MJF To Defend AEW American Title in ‘Third-World Country’ UK Next Month

AEW American Champion MJF will be in for a hostile reaction when he defends the star-spangled strap next month in the United Kingdom. On Twitter, MJF shared that he will defend the title at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Summer Sizzler event against Michael Oku. The show will take place at York Hall in London, England on August 11.

MJF didn’t hold back in his announcement that was aired at Rev Pro’s Live in Coventry event. Michael Oku has MJF’s “undying hatred” given that Oku has the respect of Will Ospreay. The AEW star added that the UK is a “third-world country” a well as the “worst country in the world.” Channeling the spirit of the Boston Tea Party (an event from December 1773 that MJF claimed he remembers,) the AEW mainstay made clear he would fight the British and did not care about being disrespectful.

MJF introduced the American Championship as a replacement for the AEW International Title he won from Will Ospreay during Dynamite: 250. In addition to being as patriotic as it gets, the title includes a dig at the UK with one side plate reading “Better than Will [Ospreay] and the UK knows it.” After their hour-long war on Dynamite, Ospreay and MJF will face off again at AEW All In: London 2024 next month.

Although MJF isn’t interested in being kind to the UK, the UK has been kind to the reigning AEW American Champion. MJF has competed six times in the UK, according to Profight data, and boasts a respected 4-2 win/loss record. Both of MJF’s last two matches in the UK came at All In: London 2023 and saw him win the ROH World Tag Titles with Adam Cole and retain the AEW World Championship against Cole.

Orange Cassidy Shocks Fans With Surprise AEW International Title Defense At RevPro Event

Fans who attended the most recent Revolution Pro Wrestling event received a huge surprise in the form of reigning AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy.

Cassidy was part of a multi-man scramble match that saw the International title on the line at the company’s High Stakes show.  He defended the gold against Sha Samuels, Spike Trivet, Richard Holliday, Cameron Khai, and TNA Wrestling’s Flash Morgan Webster. On Twitter, Rev Pro shared the moment Cassidy made his entrance and the electric response he received from the fans.

In a tweet of his own, Webster shared his delight at challenging for the AEW International Championship and believes it is a strong start to what will be an epic 2024.

While Cassidy’s appearance at the show was a surprise, it was no secret that the Freshly Squeezed wrestler was overseas in the United Kingdom. Cassidy, alongside AEW World Tag Team Champion Darby Allin, was seen with AEW President Tony Khan at a Fulham FC soccer game. Unfortunately for the AEW trio, Fulham lost 2-1 to Aston Villa.

Orange Cassidy in AEW

Cassidy is in his record-setting second reign as the AEW International Champion. His first reign with the title is the longest in the title’s history. Cassidy also holds the record for the most successful title defenses in AEW. Outside of singles competition, Cassidy is part of the Best Friends stable alongside Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, and Kris Statlander. Cassidy made his debut for AEW at their inaugural Double or Nothing event in 2019 and would sign with the promotion that same year.

Will Ospreay teases new members of United Empire Faction

IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay has teased that there will potentially be more members added to his United Empire stable.

The Revolution Pro Heavyweight Champion appeared on a card today in London for the promotion, teaming with the tag team of the Young Guns to take on Sunshine Machine and Ricky Knight Jr.

“These Young Guns better be the real deal,” Will Ospreay wrote on social media ahead of the match. “They have an opportunity to join me and the UE if they impress enough. Today at the 229 Next Week, York Hall!!!”

Will Ospreay on Young Guns

It has not been confirmed if Ethan Allen and Luke Jacobs of Young Guns and NorthWest Strong will be joining the United Empire, or if they will be making their way to New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Young Guns are regarded as one of the best up and coming tag teams on the British scene, with the duo having appeared for Rev Pro as well as Futureshock and PROGRESS Wrestling on Peacock and WWE Network.

Ospreay is due to return to the United States shortly for NJPW STRONG tapings ahead of a potential return to Japan for a unification bout against Shingo Takagi to crown the ‘true’ IWGP World Champion.

