddle has revealed that Randy Orton didn’t like him at first.

RK Bro is the most famous and potentially most memorable act of Riddle’s wrestling career. Though like many other legends of the business, Orton wasn’t a fan of the King of Bros at first, because of his unique approach to things in the business.

The former WWE Star told the story of his first interaction with The Viper during an interview with Barstool Rasslin’. He revealed that he didn’t shake Randy’s hand when he came into the locker room because he didn’t want to look like a fanboy:

“Before we actually wrestled a full match, Randy wasn’t a huge fan of me. I guess he thought I was disrespectful because I had my headphones on. He came to the locker room, everybody was shaking everybody’s hand.

I didn’t want to be like a nerd and go over. Didn’t wanna do that. So I [just] gave him a nod. I was waiting for my chance to shake his hand, but I guess he took that as disrespect. I wasn’t [blowing him off].”

First Person That Said Anything: Matt Riddle

Matt Riddle would go on to form a tag team with Randy Orton after they had a match on the April 19, 2021 episode of Raw. Though according to the former US Champion Orton had already softened up to him following his infamous backstage promo where he forgot his lines:

“Later on, I did a promo with Asuka where I forgot my lines. I had this long segment about talking about robots in Japan, and I forgot it. I didn’t know we were live; I thought we were recording. When I did that, I was like, ‘Oh no, I’m probably in trouble.’

When I went to the locker room the first person that said anything was Randy. He goes, ‘I don’t know if that shit was planned, kid, but that was the funniest shit you’ve done since you’ve been here. That was your best promo yet.’ I was like ‘Well, at least Randy liked it.’ and then Vince and Bruce, and everybody else that was in creative also enjoyed it.”

Apart from this, Riddle also talked about potentially facing Goldberg in his announced retirement match, the difference of pro wrestling and MMA, and more.

Kevin Owens’ Piledriver on Randy Orton May Have Caused ‘Undisclosed Cervical Injuries’

Tonight’s WWE SmackDown featured a brutal and shocking escalation in the feud between Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, with Owens delivering a banned piledriver that left Orton hospitalized.

The confrontation began after a commercial break when Orton took to the mic and called Owens out, demanding revenge for a previous attack at Crown Jewel. Owens appeared on the stage, restrained by road agent Petey Williams and referee Dan Engler, but broke free and charged into the ring. The two immediately clashed, with Orton briefly gaining the upper hand before Owens retaliated by hitting him with a piledriver—a move banned in WWE due to its high-risk nature.

As fans and commentators looked on in shock, road agents and referees rushed to check on Orton, who was ultimately loaded onto a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance. Cody Rhodes accompanied Orton to the hospital, underscoring the severity of the assault and its potential impact on existing alliances and storylines. Later in the show, Michael Cole provided an update, announcing that Orton was being evaluated for undisclosed cervical injuries.

Michael Cole and Corey Graves effectively sold the move’s dangerous reputation. Orton was taken away in an ambulance as medical personnel attended to him, with Cody Rhodes at his side.

Kevin Owens & Randy Orton Brawl Sees Crown Jewel Match Called Off

Kevin Owens and Randy Orton held nothing back in the latest chapter of their deeply personal rivalry that unfolded at WWE Crown Jewel 2024.

During Orton’s entrance, Owens attacked his former ally with a steel chair and the pair would brawl in and out of the ring. Owens would deliver a stunner to the referee while Adam Pearce would eat an RKO from the Viper. The violence would continue into the crowd and the match was ultimately called off.

WWE Crown Jewel is taking place from the Mohammad Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The card for the show is as follows:

  • Cody Rhodes Vs. GUNTHER (WWE Crown Jewel Championship)
  • Nia Jax Vs. Liv Morgan (WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship)
  • Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Bronson Reed
  • Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens
  • LA Knight (c) vs. Andrade vs. Carmelo Hayes (WWE U.S. Championship)
  • Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair (c) vs. Damage CTRL (Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky) vs. Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) vs. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)
  • Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) vs. The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga) (with Tonga Loa)

Kevin Owens Casts Doubts Over WWE Future After Recent Betrayals

Since Bad Blood, Kevin Owens has attacked Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, seemingly payback for Rhodes’ willingness to team Roman Reigns at the PLE. The Prizefighter did not appear during the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, but cast doubt on his future via a video shared to social media.

