  • Cena Talks About Orton’s Injury, Batista Leaving WWE, HBK

WWE champion John Cena posted a few messages on his Twitter page (Twitter.com/WWEJCena) this morning regarding Randy Orton’s shoulder injury, Batista “quitting” WWE, and Shawn Michaels’s retirement. Here’s what Cena said about:

Randy Orton’s Injury: “I do not know Randy Orton’s condition so I really don’t want to speak on his behalf although I do hope he is well. I have said it time and time again about him, he is one of the best I’ve ever seen.”

Batista “Quitting” WWE: “As for Batista, I never know how permanent ‘quitting’ really is. The only two I’ve seen quit, and truly not come back yet are JBL and HBK.”

After a number of fans jumped on Cena’s remark that Shawn Michaels “quit” WWE, Cena clarified his comment by saying, “Sorry, outpouring of tweets are correct. HBK did retire, which isn’t as angry as quitting.”

  • JR Blog: Orton’s Injury, Punk Gets Staples In His Head & More

Here are some highlights from what Jim Ross said in his latest blog at JRsBarBQ.com:

Randy Orton’s Injury: “Randy Orton’s apparent shoulder injury, I can’t be sure if it is a shoulder or the seriousness of the injury, really had a profound affect on the PPV. The Orton-Edge match ended as best it could by most standards. Orton, obvious and excruciating pain gutted it out to his credit. After this match the show seemed to valley somewhat until the final bout.

“If, big if, it is Randy’s shoulder, it won’t be the first time that RKO has suffered shoulder issues. Officials will know more Monday regarding Randy’s status. Hopefully this will be a deal where Orton’s off for only a brief period of time and won’t require any surgery to tighten up the shoulder. OU, now Minnesota Viking running back, Adrian Peterson had the same issues his freshman year at Oklahoma but surgery took care of his issues and he did not miss that much time…

“I sure hope that Randy Orton is going to be O.K. as losing him especially hurts. Randy hit me with a text late Sunday night and he’s not even sure what the verdict will be until tomorrow. Raw is going to be an especially compelling, two hours of live TV Monday night.”

CM Punk Getting Staples In His Head: “C.M. Punk got 13-15 staples in his head as a result of his hair raising and hair losing match to Rey Mysterio. This match essentially had to be restarted after Punk got busted open and needed medical care and restart it did! Punk resembled the Dynamite Kid and took his offense to a complete another gear. Very impressive stuff. Joey Styles Twittered that Rey gave Punk the Hulk Hogan haircut. That was just downright mean from ‘Stocky Balboa.’”

His Professional Future: “Regarding the never ending tale, my own going business saga, I feel comfortable in saying that we honestly hope to have some definitive news regarding our next, professional chapter later this week. It’s nice to have options and the time to make an educated and timely decision. I am motivated to get this business behind me especially for my dear wife’s sanity. I’m personally past helping but I can’t or won’t continue to run her through the mill with the phone calls, etc that seemingly never stop.”

The movie is about a guy being released from prison (presumably Batista) who is trying to get his life in order with fate, friends and enemies getting in his way.

    – WWE began filming the movie “Big Red” in New Orleans this week. It stars actors Ed Harris and Amy Madigan with RAW’s Randy Orton. The movie is based in the mid 1960’s and focuses on a smart 12-year-old boy whose teacher makes him work with a social outcast on a project and the outcast has an incident with a bully at school. Orton will star as the father of the bully who tries to get Harris fired him his job as teacher. Madigan will play the school’s principal. Big Red is an example of a new strategy being employed by WWE Studios, which is to cast big name Hollywood actors in their films and use WWE superstars as supporting characters.

  • Randy Orton Responds To Allegations He Assaulted A Fan

Earlier this month a 15-year-old WWE fan accused Randy Orton of assault after Orton allegedly spit gum in his face and swore at him outside a restaurant in Boston, Mass. The fan claims he asked Orton for a picture when the WWE superstar got hostile and “assaulted” him.

Orton posted a message on his website explaining his side of the story:

“Here’s what happened: I walked out of Kowloon’s Friday night around 12:30-1 a.m. with Santino and a police officer escort. As I was being rudely hounded for pictures and autos (I had a 6:40 a.m. flight through Minni to Lincoln, then a drive to Omaha, a match, a drive back to Omaha, then a charter to Minni, and a driver to Rochester for the next show the next day, btw), I was confronted by an older women who said: ‘Hey Randy, you spit on my handicapped son a few years ago at a show, what do you have to say about that?’ My replay…`So Sue me.’

Then I proceeded to my car, with Santino and the cop and drove back to our hotel by the Boston airport. I know I have been a bit of a hothead in the past, but I DID NOT spit gum and call names to any child. The women is claiming I called her son a `retard’ 3 times, and spit gum in his face. Come on people, even at my worst temperament, I would never call a handicapped child something awful like that. I’ll actually sign anything for any child with any disability.

I heard just today from WWE attorneys that this women filed assault charges against me 4 days later? Hmmm, oh, and what about the dozens of cops at the restaurant that were there for crowd control since there were over 100 wrestling fans there? Not to mention the cop that escorted me to my freaking car. I’ll be happy when this is over. I guess if I’ve learned anything from this, it is not to ever challenge anyone to sue me.”

  • Randy Orton Accused Of Assaulting 15-Year Old Fan

A 15-year-old male is accusing WWE superstar Randy Orton of assault for allegedly spitting gum in his face and swearing at him outside the Kowloon Restaurant in Boston, Mass. after asking the WWE Superstar to pose with him for a photo last Friday night.

After Orton allegedly spit gum in the 15-year-old’s face and called him a “derogatory name,” the juvenile’s mother confronted him, who allegedly told her, “so sue me” when she voiced her protest.

A report was filed with local police, who say a hearing has been requested for Orton to face charges of simple assault and battery. A clerk magistrate will determine if the incident warrants a criminal complaint.

While the article states that the incident took place yesterday, it should be noted that WWE was actually in the Boston area last Friday for a live Raw event.

Kowloon is a frequent stop for wrestlers and other athletes who perform in the Boston area.