That match will hopefully be taking place at Wrestle Kingdom in January, which is set to be a three-day event for the first time in New Japan Pro Wrestling history.

Rev Pro Announces Show In Manchester feat. Los Ingobernables

Revolution Pro Wrestling (Rev Pro) has announced a show in Manchester, England for later this year. The company will be hitting the Victoria Warehouse on June 29th.

Little has been released about the show except that Los Ingobernables will be involved in some capacity. Rev Pro and New Japan Pro Wrestling have an ongoing working relationship so there’s a good chance that NJPW’s biggest stars could be involved. This could hopefully include Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, EVIL, BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi and Shingo Takagi from the Los Ingobernables faction.

Rev Pro recently held a big event during WrestleMania weekend. Several of New Japan’s stars such as Will Ospreay and Hiroshi Tanahashi appeared at the event. Former WWE Superstar and current Dragon Gate performer PAC was due to appear at the show but had to miss it due to visa issues.

Check out the tweet below for more information on Rev Pro’s upcoming show in Manchester, including how to get advance tickets:

PAC Announced for Rev Pro in Southampton (04/14)

Dragon Gate and UK independent star PAC has been announced for an upcoming Rev Pro event. The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion will be joining the company on April 14th for their Southampton show.

PAC was originally scheduled to join the company on WrestleMania weekend. The Geordie star was booked to tag alongside Will Ospreay to take on CCK’s Chris Brookes and Jon Gresham. Rev Pro had to pull PAC from the event for undisclosed reasons, forcing a change. That match will now see Ospreay teaming with Hiroshi Tanahashi to take on Suzuki-gun’s Zack Sabre Jr and Minoru Suzuki.

PAC will be back in action for Rev Pro in Southampton against Paul Robinson. Robinson is Will Ospreay’s longtime tag team partner in the ‘Swords of Essex.’ The two men are currently the PROGRESS Wrestling Tag Team Champions and this bout should be an intriguing pairing.

Tanahashi and Ospreay Teaming for WrestleMania Weekend. PAC No Longer At Event

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) Wrestling has announced a big tag match for their WrestleCon event in April. Will Ospreay and Hiroshi Tanahashi will be teaming to take on Zack Sabre Jr and Minoru Suzuki.

The show will be taking place on Friday April 5th from the Hilton New York Midtown Ballroom. Already announced for the show are Tomohiro Ishii and CCK (Chris Brookes and Jon Gresham).

Ospreay and PAC were originally scheduled to take on Brookes and Gresham. The two men had an incredible time limit draw at the recent High Stakes 2019 event in York Hall, Bethnal Green. Brookes and Gresham interfered during the bout which has lead to this match. There were originally rumors that Ospreay would be facing PAC as a way to give Rev Pro one of the ‘best’ in ring bouts of WrestleMania weekend. Unfortunately PAC had to be removed from the event for undisclosed reasons. Hiroshi Tanahashi is quite the replacement for the show.

Ticket information for the show can be found here.

Roppongi 3K Announced For Rev Pro WrestleMania Weekend

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) Wrestling has announced a big tag match for their WrestleCon event in April. Sho and Yoh of Roppongi 3K will be taking on Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis).

The show will be taking place on Friday April 5th from the Hilton New York Midtown Ballroom. Already announced for the show are Will Ospreay, PAC, Tomohiro Ishii and CCK (Chris Brookes and Jon Gresham).

Ospreay and PAC will be teaming to take on Brookes and Gresham.

New Japan Stars Announced For Rev Pro Epic Encounter 2019

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) Wrestling has announced two top New Japan Pro Wrestling stars for their upcoming Epic Encounter 2019 event. The show will be taking place on Friday May 10th from York Hall in Bethnal Green, London.

Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis) will be taking on the British Tag Team Champions in one of the feature bouts of the night. Suzuki-gun’s Zack Sabre Jr and Minoru Suzuki are the current reigning and defending champions for this bout. Aussie Open are one of the top teams currently touring the UK independent scene, having performed on cards for PROGRESS, DEFIANT and of course Rev Pro. Zack Sabre Jr recently fought Tomohiro Ishii for the company’s British Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom in January.

David Starr vs El Phantasmo has also been announced for Epic Encounter. Starr is one of the more underrated talents on the UK/European scene, he is currently a free agent. The likes of AEW, NJPW and ROH are likely to start taking notice with his recent performances across the globe. Starr is also scheduled to be taking part in the wXw 16 Carat Gold tournament in Germany this weekend. El Phantasmo has also been prominent for Rev Pro over the past year having won the British J Cup at Wrestling Media Con in 2018.

Rev Pro Live At The Cockpit (03/03) Full Card

Revolution Pro Wrestling (Rev Pro) will be heading back to the Cockpit in London this weekend. The card is already stacking up to be stellar and will be headlined by a rematch of a European classic. The show will be taking place on March 3rd and the show is now completely sold out. The show however will be airing live for Free on Rev Pro’s On Demand service so it is well worth checking out.

Zack Sabre Jr will be taking on Spain’s A-Kid. Their original match gained critical acclaim by the Wrestling Observer and was given a 5 Star rating. That match took place in A-Kid’s native Spain and now ZSJ has the opportunity to impress fans in his home country.

CCK’s Chris Brookes will also be on hand for the show. The popular free agent star will be taking on Darius Lockhart in singles action. Top European scene performer David Starr will also be taking part this Sunday. The ‘Jewish Cannon’ will be taking on Carlos Romo in a singles bout.

Will Ospreay and PAC Teaming For WrestleMania Weekend

Earlier this month saw Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) Wrestling present their High Stakes 2019 event. The show took place from the world famous York Hall in Bethnal Green, London.

The main event featured an independent dream match with NEVER Openweight Champion Will Ospreay facing Dragon Gate star PAC. The match featured a run in from CCK’s Chris Brookes and Jon Gresham. The bout ended in a time limit draw, with the contest going the allocated 30 minutes.

PAC took to the top rope and counted along with the fans in the final seconds, opting not to hit his Black Arrow finishing move. The contest was a critical hit with fans in attendance but many were questioning the finish, blaming ‘politics’ between New Japan and Dragon Gate.

Rev Pro has now announced that Ospreay and PAC will be teaming to take on CCK. The company will be heading to the Hilton New York Midtown Ballroom this WrestleMania weekend on Friday 5th April. Tickets for the show are available to purchase now.

There were rumors that Ospreay and PAC would be involved at the New York showing following their time limit draw. Initial reports indicated that it would be another singles match however CCK’s involvement in the original bout makes much more sense.

Will Ospreay Teases Rematch With PAC

This past weekend saw Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) Wrestling present their High Stakes 2019 event.

Potential ‘politics’ aside, Ospreay took to Twitter to essentially confirm that this is just the beginning of the feud. The ‘Aerial Assassin’ tweeted a mid-match image of the two men and wrote “Chapter 1.” Whilst there’s no confirmation of where the second match could be taking place there’s a very good chance that the WrestleMania weekend show for Rev Pro could see the two high-flying stars go at it once again.

High Stakes 2019 is now available to view online via Rev Pro’s official On Demand service. If you sign up now you can view the entire event for free with a 7-day trial.

Rev Pro High Stakes 2019 (02/15) Full Card

Revolution Pro Wrestling (Rev Pro) will be presenting their long awaited High Stakes 2019 event later this week. The company sold out tickets for the show based on one match alone, Will Ospreay vs PAC. The company’s High Stakes 2019 event takes place from the world famous York Hall in London.

Since the announcement UK fans have been anticipating this dream match. Ever since PAC (formerly Neville) left WWE Ospreay has made his intentions to face the high flying star clear.

