While it’s not confirmed at this point, it’s possible that Undertaker will be using another Johnny Cash song for his entrance at WrestleMania 31 this year.

Former WWE performers Rey Mysterio and Justin Roberts made surprise appearances at Tommy Dreamer’s “House of Hardcore VIII” event at the former ECW Arena on Saturday night.
Roberts cut a promo about how he lost his passion for pro wrestling while working for WWE. He said WWE produces the same thing every week and he’s tired of the politics in wrestling.
Mysterio also appeared in what was his first post-WWE appearance in the United States. After Ethan Carter III showed up unadvertised to help Eric Young defeat Tommy Dreamer, Mysterio came out and made the save.
The show ended with Mysterio and Dreamer cutting promos about how Mysterio was back home and how ECW is family forever.
– Most of the matches taking place at the NXT event in Columbus, Ohio this past Thursday night were filmed for a future NXT DVD release, which is expected to come out later this year.
– Rey Mysterio is scheduled to team with Extreme Tiger for a tag-team match against Manik and Perro Aguayo Jr. for the CRASH promotion on March 20th in Tijuana, Mexico.

Earlier this week, Mexico’s AAA promotion held a press conference to announce the signing of former WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio. He will be competing at next Sunday’s Rey de Reyes event, teaming with Myztezis (the original Sin Cara) against Hijo Del Perro Aguayo and Pentagon Jr.
Aside from working AAA shows, their affiliate promotion Lucha Underground is planning to make Mysterio a focus of their upcoming storylines to capitalize on Mysterio’s crossover popularity.
Mysterio is expected to work the next set of Lucha Underground tapings on March 21st from Boyle Heights, California.
Mexico’s AAA promotion held a press conference today to announce the signing of former WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio. He’ll be appearing at the Rey de Reyes event in on March 15th from Guadalajara, Mexico. His opponent will be announced soon.
Mysterio will also be wrestling at a special “World Cup” show on May 23rd, where he’ll team up with AAA World Champion Alberto El PAtron and Myzteziz, the original Sin Cara.

Following his release from WWE earlier this week, Rey Mysterio’s next move has been revealed.
It’s been rumored that Rey will be working with Lucha Underground and AAA, now f4wonline.comhas confirmed the news. A press conference is scheduled for Tuesday where AAA will announce the signing.
Mysterio is reportedly charging $20,000 per appearance on the indy scene.
WWE has moved Rey Mysterio’s Superstar profile to the Alumni section of WWE.comand is expected to announce his release before the weekend.
Mysterio’s deal was set to expire in May, but he was ultimately granted his release after extensive negotiations. There had been talk of Mysterio requesting his release last year, with WWE wanting to extend his contract since he missed so much ring time due to various injuries.
It’s expected that he’ll will be joining Alberto El Patron in Lucha Underground. On New Year’s day, he told fans will be seeing him soon.

– Triple H will be hosting a media conference call this coming Tuesday to promote the next NXT live special on the WWE Network, NXT TakeOver: Rival, which airs on Wednesday night. Make sure to check back here on Tuesday afternoon for notes from the call.
– WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio did a photo shoot with noted hip-hop artists Rick Ross and French Montana earlier this week. No other details are known as of this writing. Below are a couple of photos of Mysterio with the famous rappers.
One of the reasons that WWE had The Lucha Dragons, Sin Cara and Kalisto, drop the NXT Tag-Team Championships recently is because they are contemplating giving Kalisto a new gimmick.
Verified Reddit user MetsFan4Ever noted recently that WWE is looking for a new masked Superstar to take over the void that Rey Mysterio will soon be leaving, however they have recently tried using Kalisto under a new, unmasked gimmick — that of a homosexual hair stylist.
WWE officials were reportedly pleased with Kalisto’s performance as that character and as a result, they are said to be seriously considering having him do that gimmick permanently instead of continuing with his current Kalisto character.
Negotiations between Rey Mysterio and WWE are said to be nearly finished, and Mysterio could potentially receive his official release from the company in the near future.
We should know more about Mysterio’s post-WWE plans in the next few months. Mysterio has reportedly been working on putting together some signing appearances, as a number of promoters are waiting to make announcements.
It’s also believed that when Mysterio is legally free and clear from WWE, he will turn up in Lucha Underground.
As of last week, Mysterio was rumored to have a WWE release in hand, but had yet to sign it as some issues between he and WWE had yet to be resolved.
– It’s said to be very unlikely that Rey Mysterio will be appearing in the 30-man Royal Rumble match this coming Sunday night. While anything is possible, it’s likely we won’t hear anything new regarding Mysterio’s status for a few months.