Earlier this week, Owens said he’d been silenced by WWE and gave the company’s higher-ups until SmackDown to share a video, detailing his side of what’s happened. Taking matters into his own hands, Owens has now shared a video on his own X account, in which he claims Randy betrayed him, not the other way around.

“I would have never done that to you [Orton]. I thought what we had was different. I can’t believe you picked Cody Rhodes over me.”

Owens added that between WWE disrespecting him and Orton’s ‘betrayal’ of the former Universal Champion, he doesn’t know “if or when” he’ll return to WWE TV.

WWE has gone a different way with the presentation of this angle, including relying on fans to record and share Owens’ attack on Rhodes. Similarly, the full footage of Owens’ attack on Orton was first shared by Sports Illustrated, which obtained CCTV footage of the attack. Now, it remains to be seen when Owens will be back on WWE programming (if ever,) as the Prizefighter continues to believe he is the victim of these betrayals. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Best Randy Orton RKOs Ranked

Randy Orton’s RKO has become one of the most iconic finishing moves in WWE history. Known for its sudden and devastating impact, the RKO has helped Orton secure numerous victories and championships throughout his career. Let’s dive into the best RKOs of all time, ranked based on their execution, impact, and memorable moments.

Top 5 RKOs of All Time

5. RKO to The Undertaker – WrestleMania 21

In a match that showcased Orton’s ability to counter even the most formidable opponents, he delivered a stunning RKO to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 21.

As The Deadman attempted his signature chokeslam, Orton slipped out and hit a perfectly timed RKO.

4. RKO to CM Punk – WrestleMania 23

During the Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 23, Orton showcased his creativity and timing.

As both he and CM Punk climbed the ladder, Orton managed to position himself and deliver a jaw-dropping RKO to Punk from the top of the ladder. This high-flying RKO left the audience in awe and solidified Orton’s reputation for pulling off the move in unexpected situations.

3. RKO to John Cena – Saturday Night Main Event

In one of the most brutal iterations of the RKO, Orton targeted John Cena during a Saturday Night Main Event. After yanking Cena out of the ring and smashing him into the steel steps, Orton delivered a vicious RKO that drove Cena’s body onto a steel chair.

The impact, combined with the audible thud and the sight of the mangled chair, made this one of the most cringe-worthy yet impressive RKOs in Orton’s career.

2. RKO to Evan Bourne – RAW 2010

This RKO is often cited as one of the most iconic in WWE history. During a match on RAW in 2010, Evan Bourne attempted his signature move, Air Bourne, from the top rope.

In a split second, Orton shot up from his prone position and caught Bourne in mid-air with a perfectly executed RKO. The timing and athleticism required for this move left fans and commentators alike in disbelief.

1. RKO to Seth Rollins – WrestleMania 31

Topping our list is the breathtaking RKO Orton delivered to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 31. As Rollins attempted to hit Orton with his Curb Stomp finisher, Orton countered by launching Rollins high into the air and catching him with an RKO on the way down.

This move not only secured Orton the victory but also became one of the most replayed and celebrated RKOs of all time.

The Impact of the RKO

The RKO’s popularity stems from its versatility and Orton’s ability to hit it “outta nowhere.” Whether countering high-flying moves, reversing other finishers, or catching opponents off guard, Orton has consistently found new and exciting ways to execute his signature move.

Randy Orton Sees Bright Future For Je’Von Evans After WWE NXT Match

On the October 8, edition of WWE NXT, Randy Orton returned to St. Louis to battle Je’Von Evans, in only Orton’s second-ever match as part of the brand. In the end, the Viper was able to drop the Young OG with an RKO in a high-profile match that was part of NXT’s head-to-head efforts with AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday.

In a WWE NXT Digital Exclusive, Orton shared his excitement to be back in his hometown and was thrilled he had the chance to work with Evans.

“I got to work with an incredible talent tonight, only 20 years old. You know him, he’s bouncy, Je’Von Evans. Dude, I’m very excited to see where he goes in the future. He’s gonna be around for as long as he wants to be.”

Despite their very different in-ring styles, Orton shared that he and Evans have a lot in common when asked for advice for the Young OG.