When the match was finally announced for Rev Pro Ospreay took to Twitter and stated “If I have learnt anything from Rev Pro booking what is being titled a “genuine dream match” is that this is a symbol to show even though some guys in the UK are being locked down in where they can compete, our country can thrive without being part of the system.”

Here’s the full card for High Stakes 2019 this Friday (02/15):

  • Main Event: Will Ospreay vs PAC
  • Aussie Open vs CCK (Chris Brookes and Jon Gresham)
  • Rev Pro Women’s Championship – Zoe Lucas (c) vs Bea Priestley

  • Mk McKinnan vs Chris Ridgeway
  • El Phantasmo vs MJF
  • Josh Bodom vs El Phantasmo

Rev Pro High Stakes 2019 feat. Ospreay vs PAC Takes Place This Friday

Ospreay has been vocal regarding the recent NXT UK Superstar contract changes. The ‘Aerial Assassin’ is one of the few UK stars signed to NJPW alongside Marty Scurll and Zack Sabre Jr. This bout shows that there are opportunities for promotions outside of the ‘WWE bubble’ to thrive on the UK scene.

The match will be available to view on demand over the weekend.

Will Ospreay Reveals Details Over Recent Injury

Current New Japan Pro Wrestling NEVER Openweight champion, Will Ospreay, has shared that he has recently sustained an injury. This occurred during a Revolution Pro Wrestling (Rev Pro) event in Bristol, England.

Thankfully, however, the injury isn’t a major one — though still frustrating enough for Ospreay to tweet about via social media.

Somehow, “The Sky King” managed to break his toe whilst taking an arm drag.

“I broke my toe taking an arm drag. I think God is f***ing with me”

He would follow up with a further update, highlighting that the “Bruising is coming out….as well as the bone not being in the right place”.

https://twitter.com/WillOspreay/status/1089641449669488642

This injury hasn’t stymied his enthusiasm over his upcoming match against PAC. The two will clash in a matchup for Rev Pro’s High Stakes 2019 show, which takes place on Friday, February 15th in York Hall, Bethnal Green, London.

A toe injury, though not as serious as others that could be suffered, could still have an effect on Ospreay’s mobility, possibly forcing him to modify his arsenal against the wrestler formerly known as Neville. Despite this, Ospreay promises that “9 toes or 10 I’m gunna be at York Hall”.

Will you be in attendance for this epic clash? Who do you think will come out on top, Ospreay or PAC?

Zack Sabre Jr Wins Rev Pro Title at Wrestle Kingdom 13

New Japan’s annual Tokyo Dome show is now underway. The stacked card could end up being one of NJPW’s best ever and we’ve got the results as and when they happen.

Zack took the win after locking Ishii in a double octopus arm stretch and the referee Chris Roberts called for the bell. Ishii initially stopped ZSJ’s original run with the belt so Zack finally got his revenge here.

PAC vs Chris Brookes Announced for Rev Pro

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) has announced a big match for their upcoming show in Northampton. Dragon Gate star PAC will be taking on CCK’s Chris Brookes. Both men are two of the top free agent talents on the planet right now. Brookes was heavily touted with a move to WWE earlier this year. Rev Pro event mentioned in a promotional tweet saying “what could well be his last match in a RevPro Ring” back in June. The Calamari Catch King opted to remain on the UK independent scene. He also seemingly shunned the WoS brand in the process.

In other PAC news Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) also announced that ‘The King’ will be heading to Bethnal Green in February. The company’s ‘High Stakes 2019’ event takes place on February 15th from the world famous York Hall in London. PAC will be facing Will Ospreay as part of the event. Tickets for the show sold out in record time with just the one match being announced.

This comes after Rev Pro announced that PAC would be facing Zack Sabre Jr in 2019. The former WWE Superstar will be heading to ‘Live at The Cockpit’ at The Cockpit Theatre in London on January 6th. PAC recently appeared for Rev Pro at their Portsmouth show, where he faced Mike Bailey.