WWE is apparently not saying anything regarding Rey Mysterio. The word going around is that everything regarding Mysterio is being kept quiet on both sides.
As noted a few weeks ago, WWE originally had a script put together for Mysterio to do a storyline that was scheduled to begin at the Survivor Series pay-per-view and end at WrestleMania, but the feeling was he was on his way out of the company at that point, so they decided against it.
As things stand now, the Mysterio storyline has been completely dropped and there are no plans for him to be brought back in the sense that the WWE creative team has been told not to worry about coming up with any ideas or plans for him.
Following up on Rey Mysterio’s recent tweet that fans will be seeing him again soon, Chavo Guerrero is teasing a potential feud with the former WWE World Heavyweight champion in Lucha Underground.
With conflicting reports about whether Mysterio will be returning to WWE or not, Chavo responded to a fan on Twitter who said they want to see Rey vs. Chavo in Lucha Underground.

– As noted in the recent past, WWE’s creative team was reportedly told to come up with a storyline for Rey Mysterio that would take him from around Survivor Series all the way through WrestleMania. Obviously since Survivor Series has come and gone, as well as the pay-per-view after that, it’s said that whatever storyline they came up with is now off.
– Daniel Bryan’s new autobiography, which is called “YES! YES! YES!” and was scheduled for a release during WrestleMania 31 weekend in late March has been pushed back to a July release. The official synopsis for the book reads as follows:

– E! aired a new promo for the return of WWE’s “Total Divas” reality show in 2015. The commercials began running this weekend. What’s interesting to note is that in the commercial, WWE Divas and Total Divas cast members Summer Rae and Naomi were not included. Some are taking this as a sign that the two are being phased out of the show.
– WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio was in attendance at the NFL game between the New England Patriots and the San Diego Chargers on Sunday in his hometown of San Diego, California.
After recently coming to terms on a new agreement, WWE expects Rey Mysterio to be back on television soon. Mysterio had been attempting to get out of his WWE contract, but WWE wanted to extend his deal since he missed a significant amount of the last year due to injuries. With WWE short on top draws in the Hispanic market, it’s said that Vince McMahon had to bend a bit to Mysterio’s requests.
As of this week, Mysterio’s plans to wrestle for AAA and Lucha Underground have been put on hold.
Aside from returning to the ring, WWE plans to utilize Mysterio outside of the ring, using him for promotional work and as an ambassador of the company
Through all the ups and down, Mysterio has been with since 2002, longer than most of the locker room. It’s unlikely that any other wrestling promotions could give him the money and worldwide exposure that WWE can, which was one of the deciding factors that led him to remain with the company.
Next Sunday, the WWE will dust off the tables, ladders, chairs, and apparently stairs for its annual hardcore spectacular. This year’s event will be held in Cleveland, Ohio and will be the sixth incarnation of the pay-per-view.
This will be only the second TLC pay-per-view to not feature a WWE Championship match, as Brock Lesnar is still sitting at home collecting a paycheck. In the past, the WWE has used this event to lay the groundwork for the Road to WrestleMania while providing a sense of finality to various feuds with the hardcore element. With that said, here is a look back at the first five TLC pay-per-view events.
We are just days away from the WWE’s latest pay-per-view, Survivor Series. At last year’s event, Randy Orton defended his championship against the Big Show in a highly criticized main event. This time around, it will be John Cena risking his job in an attempt to slay the Authority.
The shelf life of a WWE superstar can be short, so it’s always important for competitors to make the most of their time in the ring, especially at pay-per-views. Here is a look at the superstars who have progressed, regressed, or remained stagnant over the past year.
Progression:
Luke Harper
Harper has made tremendous strides over the past year. He and former partner Erick Rowan were destroyed by Daniel Bryan and CM Punk at last year’s Survivor Series. He walks into this year’s event as a surprise Intercontinental Champion, and is booked into the main event with Team Authority. Harper’s stock is definitely on the rise.
Ryback
It appears the company is once again fond of Ryback. The Big Guy was basically buried in the midcard after his feud with John Cena last year, including a quick defeat at the hands of Mark Henry last year at Survivor Series. He has been the focal point of WWE television over the past few weeks, so it will be interesting to see where they go from here. One can hope that this isn’t simply a stopgap measure until guys like Reigns and Lesnar get back on television.
Honorable Mention: Ambrose/Rollins
It’s difficult to talk about progression without mentioning the former Shield brothers. These two were destroyed last year in a match whose only purpose was to get Roman Reigns over as a singles competitor. (Dean Ambrose was eliminated 2 minutes into this match and Rollins eventually stepped aside so the Spear party could commence.) What difference a year makes, however. Rollins is the leader of Team Authority and arguably the star of the main event, while Ambrose has elevated himself and will attempt to solidify the midcard on Sunday.
Regarding Rey Mysterio’s backstage meeting with Vince McMahon and Triple H at the WWE RAW taping in Buffalo, New York a few weeks ago, it’s said that nothing definitive came out of it other than Vince wanting to get Mysterio back in a WWE ring.
While many assume Triple H is running things within WWE these days, it was said to be pretty clear that the Mysterio meeting was a Vince meeting and it was Vince running the show in that regard.
There is a belief within WWE that a compromise will be made soon that will see Mysterio make a return, working regularly between now and WrestleMania 31. His current contract is set to expire in late-April.
WWE officials have reportedly asked Mysterio to work more dates than most think he should.