“I think that he needs to keep doing what he’s doing. But what I noticed first and foremost after meeting him for the first time today, he’s incredibly humble, he has nothing but respect for the business and the guys like me, the old fuddy-duddies that have been here for over 20 years, and you know what, that means a lot.”

Evans may not have won this week, but sharing the ring with a 14-time former WWE World Champion is another feather in the cap of the 20-year-old NXT prodigy. With high-profile matches already under his belt, and now Orton’s endorsement, the future, however long it may be, certainly looks bright for Je’Von Evans.

Randy Orton Set To Compete At October 8 NXT

Randy Orton’s role for the October 8 episode of NXT has been revealed.

WWE’s third brand will be moving to its new home on The CW at the start of October and the company is looking to make a big impact upon the premiere.

They had previously announced that CM Punk and Randy Orton will respectively be appearing on the first and second episode of the show on the CW.

During the most recent episode of the development brand, General Manager Ava announced that The Viper would actually be competing at the show coming live from his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.

Orton’s opponent was confirmed later when Je’Von Evans asked Ava for a match and the 14-time world champion responded to his request on Twitter:

Randy has previously made one appearance for the brand. He defeated Damien Sandow in a match during the March 17, 2013 episode of the show when it was still a one-hour broadcast.

The Legend Killer won’t be the only main roster star appearing at the upcoming event as Austin Theory and Grayson Waller have also been announced.

The duo collectively known as A-Town Down Under will be challenging Axiom & Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Championships. The episode will also see the return of Sexyy Red, though what she will be doing at the event has not been revealed.

Despite the inclusion of the big names, the episode seems to be drawing limited interest from people. The company recently moved it from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis to the smaller venue of The Factory at The District in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Photos of Randy Orton and Wife Kim’s Romantic Belize Getaway

Randy Orton is known as one of the most cold and calculated competitors in WWE history, but his wife Kim is giving us a look at a different side of him.

Kim Orton took to Instagram (@Kim.orton01) on Monday to share glimpses of their romantic tropical vacation in Belize. The series of photos include the caption, “Getting some much needed alone time with my love @randyorton #vacation #Belize” and show a side of “The Viper” that many WWE fans haven’t seen. The 15-time world champ has committed heinous acts over the past 22 years. However, these vacation snapshots provide a refreshing contrast, offering a unique look at his life outside the squared circle.

The photos shared by Kim Orton show the couple standing in front of a helicopter, smiling and enjoying a scenic helicopter ride. One particularly sweet moment features a bed decorated with leaves spelling out “RKO” and “KIM,” adding a romantic touch to their getaway.

Orton was in action this past week on WWE SmackDown, appearing as Kevin Owens’ mystery partner against A-Town Down Under.

Regarding retirement, Randy Orton has not specified an exact timeline for when he plans to hang it up. However, he has indicated in various interviews that he hopes to continue wrestling as long as he’s physically able.

Watch below to learn how Randy Orton met his wife Kim:

WWE NXT (10/8) Moved From St. Louis To Smaller Chesterfield Venue

In October, WWE NXT will move to The CW, ending a five-year tenure on the USA Network. WWE has been stacking the card for the first two weeks of WWE NXT in its new era, but one of these shows has now undergone a significant change.

The second episode of WWE NXT on The CW was scheduled to take place at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on October 8, but that show has since been moved. WWE has confirmed that the event will now take place at The Factory at The District in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Fans who had already purchased tickets for the St. Louis event can seek refunds or exchanges. Tickets for the relocated event in Chesterfield will go on sale on September 18th at 12 PM CT via Ticketmaster.

For concerts and basketball, the Enterprise Center can hold 22,000 fans, while The Factory at The District has a capacity of 3,000 fans. Though WWE has not confirmed a reason for the move, the promotion will have an easier time filling the much smaller venue where the October 8, edition of WWE NXT will now take place.

WWE NXT – October 8

Wherever the show takes place, the October 8, edition of WWE NXT will be an exciting two hours for fans. When the show had been announced for St. Louis, it was announced that Randy Orton would be appearing in front of his hometown crowd.

The October 8, episode will also deal with the fallout from the previous week’s premiere episode of WWE NXT on The CW. That show will see the NXT and NXT Women’s Titles on the line, as well as an appearance by CM Punk in Chicago, Illinois. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on WWE NXT and its move to The CW.