NJPW Hype Rev Pro Title Match at Wrestle Kingdom

We’re just weeks away from New Japan’s biggest event. Wrestle Kingdom 13 will be taking place January 4th from the iconic Tokyo Dome. One of the more under the radar but possible show stealing bouts will see Zack Sabre Jr take on Tomohiro Ishii.

The match will be contested for Ishii’s Rev Pro British Heavyweight Championship. Ishii recently defended his title against David Starr at the Rev Pro Uprising event. Zack Sabre Jr and his fellow Suzuki-gun stablemates appeared after the match. Minoru Suzuki and ZSJ attacked Ishii and Zack announced that he wanted his rematch. ZSJ only wanted a bout for the British Championship at New Japan’s biggest event.

NJPW recently released a new edition of their YouTube programme The Wire. The episode features the Rev Pro Title bout and chronicles the journey that both have taken to get to this bout. Ironically both Ishii and ZSJ are two of the most underrated talents in New Japan, their bout could easily be seen as a dark horse for showstealer on January 4th.

Will Ospreay vs PAC Sells Out in Record Time, Ospreay Reacts on Twitter

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) recently announced that Will Ospreay will be taking on PAC as part of their High Stakes event in 2019. The pre-sale tickets for the show went on sale December 3rd and they have sold out in lightning quick fashion. Rev Pro confirmed that it was “Officially [the] fastest York Hall sell out ever.

Since PAC left WWE Ospreay has been begging to be put up against the former Cruiserweight Champion. This bout is being billed as a ‘dream’ match between two of the best athletes on the planet. Ospreay took to Twitter earlier today and commented on the quick sellout. If I have learnt anything from Rev Pro booking what is being titled a “genuine dream match” is that this is a symbol to show even though some guys in the UK are being locked down in where they can compete, our country can thrive without being part of the system.”

Tomohiro Ishii Announced for Rev Pro on WrestleMania Weekend

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) has announced the first star for their upcoming WrestleMania weekend event. Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii will be appearing at the Hilton in New York on Friday April 5th.

Ishii recently successfully defended his title against David Starr. The match took place at the Uprising 2018 event back in October. Tomohiro will also be defending his title against Zack Sabre Jr when New Japan presents Wrestle Kingdom from the Tokyo Dome on January 4th.

Revolution Pro’s World of Pro Wrestling show is still available to watch on Friday nights in the UK. The UK based company will be using the FreesportsUK channel as the home for their new TV show going forward.

You can check out the exclusive interview we conducted with Rev Pro owner Andy Quildan here. When we discussed the timing of the new show Andy confirmed that “WoS had no impact on our decision. In all honesty whilst I watch as much product as possible from WWE, ROH, NJPW, CMLL to all the indies here in the UK, aside from learning best (or at times worst) practice I try not to let what others are doing dictate the way I choose to run my business.”

PAC Announced for Rev Pro High Stakes 2019

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) has announced that PAC will be heading to Bethnal Green in February. The company’s ‘High Stakes 2019’ event takes place on February 15th from the world famous York Hall in London.

This comes after Rev Pro announced that PAC would be facing Zack Sabre Jr in 2019. The former WWE Superstar will be heading to ‘Live at The Cockpit’ at The Cockpit Theatre in London on January 6th. PAC recently appeared for Rev Pro at their recent Portsmouth show, where he faced Mike Bailey.

In other PAC news Dragon Gate announced a huge Championship match for their December 4th show in Korakuen Hall. The former PAC/Neville will be facing Masato Yoshino. The bout will be contested for Yoshino’s Open The Dream Gate Championship.

PAC recently took part in his first singles match since leaving WWE. The former Neville faced Flamita in an International Special Singles Match for Dragon Gate’s ‘The Gate of Destiny’ event (11/04). PAC took the win after hitting his renamed ‘Black Arrow’ in around 18 minutes. You can check out some of the highlights from the incredible bout here

Rev Pro Uprising (11/09) Full Card

Revolution Pro Wrestling will be presenting their Uprising 2018 event from the world famous York Hall. The Bethnal Green show will feature some huge international bouts with the headline spot going to Tomohiro Ishii and David Starr. Starr challenged Ishii to the bout and Rev Pro granted his wish. If Starr wins this bout he will be a two weight Champion in the company.