WWE Alum: I Was Punished For Prioritizing My Pregnant Wife

Being a part of WWE’s roster is no easy feat, as you’re expected to make shows around the world, often making the trip out of your own pocket. It’s not just the in-ring talent who have to deal with this demanding schedule, and one ex-WWE name allegedly got in trouble for choosing family over the company.

In the run-up to WWE Bash In Berlin 2024, Randy Orton spoke with Michael Cole and said he feels WWE is 100% now than it has been before. Orton shared that locker room morale has skyrocketed, thanks in part to WWE letting talent time off to be with their families.

One person who’s especially pleased to see this change is Jonathan Coachman. On Twitter, Coachman recalled being punished for not going to a Tribute to the Troops event in Afghanistan as his pregnant wife wanted him to stay.

The Coach and WWE

Coachman was with WWE full-time from 1999 to 2008 and returned as a RAW commentator and pre-show host from 2016 to 2018. Despite the positive changes Coachman is pleased to see though, fans should not expect to see him on WWE programming again. In November 2023, Coachman said he would never return to WWE due to how he was treated during his second run with the promotion.

Changing for the Better

Randy Orton is not the only person who believes WWE has changed for the better. Earlier this year, Austin Theory claimed that the current era has surpassed the Attitude Era thanks to the compelling stories and in-ring action. Brian Gewirtz, who was a writer in the Attitude Era, has agreed that WWE today has a bigger ‘buzz’ than what it held during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Cody Rhodes Has ‘No Plans’ To Face Mentor Randy Orton

Cody Rhodes retained his WWE Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens, but could he have another friend to face in Randy Orton?

During the Bash In Berlin post-show, Rhodes addressed plenty as he was also tagging in for Triple H who was unavailable for the post-show due to his daughter beginning college. However, after he got done with the nuts and bolts of the numbers, Rhodes was asked if he could envision Randy Orton as a future opponent for him after he was caught eyeing up the WWE Title months back.

Before Rhodes answered, he did take time to congratulate and thank both Orton and GUNTHER for the ‘house,’ after they headlined the Bash In Berlin, the highest grossing arena event in WWE history.

“Gosh, I don’t want to give you a bad answer, but that match, a lot would have to happen for that match to take place. Again, that’s a very real relationship and friendship in the mentor and the student, but it’s certainly not something I would back down from.

’cause like I just said, sometimes the people you want to know how you’ve grown the most is the ones closest to you and nobody’s closer to me than Randy Orton so if it happens, that’s a lot of drama.”

– Cody Rhodes

A battle between Orton and Rhodes seems more than likely to occur at some point. Even against Kevin Owens, Cody seemed in dire straits, but Owens couldn’t take advantage due to his friendship and it cost him opportunities to win the title. That could have led to a massive heel turn, but after the match KO kept his cool.

Please H/t SEScoops for the transcription.

GUNTHER Shakes Hands With Randy Orton After Title Defense

GUNTHER retained against Randy Orton, but ‘The Viper’ did something surprising to close out Bash In Berlin.

Orton lost clean to ‘The Ring General’ after he was choked out via several sleeper hold attempts. The match however, was a lot in favor to Orton as GUNTHER was actually the one to fight underneath against the future WWE Hall of Famer.

Randy was really soaking it in with the record-breaking crowd in Berlin, Germany as the main event got underway and he gave it to GUNTHER in so many ways. Orton ended up hitting a RKO on GUNTHER.

During the Bash In Berlin post-show, Cody Rhodes took a moment to thank both Orton and GUNTHER “for the house” tonight in Berlin and they did deliver for a hot crowd. Orton performed a massive spot on GUNTHER at ringside when he set up steel steps to deliver an elevated belly-to-back suplex through the commentary table.

Orton was ready to strike once again when the action got back into the ring, but GUNTHER corrected course and did cinch in his patented sleeper hold. Orton fought free briefly but GUNTHER kept in control and got Randy to pass out.

After the fight, GUNTHER took a moment to extend a hand to Orton and Randy accepted the handshake without any treachory following it.

Following Randy’s exit, GUNTHER spoke in German to the fans and while it still needs to be translated in English, he did mention Triple H in his speech.