Here’s the full card for tonight:

  • Rev Pro British Heavyweight Championship Match – Tomohiro Ishii (c) vs David Starr
  • Rev Pro British Tag Team Championship – Zack Sabre Jr and Minoru Suzuki (c) vs Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher)
  • Josh Bodom vs Chris Ridgeway
  • Taichi vs Chris Brookes
  • MK McKinnan vs ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey
  • Satoshi Kojima vs WALTER
  • El Desperado vs El Phantasmo

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) also debuted on FreeSportsUK recently. The UK based company will be using the nationwide channel as the home for their new TV show going forward.

PAC/Neville Announced for Top UK Promotion

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) has announced that PAC will be returning to the promotion. The former WWE Cruiserweight Champion will be appearing at the Portsmouth Guildhall on November 22nd. Tickets for the show are available to purchase via Rev Pro’s official website here.

The company has not yet announced PAC’s opponent for the show. The Portsmouth shows for Rev Pro are big events but not on the level of their York Hall extravaganzas. It is likely that PAC will be in a top feature match but not on the level that you would expect at a venue like York Hall. With Rev Pro’s New Japan links it would be ideal for PAC to take on one of the top NJPW stars but it is more likely that he faces a Rev Pro ‘homegrown’ talent such as El Phantasmo or Josh Bodom.

In other PAC/Neville related news Japan’s Dragon Gate promotion recently confirmed their new streaming service which featured PAC in a short promo package hyping the new over the top service alongside his RED stablemates. Fans will be able watch live/past shows for just over $13 a month. PAC made his return to the company earlier this year after leaving WWE’s 205 Live brand.

Ireland’s Over The Top Wrestling (OTT) promotion has also announced a huge return for PAC. The company has not confirmed what date the high flying superstar will return but have confirmed that it will NOT be in November.

Rev Pro ‘World of Pro Wrestling’ Episode 2 Results

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) debuted on FreeSportsUK just over a week ago on Friday 19th. The UK based company will be using the nationwide channel as the home for their new TV show going forward. FreeSportsUK made the announcement back in August via Twitter where the channel announced that the show initially would be airing “later in September.”

Here’s the results of Episode 2:

  • Colt Cabana b. Greg Burridge
  • Roppongi 3k (SHO and YOH) b. HxC (Dan Head and James Castle)
  • Chris Brookes b. El Phantasmo – Brookes took the win after a distraction by his CCK stablemate Jonathan Gresham

You may remember FreeSports as the channel that hosted the ill-fated 5 Star Wrestling earlier this year. Rev Pro is an extremely well established promotion comparatively and will relish the opportunity to be available in UK homes.

Tomohiro Ishii vs David Starr Announced for Rev Pro Uprising 2018

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) has announced the second bout for their Uprising 2018 event. The British Heavyweight Championship will be on the line at Bethnal Green’s York Hall.

Tomohiro Ishii will be defending against David Starr. Starr issued a challenge via Twitter earlier this week and Rev Pro management have honoured the request. Starr is already the Cruiserweight Champion of the promotion and will look to become the first two-weight class Champion in company history.

Rev Pro has also announced that Zack Sabre Jr and Minoru Suzuki of Suzuki-gun defend will against Aussie Open on the night. ZSJ and Suzuki have been Champions since January when they defeated Moustache Mountain. Aussie Open are the current Number 1 contenders to the titles.

Revolution Pro (Rev Pro) also debuted on FreeSportsUK this past Friday. The UK based company will be using the nationwide channel as the home for their new TV show going forward.

You can check out the exclusive interview we conducted with Rev Pro owner Andy Quildan here. When we discussed the timing of the new show Andy confirmed that “WoS had no impact on our decision.