Matt Riddle Believes He Can Have An RK Bro Like Run With WWE Hall of Famer

Matt Riddle believes he can do for RVD what he did for Randy Orton and have a great tag team run with the WWE Hall of Famer.

The team, collectively known as RK Bro, was one of the highlights of WWE programming during the pandemic era. Their run, however, was cut short due to Orton’s back issues which resulted in the Legend Killer taking the longest break of his wrestling career in mid-2022.

The Ultimate Bro discussed his time working with The Viper during an interview with New York Post. He mentioned how Orton was dealing with extreme pain even before they started working together and he was actually able to assist the wrestling veteran by taking more damage himself:

“He wanted to keep wrestling and keep showing his value because the thing about wrestling is you’re only as valuable as the last show you can make it to.

Once, you can’t make it, you’re not as valuable to that company. I wanted to extend his career as long as I possibly could and I knew I could by taking a little of the damage and the brunt of the match.”

Matt Riddle Says WWE Creative Originally Laughed At The Idea Of RK Bro

We Could Probably Have A Crazy Run: Matt Riddle

Orton isn’t the only wrestling legend Matt Riddle has a good relationship with. Having first met RVD at a cannabis party hosted in the Playboy mansion in 2008, Riddle’s acquaintance with Mr. Monday Night predates his friendship with the 14-time world champion.

RVD has been on a part-time schedule since his last run with WWE ended in 2014 and Riddle believes that he can help extend the career of the former ECW champion:

“I think kind of what I did for Randy, I could kind of do for Rob, if he wanted to, we could probably have a crazy run as a tag team.”

Riddle previously stepped in the ring with RVD during an indie show in March this year. They teamed up to defeat America’s Most Wanted. The duo then had a singles match which ended in no contest.

The two have a partnership outside of the ring as well. They are working on an RV-Bro glass pipe line among other things.

Randy Orton and MGK’s Heated Exchange: WWE Star Fires Back After Rapper’s Bold Claims

Randy Orton recently responded to comments made by Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) about an alleged incident between the two at WWE SummerSlam 2024. The exchange has since sparked a buzz among WWE and MGK fans alike.

MGK’s Allegation on “Impaulsive”

MGK appeared on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast where he shared details about a supposed altercation with Randy Orton during SummerSlam 2024.

According to MGK, he was in the ring discussing plans with Logan Paul when he noticed Randy Orton making derogatory remarks about him. MGK recounted, “I saw Randy Orton talk st about me… I was like, ‘I’m going to practice a new version of myself. Three…two…one. Fk that. Ay man, f**k you.’ All my boys were sitting there [stunned]. ‘Is this real? I don’t know what’s happening.’”

Randy Orton’s Cryptic Response

Following MGK’s comments, Randy Orton took to Twitter to respond. In a cryptic post, Orton simply tweeted an eyes” and lying emoji directed at MGK, hinting at his skepticism about the rapper’s account of the incident. The tweet quickly went viral, adding more fuel to the fire of this developing feud.

MGK Claps Back

Not one to remain silent, MGK responded with a tweet of his own, “You have my number, and you know why you have it btw but I won’t even put you on blast for that. Check your texts.”

He further challenged WWE to release footage of the alleged incident, stating, “Cameras were rolling, tell WWE to put that out.”

What’s Next in the Feud?

While it’s still unclear whether this exchange is part of a larger WWE storyline or a genuine personal dispute, the back-and-forth has certainly captured the attention of fans.

With both Orton and MGK being known for their outspoken personalities, the possibility of this feud escalating remains pretty high.

Machine Gun Kelly Reveals SummerSlam Confrontation with Randy Orton

Machine Gun Kelly had some choice words for Randy Orton, and made his views perfectly clear about the Viper at WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland. For the August PLE, Kelly accompanied Logan Paul for his U.S. title match that saw the Maverick lose the gold to current champion LA Knight. Speaking on Paul’s ImPaulsive podcast, Kelly recalled seeing Orton backstage at the event.

“I saw Randy Orton, and I remember seeing Randy Orton talk s*** about me. And there’s a point where I’m going to practice a new version of myself. 3-2-1, I’m like ‘F*** that! Hey man, f*** you!’ I don’t know where you [Paul] were but all my boys were ‘Is this real? Is this part of the script?’ The amount of people that pinned me as the aggressor in every situation I’m in are so wrong.”

Orton didn’t compete at SummerSlam, but appeared on the following episode of Monday Night RAW where he confronted GUNTHER. Orton will challenge the WWE World Heavyweight Champion this Saturday at the first WWE Bash In Berlin PLE.

Machine Gun Kelly in WWE

Machine Gun Kelly is no stranger to appearing in WWE. In 2015, Kelly performed on WWE RAW, but ate a powerbomb on the stage by Kevin Owen for his troubles. Despite doing nothing to rile up the crowd other than perform his music, the fans cheered when Owens delivered the move and gave the former Universal Champion a ‘Thank You Owens’ chant.

Kelly also appeared at the December 4, 2017 edition of Monday Night RAW and would appear again that same month as part of Tribute to the Troops. In 2022, MGK served as the Executive Producer of the soundtrack for the WWE 2K22 video game. He would be included as a playable character in the game.

Randy Orton Wants Final Match with John Cena “Maybe at WrestleMania”

Randy Orton would love to step in the ring with John Cena one final time before the 16-time WWE World Champion hangs up his jorts for good. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Orton addressed whether he will be part of Cena’s retirement tour.

“I have spoken with him…  I would love to wrestle John. But as far as pushing for that match, that’s never been my style.”

Pushing for the match isn’t Orton’s ‘style’ but will come down to Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and his creative team. Fortunately for Orton, having the Game in charge bodes well.

“He [Triple H] is listening to the crowd. He knows where everything needs to end up… And if the fans want John Cena and Randy Orton to face each other at some point, maybe even at Wrestlemania, then this is their last chance.”

Orton encouraged fans who want the match to happen to let their voices be heard on social media and at WWE events. Orton ended by reiterating that if fans really want one final showdown between himself and Cena, then he is confident it’ll happen.

John Cena Vs. Randy Orton

John Cena Vs. Randy Orton was a feud that defined an era in WWE, with both men often competing in pay-per-view main events with World Championships on the line. The pair’s first encounter would come in developmental in July 2001, a year before either man would be on the main roster. That OVW show saw Cena (then Prototype) and Rico Constantino defeat Orton & Bobby Eaton, though Orton got the win in their first singles match the next month.

Cena and Orton last shared the ring in singles action on the July 2, 2017 edition of SmackDown in a match that Cena would win. With Hell in a Cell, Iron Man, and Street Fights in their past, fans are eager to see what the pair would do in their final encounter.

Get In Line

Orton is itching for a chance to face John Cena on his retirement tour, but he is by no means the only ghost from Big Match John’s past CM Punk hopes to team with John before the latter calls it a career while The Miz is hoping to get one last match with Cena after previously headlining WrestleMania 27 in 2011. RVD, who faced Cena at ECW One Night Stand 2006, is also ready for a rematch with the WWE icon.

There’s no shortage of talent who are ready to face Cena for the first time. Matt Cardona has thrown his name in the hat after previously sharing the screen with John in 2012. WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker is ready to defend his title against Cena next year. The title in question is one of the few accolades John has not obtained in WWE and the only title Cena needs to complete the Grand Slam.

Watch: What Happened With Randy Orton And Gunther After Abrupt End To (8/19) RAW

Randy Orton delivered an RKO to the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther after this week’s episode of Raw from Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida went off air.

The Viper faced Ludwig Kaiser in the main event of the Red Branded Show. The Ring General was not present at the ringside but he later made his way through the crowd to distract Orton. This allowed Kaiser to gain the upper hand momentarily.

Randy, however, showed why he is a 14-time world champion. In the end he dropped Ludwig Kaiser on the announce table multiple times and won the match after hitting an RKO for the pin.

Gunther entered the ring after the bout to try and take out Orton but the Legend Killer didn’t let him dominate for too long. The feed cut off right as Randy poked the World Champion in the eye.

A fan made video from the arena shows that Randy Orton successfully delivered an RKO to Gunther after the show went off air. WWE has also posted a video of Orton posing with the world title dropped by Gunther at the end of the segment, before returning the belt to its owner:

WWE Bash In Berlin

Randy Orton will get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at the Bash In Berlin special from Uber Arena on Saturday, August 31.

Though this won’t be the only interesting match for the show. Last week’s episode of Raw saw CM Punk brutally assaulting Drew McIntyre when he tried to confront Gunther.

McIntyre and Punk had a confrontation on this week’s episode of the show after the segment. The Straight Edge Star challenged the Scottish Psychopath to a stipulation match and the latter accepted. You can check out the details of the bout here.

GUNTHER: ‘Randy Orton Is Great, Despite Wasting A Lot of Potential’

WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER has delivered some choice words for Randy Orton ahead of their collision in Berlin, Germany. Speaking to Jim Varsalone, GUNTHER spoke about the 14-time WWE World Champion and his wasted potential.

“Randy’s career is undeniable. But on the other hand, we’ve got to be honest here, he was destined to be the greatest of all time, and with all the bad decisions he made in his career and all the issues he had he still is one of the greatest. But he wasted a lot of potential and I’m not in the business of wasting potential.”

GUNTHER didn’t stop there, adding that he has exceeded expectations, while he believes the opposite is true of WWE’s Apex Predator. The two will collide at WWE Bash in Berlin on August 31. The match will be GUNTHER’s first PLE title defense as World Heavyweight Champion while Orton hopes to break an unfortunate 40-month streak at PLEs.

Randy Orton’s Bad Decisions

While he has mellowed out considerably in recent years, Orton did make plenty of bad decisions early into his wrestling career. Orton reportedly pushed Amy Weber over during a flight, after she took some ibuprofen from the men’s locker-room when dealing with an injury. This incident, among others, would result in Weber leaving WWE in 2005.

Weber is not the only woman to have spoken up about Orton’s conduct. Maria Kanellis-Bennett claimed during her shoot interview with Kayfabe Commentaries that Orton shot fireworks from his car at the vehicle containing Maria and others. It has been claimed online for years that Orton defecated in the bag of former WWE Diva Rochelle Loewen, though she has since clarified that he defaced her bag with tanning lotion and baby oil, seemingly payback for Loewen not knowing who he was when she joined WWE.

The Viper’s off-screen outbursts would result in him being sent to an anger management course in Atlanta in 2006. Despite the four-week course, Orton was sent home from a European tour a year later after causing $50,000 worth of damage to a hotel room.

Orton has faced multiple Wellness Policy suspensions, though was brought back early from a suspension in 2006 so he could feud with Kurt Angle. In August 2007, Orton was named among eleven Superstars caught up in the Signature Pharmacy scandal who had purchased performance-enhancing drugs. The Legend Killer was not suspended and would capture the WWE Championship on two occasions mere months later.

On a December 2023 edition of the ImPaulsive podcast, Orton said he was an “a**hole” during the formative years of his career, saying that his poor behavior was “armor” as he wanted others to respect him. Orton added on the podcast that he was given second, third, and fourth chances by Vince McMahon.

Randy Orton Confirms He Has Signed A New Contract With WWE

Randy Orton will be sticking with WWE for a long time to come after signing a new deal with the Sports Entertainment juggernaut. Speaking with MARCA, Orton confirmed previous reports that he had inked a new deal.

“I’m going to keep doing this for a long time. I just signed a five-year contract extension and I don’t have to rush it . I’ve got all the time in the world as far as I’m concerned. I feel great. I feel healthy.”

Fightful Select was the first to report that Orton has signed a new five-year deal that will keep the former World Champion with the promotion until late 2029. This news comes less than a year after Orton returned to WWE action last November after 18 months on the shelf due to a severe back injury.

A higher-up was asked by Fightful why WWE signed Orton to a new deal instead of extend his precious contract due to injury time. The source said that “the guaranteed money associated with contracts now is a drastic shift from what it was in 2019. There have been changes to our live event schedule, touring, international dates, media obligations, merchandise and social media that would be much more fair to just reach a new deal in many situations.”

Orton’s previous five-year contract was signed in 2019 and was set to expire later this year, the report states. Although Orton flirted with joining AEW before signing his previous contract, it is reported that this time, the former World Champion did not explore opportunities with WWE’s chief rival.

Re-signing Randy Orton is a huge win for WWE and marks another major name locked into a contract. Drew McIntyre signed a new contract with WWE earlier this year despite speculation that he’d be joining AEW. Orton will challenge World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER at WWE Bash in Berlin and will be part of tonight’s edition of WWE RAW from Austin, Texas.
